Nice hotel in the heart of the Eixample neighborhood. Good base of operations.

Location was good for all local attractions, staff very helpful , we had a double room with a terrace which is well worth the extra . Pool not really a pool too small . Bathroom need updating and sound proofing needs improving , could hear other rooms alarm clocks and phones ringing . Water bottle was not replenished. Just as an FYI there was only 2 English speaking channels

Spent 8 nights in a room with a private terrace pool for my partner’s birthday. We absolutely loved everything about it! It was clear to us that the hotel has done some renovations but not all the rooms were done (but there was no ongoing renovation, so nice and quiet with no mess) Luckily we ended up in a renovated room which was excellent! The terrace was superb and made us spend about half of our holiday on our plunge pool as it was perfect for 2. Everything about the pool seemed considered- perfect height and length and everything you could want in the scorching Barcelona sun. It felt private, not particularly overlooked which was amazing! The bathroom was nice and big as well with a lovely large shower that again was perfect for 2. The actual room admittedly is not very large but it did not matter to us as we spent most of our time in the terrace. The bed was massive and very comfortable. Hotel breakfast is pretty decent. The rooftop pool and bar are both lovely but again didn’t really spend any time in it. Location was also very good with a good variety of food, shopping and transport links. Overall as a regular visitor to Barcelona this has probably been the best hotel room we have had there and look forward to returning! Highly recommend!

The staff were so professional and friendly. The hotel is fresh and recently renovated. It was immaculate. The rooftop pool and bar was a perfect way to end the day. The concierge recommended and made all our dinner reservations which were all excellent. The booked us to see an amazing Flamenco show. Vasili, Augusto and Leslie and all the other staff we dealt with provided outstanding service!

Great hotel in a wonderful location.

Wonderful stay. Friendly staff, breakfast was lovely, roof top pool much needed in the hot sun. We had a terrace room which was great. Would definitely recommend as ideal location for Sagrada Familia, la Rambla etc.

Great central location to monuments and food. Room and bed was excellent, except the king was two king singles put together, but it was no problem. The rooftop pool is spectacular for swimming and sunset is amazing over the city. Would definitely stay here again if the price was right ✅️

Catalonia Eixample 1864 was conveniently located to many common attractions in Barcelona. The front desk staff was courteous and helpful in directing us to taxis, restaurants, and attractions. The pool was a big hit with the kids (pre-teen) but it was small and mostly overrun with an adult crowd. We also used the self-parking garage which was located on site and reasonably priced. We would definitely stay at this property again.

We stayed here four nights. The hotel is located in a great area. Walkable to sights, restaurants, grocery stores, shopping. We had a room with a terrace. I recommend this. The rooms are a little small so the terrace was a big benefit. Lovely rooftop pool and lounge area. Quiet and clean.

Excellent hotel. Fun rooftop bar and pool. Comfortable room two twins together. Only problem is that one of the two lifts was broken! Not good for a 6 floor hotel. Heat large breakfast choices

Even the Premium rooms are very small. Only one lift working for six floors and extensive street works outside starting at 9.00 each morning. I booked a double room and was given two single beds pushed together...to be told that because i booked via Expedia rather than directly with the property any rooms were on an availability basis!! Avoid...you can find better in the same area

The air conditioning was adjusted to the winter mode. When temperature going up the a/c did not work. Very difficult to sleep.

Barcelona is an amazing place to holiday! And the hotel was superb and so well positioned as it wasn't on the high street but nicely placed within a 5 minute walk.

I know others have said the AC doesn't work, ours worked fine except the lowest fan setting didn't, the positioning of the vents though blows the air onto the head of your bed. Bit dishonest to say this place has a pool, plunge pool at best and the water looked green. Rooms aren't finished very well (bad tiling, bad paint job, leaks in the bathroom). All beds are singles placed side by side, no such thing here as a Queen etc.. despite as how they are listed. Breakfast buffet was good, real coffee (not capsule rubbish), freshly squeezed OJ machine, donuts & pastries, egg bar, and great friendly staff. The best thing about this place would have to be the location and the staff here are great and accommodating,

Clean Nice area comfort room.

Overall was good. Located in a nice quiet area. The room was clean. It’s a bit small for group of 3 if stay longer than a few nights. I wasn’t impressed with the staff who checked me in. Partly I can understand that he was alone and the phone keep ringing. Also my debit card didn’t work when I tried to make payment but that doesn’t mean I have no other card to pay for. Other than this the rest of staff was friendly, check out was smooth.

This hotel was in a great location - near a ton of good eats and close to local attractions & access to metro/local transport. All of the staff members we dealt with were amazing and were extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating!!! Perhaps the only observation that may need attention is for the air conditioning unit and/or ventilation system to be looked at and cleaned in room 514 so as to freshen the smell in the room. Other than this observation, everything was great! Thank you for your warm welcome!!!

Very clean and bigger than other hotels In the area

Room to small to fit suitcase. Beds are extremely uncomfortable.

Everything about the hotel was perfect except there was no bathtub. Only a shower. I do a lot of walking on these trips and really need a hot bathtub to ease my muscles at the end of the day. The shower was great but there is nothing like a tub for trips like these.

