Friendly stuff!

This is a very small hotel that is not well taken care of. Needs a lot of updating. The rooms are very small with twin beds and no comforters. They leave sheets so you have to make the bed yourself and towels are only given every four days. The best thing about the hotel is the restaurant. The chef is very good, but the service is not.

Everyone was very friendly and the hotel was nice. It worked great for my 3 kids and I. The only trick was that the air conditioner was in one room and not the other so we had to leave the door to the room open to let it even out a bit.

Great central location, close to Heraklion port

Everything was well organized and maintained. The hotel restaurant was excellent also.

I was there in middle of May and place was quiet empty, no children for me that was very important. Good, cheap connection to Heraklion centre by bus. Staff absolutely amazing, friendly Good value for money

Not sure to stay here again

This hotel is not a THREE Star hotel. What kind of hotel does not change your linens, or towels and doesn't even provide soap in the bathroom during a two night stay? The room is small and essentially has two beds and no desk or sit down area in the room. Yes, the price was right but not impressed with this hotel at all. There was free wifi but only in the lobby. The breakfast was 5 euro per person and was not impressive at all. I had to promise my spouse we would not stay here again. Perhaps for a student on limited funds, yes but not grownups. Its a one star at best. The neighborhood, however, is nice to walk along and to visit all the shops and nicer restaurants and that might be the biggest incentive to stay here.

Great place for a budget

We stayed in this hotel for the second time, before the early flight out of Heraklion. It is only 15 minute drive from the airport, and 5-minute walk from the beach. Rooms are clean, air-conditioned. It has free parking. Restaurant is in in the hotel, with a nice, moderately priced menu. Staff was helpful. Even though we reserved a room for two, we were given a one-bedroom apartment with a kitchnet for the same price. It was just a very good deal. As for a mix-up with the other hotel, we too were sent to the wrong one by the service personnel of some resort place where we asked for the directions. The name of tthe place we stayed at is "Castro", the other one is in the center of Heraklion and named "Kastro". To be sure, just take highway 90 from the airport and go till Ammoudara exit. From exit take right, drive half a kilometer/kilometer, and at the light under the bridge make left. Go till the road splits in two and take the right one. After another 2-3 kilometers, on the left, there will be hotel "Castro".

Stay somewhere else!

Be Warned - this hotel has three blocks - two newer modern ones at the rear by the pool & the original hotel which is on a very NOISY road. The rooms have zero soundproofing - we were kept awake by neighbours rowing, a baby crying in a room at the opposite end of the corridor, footsteps above, clattering below & traffic! Air con is next to useless, TV has greek channels only & if you open the balcony windows in the evening there are visiting cockroaches. Breakfast was variably adequate, cornflakes reliably stale. The staff were less than helpful + speak minimal English. On the plus side, the pool is nice, the location has a reasonable beach & bus service to Heraklion & airport stops right outside the hotel every 20mins - you have to buy tickets from a supermarket first though, you can't buy them on the bus.

There are 2 Castro Hotels in Heraklion, went to the other one first so was expecting a more central location. Room was very small, shower so small hard to move w/o hitting fixtures, but all very clean. Some staff overly-attentive in a smarmy way, restaurant was very noisy until late at night and noise heard easily in room. Nice pool area. On main road, about 1 km from beach.

Horrible service

Got overcharged and they could not even explain why. They could not even provide a receipt if cash payment. I am very disappointed and will never return there. Recommend everyone to stay away to avoid unpleasant surprises when checking out

Not bad for budget

Clean, good location to catch bus, and nice staff. Breakfast wasn't too bad either.

