Nice quick stay for Cedar Point, property does look run down though. But was a quiet stay for just going to Cedar Point.
.
It’s just really old and the beds are tiny.
We were here for Cedar Point HalloWeekend so the location was great. The hotel has obviously gone through extensively interior remodeling but the room was anything but soundproof. It was as if a window was open how loud the flocks of geese and the multiple train passes sounded. Out of 3 rooms only one had an exposed pole to hang clothes. The mini-fridges are noisey.
Train nearby woke me up several times during the night, but very close to the amusement park and breakfast was reasonably good.
It was clean at first glance but there was previous garbage left behind. Ladies hygiene product behind bedside table. Only found because I was looking for an outlet. Not swept overall.
Affordable and convenient overnight stay if you need a place to stay, after a long day at Cedar Point. This is our fifth visit to Cedar Cove. Breakfast is provided like cereal muffins fruit coffee juice and hot cakes.
I love the calming lil pond in the back as well as how close they are to cedar point. Staff is always nice and ver accommodating.
The hotel itself was really nice and good for the price but my only complaint was there was no hot water on the weekdays for some reason. Cold showers weren’t my ideal idea of a get away weekend.
Room was clean , interrupted by worker who did not knock and came right in
The room was ok. But the area around the property was very dimly lit.
Rooms were recently upgraded but the quality of work will wear down quick. Beds were comfortable. The train will wake you multi times in the morning.
The room was satisfactory
I have never in my life refused to stay in a hotel. But there was no way I was going to stay in this place and would never recommend it. I wouldn’t even let my dog sleep there. It was filthy, spider webs with spiders everywhere, dead bugs everywhere, the second room was just as bad. There were dead bugs and dead roaches smashed all over the walls, filthy and it just turned my stomach. They should tear that place down. I went to a different hotel to stay.
I have stayed here plenty of times, but this was the only time that my room smelled like wet dog, our sheets smelled really bad
I like the fact that it 15 mins away from cedar point
Pool was cold but still had a pretty good stay
Friendly
Affordable pricing and complementary breakfast. Ill be coming back again.
Clean and comfortable room. Nice breakfast and staff was very friendly and accommodating
It was up to par with motel standards
Very nice and peaceful stay
We have stayed at cedar cove a few times this year so we could take our kids to cedar point and get the most out of our passes. Its affordable and very close to the park. Theres a restaurant/bar right across the street and gas stations close by to pick things up if you need to. They also have a very helpful and friendly staff, very comfortable beds and an outdoor swimming pool our girls used allot. Then they have a free small breakfast in the morning with a pancake maker & toast or bagels, cereal, juice or coffee and some little donuts or muffins. Its a great little place for a basic stay and very convient if your going to cedar point. The only issue my family had was the dirty floors, we had to wear our shoes in the hotel room or your feet get black. You cant tell they are dirty by looking at them but walking on them is a different story. All in all we had a great stay and for the price we can deal with the dirty floors!
The hotel is actually great and convient. We go to cedar point and it is very close and easy to get to. The staff is great and friendly and the breakfast is basic but free and good with different options. The beds are super comfortable too, the only issue we had was the floors. You cant walk in your bare feet bc the floors will make your feet black. I dont know why they are so bad but we've stayed 3xs in this hotel & everytime it's the same way. They have the fake looking wood in their rooms and my kids feet were so dirty from the floors i made them wear their shoes, we arent super picky people so its obviously not a big enough deal to keep us from going back, we are planning 2 more trips there this year and we will prob. Stay here again bc everything else is great!
Excellent value for the money
The tub pooled, there was visible space under the door where mice and rats could get in. The air conditioner never went below 77 degrees.