Very disappointing

Hotel was in reasonable location , about 20 minute walk from la Rambla. We were in small room , stuffy with no ventilation , air conditioning temperamental . In addition there was an underlying odour from drains which got progressively more marked until on our last night I could not sleep as was nauseous with pungent smell . I advised reception before check out the following morning , Raoul checked room and noted smell , he spoke to management who were not interested . Housekeeping was generally inadequate , I had to phone each day for top up if toiletries as this had not been done . On a positive note reception staff were helpful when asked for. directions and porter was also helpful with luggage and taxis . My friend and her daughter were in a neighbouring less expensive hotel and a much more enjoyable experience . I couldn't wait to get out of there .

The only great thing about this hotel was the outdoor roof top pool I have to say. The rooms are very basic for the price I paid. Not much to it. Great views from rooftop though! Thank you for letting me stay here.

I highly recommend this hotel, if you want to stay in a beautiful and centric area but don't want to deal with big crowds. Its like a 15 minutes walk to the city center and La Rambla. The hotel is close to many tourist attractions making it a great choice. The rooms are spacious and very modern. It has all the amenities of a big chain. A good restaurant and a lobby bar and cafeteria. The front desk staff is friendly, attentive and very helpful.

Not satisfied

No iron in the room for a 4 star hotel. When I called to ask for iron, there was no available and was told to ask again in the morning. I asked for it in the morning, they said it will be brought to my room but they never did. I had to ask again. My key cards stopped working, when I told the reception they did not even apologise, but just fixed it.. I did not see any exhaust fan in the bathroom. When I took a hot shower, it was all steamy and thick in the room, i was afraid the fire alarm could detect and make a false alarm.

Bigger room/bathroom for a European hotel. Never crowded. Staff was always so nice when addressed directly. Great breakfast buffet with pre packaged GF breads if needed. 10 min or less walk to the Plaza Catalonia. Little snacks on each floor during the day. Good tea selection in the room and by the elevator. Slightly odd: there were literally NO drawers in our room. The closet had hangers and some shelves that along with packing cubes, worked fine. Had to get our key card replaced twice over the week, but that took only a minute to do. The bathroom door didn’t close all the way and is frosted glass. Less than ideal: the room air con is barely helpful (very common in Europe) so we slept with the window slightly open. I loved that the window opened though! This wouldn’t work if you don’t like street noise. Solid property, would return and will recommend to my travel clients.

I was very disappointed in the this hotel and with the staff at the front desk. I travel often and the level of service provided make it a 2-3 star hotel. It was not worth what I paid for it. I would pay the extra $50-100 and stay at the renaissance on the next corner. We were a party of three and the room was pretty small. No room for your luggage or bags. I asked for a larger room and was told all the rooms are all the same size and we should of consider the lofts during booking and that none were available. Also they inaccurately charged my cc with the conversion instead of Euro at checkin which caused me to pay even more for the hotel. I was told they can refund the transaction and reprocess but I would still lose the fee that I was charged for the conversion. Both instances they did nothing for the inconvenience. Since the building is a historical building, the buildings and rooms are outdated. The safe was not secured to anything. You can literally pick it up and take it out of the room. No luggage racks in room. No iron or iron table. Both available upon request though. Limited toiletries in the bathroom. I also found two little insects in the bathroom and what appeared to be feces on first sheet of toilet paper. AC/Heat not controllable. Room was extremely hot. Some Highlights : Rooftop is nice to relax. Bar and Restaurant on site Gym on site Coffee and Supermarket across the street Cell phone in room you can take with u during your visit

Room was very warm. Couldnt get the AC to work. Check in was appauling. Male member (Jordi) left us wairing at reception while he made a call on his mobile phone and then proceeded to stay on his phone while checking us in. Very unprofessional

Great hotel

The location was perfect for me, a short walk away from a range of attractions without being in the busiest area. The staff were friendly at check-in and I love that the hotel has a 24 hour gym albeit small. The rooftop pool and sun lounge area was also a nice feature. There was one day that I asked the housekeeping to clean my room as I left and when I returned they had put the do not disturb sign on my room and not cleaned it. This was very strange but I can easily go a day without housekeeping so no big deal for me.

Hotel Eixample break.

We stayed at this hotel for the 4th time as we are frequent visitors to Barcelona. Everything is consistently good .......though not cheap, we always return there. The hotel is classy ......extremely clean, staff are lovely & efficient. Wonderful rooftop pool & sunbathing area. Hotel is ideally placed to the Playa De La Catalunya square ....about 15 mins walk. Breakfast choices are very good .....we've never took advantage of other meal times as we travel around. Looking forward to meeting them there again soon !

Good hotel: room too hot

Great room facilities, polite staff, nice layout to the hotel in a good location, convenient for the office and public transport facilities. The only problem was the environmental controls in the room: it was far too warm in there, but still being March, not so warm outside. So the controls only provided heat meaning that when I made the mistake of leaving on what I thought was AC I was in fact heating the room to tropical temperatures. Too noisy to have the windows wide open and in any case, windows open and curtains closed was not an option, so a rather uncomfortable night.

Perfect location in Barcelona. 2 blocks away from Passeig de Gracia and 10 mins walk to El Borne and Gothic Quarter. Lots of nearby Bars and Restaurants. Hotel staff was very friendly and always ready to help. Although the hotel is under restoration, the rooms were quite comfortable.

Overall it was 7/10. I had a mini fridge in my room so I helped myself. When I checked out, I was charged £28. This is something the staff should have told me about??? Would of made me think twice
