Room is clean, plenty of space, amazing view over the sea and Spinalonga. Private pool is worth a 5 star review on its own but the rest of the hotel adds even more, definitely worth it.

CAYO is amazing. We spent the first few days of our honeymoon here and I am happy we did. The staff was upbeat, on top of everything, and went out of their way to make sure our stay was everything we wanted it to be. On first night we received the most wonderful cake and bottle of wine as a wedding present. The cake was so perfect that it didn't look real. Plaka, the surrounding town arean, is so quiet and relaxing; no hustle and bustle traffice and noise. If you are looking to relax in a peaceful setting with excellent views then this is the place to be. Eloundas is a short drive with plenty of dining and shopping if you feel like getting out. One negative for some is the beach. If you want a sandy beach, this isn't it. CAYO's beach restaurant (which is a short shuttle ride away because the hotel is not on the water) is called Stone Beach for a reason. While the stones may not be everyone's ideal material, it does make for a very relaxing audio experience when the waves hit the beach. When I am in Crete again I would go out of my way to stay at CAYO, if only for a night. I wish we had spent our entire honeymoon at this resort.

Beautiful resort, extraordinary staff, delicious breakfast, thoughtfully designed rooms for families, nice gym and pools, convenient and easily walkable to the beach and town. Truly an extraordinary stay in every way. Kelari Restaurant is delicious and unique, and we had two amazing dinners there with exceptional service and lovely Cretan wine. One of the best resorts in which we have had the pleasure of staying. We'll be back!

Beautiful hotel with an amazing view of the sea and Spinalonga Island. Every room has a private plunge pool. Rooms are well arranged and spacious.

Cayo Crete was s awesome

I have travelled a lot and all over the world and this is probably the best hotel I have stayed in….Exclusive it certainly was….fantastic location, excellent quality and superb service

The design and style of the property is excellent with many little things considered, but what really makes it special is the staff who will always go the extra mile with nothing too much trouble. Bravo for the training and customer engagement.

Staff were without exception helpful, polite, professional, and extremely friendly. Pool area was stunning and not overcrowded. Room had its own mini pool as well. Excellent breakfast. Main restaurant seemed quite pricey but Plaka village only a short walk where there were a myriad of eating options. Fantastic place and would thoroughly recommend.

This is a really excellent hotel. Not only the staff was amazing alt all times, the entire resort was very well built and comfortable. The owner is local and owns a construction company and you can feel that by how well the hotel is built. There is a funicular lift for the rooms which are built on a steep hill making it very easy to access the rooms. The room has got a great size and the bathroom and toilet are separate and very good. There is plenty of storage space which I feel sometimes is lacking in hotels. The view from the room is impressive and the private swimming pool is quite good size. There is plenty of free water, a welcome pack. The gym is well equipped. The breakfast is excellent and at request some vegan options were available (although not a lot in terms of hot food). There are 2 large swimming pools and the beach is a 4 minute walk. They provide a shuttle to the beach. There are electric car charging points and electric cars for rental.

Cayo was one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. From the beautiful property, to the accommodating staff, we have no complaints and only praise for this hotel!

Room was perfect, private pool was fun, dinner buffet was delicious and staff was so nice. One of the best resorts I’ve ever stayed at and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to anyone going to Plaka. Truly five stars!

Cayo is perfection! The location was great, the facilities amazing. We booked adjoining rooms and had a private pool with sun loungers plus two good sized balcony areas with outdoor tables/chairs. We ordered room service for dinner one night and enjoyed a quiet delicious dinner overlooking the village of Plaka Beach and Spinalonga Island. Highly recommend Cayo and I’ll return!

Every Amazing

Amazing hotel, couldn’t have asked for anything more. Every room has a sea view and private pool which was so relaxing, we also loved to spend time at the beach area which was free to use for hotel guests. Free parking was also a nice touch as well as the shuttle to run us down to the beach and back (or it’s a 5 min walk). The staff were also amazing, nothing was too much trouble. We loved spending our evenings in Plaka, there are lots of restaurants (all really good) and several little shops, we preferred Plaka to the nearby areas of Elounda and Agios Nikolaos.

