Amazing staff and rooms. What an absolutely gorgeous hotel! It is also in a wonderful neighborhood and walkable with tons of food and entertainment options all around. The beds were extremely comfortable and everything was very clean. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Hotel is in a great location. Easy to walk to key tourist sites, but also easy to walk to areas like La Latina that are not so crowded with tourists. Plenty of amenities nearby. The room was a good size. Staff friendly and helpful. However it didn't seem good value for money. Usual things like slippers, robes or face towels were absent. Bottled water was complementary - for the first night only. In the interest of being environmental you are given a pack of 5 tissues in the bathroom - and it is not replenished unless you call and ask! Just felt like they were trying to short change us at every opportunity.

Great stay at this hotel! Clean, friendly staff and very convenient to restaurants, shopping and close to all downtown has to offer. Highly recommended!

Few days in Madrid.

We had a very good stay. Hotel is very well located, good rooms and nice staff.

We got to the hotel very early and the staff got us an early check in. They always gave us a hand to look for transportation when needed. The warmth of the staff, the cleanliness of the room and specially the bathroom, wow! I gave Catalonia del Sol in Madrid a standing ovation!!! Ricardo and Adlyn Puerto Rico June 2024

Perfect spot in central Madrid!

Excellent location! Could walk most anywhere. Quiet lobby and bar area. Quiet room. Beautifully restored stair well. Comfortable bed and linens.

Great hotel in a great location

A very nice hotel, well-situated near many restaurants. Our room was modest in size but very modern, clean, and comfortable. Fantastic bed. Soundproofing against street noise was remarkable. The breakfast buffet (extra charge) was impressive.

Staff were very helpful. Had some issues with air conditioning but they were quick to remedy. Location is fantastic. Walkable to most things. Would stay here again.

Cute hotel

The location and hotel itself was beautiful, our only issue with our stay was the water in the shower wouldn’t drain fast enough. The water almost spilled over multiple times, we’d have to stop the water from running in the middle of our showers to avoid an overflow. We told the front desk after the first night but didn’t really notice a difference the second night after housekeeping came in. Luckily we were only there for 2 nights.

Hotel was fabulous! The only issue we had was our rooms were extremely hot bc the hotel AC had not been turned on yet. We asked for a fan and got one right away but to pay what we paid and have to sleep in a stifling room for a few nights was a concern. We finally had AC on the last night bc it was turned on but it did not work well at all. So yes hotel and location are GREAT but the lack of a AC should have been better handled.

Looking for a modern boutique hotel with historic flare a short stroll from Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor? Then Catalonia Puerta del Sol is the hotel for you! I enjoyed a February two-night stay here in a comfortable room with a balcony overlooking bustling and buzzy Atocha (the thick windows provided a quiet sleeping environment.) I also appreciated the in-room Nespresso machine to satisfy my morning caffeine fix. The Catalonia Puerta del Sol staff was welcoming, and the hotel is near a few grocery stores--including a nice Carrefour Market by the lively Tirso de Molina--which I found handy. The Catalonia Puerta del Sol was the perfect way to end my first trip to Madrid. I'd happily return.

Nice and helpful staff

Beautiful boutique hotel and convenient walking distance to barrio las letras, quaint tapas bars, and puerta del sol.

Did not like the 2 single beds joined together to be called a double bed.

Location great. Did have a problem with the sewer making an unholy noise and mess at 3 in the morning. Thought due to thunderstorm.

The staff was excellent and accommodating. Although we arrived a couple of hours before check-in, they were able to provide us our room very soon after our arrival.... very much appreciated!

Very good location to stay near by and hotel staff was very helpful guiding us as being foreign tourists with the kids!!

No window in the room like the picture. No Ventilation in the bathroom. Room feels suffocating. It’s noisy when raining. I can hear loud rains dropping on the roof.

First time in Madrid and we could not have found a better accommodation! Place is beautiful and immaculate with wonderful staff plus it is within walking distance to everything! Would stay again! Great property located close to Sol and Plaza Mayor. Also very close to Anton Martin Metro stop. Rooms were very clean and nicely furnished. Would definitely stay here again.

Centrally Located

The hotel is centrally located. There are many restaurants, plazas, and sights to see. The room was comfortable and quiet.

Perfect Madrid Stay

We loved our stay! The hotel is very clean, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The optional breakfast was very good and had lots of hot and cold choices. Don’t miss the fresh squeezed orange juice! The location is close to two metro stops but is also within decent walking distance of many of the great sights of Madrid. If you are able to keep the windows closed, noise at night is not an issue. The bed was comfortable and the shower had good pressure and warmth.

We enjoyed our stays at Catelonia del Sol, Madrid! The staff was awesome!! Everyone was welcoming and helped us feel comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. The pillows are really nice! Towels were soft and fresh.

Location great for a vacation / tourist visit.

We really enjoyed our stay here! We were here for the whole week and it was in a convenient location. We were able to walk to tons of restaurants, shopping centers, the Prado and Retiro park, and Atocha train station. The staff was welcoming, and proactive in making sure all our needs were met. We will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends.

Best on site staff if any hotel I stayed in during my visit. Great breakfast buffet and bar on site

A brief solo stay

My stay at the Catalonia Puerta Del Sol was adequate. The room and bathroom were nice and spacious which I really enjoyed. The sheets had a bit of stains on the edge as well as some holes. The bathtub also wasn’t fully clean when I arrived. After prompted to share how my arrival went with Hotels.com, I wrote about these issues and the management/staff delivered a letter apologizing for the issues and that they relayed the information to the cleaning staff. The check-in staff were nice and did their jobs well. I had no issues while in this hotel. I also felt safe throughout my stay which is very important to me as a young solo traveler.

Perfect Stay in Madrid

Spacious and comfortable room. Convenient for walking to main points if interest in old Madrid. Great dining options in Plaza Santa Ana which is very close nearby. Friendly and solicitous staff. We would definitely stay there again.

We love staying in this hotel. It is well located with a lot of places to go by walking. Is clean and modern. The staff is very friendly.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. Everything we wanted to see was in walking distance and there were so many options for food. The rooms were kept clean and we had no issues with noise.

Quick and friendly check in and out. Loved the superior suite. It was quiet even though it was on the first floor and facing the street. Very clean and great amenities! The location was perfect for me and my friend. We walked everywhere.

Great start to out 6 weeks of traveling

The hotel was perfect, a great area, very accommodating as we arrived at 9:00 am after a cross Atlantic flight and had a room to lounge and meet friends until our room was ready. Hope to return again,

Center City Winner

Super location. Close to art museums, markets and major sites. Many good bars & restaurants in this area. Easy walk to train station. I recommend this hotel for center city visits.

Excellent , great location

Great location and very nice, clean, stylish room with everything you may need. The stuff was pleasant and very helpful if not immediately communicating everything we needed to know. One slight drawback was that the wifi was unsecured so we had trouble using it to log in to company intranets. We really loved the hotel prepared a bed and bowls for our dog - very nice touch!

Pleasant hotel in good location

The hotel has a beautiful design and the rooms are spacious enough. We missed having service at the bar and no breakfast but this might be due to COVID -19. Front desk staff was confused about the payment so that was a little frustrating but overall we had a good experience.

It looked like a great option...but turned out bad

Beautiful hotel and well located. Rooms are not big, even if you pay extra, as i did for a superior room with views. My window did not close, and reported it before going out for dinner. When i got back 3 hours later, door was still broken. Ended up changing rooms at midnight, to a smaller room. Thoug one person apologized, they did not do anything for me to feel better, or compensate the situation, no extras, no discount on the premium..nothing.
