Nice hotel... in the heart of chueca, always clean

The lady of take care everything... her name is ROCIO... she is so helpful, welcome and so patience.... i love it.. definately i will comeback to the same place..... awww Madrid.... aww hostel Castilla... so wonderful.

5 Nights in Madrid

Spent 5 nights in Hostel Castilla, a neat place with sink in the double single bed room. Room was tidied every morning which makes a welcoming environment on the return. Overall, a good place for overnights at a decent price.

Home Base in Madrid

Myself and a friend were in Madrid for an event. We weren't planning to spend a lot of time in a hotel. This is a hostel. Just a place to sleep or rest. It had everything that we needed: a place to sleep, close to the subway and some places to get breakfast or a snack. We had to share the bathroom but this wasn't a problem. The staff was very solicitous of our needs. Bed was good. There was WiFi and a TV in our room(which we didn't use). The neighborhood was very ordinary and the wooden stairs looked to be 100 yrs old and well worn. Need to climb 3 flights of stairs to get to the hostel. Not a place if you're looking for creature comforts but for the price it was a good deal if you just need a place to camp out, wash and sleep and it was fairly close to the center.

Excellent place to stay in Chueca

Really pleased with this hostal. It's a good location in Chueca, and I liked the dated charm of the place. Very clean, and the woman who runs it is very attentive. The room was comfortable enough...I had a double bed to myself but I might just have been lucky there. If you want to be in a quiet part of Chueca you could definitely do much worse than this place.

a few days in Madrid

Perfect for what I needed. A basic room in a good location to explore Madrid. Beds were clean, toilet and shower were clean and the lady was very helpful, and for a great price. Noisy outside after the bars get out but then I had the window open.

Good basic hotel in a convenient location

I stayed two nights at Castilla and found it to be a good value. It's only two blocks from a convenient metro stop but it's actually walkable to the main spots. Madrid's main attractions aren't that far from each other if you don't mind walking. Shared bathroom which was fine with me. The sign of the hotel is rather easy to miss since this place is in a more residential area and the sign is really small. But if you get a detail map from the airport tourist office you should be OK. I found it easily with the map. Some cons are no reception but they give you the keys to the building. Hallways are timed lights so can be dark until it's activated. But for its price and location I think it's a good value.

Great Hostel

I stayed in the single room. It was very comfortable for me for the two nights I was there. The nights can be loud out the window but I guess that's Spain. The biggest problem I had was finding the place. None of the businesses knew where Calle de Santa Teresa was. I suggest asking a cab driver or having a better map. I was able to walk there after taking the airport bus to Plaza de Cibiles. The lady that runs the joint was very nice and spoke enough English to understand, at least she made an attempt. I would stay there again for sure. I got my own set of keys for the building and the room so I didn't have to go ringing the doorbell late at night or whenever I came in, which was the case at some other hostels.

Happy times at Castilla

We (myself and my friend--both college students studying abroad) had a lovely stay at Castilla. It was a little hard to find at first because we hadn't thoroughly researched its location, but once we found it (with the help of the tourist information booth at plaza de cibeles) the hotel was easy to access. We found our room to be pleasant and perfect for our budget. Basically it is an entire floor of an apartment building (3rd floor, no elevator--probably not good for older people) and there are many medium-sized rooms pleasantly decorated and prepared for visitors. We had a shared bathroom and it was always freshly cleaned in the morning. A little loud on weekend nights because of nightlife on the street but the location is easily walkable from many cool parts of Madrid so we thought it was worth it. We also really enjoyed that we felt at ease to just relax in the room and not be bothered by anyone, it was nice to have some privacy after staying in so many hostel dorms. Overall we were very happy.

Hotel - a bit hidden but in a good location

My first impression of the hotel was not good - it is hard to find, up three flights of stairs and is basically a converted flat. Our room was small and basic with a shared bathroom but can't complain as the price was very good. The only problem is that you only get one set of keys per room which makes it difficult to do your own thing as the landlady is not always in to let you in. That said, the landlady is very accommodating and let us store our bags for a few hours before we caught the plane. She wasn't sure if she would be around when we came back to pick up our bags so said we could leave our bags locked in our room and just asked us to leave the keys on the bedroom table on the way out - perfect! Location was a bit out of the centre but within walking distance and actually we spent a lot of time within our local area as there were many nice and inexpensive bars as well as brilliant tapas. So overall - I would absolutely recommend this hotel.

The owner was skeptical, paranoid and unhelpful. I asked her at the frist day "can u please leave our room as it coz it does not need clean during our stay,, she said: okey that's fine" but she got into our room every day while we are out and she did not do any clean:( Another problemwith her, i left some emty bottles at my bed room and i needed to give them back to the bar but she took them awayand when i asked her where r the bottles? she said: don't drink at the bedroom drink in the street, and don't talk with me "shashsh" but i tried politely to talk with her but she said get out or i will call the police,,

Good Experience.

The manager is a very kind and helpful woman, I felt at home. The room and facilities were in good condition and were kept perfectly clean. The bed was expecially nice. The location is great in itself. The only downside is the street noise from a couple of bars which went on into the wee hours. I have a good white-noise machine that helped.

Wonderful location, clean room, sweet owner

This hostel is close to an important metro stop. The room is clean and bug free and the owner is an extremely kind Spanish woman. I would most certainly return especially because of the amazingly cheap prices!

