The addition to the hotel in an apartment building with a different address, no reception, and a staff that was not available to help with luggage to go and check in, was a bad experience for a guest tired from travelling. The room did not have one English channel on TV, although tourists occupy it.! High bathtub to take a showera bit dangerous to get in and out

A great location, opposite the zoo and a good shopping street,and 15 minutes walk from the townhall square, only 2 minutes round the corner from another Chic and Basic property used for check in and b'fast, tea, coffee, and drinks. The room was indeed chic and basic, with nice high ceilings of an older property. The bed was very comfortable and bathroom adequate, with good hot water. Minor mentions (NOT moans): I'd have preferred a shelf in the shower to avoid needing to bend down for soap etc. a power socket near the desk (but you can use the TV socket) and a small fridge, but none of these would dter me from returning.

Free coffee and cookies are good

Was a little concerned about checking in at a Kiosk, I expected a box type check in. But it is a regular “hotel” type check in with a person. Then you walk around the corner to the actual hotel where you can enter with your key. The room was nice, clean with comfortable beds. The safe did not work,and I reported it the next day. They have a lovely “common “ area where you can get tea, coffee and biscuits. Our room had a small balcony that was enjoyable. Overall highly recommend

The room had several things not functioning well. And room felt cramped.

Room was very small but was only used for sleeping so no big deal. Room was clean but closer inspection shows lack of effort. Dust in corners, stains under toilet seat. Complimentary coffee, pastry, biscuits and sweet was a nice touch. Look out for noise if you’re in room 25 right next to the coffee area. No staff onsite, check-in is round the corner. Wasn’t overly impressed with having to walk the street with an iron and ironing board from one hotel to the other. Served its purpose but will look for an alternative next time.

Beautiful balcony room

There are two doors to enter the hotel. One is for the front desk and the other to enter the hotel rooms. We didnt know this so we were looking around for a few minutes. Other than that confusion, the staff was nice and attentive. The space was very cozy and different to the hotels we are use to in the States. But still good. Have everything we needed

Room to small.

Very cool property on a quiet and safe area. Very close to the Botanical Garden. Easy transport to any other area. The apartment was very clean and even more spacious than advertised. Would definitely stay again!

The rooms are a bit sombre and dark but that's clear what they are going for - it's just not really to my taste, aesthetically. They are stylish though if you like that kinda thing. My shower was a bit chaotic! Biggest selling points to this place are the extremely helpful but laid back and friendly staff. They held on to my bag for me for free for several hours afterwards too. Thanks. I also loved that they had a tea and coffee station (with still and sparkling water too) which was free. It was great to be able to stumble out of your room at 7am and get a free coffee freshly made from a nespresso-type machine. I took advantage several times in a row! It's an excellent location and I would stay again.

The interiors don’t look clean, it had a dusty smell, my AC was not working, but they fixed it the next day. Next to the entrance there were homeless people sleeping every day, doing drugs and had the place smelling bad.

Great staff - 2 things to know

Fantastic staff, hotel is pretty much what it says it is. 2 things to know: #1 there is no desk in the room and it's harder to work cross legged for hours at a time on my bed than it used to be. #2 after about 8pm homeless people sleep on the corner of the block. They're no bother, but it changed my feelings on the area.

Much better than expected. Check in was easy and they looked after my luggage. Good location and water, juice beer and coffee complimenty. Clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel is close to Gothic quarter and shopping area about 1/2 mile to subway L line only downsize was room too small not enough room to lay down my luggages

Great Staff and Location!

We had a lovely stay. The staff were absolutely wonderful; gracious, and accommodating. We are able to store our luggage with the front desk while we waited for our room to be ready and also the next day while we waited to head to our ship. The fire alarm went off in the building and being that the staff aren't in the building it took a good amount of time for them to turn it off. The beds were okay, but I take an extremely soft bed. The room was clean and had a lovely view. There were plenty of good restaurants nearby and we enjoyed strolling around and checking out the area.

Highly recommend

Perfect location in Born next to Parc de la Ciutadella. There are metro stations nearby but we just wandered out most days on foot. The room was well kept and clean and there was a good coffee machine just outside the room. Staff on check in were really nice and we had a nice drink at the bar too. Excellent value for money.

The inside of the hotel is nice however the outside, meaning the street, is dirty and surrounded by homeless people. Felt a little unsafe walking in the evening to the hotel. Just something to keep in mind.

Room was great! Bathroom and room were really spacious. The only problem was that bathroom was flooding because of bath curtains. It was covering only 1/3 to 1/2 and was flooding the bathroom whenever we take a shower.