Zimmer sehr klein.Wussten nicht wo wir unsere beiden Koffer unterbringen sollten.Das uns zugeteilten Zimmer wurde bei Ankunft von der Rezeption als Upgrade angepriesen.Dann möchte ich nicht die ursprünglich gebuchte Standartkategorie sehen. Wir würden in einem von zwei Zimmer im Erdgeschoss des Haupthauses untergebracht.Unmittelbar neben der Rezeption,dem Restaurant und der Küche sowie dem Treppenaufgang zu den oberen Stockwerken.Außen vorm sogenannten Balkon war der Parkplatz und der Zugang zum Pool. Bedeutend Abends erst nach 24 Uhr etwas Ruhe,schlimmer früh morgens so um 5 Uhr bereitete die Küche das Frühstück vor,wurden im Restaurant die Stühle und Tische wieder zurechtgerückt. Alles in allem,noch nie so ein schlechtes Hotel gehabt. Ausnahme war das Restaurant eher überdurchschnittlich und das Personal

Etablissement au bon rapport qualité/prix, située à proximité de la plage, des restaurants et des commerces. Au calme. Piscine sympathique. Convient pour une halte de 2 à 3 jours.

Bon séjour

Bon séjour de 3 nuits dans l’hôtel. Chambre spacieuse mais peu insonorisée. Les portes claquent facilement malheureusement. Petit-déjeuner inclus, plutôt varié mais manque de produits sucrés (viennoiseries ou autre). Accueil et personnel très agréable.

hôtel bien situé, proche de l'aeroport et à quelques pas de la mer.Chambre avec le minimum, salle de bain petite mais propre.Par contre petit déjeuner imposé, tous les jours different mais beaucoup trop de salé à mon goût, pas de céréales et jus fluo, ça pourrait ressembler à de l'orange mais pas vraiment. Patron et personnel sympathique.

Nous avons aimé l'accueil du personnel durant tout le séjour + leur écoute. Le quartier Amoudara riche en taverne restaurant supermarket, magasins souvenirs. La proximité de la Plage à l'hotel environ 300m.

War alles in Ordnung. Absolut empfehlenswert. Gerne wieder. Auf ein nächstes Mal.

Non adatto a famiglie con in viaggio con il proprio cangnolino, anche piccolo. Il personale dell'hotel con modi poco cortesi te lo fa capire. Siccome avevamo già prenotato una sola notte per partenza molto presto per aereo di rientro mi sono adeguato a dormire in auto con la compagnia del mio cane; ovviamente il personale dell'hotel bussava in camera per controllare se c'era il cane.... pensando che facessimo i furbi. Probabilmente è abituato ad una certa clientela ... Da EVITARE (...evitare anche i clienti presenti in piscina ..)

Snälla svara på det här hotels, hotelet vägrade ge oss frukost för att de inta hade den infon på sitt paper som de vissade oss tyvärr hade jag bara utskrift på Svenska där det stod att frukosten var kostnads fri de va otrevliga och vi fick ingen frukost som enligt vår bokning skulle ingå. Vi översatte även den svenska texten till Grekiska men då visade de deras boknings bekräftelse och jämförde med en annans där det stod tydligare att frukosten var inkludera VI är jätte besvikna på hotel och personal använd aldrig rabatt kupongen den var en stor flopp

Non molto soddisfatta!

La camera non era pulitissima. La colazione non molto abbondante e sempre le solite cose. Un pò rumoroso visto la vicinanza della strada.Nel complesso però non siamo stati malissimo ma poteva andare meglio.

Chambre confortable

Je suis satisfaite ,dans l'ensemble ,du confort de la chambre et du service..Cependant,j'aurais souhaité être attendue à mon arrivée(autour de 20H40),car le manager était absent,et il a fallu lui téléphoner pour m'annoncer.En revanche,quand,par la suite, j'ai eu besoin d'informations concernant certaines excursions,ainsi que l'accès à certaines chaînes TV,il s'est montré coopératif . Les équipements de l'hôtel sont satisfaisants,et son emplacement également,car l'arrêt de bus se trouve devant sa porte.Si l'on a envie de se baigner,la plage est très proche(valable pour le plein été).