I loved everything at this hotel. It was clean the staff was so nice and it was very quiet besides the kiddos having fun playing in the pool past pool hrs at the hotel next to Cove hotel. But I’ll refer this hotel to everyone
This was a traumatic experience for my family. On the first night in the hotel my daughter woke me up crying in the middle of the night saying there were bugs in her bed. I checked and found 3or 4 ants. I assured her it was ok I got them all and she should go back to sleep. She ended up sleeping with me. The second night same thing. Middle of the night ants on the floor in the bathroom dad. Again 4-5. Killed them and went back to bed. The 3rd night was the bad one. Woke up and there were ants everywhere!!!!!!!!! My bed her bed our clothes our bags the bathroom. I’m not talking 4-5 ants either I’m talking thousands and thousands of ants. I work in a lumber mill and this was worse then anything I’ve ever seen. I could not for the life of me figure out what was attracting them because we didn’t bring food into the hotel. So after I wake up to my daughter literally covered in ants I look around and find the remnants of someone’s grapes. Which means after 3 days of “cleaning” our room there was still the guest before us’s food garbage on the floor. I changed hotels for the remainder of my stay in Sandusky. I called the hotel and someone was supposed to have called me back. Been 2 days and haven’t heard nothing. I feel like a terrible dad for putting my children through this. Please Learn a lesson from me. The early access just isn’t worth the trauma this has caused my child.
Over all great night stay.
Happy traveler
Convenient to cedar point . Budget friendly . Staff friendly , quiet rooms , pool open from 9 am - 11 pm , it’s a decent priced motel without all the bells and whistles . The 100 deposit hold was a sticker shocker . Still waiting for that to be credited back to my account but it’s been two days so hopefully soon . Only shampoo dispensers in room no conditioner dispenser . But room was clean bed was a tad bit uncomfortable. Some chips on wall in bathroom . Internet accessible was good . This is an excellent choice for budget family vacation stay . Located at entrance to cedar point drive . Have stayed at higher price places close near there a noise level was insane , so this was a breath of fresh air . Occasional train but to me it was soothing . Continental breakfast : cereal , yogurt ,bagels , toast ,fruit , coffee , juice , muffins , etc . Will def revisit when the family visits the Sandusky area again .
There was a spider in the bathroom that was 4 in in diameter…..called and they came and removed it but it was enormous.
Overall very satisfied, bathroom was clean and updated, which I appreciate. Beds are extremely small, but comfortable. The breakfast offers a lot of carbs and very little to no fruits or protein options.
Beds were comfortable, good value for the money. Rooms were small but adequate. Make sure to bring a noise machine or earplugs because the train goes through every 15 minutes all day and night. Breakfast was good. We will be back.
It was very clean
Maggie at the desk is AMAZING, she could make anyone’s stay great. Although this isn’t the Ritz, they have done far better at updating and trying to keep with the times while maintaining a great rate than a lot of name brand hotel chains. The surrounding area is a tad rough looking, but we felt safe at the hotel. The parking lot was well lit and although the pool area is randomly in the parking lot it’s fenced and a great amenity to offer. Breakfast included was the icing on the cake and just as good as any hotel continental options. They even offer complimentary bottled water to take back to your room. It far exceeded my expectations for just needing a bed to save on a morning drive to Cedar Point.
Staff is friendly and area is convenient!
Not great.
The hotel is run down and dirty. My daughter fell on their sidewalk and skinned up her knee and elbow pretty bad. It was an inconvenience to find a bandaid for her. Room was run down and dirty.
The front office staff were very nice. We were a family of 5 and they had the roll away set up with sheets made. Would definitely stay there again when coming to Cedar Point.
We got charged for a freezer. They said it was broken after we checked out and we did not even use the freezer. We had a cooler of our own not very happy.
Close to Cedar Point
The location is great, it’s on 2.5 miles from Cedar point. The rooms are like a motel feel (all room entrances are on the outside). There is a freight train that is loud that runs through very close to the motel and it runs all night long. There is an outdoor pool open until 11pm. Breakfast is served 6-9 am. The rooms look newly refurbished. The bathroom door doesn’t open all the way because the shower rod is curved. There was a strange smell in the room a lot. Smelled like exhaust or some type of gas, maybe coming from the A/C unit. It made me nauseous.
