Comfortable and elegant hotel with thermal baths.

Comfortable and elegant hotel with access to stylish outdoor pool and thermal bath included. Our pet dog was welcomed but not allowed in the dining room or by the outdoor pool - OK in summer when you can eat on the patio. Short drive from Solares to Santander.

Well located for access to Santander sea port. Beautiful building and quiet location that welcomed our dog for €19 (€150 deposit refunded on check out) Pros: . Secure underground parking free of charge . Quality and quantity of breakfast included in the rate . Room size . Bathroom size and complimentary spa quality shower gel, shampoo, conditioner etc. . Quiet . Pet friendly . Local restaurants and supermarket within walking distance . Pleasant bar area … able to sit on the terrace with our dog Cons : . Room service has limited menu and is not served until 2030 hours Biggest Con: . Air conditioning is switched off centrally between the hours of 0100 and 0700 The biggest con spoiled our stay as the room was over hot and we were unable to sleep.

Overall this is a nice hotel. The thermal pool is excellent! The 40 euro spa is nice, but not worth 40 euros. Our air conditioning wasn’t working when we arrived and they came within the hour to fix it. Fun fact: the hotel turns off the air conditioning from 0200 to 0600 ish, so if you wake up warm, that’s why.

Not impressed

The castle is beautiful, however the front desk check in lady was rude, so that was my initial impression. The rooms were a bit outdated, no tea kettles in room, termal pool was not termal or hot.. it was slightly warm, just overall not impressed. It was not worth the price paid per night. Parking in garage was 6.50 euros per night which was fair and nice because lift goes up to room from garage. The breakfast buffet was nice with many options. This was also an extra charge.

Not for business traveller

As a business traveller I wouldn't recommend this hotel .. there was no iron/board in room but also not available in hotel .Also no kettle in room or again even available .. for these reasons wouldn't stay again

One day room was not clean, bed not maid,, no towels etc. The said I hung a do not disturb sign out, not so. Had to wait 2 hours to have room cleaned. Otherwise a good stay. I think someone fibbed. A Higuera

Comfortable stay

Warm welcome to this comfortable hotel. We travelled with our dog and we’re made to feel very welcome and a dog bed and dishes were in our room on arrival. We were asked for EUR 150 room deposit as we had our pet with us and this was credited to our room charge on check out once the room had been checked for no damage. The terrace is closed mid week so no option to dine outdoors. We chose room service which was distinctly average and therefore not good value. Breakfast was included in our room rate and was excellent. Main pool area is attractive but pool not well kept … lovely gardens to walk in close proximity. ELV users - there are 2 11KW Iberdrola chargers in the underground car park (no signal in car park so have to stand outside door!) sadly neither we’re working - be warned! We did report this to Iberdrola who were aware of issue but hotel reception claimed they knew nothing!

The location is great. You can visit many beautiful places all around: Santander, Comillas, Santillana, Cabárceno. The hotel is very comfortable and clean. Staff is really nice and worried for a pleasant stay. Breakfast is complete with a big variety of food. The thermal pool is really nice and relaxing. All clean and following the health and safety measures. The hotel is very prepared for the actual pandemic situation. Recommended for a relaxing and romantic stay. The room status is something I should mention, due to the esthetic harms in furniture and walls. You expect a little bit more care on this, in a 4* hotel. But overall, the room is clean, the bed is huge, the room is super spacious and awesome views!

Interesting location given the history of the Hotel. The staff are motivated from the front desk, the concierge though to the waiters. The location is excellent as it affords you the ability to visit some rather good nearby wine estates and their restaurants.

Elegantísimo hotel con excelente servicio. Habitación muy amplia y confortable con fácil acceso al balneario adyacente. Se descansa muy bien, ya que impera el silencio tanto de día como de noche. El personal es muy amable y eficiente. Desayunos ríquisimos con todo tipo de productos locales de elaboración propia. Impresionante piscina termal. Recomiendo este magnífico hotel para todas las edades, especialmente a familias con peques. Relax asegurado para todos.

A gem in northern Spain

This hotel and city of Solares, Spain in the hidden gem of northern Spain. The Hotel is super clean located in the center of town on the main avenue, Calvo Sotelo. The Spa was great as was the outdoor heated pool. Parking was underground or above, in and out was a breeze. The buffet breakfast had every item you can think of for a breakfast in Spain. The hotel/spa was just a two minute walk from the bus and train station, and many good tapas places and restaurants nearby with in walking distance. I will definitely go back, and would recommend this place for couples or families.

Well worth a stay.

