Cleanliness lacking
Room had multiple black hairs in sink and tub. Caulking needed replaced years ago as well. Otherwise the place was decent.
The room was excellent but the noise was terrible.
One of the heaters in the room didn't work and check in is only after 4:00 PM. Other than that it was an excellent stay.
This place exceeded my expectations. It’s the nicest place I’ve stayed when visiting Cedar Point. The room was clean, bed was comfortable. They also gave you free wine, beer, and chocolate! Staff was kind and walks you to your room on arrival. My only complaint was it was a bit loud in the morning, there was a family with kids staying down the way that were yelling and running around but that can’t be helped. I will stay here again!
Perfect Spot
My son and I love this place! The Beer and Wine in the room is a nice touch! Location is great, so much to offer, great food.
Cedar point and Cedar Stables
Interesting stay, lots to do on the property. I appreciated the complimentary bottle of wine
The only difficult part was trying to check into the hotel through Thirty Pony restaurant. It was during the dinner rush and we had to wait to be checked in. Once helped, the gentlemen was professional and walked us to our room. Free wine and beer were available in room. It was clean and decorated nicely. Overall I would stay again.
We love staying there, restaurant and bowling alley is so much fun. Thecrooms arecgreat size for a family. Its a hidden gem.
Such a great little hotel with with a 5vstar feel. From the moment they walk you to your room and open the door, you will find a complementary bottle of wine, chocolate, a flight of beer, bottles of water and a rubber pony duck to play with in the tub. My whole family loved this hotel.
Pictures of the room make it look a lot nicer then it is. Pros: Staff is very friendly. Sliders from the bar were delicious. Complimentary beer and wine. Very close to cedar point. Cons: Almost impossible to fine the room. Check in counter is almost as impossible to find. Room was remodeled with poor craftsmanship. A few of the plugs looked like they caught fire. Bathroom was very outdated. Extra bed was a futon that was uncomfortable.
Room did not have a closet, ironing board, air conditioner was too loud, could not sleep. For the price this was not at all what we expected. No elevator had to carry bags upstairs. Very small check in area. Would not recommend at all.
Loved how easy it was to get from dining to bar to bowling all in the same facility. Didn’t like the bathroom door in our room not shutting properly and the shower not draining when showering.
Very fun spot to stay!! Quiet rooms, friendly and helpful staff!
Hands down the best place to stay! The whole experience is always wonderful and we have a ball everytime we go!!! Highly recommend!!
Wonderful surprise place to stay.
I booked two suites for my family of 5 adults and 6 kids ranging from 5-12. We were all able to sleep comfortably in the two rooms, the smallest children using the futon style couch, which they enjoyed. When booking this place, I was a little unsure of what to expect, but once we arrived, we all realized this place was definitely out of the ordinary, but absolutely a cool place to stay. All of us agreed that we will definitely keep this place at the top of our list when going to Cedar Point. They have many additional entertainment options of things to do which are all onsite. We were given some free tickets to play, which we did not take advantage of. We were just too tired, yet a nice extra and free perk. You can not possibly stay any closer to the park without staying AT the park. What a wonderful surprise this place was. After our stay at the park, and getting checked in, we had dinner in the restaurant on site. With 11 of us, we ordered a variety of food. All portions were generous as we needed boxes when we left. Everyone enjoyed their food. Not one complaint from any of us. This was a memorable stay and we will definitely return. We would all highly recommend Cedar Stables.
It served it purpose
Wow! This place far exceeded our expectations! It was a little weird to check in with the hostess and walk through the restaurant and past the bowling alley to get to our room, but the room was beautiful, comfortable, quiet and relaxing. The restaurant/bar was great and the staff was very nice. Free bowling was great and they even let us bowl even though they were closing. Plus, free beer, wine and bottled water in the room! Don’t listen to any haters, this place was amazing!
The location near Cedar Point made this an ideal hotel. Besides this, I really appreciated the person at the Thirsty Pony who checked us in. He saw that my hands were full and grabbed my bag and walked us up to our room. I also liked the rustic-chic feel of the room's decor and the complementary goodies they put in the room, including a delicious chocolate shaped like a horse, wine, and beer. It was also awesome that we got 2 hours of free bowling and shoes. The only thing I wished was different was that the room's floors were a bit cleaner. I saw some crumbs and other things on the ground and a dead bug on the floor. Other than this, it did get kinda loud at times. There was a time when someone knocked loudly at our door, said "room service," and then ran away down the hall. That was kind of annoying, but that could happen anywhere.
