Great location, excellent service.
Excellent location, comfortable rooms and nice staff. This hotel is located 3 blocks away from Serrano and it is full of good shopping around. Walking distance to Puerta de Alcalá and El Retiro park.
Excelente opción para hospedarse en una de las mejores zonas de Madrid
The location was good. The hotel is more of a 3.5-star hotel
Pleasant hotel
Staff was very pleasant. Bed comfortable. Room kind of small. Breakfast decent. Need more outlets for charging devices.
Some work / renovation was talking place but good overall
close to metro stations, nice rooms
Excellent as usual.
It was a very short stay, but excellent service. Beautiful rooms.
Recomendadisimo!
Me quede una noche con mi hijo. Todo super! Hotel bien situado al lado de restaurantes y tiendas, habitaciones super cómodas, todo super limpio, personal amable. Me volveria a quedar!
Overall no complaints. Only small thing is that we been told that our luggages are in our room but not there when we get there. No complementary water until next day.
As expected 👍
It was very convenient to my business meetings. I could walk everywhere from the hotel. The staff was very nice.
best location
The hotel was spotless and very comfortable. Excellent design and layout. Room staff was exceptional, many thanks to Juan Carlos I think it was! Location from metro is excellent too.
We arrived at 06:15am, after a red eye flight, way too early for check in…. but the front desk personal was so kind that they got us into our room by 08:30am We where so glad they did dad, because we really needed to sleep on a bed.
Great location - close to museums - shopping
Good
The hotel is very well located, surrounded by lots of stores, restaurants, bars and other services
Aunque las habitaciones son comodas el lobby y restaruante no estan al nivel de un hotel de 4*.
Old building.
Very nice hotel
Very nice stay, Hotel very well situated, people extremely friendly and professional the only negative detail is that the rooms are too small.
Location
The rooms are updated and clean. The staff is very friendly. The only thing is that they only have one elevator so if you are in the higher floors you will end up waiting for the elevator long time
Awesome hotel in the heart of Madrid
Hotel Catalonia Goya is located in a great neighborhood easy shopping like Cortes Ingles and much more boutiques like store. Walkable and easy access to taxis .
EXCELLENT HOTEL!
TREMENDOUS LOCATION, VERY COMFORTABLE ROOM AND VERY CLEAN. EXCELLENT!
Madrid after 40 yeras it loks just fine!!
The stay experience was fantastic all the staff was very helpful and friendly the breakfast was great as well as the bar.
Staff was helpful and made every effort to make me feel comfortable at this facility. Room was more than I expected had 2 windows overlooking Goya street and even though it was a rainy week I had the chance to briefly see sunlight filtering and I loved it. Breakfast buffet was good, not so abundant as other hotels in same area but more than enough for me. I stayed in three different hotels in Salamanca district from 11/24/23 to 12/1/23 and definitely I will be coming back to Catalonia. Excellent option if you enjoy walking, shopping and good food, plenty of cafes around, El Corte Ingles a couple of blocks away and several good seafood restaurantes around.
Extremely helpful staff in all areas of the business. Great hotel and location and have stayed here several times
Super handy place in a good area. Smart, friendly and clean and easy access to multiple neighborhoods. Am planning to stay there many more times!
Good hotel in great location in Salamanca.
No ves la luz del día hasta que no salís del hotel. Saque premium y la ventana media 30cm y deba a un grison patio. El desayuno es en un sótano, el gym en otro, el bar sin ventanas.
My favorite hotel in Madrid.
Love this small hotel! Close to everything walking distance to the best restaurants and shopping streets between 5-12mins. The staff was very friendly and helpful, with front desk open 24 hours. The room is big and the bathroom too, very spacious. Everything nice and clean, specially the bathroom which for me IS A MUST! Blackout curtains, good soundproofing and great beds and pillows. Overall the hotel is really nice and comfortable and offers everything you might need, location wise is great, the staff is very hospitable, we enjoyed our stay a lot and slept well. The only suggestion I would make is they should add power outlets in both sides of the bed as we only had on one side, and add at least one with USB port. Would definitely stay again!
Toilet didn’t work for a day and they couldn’t fix it. Asked for a plunger and they said they didn’t have one. How does a hotel not have one? Couldn’t use the bathroom for almost a whole day. Horrible experience! Just got a sorry and didn’t even try to help. Just awful experience. We were in a family room with two small children and had to go to the bar bathroom. When asked for a solution they didn’t have one.
Area
Nice room
Good choice for a Madrid trip
Friendly staff, good location but the "swimming" pool was more of a water feature! No changing room either. Still 8/10 all round.
The building AC was out. Hours for breakfast were inadequate.