Front desk staff was extremely helpful and accommodating! GREAT location and nice, clean rooms. Highly recommend this place!!

Good location, strange no lobby / reception in site

Very convenient location. Excellent for a short stay. If staying for longer than a night I would recommend going for a larger room, as the single and cheapest rooms are quite small. Very tidy and clean, but small.

The check in was a little strange. The hotel has 2 parts. The address i was provided was not where I had to collect the keys. A kind lady next door guided me. The hotel and room was fine. The shower leaked all over the floor but these are not major issues. I was comfortable and felt secure.

No front desk, so you must check-in at a sister hotel around the corner. The rooms are very small, and the elevator did not work, but the room was clean. The staff at the sister hotel were all very nice and attentive. The hotel is in a great location

Very good location

Upon arrival the check-in is around the corner from the actual hotel but this was not far and the staff there were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was in good condition and clean (slightly dirty in the bathroom around the sink and unusable in room safe but there is one at the reception you can get so this isn't an issue). We got clean towels everyday and a room refresh, very good experience for the price and the staff were helpful with anything we needed.

Reception no where near entrance to the hotel, directions on website need to improve. Homeless sleeping rough close to entrance although posed no trouble during our stay. 1st nights room right next to communal area that guests can use to get coffee all night long, incredibly noisy. Do not accept room 26!!! Once changed rooms noise not as bad but still can here every door in the hotel open and close during the night, very poorly designed and built…not recommended for light sleepers. Staff very pleasant however.

It is really like staying in an apartment without a kitchen or living area. There is an outside access key and then the key to your room. The room was nice but REALLY small which didn’t really matter as we were out running around all day. The LOCATION is perfect!!!! If you like to walk you can walk to any of the local sites… Picasso museum, Park Guell, Casa Batllo…

Expedia, do yourself a favor, do not offer this place to the people that trust you page.

This hotel was very cosy and comfortable. It was easy to get to all places i needed, restaurants and cafes are nearby ( many choices). I liked the communal area with tea and coffee self service. I really enjoyed the balcony in my room with cute chairs to enjoy my breakfast, would definitely stay here again

Nice place, adorable stuff. the bed was a little bit small for me. The location ok, but not the best spot. Overall it gets what I paid for.

Overrated, bathroom was dirty, rooms are small, pictures don't represent. Over priced, completely. Better value else where.

It’s a Hostel, not a Hotel

It is not a hotel at all. At best it is a hostel with an attached bathroom to your room. Nothing much to offer.

Decent hotel

The room was not ready on check in. We had to wait 20-30 min after we arrived despite the fact we arrived 10 min after check in time. Otherwise, friendly service and nice balcony.

I liked the location that’s it. If you have big bags this hotel is complicated to check into. You need to drag your bags around the corner to check in- super confusing and it’s not explained correctly. Creepy zoo animals on top of the bed- not my thing only thing I liked was the location and nespresso machine on most floors.

I liked the fact that it was near pretty much everything.

Aircon walks great, room is not so spacious but clean, got bathtub so that's a plus, would definitely recommend if you are a budget traveller coming through bus. The reception is kind and baggage drop is free but be ware of location. Free coffee and water is so gooood!

Helpful and friendly staff. wonderful room. It’s so close to everything. I had a great stay. The balcony is a nice touch. It’s lovely to wake up every morning n have so much natural light.

Checking is puzzling because it is not at the entrance. Missing basic things. No caps in the bathroom, no table in the room, no fridge, the safe is not clear how to use. Needs renovation. Air conditioner is strange - limited to 19 degrees and not clear if it is working. The service for cleaning and beds was good. The front desk personnel was friendly and helpful. No any tv channel in English or any other language then Spanish. No phone in the room - not clear how to contact the front desk from the room except to walk about 500 meters.

I love this hotel , the room was modern and spacous.Centrally located to all places of interest and in front of the universitat metro station.

Wir waren 4 Tage in der Unterkunft und es hat uns für nur zum schlafen ausgereicht! Getränke gab es auf dem Flur inklusive kleine Küchlein. Es hätten mehr Steckdosen im Zimmer sein können aber sonst alles super.

The room was old and dirty and lacking toiletpaper for multiple days. Furthermore The bath didnt have hot water and was leaking on The entire floor. The toilet was running all The time and ac wasn’t working and they couldn't help with that. the room only had two wall plug ins for charging phones. One in The middle of The bed and one in The bathroom. Doesn’t Seem very safe.
