I liked how quiet the hotel was, despite being a short walk from the bus station and shopping area. I enjoyed my stay. The breakfast was great every day.
Location is good
Pleasant. No hot water! No aircondition ! Very bad smell in the hotel! No service and the breakfast not so good.
The first hotel room I was given had rodent poison behind the Toilet. Which I did not see until the next morning. We moved to another room - but, it was dirty; the water temperature was drastically hot and cold within seconds. Overall, the hotel was so bad we left after two of the four pre-paid days. I am completely disgusted with Expedia that this hotel could possibly have scored over 8.0. Awful
A very typical elderly hotel sympathetically updated. Very good breakfast. Excellent location just inside the old walls of the city. Very close to the traditional area of old Nicosia and the crossing point to the Turkich Cypriot North. Very good size carpark where we were able to park early, well before check-in time and were able to leave our car for most of the day after check-out. Staff could not have been more pleasant and helpfull. We will certainly be returninf next year.
Convenient hotel with super breakfast
Just a night but hotel convenient with car park useful for trip to North Cyprus. Had a ok room and super breakfast. Staff nice. After checkout let us use car park & restrooms for day.
Love this place
Nice and friendly people
Nice place to stay but with cold welcome
the hotel is fine for this budget - you can not expect anything special, but beds are fine, room was clean, all the small issues were ok - towels, water, noises - nothing here to complain. But stuff - this is a separate question. Not friendly, not polite, they are treating you as they are forced to. No smiles, no attention to details. Like bad robots. As a sample - i asked for wake-up call, and did not get it))). So missed the breakfast which was included in my rate. On check-out - just one frase "your room number?". Two different persons in the night and in the morning - but same attitude.
Nice place away of the city centre
Great place, and cool surroundings, if location is ok for you. Around 35-40 minutes from the airport. A-la-carte breakfast and cafe are great. Room was good, big and clean. A/C system was bit noisy, but the rest - just fine. Be prepared that late evening maximum you will get in the restaurant is a panini sandwich. But, again, the rest of the hotel is just fine.
Outdated, smelled funny. Good breakfast though and location is good.
Tired Hotel but Great Location
Hotel is in a great location with free parking which is why I chose it. Check-in was smooth and size of the Executive room was good. I asked for a twin room but ended up with a double. Decor is very tired looking. The AC in our room was very noisy and dust seemed to be coming out of it. Breakfast buffet was average. As we were only staying one night it was OK. Hotel is close to restaurants, bars and the border.
Good hotel, but quite expensive for value
Great location near Eleftherias Square and Ledra Street, near the bus station. Unkind flat-faced receptionists. All of them all the time. Lack of kindness was the worst thing in this hotel. Comfortable bed, chair and desk, good bathroom, but too little soap (and they didn't bring any new soap on day 2, I had to ask on day 3). Good wall-mounted AC system, which has a wall-mounted control system. Fridge and some doors were quite worn-down. Very poor TV channel selection: <10 local channels. No international channels available. Nice blue (sleep) light function mounted on the wall. Plenty of lights and switches. 2 bonus small water bottles in the room were nice to have! Quiet hotel, quiet, but unsafe looking street full of creeps and an alcoholic drinks shop. Good, but quite single-sided breakfast with few fruits or vegetables.
Great location, rooms a bit dated
A great location with car parking next to the hotel. The rooms are very dated but adequate. The tap in the bathroom dripped continuously for the 2 nights we stayed and right outside in the corridor is a big wooden plank or something under the carpet that when somebody walks over it, it bangs. It woke me up both mornings and customer relations did say they would look in to it. However, I cannot be the first person to complain about it, because it bangs every time a person walks past, 24 hours a day. Very annoying! Breakfast could have been so much better. (fresher bread without hard crusts, fresher eggs (like rubber), fresher scrambled eggs (looking very grey and tired), cook the baked beans before putting them out, and tinned mushrooms are simply a cheap option. Fresh mushrooms are much nicer and edible).
Great stay
Great hotel with car park. Situated well for main attractions Beds comfy and shower great Would recommend and would stay again. 😊
The Staff of the Hotel was excellent. My wife and I had a great time there. In my opinion, there is enough car park space for at least ten cars. Entry and exit are barrier controlled. Breakfast timings and the items available also excellent. Okay it's not the Hilton, but in it's own way, it is well worth staying there. Not very expensive, but really value for money. I would be very happy to stay there again.
The worst experience ever
Dirty rooms rude management ,
Worst experience
Hotel was clean! The bed was a bit small for 2 persons. Price high for one night!