Clean, comfortable, quiet. Air con was just a bit inadequate to cool the room sufficiently
Very good overall stay.
Roberto was fantastic!
Excellent communication, Roberto and check-in very efficient. Roberto went the extra mile to ensure our stay was perfect and will definately return to this hotel when next in Madrid. Thank you for our perfect stay. Ruthie
Didn't have a room when I got there
Would stay here again!!
It was a wonderful hotel. Great location. 20 minutes from the airport. Our room had a mini bar. Super modern and cute. Beds were super comfortable. Black out curtains. The hotel had a little bar. And lovely little outdoor patio. Romeo and Juliet balcony form the room.
Great location ! Even though they are doing construction hotel was really clean
Comfortable room. Helpful staff. Will have to wait until tomorrow for my response as to breakfast.
The staff is amazing and we had a great time with our dogs. Highly recommend for a pet friendly holiday. Room is well sized and equipped, blackout curtains are really good, slept until 11am thinking it was dawn
Best location in Salamanca.
I like everything
Great place
Excellent
GREAT HOTEL IN A GREAT LOCATION
Great location, friendly and helpful staff, value for money
Scam artists. I had a confirmed booking at this hotel. When I got off the taxi, a couple were standing outside with their luggage and they warned me about the hotel. I thought they were crazy because my reservation was confirmed. Then went inside to check in, the receptionist told me my room is not available and then he offered to send me to a random other location in Madrid. I told him that my room was confirmed, but he said they are booked. I was in town for only 1 day and it was important to me to stay in a central location. I refused their offer to be sent to a different location and tried booking another hotel again. Then I saw that the same hotel still had rooms available. So I made another booking right there, the receptionist looked at his computer and said that the number of rooms they show online is different from actual number of rooms they have!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think they had some event or something going on and they were giving rooms to other people. It was an extremely frustrating experience after a long flight, when I just needed a room to crash.
Good, no hot water
The room is perfect. Clean and modern. The say “Location location location” applies to this unit. There was no hot water in the morning before travelling, and therefore I had to take a cold shower in the morning which got me coughing for couple of days
The hotel was ok. They charged extra dor a third tennager which was kind of odd.
Very good location and very friendly staff! Just by the Velazquez metro station.
great hotel in the Salamanca area !
Wonderful! The hotel has an ideal location, ample rooms and great service . My only complaint would be that they kept sending e mails for e check in in advance and I couldn’t do it. And also they sent me an e mail from Hotles.com with the wrong name, but that is not on the hotel that is on the platform which has been having problems
T
More like a 3.5* hotel. Adequate but not more. Feels a bit tired and in need of an overhaul. Breakfast was good. Location is very good.
air conditioning was not working.
Clean and old hotel.
Breakfast is crazy expensive at 17 euros per day. You can eat next to the hotel for lest than 5 euros a full breakfast. TV is small and the lift is really small so it needs a lot of time to go up or down. Other than that was ok, i will probably not stay there again but i sleep good and everything was clean. The location is not bad. To me it is more a 2-3 star hotel maximun.
Dog friendly hotel
Good comfortable stay with all tghe amenities you'd expect, very friendly staff. I had my dog with me who was happy... I was surprised at the large dog related deposit, but its not a problem, he a good pup and I understand that I'll get it back. I parked off site, I would of appreciated cheaper parking closer to the hotel but I think thats outside the hotels powers.. Im already planning to return next week!
Not bad.
Not a bad hotel... room was a little small. Main issue is that they did not have enough staff at reception which meant it took almost 1 hour to check in.
well located but a bit outdated interiors. staff not very friendly. bathrooms were smelly. the hotel doesnt have a lobby. its a hallway. i wouldnt stay there again.
It’s a little expensive for what they offer. The only plus is the location
There was a long wait for check-in and the women at the front desk didn't appear to know exactly what she was doing. The room was also a bit dated and parts of the wall seems to be falling apart. This place needs a little work and is not a typical 4 star.
All the staff were extremely helpful and the room is kept very clean.
Room was not noise proof, any minimum noise was heard and sometimes scaring when sleeping
Location is perfect, I love this city and its food
Clean and good location. Near bus and train stations. Supermarkets, bars and restaurants are walking distance.
Location is great. Food and service are very good. Room is clean and spacious.
Cell Phone included?!
Love that they gave me a local cell phone to use as part of my room while I was there! What a pleasant surprise! Staff was quick, competent, and friendly. Location was great, yet quiet. Great price for clean, modern, and comfortable.
The front desk is very friendly. The room is very adequate.
