Great stay
Service by Natalia was excellent, we stayed just one night but we had a great experience. Tiny clean cozy room Good breakfast 15 minutes walk from « downtown » El calafate and the restaurants
Good location. You can walk to town in 15 minutes and it was close to a beautiful lake .
Great stay in a lovely, cozy, rustic hotel
Great stay in a lovely, cozy, rustic hotel in El Calafate
Breakfasts are not what they were! .. not very healthy- lots of sugar and reused food / not hot selection - juice is boxed and sugary - coffee dispenser broken and unhygienic. Restaurant has extremely poor selection- no afternoon tea offered anymore. Amenities getting tired and old - not particularly child friendly- staff were grumpy ( one lovely exception!) location being built out - no fan in the bathroom- only two teabags in room , no milk, no refreshments offered in room. Won’t be back.
Nice, friendly stay
Fantastic and super friendly staff! Room was clean and properly equipped, but a touch small. Good breakfast and dinner available on- site. Walking distance to town center.
We loved it and would go back
THis is the best hotel we stayed in Patagonia. THe room, breakfast and the kindness of the staff were unparalleled. It was a great value for what we paid too!
Maybe another time.
The water didn’t work for our stay. Maybe not their fault but obviously played a part in it not being our fave place ever. Front desk was awesome.
We found the hotel staff to be very helpful and loved the views! We would’ve enjoyed a larger breakfast selection and usually had to visit the local supermarket to stalk up on extra goods. The hotel was close to town, which was nice!! We were able to able to get around easily.
Excellent customer service
The service was top-notch. They held our bags while we went to visit the nearby glacier. The hotels feels more like a cosy B&B, with rustic charm, offering large bedrooms and nice garden view - plenty of spots to unwind with a good book. While for some being out of city may be difficult without a car, we enjoyed the quiet it provided. If you don't want to walk to town (~20mins), they offer dinner - must make reservations and pre-order.
Great hotel
The hotel food was beautiful and rooms really well set out. The staff spoke English very well and were most helpful. A gem of a hotel only 500 metres walk from the centre of town.
Friendly staff, very basic breakfast, paper thin wall, not Central enough
This hotel is a little gem, comfortable beds, good breakfast ,an option to eat (a well cooked)dinner there as well. Can't praise the place highly enough. 10 minute walk from main street. Friendly and helpful staff.
Close to nature reserve and lake
We stayed one night on our way to another city. The hotel is eclectic and cozy. The staff was very kind and let us borrow bicycles to ride around town, which we appreciated. Breakfast was freshly prepared—yogurt, bread, granola, juice.
This is very nice homey property. Small and personal. Price was $92 USD per night. Nice eating area for breakfast. We didn't take any other meals here though. The rooms were nicely decorated although small. A great location - quiet but within walking distance of downtown. Also close to a great birding area - Reserva Natural Laguna Nimez.. We would stay here again.
we moved
The room was tiny. The stairs were difficult especially with luggage. The staff was very nice but we moved to a different hotel in the same city for the remainder of our stay.
Nice hotel near the bird sanctuary
This hotel is quiet, a bit rustic and a short walk from the town center. It is located near the bird sanctuary and lagoon of Lagos Argentinos and while we hadn’t planned to visit, the sanctuary was both beautiful and relaxing in an otherwise busy visit. The hotel provides a very nice breakfast and dinner too if you make a reservation.
Staff and homemade breakfast are amazing.
Very nice hotel with terrific attention to details. Staff are extremely kind and helpful.
Quiet lodge on the edge of town
The hotel is about ten minutes walk from the centre of town, so was nice and quiet and rural. It's only a few minutes walk from the bird reserve next to the lake, which is well worth a visit. We were in the new annexe next door, which was nice and comfortable, although because of the wooden floors you could definitely hear people upstairs. Breakfast was nice, although not overly big - not an issue for us as we were usually up and out early. Lunch boxes were also provided for excursions, and parking was straightforward. Tea and muffins in the evening were a very nice, welcome touch after a long day out in the Patagonian wilds!
Like staying with family you like
The hotel staff is really welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. The tea time from 5-7 is a great way to relax. The dining room has a beautiful view of the lagoon. And the sitting area downstairs is a cozy place to relax. We were drinking our wine and they brought us some cheese to go with it. We really liked staying here.
small confortable room + nice personalized service
Good confort and nice personalized service. A bit away from main street but the 12' walk was never a burden to us. The room was small though, for a 4 nights stay.
Beautiful property, good character, breakfast
Amazing breakfast. Freshly made bread each day with home made jams, dulce de leche. Great decor of each room and common areas. Helpful staff.
Family Run. Family Oriented. Very Welcoming.
This Hotel is Family run. Immediately, you feel very comfortable. Staff were very hospitable, friendly & very helpful. After a fun day at the Glacier, rest & relaxation was what we wanted & was welcomed by the staff. Wifi was weak & sporadic our first day. But, much better the next day. I HIGHLY recommend making use of the FREE bicycles to ride to El Centro. It's a flat & not very far ride.