Poor service and dirty rooms
Not good at all. Old bed sheets, dursty room with dirt all over the under bed. Asked them tobdo proper cleaning but it never happened. We even left the hotel without shower. They cut the water supply without notification only for me to be surprised when i wanted to take a shower
Nice place
The hotel is cool and easy to access
Worst hotel in Nicosia I have been to
The rooms and hotel in general are in terrible conditions. Cracks in the ceilings in the rooms and in general areas of the hotel. Many facilities are closed (due to pandemic or because of low demand?) Soundproof in the hotel does not exist. Windows go to the tiny well between the hotel and next building, where all the smells from the kitchen are extracted too. Some bed linen and towels were dirtly. Breakfast is ok though.
Perfect as always!
Great hotel in middle of city
Brilliant stay - great location in town near the gate to cross to the Turkish side. The staff gave a great recommendation for dinner
The property is very centrally located and is walking distance to many of the sites in Lefkosia. Free parking is a great perk for a location such as this. The hotel staff was nice and the breakfast was decent. The hotel is quite reasonably priced.
Very good service
Discrete, very good location both for tourists or for business. The receptionists deserve a 10/10 mark for their efficiency and willingness to help solving little issues.
Great location
The staff were very offish for the first few days of our stay but were a bit more aproachable towards the end. This may have been because i returnred our pillows, within a few minutes of arriving, and showed them how badly stained they were. They did not have any pillows availble at that time, but they were swapped,in the morning, for new ones. We still couldnt sleep though, because the beds and new pillows were so hard. Also, there was zero cleanliness in the rooms and in the corridors. The bathrooms stank of sewage. The floors were only mopped on the day before we left-and that was with a mouldy smelling mop. They may have tried mopping because i wrote, in the dust on the headboard, Clean me! The lobby and breakfast area were clean though. The breakfast was nice.
Very happy with my stay. Excellent location and service.
Didn't disappoint - recommended hotel.
Booked in with family for 4 days and thought it was just fine. TV is crap but didn't come to watch Greek programs, the area was nice and everything was in walking distance. I recommend the place.
Nice hotel, good location
Room was very nice and large. Breakfast was plentiful. Air conditioning didn't keep the room very cool however.
Very dirty staff were miserable and not welcoming, the so called chef, he was rude, all unhelpful
Never to return.
Overall just bordering on average. Room was not very clean. TV and hairdryer not working at all. The air conditioning was not working and the room was very hot during the day and night. On reporting faults to reception we were told the air conditioning in the hotel was not yet in operation with the others matters the reception we received a shrug of the shoulders.
NOT HAPPY
did not get room that was booked room we got was small shower room flooded when showering and very small
Stark empty room, with a blocked window facing a brick wall 2 feet away, rundown bathroom fixtures, dripping faucet, shower with a weak trickle of lukewarm water, periodic plumbing sounds from other rooms at all hours, day and night. Rather poor breakfast, Staff were friendly
good located in quiet area
Basic and good location.not cheap tough.
Excellent service friendly staff, very helpful and patient to give the visitors Address and directions we will definitely go back again really happy customer. Thank you
Short stay only one day. maybe next time I will stay longer
One of the best in town
Excellent atmosphere, kind reception, good local breakfast food. Best situated in downtown with private parking!
The central location of this hotel near all the attractions of the old town in southern Nicosia, and the pedestrian crossing to the northern Turkish side of the city across the 'UN Green Line' is EXCELLENT! There are many interesting sights, restaurants and shops nearby on both sides of the border, and the old town is very walkable. The hotel itself was comfortable and clean with helpful staff and a good breakfast (included with our booking). The hotel also has free adjacent parking, which was perfect for accommodating our rental car while we visited Nicosia as part of our journey around the island of Cyprus (south and north zones).
Easy to find and so close to city centre
Good Location
Stayed 2 nights. Great location, within walking distance to the main street old town. Decent breakfast, our particular room had just one window so it was a bit dark without any view. Housekeeping could do better job cleaning bathroom, it's an old hotel that could use some remodeling.
Situated in the centre of Nicosia with a car park. Attractive, quiet hotel for sightseeing in the Old Town. Really reasonable when compared to places like the Hilton. Very helpful staff.
In the old city
Very nice location for exploring the old city. Basic facilities, but clean, with friendly staff. Good quality breakfast. Great restaurants in nearby Laiki Yeitonia. I had an enjoyable and relaxing stay.
