Casa Nicolasa was clean and very accessible and convenient to old town, beach and board walk. Room is really small, and if you get the room with windows in the back it can be very noisy. The room was really stuffy because the whole facility has only one heating/air control. When we were here from 3/21-24 it rained all the whole time and rooms facing street can be cold. So the heater was on. But my room with barely no window in a stuffy room was hot. When you open the window for air at night, all you hear is flushing toilet and noise from people in the surrounding area all night long. The facility is like a dorm. With a small front desk in the hall way with a convenient coffee and tea maker. But you can hear people all night long coming out to grab tea etc and talking. Out of the 3 different young staff in the 3 days I stayed. Only one was reasonable equipped to help answer some questions. The young man was a dud, knows nothing and said I don’t know a lot. For a $158/night the location was great but nothing else. So if you want to experience dorm life, this would be the place for you. Small, noisy and no one knows what is gong on.

This place was great! Very clean! We arrived after hours and very clear instructions were given to what we needed to do to get in! We texted them during our last day and asked if we could stay another night and it was no problem! They made it all very easy! Walking distance to everything! Central location!

Lovely staff and room was really nice

The location of the hotel is what attracted me the most (makes Barcelona center walkable) but there’s a massive construction happening right in front of the hotel that seems to be lasting for years making car access super limited and confusing. The area outside is littered with garbage and questionable characters. The hotel itself is kept relatively clean but our shower had a strong smell of mold. For a 3-start hotel that didn’t come cheap (actually it was $30 a night cheaper than a 5-star hotel we stayed at before) absence of an in-room minibar is puzzling. The breakfast was ok, the size of the room is decent and beds were relatively comfortable. We could see that the stuff was putting an effort into the upkeep of the property but I would not stay there again.

Perfect location, excellent quality

Could not have been a better location in San Sebastián! Old Town on the doorstep, and everywhere else (Centro, Gros, Antiguo, beaches, etc) within easy walking distance. Very good quality bedrooms, excellent shower. Complimentary coffee and hot chocolate machine much appreciated.

Excellent centrally located hotel. It is a basic and yet mid to upper range boutique hotel in terms of quality of rooms and customer service. We would definitely stay there again!

So convenient to the old town. Arrived late with WhatsApp info in advance very helpful! I see quite a bit dusk accumulated on the lambs and the bed has few hairs on it so I will say cleanliness be improved.

Efficient, super location, easy, had all we needed inc coffee and umbrellas

We love this hotel! We had a terrace and I strongly recommend anyone to get a room that has a terrace. We enjoyed having a glass of wine and cheese in the evening there. They offer free coffee and tea throughout the day. The hotel overall is very charming. It’s in a perfect area that is at the border of the old town. It’s convenient to all the major attractions, and overall this hotel was so charming that it added to the wonderful memory of our stay in San Sebastian! We highly recommend it.

Very nice property in the middle of the old town of San Sebastián close beaches and pintxo bars. Very clean, comfortable rooms and very friendly / helpful staff. Will stay there again.

Easy to access to the old city area, very clean facilities, nice staff!

Our family enjoyed our three night stay at Casa Nicolasa. Easy walking distance from any point in the city, beaches , restaurants, markets-

One problem is parking. The process to check out your car from the garage is at best confusing. Plus our locked car was broken into while in their care,

Great location, and room was good. But it the feel of an upscale dormitory. Didn’t have the kind of amenities you’d find in a hotel per se. It’s one of those bare bones hybrid deals. Not to say that it’s bad, it’s just not as great as some of the reviews.

Large comfortable room in the perfect location. No coffee maker in the room or restaurant on site but there's an automatic espresso machine that makes good drinks in the lobby. Helpful front desk people.

Ok place.

We loved this property but we had to leave early and pick up our car rental and drive to Malaga about 1000 kms that day! We would love to stay there again!

Fantastic location and very helpful staff. The room was clean and bed very comfortable. I would definitely recommend Casa Nicolasa. My only criticism would be the directions to the parking were a bit vague. It took us four times around to figure it out, but we did in the end and the parking we very good.

Perfectly central to everything needed. Two gentlemen at the front desk were very helpful, communicative, and assisted us in arranging taxi transport. They were willing to hold our luggage until check in. Space was great and inviting had everything needed. Fridge, blow dryer, safe, long mirror to look in, AC.

Everything was great. Location was amazing, the room was cute and clean. Very happy with the experience. Good fast internet, too. I was traveling with my kids and also had to give a talk over zoom during my stay. No problems at all.

Charming hotel, great location, wonderful staff

An absolutely lovely little hotel in the old town and the city center. Even though it doesn't have some of the amenities of a four star hotel (like a bar), it had the loveliest room we stayed in on our trip to the País Vasco, a charming and helpful staff, and a great rate. Near everything and only a 15 minute walk from the main bust station.

Nice place to stay

Enjoyed the coffee bar in the reception area. Was a little difficult to get in...standing out on the sidewalk in the rain buzzing for entry. But finally they responded. Once we had a key, it was no problem.

Hotel is in a great location in Old Town. Staff is extremely helpful and accommodating. I enjoyed my 3 nights here and would stay again. Walk to everything in town.