Outstanding, friendly team in a beautiful location

I can not say enough good things about the team at Cayo. Rarely have we experienced as good a welcome, as professional yet friendly a team, or as much warmth and can-do from a hotel team. The hotel itself is beautiful, with magnificent views from all around the site. Our room was well-appointed - including it’s own lovely pool - although in October we found all the pools too cold to swim in properly. We would particularly acknowledge Stefania in guest services, who helped us set up a brilliant boat trip, and was generally available for anything we needed, and all the staff at breakfast, who couldn’t have done more. Personally, I’d like to see the hotel push their “eco” agenda further - no one needs tiny plastic shampoo, condition etc bottles anymore. These could be wall-mounted and refilled, as we’ve now seen in many high-end hotels, and towels hung up don’t need to be changed every day, but this is a small point. In general, we would recommend the team and the hotel unreservedly!

Excellent séjour dans cet hôtel ! Nous avons particulièrement appréciés les piscines, la piscine de la chambre, le petit déjeuner qualitatif avec un choix varié (fruits frais, viennoiseries, jus d’orange pressé, fromages, pancake…), la plage privée, la beauté des lieux. Le staff est aux petits soins, attentifs et réactifs Merci à eux.

Very pleasant stay (be sure that you are rich)

Overall very very pleasant stay. You will be enjoying a very nice hotel and incredible service and kindness. The beach is crystal clear and very calm waters despite the wind Positives: Service, staff, cleanness (top top), room (definitely get the pool room) the facilities and the views. The food was very good but the desserts (especially choclate desserts) were the worst I ate. For dessert I could only have fruits. The beach bar was clean, they provide towels as much as you want but the beach bar also has its negatives please look at the below section for my negative comment. Negatives: The wind is sometimes unbearable. It is so strong that you cannot stay outside (we visited mid July). The cayo stone beach bar food is absolute abysmall. The service the personnel are really nice they are doing a very great job. But the menu is a disaster. I could not find one thing to order and the prices are 3-4 times the already overpriced neighboring places. For those prices you would expect to have some good food, very surprising. They should check the menu of the neighboring restaurants. The hotel is at the top so you need a shuttle service plus you take an finicular to your room. It is just too much effort to go down to the beach. The area itself is no different than Mykonos prices. For only dinner (2 people NO DRINKS) you pay 100 euros a night!!!!! This is insane like really insane. Also the restaurants at the shore have similar prices. So be ready to spend some serious money here.

Premium room with sea view

Very cozy, clean and comfortable hotel. We stayed in the premium room which was very nice located on top of the hill.

Excellent séjour. Le personnel d’accueil était au top. L’hôtel est somptueux. La chambre avec sa piscine privée et sa vue mer est magnifique Petit bémol pour un cinq étoiles, Bruits de perceuse à percussion le matin alors que nous étions encore dans la chambre.

Was für ein herrliches Resort!

Wenn Ihr eine schöne Lage, weit vom Tourismus für die Massen möchtet, Cayo ist das richtige! Wir wollten wegen Coronavirus etwas ruhiges mit guten Möglichkeiten zum Essen, Schwimmen und Relaxen vor Ort. Die Lage in Plaka/Elounda ist sowieso schön mit mehreren Luxus Resorts. Cayo is m.E. das Beste mit genau der richtigen Mischung von Luxus und Modernität. Staff war extra super freundlich. Üblich in Griechenland aber hier next Level. Privater Pool und Restaurants (3 Stück) waren fast täglich genutzt. Privater Strand was DIE Option mit komfortablen Liegen und Bedienung. Zum ersten Mal haben wir fast alles im Resort gemacht. Nicht unbedingt unsere Styl aber wir wollten jeden Moment geniessen. Wir haben ein paar andere Restaurants in der Nähe besucht. Alle waren OK, aber wir wollten immer zurück ins Hotel. Spa ist auch zu empfehlen mit vielen Möglichkeiten. Das einzige Minus: die Live Musik gehört nicht dazu. Einfach zu altmodisch und mit sehr wenig Mut und Leidenschaft von der zwei Singern. Also lieber etwas cooles, wie der Rest bitte.

Paradise in Crete

Dream hotel in beautiful Crete. Newly opened resort with great infra-structure and incredible service. The whole staff is well prepared and extremely friendly. The accomodation is very spacious and modern. Great provate pool with incredible ocean view.