Cool place
If you're coming with kids, know that you have to walk thru two pot smelling bars to get to the stairs to your room. The comforter had a stain on it and we woke to ants on the window sill, the comforter, and in the bathroom sink. Less than desirable area/people. Did not feel safe. Shared concerns with corporate and the response was "thanks for letting us know. "
Super fun and a great addition to our cedar point experience. The amusement area was perfect for our kid. We haven’t bowled in years!
.
Will stay again.
Extremely cute place. The free in room beverages and bowling added to the flair. We will stay there everytime we make a trip to Cedar Point. It was perfect.
The property is super unique. Nothing like your typical hotels. This property is wonderful and they have great amenities on their property and great attention to detail. Loved our room.
5 Day vacation
Couch was tattered and stained. Beds were very comfortable. Showers had ample hot water. No closet, no dresser. Staff was very nice and very happy. A lot to do on-site, eating, bowling, laser tag, axe throwing, games. Close to everything! Would go back!
In the building is restaurants that are very good with bars , bowling , axe throwing just very nice stay.
I thought the check in was east. Restaurant was great on Property. Free Beers in your fridge. Bathroom was nice.
Love how the restaurant is there. Cool place and cozy beds
Cannot say enough good and positive things about this fabulous hotel, its amazing staff, its awesome amenities, its attention to detail, its affordability, its everything! Will be staying again soon. New favorite place. Definitely a hidden gem. Highly recommend.
Great place awesome location only complaint the water wasn’t very hot in the evening for showering
The room was very dirty and had bugs. And due to my kids medical condition we had to leave. I am requesting a full refund
Its a unique place, small but quaint. Free bowling was a nice perk. Convenience that its connected to a restaurant but it was over an hour wait each time we tried to eat there.
.
Nice place goid area bathroom needs little repair but overall great
Great stay!
Beautiful room. Close to cedar point. Everyone was friendly. Room needed a good sweep but all in all it was great and we will be back!
Hidden Gem
We absolutely loved our stay here!! The place was so cozy with a fire place, complimentary wine and beer upon our arrival and free bowling our entire stay!! This is our new family vacation spot!! We have a second trip booked in September already!!
The diner, Bar and Bowling Alley came first above all else. First off we had to check in through the restaurant which is weird on itself, second the hotel shares WiFi with not only the Bowling Alley, but Bar and Restaurant so we had ZERO WiFi during our stay. The room we had had remotes that didn’t work for the TV so often that we called maintenance twice in two days. Oh let’s not mention the keycards. They stop working after one day and even if you get a new one it’s a luck of the draw chance if you’re getting back in your room. If I could go back in time to save money and change to a different hotel? I would do it in a heartbeat. Don’t let the flashy amenities fool you. This place is second priority and it shows through the bathroom which had terrible water pressure at times and our shower screeched the entire time we used it. I HIGHLY recommend getting a different hotel. Don’t waste your time here!!!
My dad and I have stayed at this place twice now, and I’d say it’s definitely worth it.
Had the Nashville Hot wings that were not very good . Extremely sweet for a hot wing. Also watery diarrhea the next day. Had pizzia in the evening also but i think it was the wings.
Great choice.
We’ve stayed at the stables twice now and both times, 2 different room types, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and I’m picky! The furnishings were nice. The deluxe suite was our most favorite room, it’s so large and the couch looked brand new. We’ll be back.
Love how quiet the hotel was even though it was super busy!
Room was nice. Bathrooms could use some renovating but weren’t bad. Food was excellent! Bowling was fun. Kids had a great time. Was a fun experience!