Lovely classic style hotel but wiht all mod cons & first class spa/health club. Our room was spacious, very clean & bathroom was spotless with new fitted taps & shower. Tried unsuccessfully to find somewhere to eat in the local vicinity, was mostly traditional cafes & bars so ended up eating in Hotel restaurant. Quite pricey & food was good. Would definitely stay again.

Booked for the night when we disembarked from ferry 6.15 . We arrived just after 7.00 . perfect stopover. ate in the bar which was just the right amount and good quality. excellent G and T. Good breakfast. very comfortable room and quiet. Helpful staff.

Not good

This hotel is in the middle of an industrial area - nothing of interest there. Hotel.com state it is 6.3 miles from Santander but it is approx. 20 Kilometers so information is totally misleading

Worth a lot more that what you pay

Simply incredible. Great for individual and family activities. Close to everywhere in Cantabria (no more than 20-30 min drive) and you avoid all traffic from Santander. Great professionalism and attitude from anyone on the hotel (reception, restaurant, SPA, etc). Lots of families as cradle and extra bed are free of charge. While included on price, breakfast buffet will for sure satisfy all your needs. If you get a chance get the SPA as its worth to pay for it.

Grandeur and calm in Spain

A wonderful calm atmosphere, great room very comfortable bed superb breakfast. Staff somewhat detached we thought, but for the price exceptional.

A good hotel overall. The disabled room was at the far end of a corridor peculiarly, but very roomy and excellent layout nevertheless. Food edible but not particularly edifying. Not aware if there is anything better in the area however. Bar area very attractive and spacious however. Plentiful parking beneath hotel, don't try the one at the back. You'll need a pass from reception before attempting it though.

Comfortable

Comfortable and spotlessly clean rooms anublic areas but expensive for what it offered. Restaurant was really good with excellent service. Breakfast offerings much better than most . Extras can quickly mount up so plan your stay and ask questions first.Apart from the use of the outdoor pool everything else came under category of extras. Underground parking at 5 euros well worth it for security and keeping car cool in summertime.

Relaxing getaway

Very relaxing stay at Hotel Balneario. The hotel was nice a quiet, the bed comfortable and the staff very friendly.

Slightly Bedraggled Spa Hotel

We stayed at the Hotel Balneario Solares on the second to last night of our trip to Spain. It wasn't a horrible hotel by any stretch (it reminded me of one of those places in Palm Beach, Florida that had it's heyday back in the 40's and 50's), but for the amount they were charging, the furnishings and linens, etc should not have been as tired and worn out as they were. There was a black stain on our bedspread and the curtains had a small rip in them from the balcony door. The spa was very relaxing, which was much needed after a week of non-stop driving along the mountainous coast. We booked the full-board option, as I had a free room saved up with my rewards. The food was really nice, but they offered an identical menu for both lunch and dinner which was unfortunate. It would have been nice to have been offered a bit of variety for the price they were charging.

Very nice spa hotel

Modern, spacious spa hotel with the wow factor. We had half-board and both breakfast and dinner were excellent. Surrounding town is nothing special but the hotel is just across from the little station to get the train to Santander (very cheap). We didn't try the spa treatments, but the list was impressive.

Stopover

Wonderful hotel just 15 mins from Santander. Our ferry docked at 18.15 so it was an ideal destination for the night. The hotel has an indoor and outdoor pool, spa & gym. The room had bathrobes, slippers and swimming hats on the beds. Our room overlooked the pool, so it was a lovely view. We had dinner there which was also very good.

Great spa hotel

We enjoyed our 3 day, 2 room stay very much. The terme spa was nice, we also took advantage of the special they had for body scrub and message and all 3 of us thought it was quite good, we also had facials and were happy with the service as well, We have stayed in other spa hotels around europe and thought this one was better than average when it came to spa services. The included breakfast was also good and free parking and wifi were nicely included. The town its self though has nothing really to offer and is not very impressive to say the least, so we used it as a place to come home to after going out and exploring other towns and the picos de europa

Great hotel, but no pool

The hotel was very good, nice and luxurious, also the restaurant was top-notch. The only downfall was that from the website it seemed that there were two pools, one inside and one outside, which was part of the reason for choosing this hotel. As it turned out, the outdoor pool season does not start until later in June in the north of Spain, and the indoor pool is part of the spa -some sort of water-therapy with bubbles and the works that costs 18 Euros for 45 Minutes (and no kids under three). Considering the price for the rooms (and the great breakfast), it was still worth it, but we were really counting on having a pool.

Superb hotel in disappointing surroundings with an acceptable Spa

The hotel, the rooms, the restaurant are all excellent, located in a historic building in a small, nice park. However, the park is in a busy, ugly neighborhood and is adjacent to the bottling facilities that commercialize its renowned mineral water. The Spa services are old fashioned but acceptable; however, their feel is very clinical, with the guests in white robes waiting in an orderly fashion for their treatment services offered by staff dressed as nurses; the impression it leaves on you is that it is more of a "Sanatorium" than a "Well Being Space".