Services and hospitality were perfect location as well. But hotel was old and need a refurbish. It was located very convenient to access almost everything. Local staff was very devoted especially cleaning crew were punctual and professional
Choose another hotel
The AC did not work. The antique fridge barely cooled products and would be better situated in a museum. When I arrived at 11am, my luggage was placed in an unsecured area accessible from the outside. When I checked in at 2pm, the reception clerk did not provide me a key to the room safe or the wifi password; instead, I had to ask for these items once I was in the room. The carpet in the room was worn to its shreds and was torn. The walls had incrained stains and marks as if a car mechanic rubbed against the walls. Any positive review must have been submitted by mgmt or owners or their friends.
No airport shuttle, limited hot water
In the seven days of my stay, I had two hot showers - and five brisk ones! The staff is pleasant, and the breakfast convenient. The offer of an airport shuttle is misleading: it took them four days and emails to "book" a taxi for me, which is the only option on offer. I would have appreciated having an option under 60 euros when I arrived. (The taxi share I used on my way back cost 11.5 euros, in comparison.) My room had a lot of space. It was also adjacent to some construction, so that noise and smell made things less pleasant.
Great location in Nicosia and good value for money
I've stayed here twice now, four years apart, and the quality is consistently good. Close to restaurants and shops. Beds are comfortable, quiet location, check out as late as noon. Convenient parking. Nice shower/tub with good water pressure. You have to wait several minutes for the hot water, but once it's there, it's perfect. Breakfast is nice too, with warm and cold choices.
decent hostel, very friendly staff and service
nice little hotel , near to old town with very friendly staff and nice service. good WiFi too :)
In Pictures look good but in Reality not completely looking well I'm not coming back Food not well and rooms not properly clean
Complete Confusion
Arrived at hotel and had to pay immediately for parking as the parking fence would only open if someone could get out of car, walk to the recrption and say "please open the parking" . By the time you go to move your car the fence closed!!! Entering then in a double /twin room : facing : only one towel, one small towel for face:) !!! Goong to wash hands; the soap was from another hotels! Safebox behind the drawer impossible to open!!! Window was not properly closed. Heating was throwing cold air!!! Cold!! and the cherry to pie: after breakfast we go back to room and see a pair of bedlinen above the tv and no towels at all! !!! we run to the corridor asking what happened! the reply we got :" sorry i didnt know you was staying only for a night! leave the linen there we will fix it later " and we asked " what about our towel at least we had one??" and then the lady goes " will you take again a shower today??" what do you need it for? you are leaving in 3 hours!!!!"
Very good, small walk to town, just needed tea and coffee in the rooms.
It is what it says on the box
It's a three star hotel with the standards of a three star hotel. It needed redecorating, the safe didn't work, the hairdryer didn't work, there were odd smells in the bathroom, the food quality at breakfast was poor. But...the staff were very friendly and helpful, the location was very good for our purposes, the lift always worked, the air con worked - though it seemed to have only 'on' and 'off', you couldn't turn it down low. The room was well serviced every day and in a strange way, I grew quite fond of it during our five night stay.
TOUR BOYS
Comfortable hotel within easy reach of several restaurants / cafes. Amenities within the hotel were ok but not great. All the staff in the hotel were very aware of the local area and its facilities.
Good small hotel
Arrived Sunday nomresturant or bar. However Hotel, gave a take way menu and offered to order for me.
The A/C was not working it was too hot the staff are not helpful
Nice hotel lovely staff
Hotel is basic but clean and full of wonderful staff. It is in the mix of the true culture of the town. It's not a tourist area but that's what we love. Close walk to shops, bus stops and local cafes.
Castillo hotel review
Good location and friendly bar and reception staff verY helpful Room was a but shabby in places, basic but comfortable
Ideally located for the West side of Nicosia, with private parking and free WiFi the hotel makes for an attractive proposition at less than €70 including breakfast and taxes. There is a lovely terrace and a function room on the ground floor aside.
Overall, not a great experience. I was given a smoking room and told that if i wanted a non-smoking room i needed to state this during my booking. Quite bizarre since smoking is banned in doors across Europe.
Not good enough
Weird room, very tight space around bed and wall, floor had obviously had a 6" groove dug in at some time and instead of leveling the floor, they just out carpet on top so weird grooves when walking across the room. Mould on glass shower door, easy to clean with vinegar or bleach but not even looked at, hair on floor when we moved in, not ours. Mould on shower and floor tile floor of, but realize harder to clean, no excuse for glass tho. Staff nice, helpful. Location is great. Free parking. However I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone
Wonderful accommodations, amenities et al
Wonderful accommodations, amenities, substantial breakfast and excellent staff!!
Nice Hotel Close to everything in Nicosia.