Great place - 15 mins to main square walking
Great place - 15 mins to main square walking. location is shady for walking at night but seemed ok - walking 15 mins to the city center.
There were three things that detracted from an otherwise wonderful experience at this hotel. Firstly, the location on expedia was incorrect so I thought I was booking somewhere closer to the centre of town. Whilst a 15 min walk isn't too long, it feels like forever at the end of an exhausting day. Secondly, the room and bathroom were a bit small (had to organise my suitcase on the bed) and thirdly there were problems with the credit card machine so it was quite stressful knowing if we were going to be able to settle our bill as we didn't have much cash with us and the ATMs in town kept running out of cash). The above said, if you are travelling with a car the distance won't be an issue. And if you don't have a car then make sure you book into the restaurant when you make your reservation so that you don't have to walk into town for a meal at the end of a tiring day! The restaurant is closed Sundays but open other days. It is a set meal and appears to vary nicely from day to day so you could eat there every night and not get sick of the food. There is also complimentary afternoon tea which is a nice touch!
Nice place
Nice place to stay, although a bit far from the center of town (location is not what you see on the map, check the hotel's website).
Good location and good basic hotel
Nothing fancy but it met the needs. 10 minute walk to town/ bus stop. Rooms large. Garden pleasant. Breakfast ok. Staff friendly but no help with organizing tours. Would stay again.
It's nice hotel near the lake
We were there for one night, it's good location for walking to to lake, but little bit far walk to the town center. Service is good and hotel is cozy with style.
Stylish hotel and excellent conditions
Thank you Lina and Alin-the people behind the comfort and chic style of this hotel. There is also a nice view to Lago Argentino and Nimes lagoon.Bravo.
Great hosts
A memorable stay at a charming hotel. The hosts were extremely helpful and considerate. Nothing was too much trouble. A real home away from home.
Comfortable!
Very pleasant hotel with large comfortable room. Located within easy walking distance of centre of El Calafate but make sure that you have a map showing hotel's position - the staff were very helpful in guiding me to the hotel!
We liked the location of the hotel being a little walk away from the center. It was quiet and peaceful. The view from the cafeteria was very scenic and the dinner was delicious. We enjoyed renting the bike to explore the near by area. The hosts were welcoming and warm and the staff were kind. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel very much.
Hidden gem
This place is nothing special from the outside, but warm and comfortable inside. The room is small, but sufficient. Carlos and his partner speak perfect English (and I overheard him speaking French as well), and they are very knowledgeable and accommodating. The hotel is close to the lagoon and sanctuary, but a bit of a walk from the main street. I think Hotels.com actually shows it closer than it really is. Still, it's only about a 15-minute walk. Breakfast is very simple, but they have a delightful tea service from 5 to 7pm, which is key to hold you over since dinner is served so late around town. The hotel also offers a set menu for dinner for extra, but we ate in town instead at Pura Vida (wonderful!!). This place is perfect if you're in town for the glacier and don't plan to spend a lot of time inside.
Nice friendly place to stay in El Calafate
A little out of town but near the lake so the view and quietness worth the 10 minute walk into town (and trips to the Glacier collect and drop off at the accomodation). Very friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Wifi good as well - no issue doing video calls etc. Breakfast was standard affair - though you can pay for extras if you want (fruit salad, eggs etc)
Perfect place, perfect hosts
A lovely and comfortable hotel with great attention to detail, decorated with very good taste and in true Patagonian style. Breakfast is delicious, with home made bread and pastries. Location is great, an easy walk to the town centre yet still feels very 'Patagonia'. But what really makes the place is the hospitality of Jose and his wife, who run Cauquenes to perfection and will do anything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible... We even borrowed some pants from Jose! They also gave us tips on what tours to take and where to have dinner, all worked out to be spot on!
Comfortable stay in Patagonia region
We enjoyed a very relaxing comfortable stay at Caquenes de Nimez in El Calafate, Argentina. The lady managing the hotel was very kind to even prepare us a morning snack bag as we had to leave very early for the drive to El Chalten. Hotel has modern fixtures and nice atmosphere. Very clean and good location. They were also kind to find our glasses and one passport that we left in the room and they called to inform us at our next hotel in El Chalten. Such nice people! We highly recommend Caquenes de Nimez and would stay there again in the future.
Saw flamingos from the deck
We really enjoyed our 3 nights here, Gabriel and Victoria were very helpful and helped us plan our outings with some great suggestions. The hotel is beautiful and clean, breakfast is served early and done so nicely. There is a bird sanctuary accross the way, we could se flamingos with our binoculars from the deck, a 5 minute walk to the center, was pleasant after a meal.
A perfect stay
Located next to lago Argentina this is the perfect place to stay. A small hotel with very nice decorated rooms. Wjo doesn't want to have breakfast with o view on the flamingoes. But most of all, the service is one of the best I've ever experienced and trust me, I travel a lot. The personel is not only outstanding in their service but also interested and very friendly. I had a perfect stay and would defenitely go back if the possibility is there. Thank you very much! Wilma

Very nice and confortable place.
Keurig hotel prijs kwaliteit is oke.