Solares hotel near Santander

A good spot to stay before getting the ferry from Santander. Lovely hotel with character. Gorgeous bakery up the road, but not much else around. Amazing looking spa attached to the hotel, but despite the hotel saying it has a pool - you have to pay €18 each to use the one at the spa, and the children's pool is only open at the weekend. Very disappoininting, as that was the main reason we had picked the hotel. We resorted to using the public pool just over the road for €8 for 3 of us.

Excellent rapport qualité/prix : un beau 4 étoiles

La chambre supérieure avec terrasse donne sur la rue, mais elle est grande ( plus de 20m2) avec fauteuils et canapés confortables, mais pas de chaises longues. Literie exceptionnelle, insonorisation remarquable. Salle de bain bien achalandée qui serait top si l'on avait où accrocher les confortables peignoirs fournis avec les chouettes mules spéciales balnéo. Choisir de préférence une chambre au 3 ème etage pour le confort visuel et sonore. L'accueil à la réception et le service en général sont également vraiment excellents. La piscine avec l'espace balnéo est belle et bien équipée (16/20) mais moins bien qu'à l'hôtel de la même chaîne thermale à El Burgo de Osma (20/20) qui mérite le détour. Le massage spécial '' solarès'' au spa est tout simplement fabuleux: il est incontournable ( je suis un assidu des massages et sais de quoi il en retourne) et d'un excellent rapport qualité/prix. Le seul bémol de ce bel ensemble est le restaurant, entre pas bon et mauvais,... et hors de prix! Fuyez, et traversez la rue : à 30m allez dîner à la tienda de pedro Garcia on y mange très bien dans un cadre très sympa. Enfin, il vaut mieux prendre une place payante pour le parking couvert sécurisé ( 12 euros)qui donne accès aux chambres plutôt que dehors, très mal situé. Pour en finir avec une nouvelle bonne note: 19/20 au petit déjeuner buffet digne d'un excellent 5 étoiles ( j'en ai fréquenté quelque uns et cette note est méritée)

Hotel in centro al paese facilmente raggiungibile . Il parcheggio lascia un po a desiderare ed e' lontano dall' entrata. La piscina e grande e bella ma bisogna prenotare il proprio turno .

Fin de semana espectacular. La habitación muy cómoda, la cena y el desayuno de lujo, todo riquísimo. La piscina termal ideal, y el masaje..... Súper bien 👌. El personal muy atento y profesional, trato excelente. Volveremos a celebrar otro cumpleaños seguro. Recomendable 100%.

Un hotel comodo con el extra del spa

Es una gran opcion para unos dias de relax en el entorno de Santander. Unico punto desfavorable, que obliguen a pagar la estancia al registrarse cuando no has visto.ni.la habitacion

Excelente hotel de 4 estrellas con Spa y con parking fuera, si no tienes el pase covid te restringen el acceso a la sala de desayuno y restaurante, con lo que no lo aprovechas del todo, pero ellos se lo pierden

Maravilloso!! Volveriamos a repetir la estancia sin duda. Un spa suficientemente grande (solo echamos en falta una sauna, solo tiene piscina termal), pero todo ambientado a relajacion y bienestar. Tienes 3 horas de spa que son mas que suficientes (hay que programar antes de reservar por la limitacion de aforos). El personal de recepcion muy amable, dandote todos los detalles con la mayor paciencia posible. Nos hemos relajado despues de un largo viaje y salimos como nuevos.

Ecelente hotel balneario cerca de Santander

Excelente hotel spa, tiene piscina exterior, buenas medidas Covid, habitación espaciosa, servicio muy bueno, parking gratis aunque solo un numero pequeño en el hotel , el resto en un parking en la parte trasera, menos vigilada o de pago por 6 euros. Buffet desayuno excelente, también buen restaurante para la cena. Circuito Spa muy completo. Muy cerca de la A-8, bien comunicado