We stayed here after a fun filled day at Cedar Point. We were pretty much just looking for beds to sleep in and it fit the bill. We reserved a room with 3 double beds and it was perfect for the 3 adults and 2 kids. The bathroom could have been cleaner. It definitely needed a new shower curtain. If we were looking to stay there long term, I probably would not pick it but for a bed for the night, it was fine. The Breakfast area was very clean. It had the typical cereal, bagels, and muffins but it was well taken care of.
Beds were small and uncomfortable, but other than that it was fine
Overpriced, pictures are misleading. Took an extra $100 which I should get back in 3-5 business days- not like a typical deposit because they pulled it from my bank on the spot as opposed to a hold. Awful experience, we left at 4:30am as soon as we were awake enough to drive. Would do anything for a refund, not accurate advertising.
We had asked for a triple bed room and only received a double deluxe. We reserved the room a month in advanced but were told at the location they had given it away and we would have to deal. The room we had smelled like cat pee. We were charged for a triple bed when we didn’t have one we were told it would be fixed. it was not. We paid $50 extra for a room we didn’t receive. We slept in a room that smelled like cat urine we were told that would be refunded for that night, it was only discounted $30. The place was loud. The doors didn’t lock well. The bathtub didn’t drain. Wasn’t a very safe location. We had the choice to stay there or holiday inn which was only $25 more a night. We had chose cedar cove since it was a small business. I won’t go back. Very disappointed. Don’t use Expedia to reserve rooms. Reviews aren’t accurate. Very upset that we reserved one thing and received another. Upset that room smelled so bad we had to spray it down just so we could sleep. A $30 discount does not suffice what we went through. If coming to town, spend the extra for a nicer hotel.
The staff were so nice! We checked in late and yet they were still so kind, polite, and truly interested in our story. We will probably be staying there next year.
Just what we needed. A bed for the night. Air conditioner worked well. The beds were clean. But the room had a musty smell. The bathroom had no fan and definitely had water damage. The wall was falling apart by the bathtub. But overall did what we needed.
We stayed here for 2 nights while we visited Cedar Point. The price is very reasonable. Checkin was easy and she was friendly. Our room was updated. It was clean. Beds, AC and bathrooms were all wonderful. We enjoyed sitting in the chairs along the pond while my son took pictures of the wildlife flying nearby. It was very peaceful. We did use the pool which was clean and relaxing. It’s not big but certainly did the job. Breakfast was a nice spread. The employees were all very nice that we encountered. I had no complaints about our stay and would definitely stay again!
Great place to stay, only 6 mins from Cedar Point
Great location for Cedar Point
Great place to stay for Cedar Point
Perfect for the price. Nothing fancy, pretty decent continental breakfast. Pool was small but clean. My son and I loved it.
I arrived at the motel/hotel quite late (around 10:30 pm) and it felt like a party scene. There were a bunch of people in the outdoor pool and a couple on the 2nd floor balcony smoking herbs. I'm not against that at all but didn't want my bonus daughter walking by that. We were only in the room long enough to take showers before discovering a bedbug on my bed (thank god we didn't unpack yet or get on the beds yet). Outside of this, the rooms appear to be very presentable upon first glance and the front desk woman and the owner were very responsive to this issue. Customer service was great.
Excelent Accomodation for the cost. Great value for those spedning time at the parks!
Very convenient and affordable hotel for anyone going to Cedar Point during the peak season. It was only a five minute drive to the park. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The front desk is open 24/7 and they give you complimentary bottled water. The area wasn’t the nicest but I wasn’t out walking around in it. There was a nice lily pond outside you could sit and look at. The pool was small but I can’t review it because I didn’t have time to go swimming. Room was great for the price and was very clean. Enjoyed the free breakfast, especially the pancake maker. Only downside is that it was very carb heavy with only one protein option (hard boiled eggs.) Overall had a great stay and would recommend
Overall it got the job done. The 3 beds in the room was perfect for 2 older teens needing their own beds. The room itself was clean, bathroom was nice, but some of the titles in above the shower should be changed. The location is great for Cedar Point.
Pros: Property is 7 minutes away from Cedar point. Friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful outdoor area. Cons: Air conditioning unit had mold, unit 209. Food was under bedside table. TV did not work on arrival. Last con is outside of the hotels controll, was woken up by trains 4 times.