Has a poor Lobby and not enough personal to take care of your needs
Great property not too far from the center of Madrid. Metro station right outside of the hotel that can get you to anywhere in the city in minutes! Great stay
Excellent hotel
The room was large by European standards. The hotel staff excellent and knowledgeable. The local area wonderful -- ice cream shop next door and a 7 min walk to the largest park in Madrid. The price awesome! Can't be beat.
We liked the great location. We did not like that the bar was not attended. Suggest a bell or button be installed by the bar to be used to request service
Very helpful and friendly staff, great location and amenities.
Lobby was not very nice. Room smelled of smoke a little bit. Location was ok.
It was very good
Good location Noisy room at night - poor intrtnal sound proofing
Very nice people, very nice room, excelent location.
Lovely hotel in Barcelona - with amazing service!
Loved the hotel- great accommodations and so well taken care of!
the hotel has a good location , but the reception is not ajust a little area that doesnt give a good impresión when you arrive
A place to keep luggage in order to travel with not all the bags
Hotel Catalonia Goya
Overall I had a very nice stay at this property. The hotel is well located, directly beside a metro station (Velasquez). The standard rooms face an interior courtyard, but I found the quietness nice, as I like to sleep with the windows open. The only issues with the room were the sound proofing and shower. You can hear most noises from the hallway, other rooms etc. The bathroom was lovely, except it was difficult to shower without getting water all over. The staff were all excellent.
Comfortable if unremarkable hotel
Comfortable hotel located on the edge of the city centre near Velazquez metro, shops and restaurants, a few minutes walk to the fantastic El Retiro Park. My room faced a light well so no views :-( . No coffee or free water either. But staff friendly and efficient and the room rate was very good so overall quite happy.
EVEN WHEN THERE WHERE ROOMS READY THEY REFUSED TO GIVE US A ROOM BEFORE CHECK IN TIME
Rome advertises as a king bed and it was 2 twins put together. STRONG smell of cigarettes and i requested a non smoking room. The air conditioner made a whining sound the entire night when I told hotel staff they said that's the way it is. Room was dusty and Bathroom shower had soap scum all over.
Poor customer service
We booked the hotel on Expedia months ahead with a king bed selected. When given our room with 2 single beds, they told us that the selected king bed was only a request and the only room available was this tired room, in poor condition, with 2 single beds. For an extra 20 euros per night they said they could upgrade us and we would get a room with a King bed. After much discussion they gave us the room with the King bed. We didn't believe they would charge us the extra thinking they were doing the right thing. Next the air conditioning didn't work for 3 of the 4 days we were there. When we complained, they lied to us saying nobody else had complained. We learned later the whole hotel didn't have aircon. On check out they insisted we pay the 80 euros for an upgrade to a room we selected in the first place and with no aircon for 3 days. It was hot in Madrid. This doesn't reflect well on Expedia if selected rooms are just 'a preference' and as for the hotel, the staff were rude and we feel ripped off for having to pay extra for a room we selected in the first place with no aircon to boot. I am sure any decent hotel would have given us the room and bed we requested and informed their clients that the aircon was malfunctioning and they were trying to have it fixed.
Nice hotel in excellent neighborhood
We were accommodated when we arrived in a small room with almost no air conditioning. When we complained they moved us to a very good room. The hotel is located in a very safe neighborhood, with walking distances to many points of interest.
Good location, very helpful staf, no lobby, shower tub would not drain, heating and cooling did not work well and temperarure would fluctuate out of control.
Now my permanent choice of hotel in Madrid!
This was my second stay in this hotel, and I can see why I will make it my permanent choice in Madrid. The reception staff are very friendly. The rooms are well appointed, with a good and spacious bathroom, with excellent amenities. The location is excellent in the Barrio Salamanca, good for shopping. A fine breakfast. The Wifi worked well.
Excellent place.
Very nice hotel in the Salamanca Barrio in Madrid
Great location and awesome rooms :) If you're visiting for somedays and you're on budget, this is no-brainer.
Right in Goya shopping area
Small hardly noticeable hotel right in Goya shopping area. One night stay, all went fine.
Good management of a bad situation.
I was advised the previous day that the Hotel chain had changed my hotel due to an error in the system. I actually stayed at Catalonia Las Cortes. The problem was dealt with in an efficient manner. The alternative hotel was plesant, I received a free upgrade and a free breakfast to offst any inconvenience. I was impresssed by the friendliness and efficiency of the staff, the room was great and had all I needed for an overnight stay.
Upscale yet affordable
Beautiful large room with an outstanding view of the Calle de Goya. King size bed. Hotel is located in the expensive shopping part of town. I that’s your thing. This is a good place for you. Close to the Prado and Retiro Park. Not many late night food options.

The room was great and the staff was very helpful. The only complaint I have was the room service pizza was very bad. Otherwise this hotel was fantastic!