Nice Hotel. Close to the night clubs and close to Ledra street where you find shopping centers, stores, cafes, restaurants, kiosks, etc... Close to Ledra Street with probably a 5 to 10 minute walk. Even there is a gym approximately 5 to 10 minute walk.
Value for money
The hotel is value for money. You get free wifi and breakfast is OK. The room is not the cleanest, but acceptable. It's in walking distance to Ledra street.
Room was too hot with no in-room thermostat to regulate temperature, mini fridge not working. Good location with easy walk to main streets, restaurants and cafes. Free parking and WiFi.
Nice and near the old town
Not bad as for 3 stars hotel. Our room was leaking water from the air conditioner so they changed our room immediately.
Nice hotel. Very close to the city centre.
All member of the staff are very helpful and friendly. Very good people. Next time I will visit Nicosia I will try and stay in same hotel
Very close to the main bus station
Very good location, tasty breakfast.......................................
Good location
Good proximity to Ledra street but quiet with no disturbances. Clean, tidy facilities, comfortably sized room and acceptable breakfast.
Stopover
On holiday in Paphos and visited Nocosia for a change of scenery
The room was ok but the fridge did not work. It was dark in the room and if you liked looking at a concrete wall then the room was for you
This hotel is in a good location for walking around old Nicosia and is a short walk from the bus station and taxi stand. The breakfast room is modern and the breakfast offerings are ample. Service is friendly. The restaurants and bars are all closed, though, and renovation is going on in the lobby. Rooms and public areas are a bit shabby, though I think the staff is trying to keep things clean.
Nice place... but....
I stayed here twice, in April and again in May 2016. The rooms are quite comfortable, although you can tell the hotel is past it's prime. The coffee shop is closed, so is the restaurant. There seemed to be few others in residence. The neighborhood is great, it's very close to the main shopping/nightlife/culture area on Ledrada street. There are great shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs all within staggering distance. My major complaints are that A) my room smelled like cigarettes, even though the room was supposed to be non smoking, although, the room was very clean, and B) most importantly, neither time did the hotel seem to have my hotels.com reservation, which is very important, as the hotels walk in rate is much much higher than the rate advertised on hotels.com. Each time upon check out there was a dispute regarding the room rate and me having paid in full on hotels.com ... I honestly wouldn't stay again, based off of this unpleasantness.
Only 2* at best
Room was very dated & not very clean. Best things were lovely lady who serves breakfast & quite close to town.
low cleanness level
It was terrible to pay 60USD per night and find pee drops of other guests on the Toilet. The AC only pump hot air The view from the rooms was blocked by AC Central channels However, the brekfast was good.
Very nice hotel. Excellent location. Polite and helpful staff.
could have been better
it doesnt worth 50 euros a night
convenient hotel, however lacking many basics...
the good thing about the hotel is that it is very close to the market and the center where the old streets are, a few minutes walking distance... but the hotel was lacking of many basics; the room was not clean (drapes had stains on them, towels were old, ants in the bathroom...), the bed was extremely uncomfortable (gave us back and neck pain), there was a gasoil smell coming from the bathroom... to name a few things. breakfast is not great, very basic (coffee is not good)... it seems as though the hotel is doing the bare minimum to stay functioning.
Good hotel, shame about the view
On the whole a pleasant stay in a nice hotel with polite and helpful staff. However, a bit disappointing to find that our window was pretty much covered over with outside air-conditioning ducts. Had we spent more time in our room it could have been a bit depressing sat in the gloomy darkness.
Great staff!
The most notable thing about this hotel was the staff. We stayed here two times and every employee was really nice and helpful. Breakfast was good, plenty of options. Rooms were comfortable but nothing special, a little run down. The location is walking distance to things, but had to walk on not so nice streets to get there.
Nice central hotel
Stayed for two nights, no major problems. Value for money
Once a reasonable hotel, but no longer
There's no doubt that a few year's ago this hotel was a reasonable, mid-range hotel. Sadly like the Nicosia Holiday Inn, owned by the same company, it has hit hard times. The hotel is clean and the rooms functional, but there is an air of malaise and melancholy over the place. The restaurant has long since closed, as has the bar and the coffee bar. Only a very indifferent breakfast is served, matched by the indifference of the staff. It is reasonably located for the old city, but there are better places that offer better value. I suggest that you find them.
Good location.
Ok hotel, nothing too special. AC was good, but didn't work for half a day. Wifi is good, but stopped working now and then. Breakfast is good.
Good location
Only a few minutes walk to town centre and crossing place into Turkish controlled Nicosia
Good location, staff, room and hotel dated.