Came late after a long day at Cedar Point and it was perfect for such an occasion!! Pros: Relatively clean, bed felt comfortable, didn’t really hear anyone. Receptionist was very nice! Cons: No WiFi (or if there was, couldn’t figure out how to connect) and had terrible service even though that rarely happens for me. Blankets weren’t too comfortable - no comforter. Our room was in the back and faced a little sketchy area but still felt pretty safe. Overall, a quick and easy trip where you get what you pay for! Wouldn’t recommend for a longer stay but perfect for a night when you just need some sleep.
I had an injury that kept me from going to Cedar Point. Every single employee that i interacted with offered to help me way beyond what was required for their job. You may find a fancier place to stay, but you won't find a kinder or more caring staff anywhere.
Our stay was great, and very affordable, which was a perfect combination for our Cedar Point trip. Definitely will be back
I would definitely stay there again have a great pancake machine
breakfast was good,people friendly,
I got a room with 3 beds and it was so convenient. Kids were impressed with the modern mirror in bathroom. Staff was friendly.
Very close to Cedar Point very reasonable
Great experience!
The staff was very friendly and the room was decent. Walls are a little thin, but nothing too out of the ordinary.
The front desk was very nice. Breakfast was ok. Room was ok
Third time staying at this location after visting cedar point for the day. First two times we had no issues however this time around was a little different. Addressed issue that there was some kind a leak coming from the floor , perhaps a pipe leak some sort , leaving wooden part of the floor by the bathroom to stay wet. Secondly, lack of cleanliness in the shower , prior guests hair across the bathroom walls. Someones stay could be a hit or miss. Staff is friendly and breakfast was decent for the price you're paying.
Second time staying here. The cost is great even at peak season. However there is a musty odor in the room. The breakfast is nice. Staff nice. Just the smell in the room.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and it was quiet and clean. Had a good breakfast
Great hotel
The pics are deceiving. This is a run down hotel. Our first room had stains on the bed that looked like bed bug excrement. They gave us another room and house keeping left our door open all day. Took an hour to kill all the bugs flying around. Thankfully nothing was stolen. Right after starting the AC, everyone developed sore throats and running noses that only were a problem while in the room. I suspect the AC was blowing mold and dirt into the room because we felt better every time we left the room. Then on the last day, the ceiling started leaking in the bathroom like a pipe broke. We couldn’t leave fast enough.
Enjoyable stay
I stayed there for four nights with my son. The hotel was close to Cedar Point and reasonably priced. The room was clean and the towels were changed daily. The breakfast was good and the lady at the front desk that set up breakfast each morning was always friendly. I would definitely stay there again. Miranda
It was nice and friendly
Very clean room. Uncomfortable bed. Overly priced because of cedar point.
Loved the customer service. Location is great to Cedar point. close to eateries. Staff was very nice. Loved G, she was freaking Awesome. Breakfast area was nice. Small BBQ area. Swimming pool was small and nice to relax. Def will be returning. Love the updates to smaller hotel and family room was perfect. Plenty of parking. Hide and seek with the outlets.
Great stay!
Both team members we met were very professional and friendly/personable. The complimentary water was a nice plus! Property clean. Building a bit older looking but definitely cared for and presentation/appearance is nice. Beds a bit too form but ok for just the one night. All else was great!
Budget Friendly with Costs
The room was dusty and had mystery stains on the door, the walls, and the shower curtain. I just prayed there weren't any bed bugs. The front desk lady was very nice. The room itself was disgustingly dirty, though the bedding seemed very clean. It was a very confusing experience.
Maybe a fluke?
Our room was a corner room by the pool, we wanted to give a different hotel a try ( and save money) OMG never again (we’re sticking with Holiday Inn) and based off the reviews we decided to give it a try because most reviews were positive and it indicated that the rooms were refurbished. I am not sure if the room we got was left out of the updating, but it was AWFUL. We checked in, and almost immediately checked out after seeing the room. $300 for a 3 night stay is definitely what we were getting. Walls were cracked, the room smelled musty, broken tiles in the bathroom, extremely outdated. I wish we took pictures, but we didn’t want to stay any longer. Overall it was just dirty and made my skin crawl, I felt icky and just uncomfortable, I’ve learned my lesson and will never stray from my beloved Holiday Inn.