Terrible rooms, bugs everywhere, felt like I was carfished by a hotel and suite , showed up to a motel that smelt like feet
Check in was very confusing- as there is a tiny booth that is not attended in a very crowded/cluttered restaurant. We walked through this maze of a restaurant for a few minutes before someone told us where to look for the check in booth. The restaurant was very dirty and when they took us to the hotel area- it was even dirtier… stained carpeting in the halls, water stains on the ceiling- water damage to pictures on the wall. It took them 30 minutes to get us into our room with an emergency key, because their machine broke. They kept telling us that had never happened before, but there were other reviews saying this happened. We couldn’t get our actual keys until 9pm. The room seemed ok, but because of everything being so dirty outside of it- it felt gross too. There was complimentary wine and beer and chocolate- which was nice. The hotel is not attended by staff after 10pm and they do not answer their phone before that, because it’s technically part of the restaurant - which is super busy and chaotic…. so you’re pretty SOL if you have any issues. When the restaurant closes, you have to access the hotel through a back door that is supposed to require a key, but was broken and unlocked- another thing we saw written in a few reviews from last year- so obviously they’re just not keeping up with maintaining this place. Will not be returning!
Service, the room everything
The hotel is always so much fun, we take our grand kids there to get away. They love it.
Disgusting
Keys did not work on the door initially and had to go get a different key card, carpet has stains throughout, found a VIP wristband under the edge of the bed from a previous person, found ants in the middle of the floor, mouse droppings around the toilet and dead bugs behind it, couch has stains and the couch back was broken, literally every sheetrock tape seam and corner is bubbling up (not just a few but EVERY SINGLE ONE), sheetrock repair to the wall was falling out and cracking, window sills had dead bugs and dust/dirt accruing and obviously have not been cleaned in a long time. At night there is no one there to assist you, the only way to get in touch with anyone is the service phone at the back door entrance that rings through to the adjacent Holiday Inn front desk, which we were told is owned by the same person/group. After hours the only entrance/exit is through a dark sketchy back parking lot door that has a key card access however is not locked and anyone can enter at any time. Attempted to reach someone and was told they would call us back in the morning, 2 days later and we keep getting redirected to voicemail. 8 pictures is not enough to show how poorly the room was cleaned and kept.
Enjoyed staying at the Cedar stables inn / Thirsty Pony and the free bowling. Room was clean and comfortable. Definitely going to go back again stay longer.
It was very cute and cozy! Beds were very uncomfortable.
Family friendly
It wasn’t what I expected coming through the doors. The rooms are awesome. The food was really good as well as service. The hotel was very clean. A great place for the whole family it comes with a bowling sale inside the hotel.
Amazing beautiful property! Our door was broken but still shut. The room was very comfortable and beautiful. So many things to do like complimentary bowling. Complementary drinks and snacks was an awesome touch too!
My son said and I quote "This place act like they really care about how they make you feel" "Best place in Ohio"
Bar/restaurant/Sportsbook/bowling…what more could you ask for?!
Was pleasantly surprised by how big the sports bar area was that the hotel is attached to. The room was really cute and loved the fireplace and the nice shutter blinds. The bathroom was not renovated but it was “fine”. We had the king suite room so we had a little couch (very uncomfortable -don’t try to sleep on it) but the bed was super comfy and great pillows. They gave us free wine and beer in the room!! And free bowling but we didn’t have time to check that out. Very cheap Uber less than $15 to cedar point. Very convenient. I will definitely stay here again if I come back to cedar point.
This property was clean and had a well themed idea, was clean, and quiet. I recommend staying if going to nearby Cedar Point
The horse theme was great and free stuff was nice
Will definitely return
Awesome stay! Friendly people and fun atmosphere
Great place. Clean and super friendly staff! Will stay here again
Nice
Nice getaway...hidden gem
Amazing 👏 place for couples. This place was awesome very relaxing and romantic vibes in the room. They offer many options to choose from right there in the building. I was expecting one thing and was blown away ny the experience. Highly recommended for couples.
Super gorgeous rooms, complimentary alcohol and really nice horse themed decor. The only thing I will say is that the check in experience is confusing and not very good. We could not find where to check in and realized we had to go to the bar… to go check into our hotel rooms. If they had a normal check in desk it would be 10/10 but we had to ask an employee where to check in and then walk through a bar to get checked in.
Stayed here for two nights. Very clean and quiet! Highly recommended
Free bowling and free beer and wine upon arrival. Rooms are kind of dark but cozy. Unique and convenient stay for the area.
The room was nice, recently remodeled and clean. There’s no elevator though, and check in reminds me of a Hotel Impossible episode. You check into the hotel in their bar which in the light of day made me not want to walk around much. No one was even available to assist us before check in. It’d be a great spot if you’ve got some kids that need constant activities like bowling or off track betting lol. There’s also an event center so that gets rented and loud- we had a group on there till 2:30am and was very loud coming out of the party.