We had a great stay! The property is perfectly located - walkable to just about everything. Our room faced the courtyard so it kept our room very quiet. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They helped to arrange transportation to the airport (early flight) and loaned us a wine-key. Highly recommend. Would stay again!

Small, quant hotel in the perfect location in San Sebastian. In Old Town close to both beaches. Also close to the transportation center which made getting in and out of town very convenient. It's a really small hotel. There is a small reception area with coffee but that's about it, there is no lobby like you'd find in a more traditional hotel. The staff is happy to help with whatever you need, they were great!

The hotel pictures are different then what the hotel actual is. Courtyard terraces face neighbors apartments.

Small but nice

Location was excellent. Shopping, restaurants are all around. Near the train station and everything else. Walking distance to all things you want to see. But we didn't expect the room to be so small. Other than that, everything was nice. The good coffee and cookies and tea, and the microwave were a huge plus.

Great find. Nice and central with everything in walking distance. Good to have complimentary coffee facilities at any time. Clean and well equipped. Staff very friendly. My only suggestion would be that the property specify in their description about parking which car park should be used to get the discounted rate. It would save a lot of time. If visiting San Sebastian again I would certainly return here.

Fantastic stay from start to finish. The hotel is brilliantly placed in the heart of the Old Town & perfect for exploring all areas of the city. The staff were extremely friendly & helpful, and made us feel really at home. Offering us great local tips for food & renting paddle boards. Everything was spotlessly clean & the room was tastefully done. I really can’t fault it at all. We’ll definitely return to San Sebastián and will stay again at the hotel. It is awesome value for money.

Excellent stay

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Nicolasa. Great location, nice room, good hot water and great to have coffee and tea readily available. The room was also very silent, which is always a plus!

Perfect home base to visit San Sebastian.

From the welcome given us by Roberto upon our arrival, to the repeat of that welcome by each successive staff we met, we were made to feel at home, safe, informed of the local culture, and comfortable. We were so taken with Case Nicolasa that when we came back to San Sebastian, after a side trip within Spain, we canceled our reservation at another venue and returned to this one. We have already recommended Casa Nicolasa to close friends, and will continue to do so without hesitation. We should add that other friends who had rented through Air BnB, on seeing our accommodation, asked how we had ever heard of Casa Nicolasa We had to admit to simple good fortune, as we'd not known of it before.

Great Location. Very Clean...

We loved Casa Nicolasa. Great location, very clean, modern rooms and amenities and the best part was the help yourself complimentary Lavazza Espresso machine in the lobby!

The location was excellent and very close to bars & restaurants. Our room had a balcony which gave us extra space to relax, as the room was smaller than expected. Great coffee machine in reception area.

Some good points - some bad.

Great location and well appointed apartment but very small room. We probably noticed the room size more because it was raining quite a lot which meant we spent more time in the room. Large terrace (although not great if you value your privacy) - but bad weather meant we didn’t use this area at all. Still enjoyed our stay but might look elsewhere if visiting again. Perhaps a bit overpriced. Had friends staying nearby is similar accommodation which 2as much less expensive.

Great stay, a couple of things to know

Big, nicely decorated room. Very helpful staff. Convenient location. The patio was very nice and the room and bathroom were larger than expected. I was in a room on the first floor and it did get noisy as it was near the front desk so you could hear everything going on through the door. Not a ton of privacy. The only other thing to note is the desk closes at 9pm so if you get locked out accidentally or lose your key or your plane/train/bus gets in late, you’re out of luck.

The staff are so helpful and pleasant. They gave us an idea of where was good to visit and to eat. The room was beautiful and we had a lovely terrace. There is free tea and coffee at reception and this was a really nice touch.

Complimentary drinks in the fridge! Gorgeous balcony and prime location.

Best location for nightlife

Fantastic location and helpful hosts. Coffee machine was a bonus as was free use of umbrellas. Secure entry to the building, shops and laundry nearby as well the beautiful old area of the city. Only downside was the room was a bit small for the tow of us.

Great Boutique Hotel

Rooms are decorated very stylishly, and we had an amazing balcony overlooking the street. Reception was amazing and super friendly. Gave us a great overview of places to explore in the area. Awesome showers and comfortable beds. Definitely worth another stay!

Comfort and location

We arrived inSanSebastian for a two night stay as we began our return home after eight weeks away. The location was perfect - right next to the old city and bars, quick walk to the beach and an easy walk to shopping malls. Our room was excellent. Very comfy large bed made sleeping easy. The room was large enough for us to repack our four cases - enough space to spread out. The desk, chair etc were useful. The lobby coffee and tea were very appreciated. The reception provided great advice about where to go and see - totally helpful. With a rental car, we received a email the day of our booking describing which parking station to use. Ideally, arrive earlier than lunchtime on a warm sunny Saturday!! We found a space and it was easy to transport our luggage. Best of all, on departure our 48 hour parking voucher could be purchased for 35€ at the guesthouse. The parking pay machine would have charged 51.80€! A terrific guesthouse - we will return one day!!

San Sebastián is a beautiful town and Casa Nicolasa was a great place to stay, tastefully decorated and furnished, terrific location right in the old town. Staff very efficient and helpful. Would definitely recommend!