Nice motel near Cedar Point
It was a nice renovated motel very close to Cedar Point. Chairs by the lake/pond were nice to relax in after a day at the park.
Nice Room
Nothing fancy but very clean and very friendly.
Floors of the room were dirty, A/C did not work in one of our 3 rooms. Train came trough 1 or 2 times in the night waking some of us up. They had a Pancake machine, sams club bottled water, mini muffins, mini doughnuts, cereal, fruit, oat meal packets, tea, coffee and juice for breakfast.
Very close to Cedar Point
It’s near cedar point which is nice. The house keeping people don’t do well their jobs. They don’t do beds and beds are too small. The front desk staff is nice. If you are looking for a cheap option it’s ok just they should have better house keeping.
The sink was clog and the washroom floor, leaking out with water disgusting
👍
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room was immaculately cleaned and smelled fresh. This property is very close to Cedar Point Amusement park without the high cost of being on property. Don't be swayed by the outside appearance of the property because the free breakfast, friendly staff, and the soft clean sheets will make up for it!
.
Friendly helpful staff! Beautiful area! Clean room
The rooms were clean! Staff was amazingly and very helpful! The lake in the back is beautiful! The pool was clean as well, sad we didn't get time to get in and enjoy it! Kurt was an amazing help! Our car needed a jump as we thought we lost our car starting battery pack. He came and used his own car to jump us quickly and swiftly! Will be returning for another cedar point trip!
Not clean. Very loud.
first time ever booking an hotel for me and my younger brothers was the best time ever! We stayed here to go to kalahari then went to cedar point the next day before check out. Both locations were so close to the hotel & traffic was not a problem at all. the staff were amazing and provided amazing breakfast! 10/10 , will definitely be back soon.
Good
Family trip to Cedar Point. Good location. Clean and quiet.
Staff is friendly and breakfast is typical continental with waffle maker. There is a nice area in the back for lounging near the cove. The trains are loud at night, which made harder to sleep, but overall I would stay again.
Nice place to stay
Clean room, friendly staff, nice pool, and good breakfast selection! The location is great for Cedar Point.
Nice clean and comfortable. And the staff was the nicest staff! Offered me waters, bananas, snacks, coffee, etc every time I stopped by the office!
Close to Cedar Point, very nice and helpful staff in lobby, breakfast good with lots of carbs but no meat, mostly clean property and room. Good AC, shower head bad with very little water output, but water fine for bathtub.
It was clean, had a pool that was open until 11 pm, had a complimentary breakfast. It suited our needs and was affordable. The staff was very nice.
The beds are super comfortable and the rooms are clean. Staff was great. The outside is not appealing at all. Brought my sons but definitely wouldn’t have brought my daughter. All in all if you’re looking for a good night sleep and an ok breakfast at an affordable rate this is your spot.
Perfect Location. 5 minutes to Cedar Point
Perfect location for Cedar Point. Newly renovated and quite place. The beds are super nice and we slept so well. Will use again!!
The beds were very comfy after long day at cedar point. Was a little skeptical about staying After reading reviews of cleanliness, however glad we decided to go ahead. Room was very clean. Staff very nice. Nice for an older place. Great price!
complemantary breakfast was just right , room was clean , nice shower and plenty of parking , so conveinient for Cedar Point but the trains along the railroad was an unexpected noise at night
The staff here are amazing. They are friendly, helpful and thoughtful. A buddy and I were outside smoking cigars by the water when a person, possibly an owner, came across the parking lot to speak with us. We assumed that we were going to be asked to go back inside as it was kind of late. To our surprise, he asked us if we would like some wood for the fire pit. He proceeded to get wood and started a fire for us so we could continue to enjoy the evening and our cigars. Thank you to the gentleman!