Great location at the entrance to Cedar Point, parking & entrance behind the Holiday Inn Express. Check in at Thirsty Pony but you can get there from the entrance in the back. There was lots that was really good about this place but definitely some fine tuning could make this place a real gem. Room was clean & comfortable. There’s complimentary, wine, craft beer, water & chocolate. There was no corkscrew or bottle opener though 😕 & we got back from CP late so no drinks for me that night. Also bowling passes included. Same owner as Holiday Inn Express so you can call them if you need anything; I just didn’t want to wait. Also coffee pot & microwave. Decor is rustic & super cute. Shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, soap, mouthwash all provided but lotion was empty (stationary refillable containers). Barn door on the bathroom doesn’t completely close so there’s not full privacy. That wasn’t a problem for us but could be in certain situations. You can also really hear hallway noise but there’s not a lot of rooms so it’s not too bad or continuous. There was a guest book for people to leave their experience which I thought a really a nice touch, but no pen so couldn’t leave our experience. Generally felt safe but parking lot is kind of out of the way and there was no one around when we got back to the hotel after park close at 11 pm. The door between the main area & rooms has key access but was never locked. Checkout at 12 so that was nice. Overall a good experience.
Liked it very much
Loved the decor. Loved the wine and beer in The room Great idea to let guest sample what is in the area/ohio
Had a great stay, a little confusing if coming in late. Also wasn’t a fan of barn door bathroom door 😂 However we had an absolute great time there and the fireplace was awesome. I know I’m not giving a 5 star rating but I would absolutely stay here again.
Very Enjoyable stay with friends or family
The room was very nice, spacious, and comfortable. Staff was very friendly. It had a very cozy feel with a bunch of small cute personal touches and free local alcohol. The room was very clean with one of exception listed below. The rest of the complex was very fun and we even got free unlimited bowling with the room, this was a big benefit. There is ax throwing, horse betting, a full restaurant and bar, and lazer tag on the grounds. Complaints: Under the couch had obviously not been cleaned in quite some time, took almost 2 hours to get a single coffee pod for our room, no curtains so bright lights from outside shined around the blinds all night, and staff began knocking to clean the room hours before checkout. This was a very nice stay. I would definitely love to come back and try it again, but I really hope they get some curtains up ASAP!
Really enjoyed my interaction with the bar tender/inn host but other than that I don’t have anything I liked about the stay. The beds are super small and hard. 2 out of 3 bathroom lights were out, other people’s hair still on the bathroom floor. The wine glasses were not only dusty but had lipstick left on them from where they Weren’t actually cleaned properly the first time. Bed sheets and covers had blood stains on them, I called the desk to have my room cleaned and new sheets put on (took every cover off my self and put in a pile on floor with our dirty wet towels, just to make sure new ones were to be put on) I even laid the wine glasses down assuming they would replace them. They didn’t, same lipstick dusty wine glasses sat back up. Floors nor counter tops were cleaned. Could never seem to speak to a manager as to he never showed up at 8am like he was suppose to….. would not recommend and would not stay there again.
Nice place to stay and super close to Cedar Point
The room itself was great and very modern, but the bathroom could really use some work. It was old and dated. It was very clean, just like the room, but just old and off putting. I love the extras that they provide, like the bottle of wine and craft beers. The staff are very helpful and kind.
Cute boutique inn connected to restaurant and bowling..our family had a blast when we werent at cedar point.
Very convenient stay with food and activities for the kids. Great customer service and we enjoyed our stay.
Hotel room was clean and we liked the stable/rustic vibe that they were going for. The fold out “couch” which was really a futon was extremely uncomfortable, even for the kids. The vinyl flooring was coming unglued from the floor and the room smelled like we were staying over a tire factory. It did the trick and was close to Cedar Point. The check-in process was a little bit of a hassle. We had to leave the park and get the room key before 10pm which meant leaving the park early. Seems like a door code system would be a better solution for guests. I’d give this place a 7 out of 10!
Great stay! Will be back. Loved having the thirsty pony right there. Bowled quite a bit. Loved it all.
Room designs were nice, they provided free local beers and a bottle of wine! Kids had a good time bowling! Would stay again!