Muy centrico y tiene todo tipo de comercios alrededor. Muy limpoo, la cama muy comoda.

Estuvimos muy a gusto en la habitación, el hotel está cerca de casi todo.

Einfaches, freundliches und sehr sauberes Hostal. Gute, zentrumsnahe Lage, auch eine Metrostation befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nähe.

Die Zimmer sind relativ alt; allerdings ist alles Nätige vorhanden. Die Lage, Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter sowie die Sauberkeit sprechen trotzdem dafür. ich würde jeder Zeit wieder kommen. Achtung: Das Hostel befindet sich im 3. Stock eines Hauses ohne Fahrstuhl.

Noche práctica

Establecimiento básico para pasar la noche. Buen entorno para comer, salir por la noche, etc. Suficientmente correcto y limpio. Recomendado.

Aunque el edificio es bastante antigüo, el hotel está muy bien. La chica que nos atendió muy amable y el hotel estuvo en todo momento impecable!

Удобное расположение отеля: до ближайшего метро Алонсо Мартинес пешком 4 минуты (кстати удобно, что эта станция является пересечением 3 веток). От аэропорта на метро около 30-35 минут. До Пуэрта-дель-Соль пешком 15 минут. Отель представляет собой большую квартиру на 10 номеров. В двухместных свой санузел одноместные только с раковиной. Два общих санузла (один с полноценной ванной, другой с душем) есть кухня с микроволновкой, чайником, кофеваркой, холодильником и стиральной машиной, а также имеется посуда, приборы, чай, сахар, соль и т.п. (включая бальзамический уксус) :-) В номерах чисто, кровать удобная широкая, стол, стул, кресло, большой шкаф, есть маленький балкон. Замечательная хозяйка абсолютно не навязчивая, но готовая помочь при первой необходимости. Уборка ежедневно. Выдают ключи от номера квартиры и подъезда. WiFi в номере прекрасный из недостатков: нет лифта

God beliggenhed til fornuftig pris

En forlænget weekend i Madrid, hvor vi skulle være meget ude af huset. Castilla Hostel havde det vi havde brug for, god beliggenhed til en fornuftig pris.

Hostal consiste en varias habitaciones dentro de un mismo apartamento en la tercera planta sin ascensor. Las dos camas individuales una al pie de la otra debido a la estrechez de la habitacion. Estaba bien que se podía entrar temprano el dia que se llega y dejar las maletas el último día sin problema. Lo malo si es que hay que destacar algo es ubicación en 3ª planta, cerradura de la puerta de la habitación y paredes muy finas ( entra y sale mucho ruido). Lo bueno: si prefieres andar tienes todo entre 15-25 minutos de distancia.

Correcto y Accesible

Correcto en términos generales. El edificio no tiene ascensor y el hostel esta en un tercer piso, lo cual hace tedioso subir la maleta. Bien ubicado, cerca de estación de metro por donde pasan 3 líneas, muy accesible incluso para llegar o ir al aeropuerto; aunque algo ruidoso en viernes por la noche debido a la gran cantidad de clubes de la zona. Zona tranquila y llena de supermercados y mini markets. Tiene cerca una lavanderia de autolavado y varis restaurantes de diferentes categorias.

La primera impresión es de una casa destartalada pero una vez entras es bastante moderno.Muy atenta la dueña y nada de ruido por las noches y eso que me hospedé durante el clásico. Lo malo que las teles no son HD y se ven oscuras pero de resto recomendable al 100%

Hôtel au 3e étage sans ascenseur et d'un vielle escalier. lit non confortable, il faut attendre son tour pour la salle de bain. télé non régler, pas de parking, pas de petit déj, le personnel non agréable. je ne recommande pas cet hôtel.

Hostal perfecto para estancias cortas o largas en pleno centro de Madrid. Las zonas comunes (baños y cocina) muy limpios. Muy cuidado, amenities, toallas y sábanas impecables. Personal muy acogedor y servicial. Muy recomendable.

Ubicación excelente y buen precio

El Hotel está muy cerca de los lugares de interés de Madrid, museos, parque del Retiro, Las Cibeles, Paseo Colón, cerca del metro Alonso Martínez y línea de buses.Rodeado de restaurantes y bares. Pudo ir caminando a la mayoría de estos sitios. Posee una cocina pequeña equipada con lo básico(horno, microondas y refrigerador, platos, tazas y cubiertos) para que puedas prepararte un desayuno antes de salir. La limpieza es excelente. Solo está el incoveniente de no tener ascensor y está en tercer piso. Mi habitación daba frente a la calle y sentía ruido pero no me afectó pues tengo buen sueño. El WI-FI del Hostal no funcionó con mi ordenador pero me pude conectar a otras redes disponibles. Lo volvería a utilizar y lo recomiendo por el precio y beneficios.

Très bon rapport/qualité prix

Le personnel est très sympathique et serviable prêt à vous rendre service. Hôtel idéalement placé pour visiter Madrid, calme dans la semaine mais bruyant le WE car il y a des cafés et restaurants en dessous. Attention pas d'ascenseur ! il faut être un peu sportif pour monter les 3 étages. Nous avons aimé et éventuellement y retourner un jour.