Positivo : el personal de restauración , cena muy buena , desayuno ok y habitación limpia. Negativo: información en general , antes de reservar llamamos por teléfono para saber que entraba en la MP ya que íbamos con un niño de 2 años y queríamos saber si le entraba a él la cena al ser considerado bebé. No nos dejaba ponerlo en la reserva y era porque no quedaban cunas, que si llevábamos la nuestra no había problema que lo pusiéramos en anotaciones (y así lo hicimos ) y que el niño también tenía media pensión . Hicimos la reserva acorde con la información que teníamos . Cuando llegamos la chica de recepción fue muy atenta . Pero al llegar la hora de la cena nos enteramos que el niño no tiene media pensión . Vamos a comentarlo con recepción y nos dicen que es imposible que nos dijeran por teléfono eso que aún gracias que nos regalan el desayuno del niño y la piscina. Que lo paguemos aparte o le demos de nuestra comida . Todas las reservas se hacen mediante una App , de la que te apañas para instalar y saber cómo funciona . La gente joven muy bien pero la mayor iba perdida , y desde que reservas tarda media hora en hacerse efectivo por lo que muchos cebaban tarde . La cena esta muy bien de calidad 9 primeros y 9 segundos que no cambian por lo que si te quedas muchos días se hace repetitivos. Los últimos días nos dijeron que podíamos combinarlo con la carta del bar ... pero si no preguntas nadie te dice nada ... en general desinformación

Agradable capricho en Spa de Solares

Bonito hotel de 4 estrellas. Fácil acceso y parking exterior gratuito en el recinto. Habitación amplia y cómoda. La piscina termal grande y con bastantes prestaciones. Cómodo acceso desde habitaciones. Albornoz, gorro y chanclas incluidas. Todo apto para tallas normales ( 1,85 y 90 kg). La cena rica, único fallo la cadencia en servir los platos, excesivamente rápida para una cena especial.

Bon séjeour

J'étais à cet hôtel pour des raisons professionnelles. Les chambres sont grandes, bien isolée. J'ai trouvé la literie un peu trop molle, mais cela ne m'a pas empêché de bien dormir. Le petit déjeuner, est type d'un petit déjeuner Espagnol, donc assez moyen. e reviendrai pour essayer le Spa.

Lo que más me gusto fue la entrada ilimitada en el Spa. La habitacion, que es bastante amplia, que cuidan los detalles y el trato recibido por el personal del hotel. Lo que menos me gustó fue que el parking gratuito y al aire libre está demasiado lejos de la entrada para ir cargado con las maletas. Tiene que bajarse alguien en la entrada con todas las cosas y la otra persona ir a aparcar, si no quieres ir cargado. Todo el hotel en sí está muy limpio, pero cuando sales al balconcito que hay, te dan ganas de meterte otra vez para dentro porque esta lleno de telarañas y bichos. Mejoraría el cuidado de la fachada.

Décevant, n'est pas un 4 étoiles

Dans l'offre spa illimitée, on n'a même pas accès au hammam ni au sauna. Pas de salle de sport indiquée alors que les écrans d'accueil l'indiquent. Piscine extérieure non chauffée alors que la température en été ne dépasse pas 25° dans la ville. Salle de bain bouchée à l'arrivée. Point positif pour le petit déjeuner de qualité.

Si no te parece caro, adelante, es una opción.

Un hotel bien cuidado con un personal atento y resolutivo. El balneario es más que correcto y el servicio de masajes bastante caro para lo que realmente ofrece. Las camas son cómodas y por suerte tienen carta de almohadas para mejorar el descanso de los huéspedes. Parking barato y accesible. Restaurante correcto, sin más. El desayuno es abundante y con una calidad aceptable.

45 minutos antes de las 15 h fue nuestra llegada, que la habitación no este lista normal, pero que nos dejen con las maletas esperando, pudiendo ofrecernos una consigna para no tener que estar mirando, poco servicial y resolutivo.

La atención en el restaurante muy buena. No me gustó que no se limpiará el baño en domingo ni se cambiarán las toallas .

Lo único que no nos gusto y no se informa en la reserva es que no se puede fumar en las habitaciones

Hotel bien, spa masificado y sin control

El hotel en general está muy bonito, decoración clásica con mucho gusto. El personal una maravilla desde recepción, cafetería y restaurante hasta spa. Pero en negativo he de decir que los colchones de nuestra habitación, 315 en concreto, no me parecieron muy cómodos, creo que toca cambiarlos. La hora de entrada era a las 15:00, y hasta las 15:50 no entramos en la habitación. Fueron muy amables al invitarnos a tomar algo en cafetería, eso si, pero la verdad es que si lo que uno quiere es descansar del viaje, y creo que las 15:00 ya es una entrada suficientemente tardía, no me parece ni medio normal. Esa hora me la cobran y me la han quitado. Y por otra parte el spa. Está bastante bien, pero aparte de que hay mucha gente, el horario en el que permiten niños es infernal, si, nadie que controle lo que hacen, con padres irresponsables y mal educados. Señores enseñen a sus niños a estar en cualquier circunstancia. Y al hotel, se debería controlar más, al fin y al cabo en un balneario, no un parque acuático. Muy mal en ese sentido. Respecto al restaurante, el trato sensacional, pero caro para la comida que es.