Emplacement stratégique près de l'aéroport

Bon rapport qualité/prix , excellent emplacement pour une arrivée tardive à l'aéroport d'Heraklion. Pas recommandé pour de longs séjours mais tavernes à proximité.

Ich habe das Hotelzimmer nur zum schlafen gebraucht, da ich für drei Wochen ein Auto gemeietet hatte um das Land kennen zu lernen. Im Zimmer war allerdings alles vorhanden aber ohne Komfort und das Zimmer war ruhig. Wären es Ferien gewesen, bei denen das Hotelzimmer ein wichtiger Bestandteil der Ferien gewesen wären hätte ich sehrwahrscheinlich von Anfang an ein anderes Hotel gewählt oder mir die Zimmer in den beiden neuen Hotelgebäuden zeigen lassen. Ich war im ältesten Teil des Hotels, kann daher die anderen Zimmer in den beiden neuen Hotelgebäuden nicht beurteilen. Das Restaurant des Hotels ist eher überdurchschnittlich, die Poolanlage ist gemütlich und schön. Das Hotel bietet Gratis Autoparkplatze an. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und immer zuvorkommend der Service war gut.

Ein schönes ort zum arbeiten und Urlaub machen. Aufjeden fall zum empfehlen.

hotel à 8km du centre ville d'Heraklion

J'ai passé un second bon sejour dans cette hotel. La nourriture du restaurant etait bonne.Le petit déjeuner etait léger. La chambre etait confortable. La piscine etait sympa. La plage etait à 500m. Il y avait des restaurants et des superettes dans la rue de l'hotel. Un bus s'arrêtant devant l'hotel amenait au centre ville.

A 500m de la plage, a 8km du centre d'heraklion

J'ai passé un bon sejour à l'hotel Castro. La chambre etait propre avec tout le confort ( frigidaire, climatisation et terrasse). La piscine etait sympa. La restauration etait bonne. Un bus avec un arrêt devant l'hotel allait au centre d'heraklion ( bus n°1 à l'aller et n°6 pour le retour). La plage etait à 500m à pieds.

Da evitare! Rumoroso al massimo.

Nell'unità più vecchia (le altre due, vicine alla piscina, sono dedicate ai tour operators) non c'è separazione dal ristorante alle camere, pertanto la musica, sempre a "palla", dilaga fino a tarda notte! Dei lavori di manutenzione sono stati svolti alle 02:00, con trapani e martelli (!), il personale addetto alle pulizie cammina per i corridoi di prima mattino parlando forte e sbattendo gli zoccoli. Le porte si chiudono solamente sbattendole, e si sentono perfettamente i rumori "biologici" degli altri clienti nei bagni delle loro camere. La nostra "seconda" camera era sopra la cucina (!), quindi non si poteva aprire la porta-finestra per via degli odori, soprattutto di fritto. L'hotel NON è fronte mare, bensì fronte-strada, una strada trafficata e rumorosa, dal primo mattino sino a tarda notte! Abbiamo dormito poche ore per notte per 8 notti ...

Loin du centre et des commodités

Hôtel situé loin du centre ville d'Héraklion (à 25 minutes en bus), dans une zone uniquement composée d'hôtels, restaurants, boîtes de nuit. Au mois d'avril, tout était fermé, faisant de cet endroit un "village fantôme" peu accueillant.

Bonne situation de l'hôtel, cadre agréable. Chambre avec balcon. Seul bémol le restaurant de l'hôtel était très moyen.

Hotel de confort simple avec un bon accueil. Repas simple le soir et le matin mais compris. Attention la clim coûte 5 euros par jour. Proche de la mer et au bord d'une rue commerçante. Nuit calme - fonction de la position de la chambre dans les batiments.

Pour un prix de 36 euros payé en juillet c'était très correct. L'hôtel est agréable mais un peu loin d'Héraklion pour ceux qui veulent visiter cette ville. La plage est un peu loin si on est exigeant pour avoir la mer à toute proximité.