We had a great stay, had complimentary gifts, great food and friendly staff. Restaurant was grear too. The price was very good for the area as well. We will stay again.
Wonderful Stay!
We had a wonderful stay!! Check in was very smooth & simple. Room was very clean & tidy, and they even gave us complimentary beer, wine, and chocolate in the room. Beds were comfy & bathroom was stocked with everything we needed. The restaurant and food truck downstairs were perfect for dinner, and the bowling alley was a great addition to our stay as well! Highly recommend staying here. We will be back for sure!
Great horse themed hotel
Small hotel, clean and spacious. It is themed about horses. Very conveniently located close to dining, shopping and of course to Cedar Point. We received a free bottle of wine, craft beers and free bowling for every night we stayed. You need to check in/out at the thirsty pony restaurant, very safe area and clean. We would stay here again. Staff was very attentive and friendly
Staff was very helpful and room was nice! Stayed here during our trip to cedar point and the location was fantastic!
So much to do
Love this place and love the complimentary wine and beers available to guests
Spacious clean rooms, convenient location and loved having the bar/ restaurant available on site. Bowling was an added plus and we had a great time.
Construction started at 630am and the place was dirty
The hotel portion of the property was very unique. It was a horse theme since the bar attached is the Thirsty Pony. There were several free items that came with the room which was updated. The cable tv did not work properly and the shower head was not the best. Otherwise, an excellent choice for the price.
The place was awesome. So much to do with the bar and game rooms with bowling. I will definitely be going back.
Surprisingly Fantastic!
We needed a last minute place to stay for Ohio Bike Week and this was one of the last places available that didn’t jack up the price ridiculously. We were a little skeptical about having to check in at a restaurant, but decided what the heck. The guy who checked us in personally walked us to our room where he let us know there was free beer and wine waiting for us for our stay and gave us wristbands for free bowling! How awesome! The room was huge and clean and comfortable, as well. We had dinner at the Thirsty Pony and bowled a game before heading downtown. Would definitely recommend to anyone!!!!
Enjoyed our stay at the Thirsty Pony
This property is a small add-on wing to the Thirsty Pony Bar and Entertainment complex. The check-in procedure was different from your normal motel as we had to ask one of the bartenders to leave her post to help us get checked in during their busy time. Otherwise the room was nice enough and had beds for all 5 of our family members. Beds were double beds, so a bit smaller than the usual queen. Bathroom was also a bit small. Overall seemed like a fair value for the asking rate and was close to Cedar Point. I was worried it might be noisy since it's right next to the bar, but we didn't have any issues during our stay.
Neat place in a great location with a super helpful and friendly staff. Recommend staying!!! Will stay again.
Once we got into our room, everything seemed less troubling. Informing the hotel we would be arriving very late, they said twice our room keys would be available at the Holiday Inn Express next door. When we arrived the attendant had no clue what we were talking about. Going back to the Stables, a bartender assisted checking me in, but our room was already checked in and some ones credit card already held for incidentals. After some consulting, the room was available for occupancy, just some computer entry errors. The room was themed nice and the complimentary beverages were good, but there was no table, chair, or closet. No breakfast was provided, hot or cold.
I love the decor of the place
Tv didn’t work. I was not told the lights were on a dimmer switch. I discovered it on my own after sitting in the almost dark for over an hour. The bathroom floor around toilet needs a better cleaning job. No curtains to block out lights along sides of blinds.
Good pillows, fairly comfortable mattress, liked the faux fireplace, clean, bottle of wine and 4 beers included. No sleep timer on the TV and the tiniest toilet. Free bowling included.
Everything was amazing
The beds are comfortable, you get free bowling and they give you a bottle of wine and 4 beers for free in you your room
The rooms are unique and comfortable. The service and inclusions were excellent.
Person at check-in rushed since also server at Thirsty Pony too, but nice and quickly showed us our room. Floors dusty and dirty, dead bugs on windowsill. Bathroom tiny and outdated, 2 of 3 lightbulbs out, door doesn't shut properly and old wooden toilet seat.
Check in desk was in the bar/gambling/restaurant area but once checked in, you could use a different entrance. The room was nicely decorated however, there was no closet or chairs to sit on in the room. There was just one set of hooks to hang things on. No continental breakfast but they did have a restaurant as stated earlier.
Quieter than expected

Great getaway for a night!