Booked an executive room. Big room but smelled like mold and was dark. No balcony and no view (at back of the building). No flat screen tv no cable. Dirty furniture. Towels torn. Parking space next to the hotel. Friendly staff at reception. Great breakfast. Good location on the center within walking distance from restaurants and supermarkets, bus station.
great location
Great location, within walking distance of Ledras Street so easy for shopping, eating and crossing the border on foot. Nice service from hotel staff and great choice for breakfast.
Great Location
This was an overnight visit, our room was a tad small but did the job for an overnighter. Friendly, helpful staff and a pleasant breakfast.
Bad experience
Bad experience. Very small, old and dirty room. Old towels and bed sheets. To enter the small parking you have to ask the reception.
Nice hotel in a great location
Good location and friendly staff. The room was quiet and clean. Breakfast was average.
It was OK
The hotel needs renovation. The wifi was not offered for free. The breakfast was good and the hotel staff was polite. It was a bit overrated.
Castelli Hotel
Little to be said. I arrived, they told me they had no room for me. They sent me down the road to another (less attractive) hotel. There was no apology or offer of a transfer. Avoid.
Sadly lacking
Unfortunately I was horrified that you can rate this hotel as 3 stars. It is tired and very basic. I had paid for an executive room but it lacked the following: No minibar or tea and coffee facilities , only one greek channel on tv,The towels were grey with over laundering and had stains and holes. The bath plug was dirty. They served the same cake for 3 days at breakfast - by the 3rd day it was dry. The toaster did not toast the bread even after 2 efforts. Bar had been stripped and emptied - only coke vending machine available . No comfortable lounge area. No outside seating area and no restaurant - just breakfast room. Receptionists barely acknowledge you. Tourist information only available in french and russian. No feeling of being welcomed at all. The rates were very high - should be rated 2 star.
Hotel in old town -not up to standard
The hotel was very dissapoiniting. There were problems with the elevator continusasly. The foors were uneven, and the room small and dingy. Add to that the air-conditioning was ineffective/did not cool the room down. Except breakfast there was no restaurant on the presmises. Although the hotel advertise a workout facility there was none at the hotel. To workout you had to travel to another hotel and use their facility. There were no porters or trolley to load suitcases. TV was an antique. In short not a good experience. I do not recommend this hotel.
Great for people who want to walk the old town
Great location with parking, friendly staff and good rooms
Will stay there again next time
Good hotel, excellent breakfast offered for over three hours in the morning in a very nice room, nice lobby, helpful staff, wireless worked quite well, room was smallish but not too small and perfectly acceptable, nice little convenience shop around the corner and all over the old city, location is good because you'll spend more of your time in Nicosia in the old city, satisfied and will stay there again
Good location in old city. They will try to charge you 6 Euro for 24 hours for internet. The plastic sheet under the bottom sheet of the bed does not add to comfort.
Very friendly staff managing a mediocre hotel
In all the stay was pleasant. Mainly because of the extremely friendly and serviceminded staff. But the hotel in itself was a bit on the dirty side. Also during my whole stay (one week) the internet did not work. I had to go over to the Holiday Inn (the same owner as Castelli) to use their internet which was very enoying. For a hotel that caters to business people this is not ok. Looking back I should have picked the Holiday Inn instead eventhough it is a bit more pricier.
O.K. Hotel.
Very good location. I walked everywhere including into North Nicosia. Parking was a muddle. TV didn't work. Breakfast O.K.
Castellit Hotel, Nicosia Cyprus
The hotel is centrally located in the old, walled part of the city. Walking distance to shops and great restaurants plus all the historical sights. Only a few blocks from Lidra Street. Hotel was comfortable and clean, but room was a bit small. Usually don't mind this but was on a work trip and needed to complete work reports in the room. Hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful with any questions I had. Breakfats buffet was excellent with large selection of foods and juices.
Castelli Hotel Nicosia
The Castelli is conveniently located in the Old City near the Cyprus Museum and Eleftheria Square. It has a pleasant appearance, good air-conditioning (very important in Nicosia heat), and a good breakfast buffet. There is a sizable charge for Wifi access, but it did not work in my room; I could only access the internet in the lobby. I stayed for four nights, and on the second day of my stay, I found a large cockroach in the bathroom. The cleanliness of the room was not at issue, but rather the shower drainage arrangements. It took two calls to reception to get the offending creature removed, and the maid who picked it up seemed unconcerned about cleaning the countertop upon which the disabled insect lay. On last full day of my stay, my room was not cleaned. I was not impressed with the hotel.
