Casa Luna definitely set the mood for our Rain Forest excursion. Beautiful Resort Like Hotel with a lush landscape setting. It felt very secluded even though it was an only a 5 minute from the main street. The rooms are very private, spacious and clean. Our balcony had a view of the volcano. The grounds are very well maintained, we enjoyed the 6 hot tubs nestled away from the main pool. The staff was friendly and attentive. Nice dining in the restaurant .The message topped off our experience.

Nice hotel

This is a nice hotel. Check in was easy and the room was comfortable. Our only disappointment was that only one of the five hot tubs was actually hot. We were told to push the button on each ahead of time to warm them up, but that was unsuccessful.

Great location

Pros: the hotel grounds are nice, staff were very helpful/friendly, the pool area is great, and the breakfast was excellent. It's in a great location close to La Fortuna waterfall and walking distance to the El Salto rope swing and a few restaurants. We had a car though, and I would recommend having one if staying here for better access to La Fortuna. Cons: the wifi doesn't work in the rooms - only in the pool area, restaurant, and lobby. The bed (specifically the pillows) were not comfortable, quite hard. Lastly, the walls are very thing and you can hear everything. If you have good neighbors it's not a problem, but we had some young girls partying at 3:00am above us and it was terrible. Despite that on the first night, the staff were accomodating and moved us upon request. Overall, I would stay again.

Very nice hotel and amenities. Very close drive to volcano and waterfall as well as downtown La Fortuna. Great for downtime after a day of exploring.

It wa amazing

The property is very nice. Room was spacious and clean. Some of the staff and service weren’t great. Has a nice pool and hot tubs, but it advertises as having an adult only pool which isn’t enforced as kids were running to and from the pool to all the hot tubs.

Great property - enjoyed our stay

Stayed for 2 nights. Great location, if you have a car, that is convenient to many things without being right in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. Extremely quiet with amazing landscaping and birds - had a tree full of toucans one evening! Having 6 individual hot tubs was nice as one was always available. Drinks at the pool bar were very good. Entire property was very clean. Room was updated and big. Only negatives I would mention is the WiFi and TV were not the best but we were in vacation so it didn’t really bother us. We would definitely stay here again if we get back to La Fortuna!!

Nice, quiet and safe place to stay

Beautiful clean space. Staff very helpful. We did not have hot water one day and they were so apologetic and it was fixed right away. Will def stay there again

Wonderful stay, great location!

Loved the hotel, except for toilet stop up issues. Did everything we could to prevent, but had to worry about toilet and smelled outside room.

What a great property, exceeded expectations, beautiful grounds, several hottub pools that were private with lush vegetation, great restaurant and daily breakfasts included with our room rate, walkable to town (approx 2 miles, safe sidewalks)

I stayed here four years ago and thought it was so well laid out in nature and with the pools and flowers and birds that I reserved again. The people are so friendly and helpful. The food is excellent. They only need to describe it better on the menu. The portions of the appetizers are enough for a meal. The spa is beautiful. My husband and I both had massages looking at and listening to the nature outdoors. I also had one of the best facials I ever had. This hotel makes me want to come back and stay whenever I can come back to Costa Rica. It was very relaxing rain or shine.

Staff members and the property was amazing

This is a beautiful riverside lodge which allows its residents to listen to the sound of the rushing river while seeing many species of birds and other animals on the grounds. There were many bird watchers in the dining hall and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The did a river safari tour which helped us to see even more caiman, iguanas, howler monkeys and toucans.

I did not like the pillows, they were really hard and big. Everything else was beautiful, the jacuzzi was amazing!

We had a good experience at Casa Luna. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The restaurant in the hotel served delicious food. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Very quiet place with unbeatable views of the volcano! Only wish the jacuzzi was hotter. We tried all three and they were barely warm. We also booked a massage and facial but they just rubbed ridiculous amounts of oil on us. However, the food was delicious in the morning. I definitely recommend booking the romantic dinner! The experience was out of this world!! 10/10

We absolutely fell in love with the property. The perfect balance of jungle, amazing pool and hot baths, impeccable property, super comfortable rooms with amazing beauty products, super friendly staff. All that with a priceless view on the volcano. We also loved that we could walk into town to experience the local fun (El Salto, Soda El Rio, etc) and nearby Ginger bar.

Overall my stay was absolutely perfecto! One of my main concerns was the included breakfast. It seemed like leftovers from the day before. And the fruit was always uncovered and flys would be on it. I only drink bottled water which is a $6 charge. The spa area outside didn’t look as beautiful as the online pictures. Other than that, everyone was kind, positive, friendly, and polite. If you like sleepy close to nature then this is it! We had a lizard or something cute in the bathroom every morning at 5am, then it would disappear until the next day. 🥰☀️

Great hotel for the price

Friendly and helpful staff. The pools, hot tub and bar were a plus. The scebary, gardens and closeness to town and other activities were the best.

1. The pools and jacuzzis are nice and close to all apartments, 2. You see beautiful birds, salamanders, iguanas, and crabs on the property (around jacuzzi and pools mostly), 3. The environment is quiet and peaceful, 4. Uber to town is $3-4 USD, Uber to Sloth Territory is $5-7, and you can walk 10-15 minutes to some nice restaurants with Costa Rica and Salvadorean food.

Lucky to have stayed here

Casa Luna is overall a wonderful place to stay. The set up of the rooms is neat - more like cabins in a sense. Noise was no issue - the walls seemed to be very adept at reducing the noise from neighbors and the music from the pool. So, very quiet. We loved sitting on the balcony overlooking the beautiful grounds and various bird species feeding on nearby plants. There is a wonderful path down to the creek that provides a feeling of being in a semi-intact rainforest setting. Overall, such a great stay with the kids who loved the path, the pool, the wildlife, and the food from the restaurant. Location is excellent too - nearby restaurants and the waterfall. I would go back.

We stayed in a “Superior Room” on the ground floor - it was large, clean, and the AC was effective. The best part though was the patio as it opens up to a small, lush green garden with lots of birds, frogs, and insect sounds. Breakfast was good, particularly the fresh fruits. Location is excellent - it’s about 5 minutes from lots of restaurants as well as La Fortuna Falls and about 25-30 minutes to Arenal National Park. The reason for 4 stars vs 5 is the staff. We had a great stay

Excellent stay. Wonderful spa and gardens. Rooms simple but clean and view of the area. Restaurant was expensive but good food. Close to town but quiet and far enough away to make for great stay!

Great experience

We really enjoyed staying here because it was clean, the views were incredible, and it was close to La Fortuna town. The pool was a good size and we liked the little hot tubs. The breakfast included was yummy just keep in mind that they start at 7 am! Some tours were earlier than that, so we wouldn’t have time to eat.

Grounds are beautiful. There are 7 hot tubs but no hot springs and the food is average.

Excellent stay. Amazing breakfast. Trail behind is a gem. Pool and all the spa are excellent as well.

Such a beautiful hotel, everything was so clean and the employees so genuinely nice. The breakfast was amazing which is included in your stay and the dinner for purchase was also amazing. Fabian the pool bar attendant is so sweet and helpful , Celeste whom works in the kitchen is so kind, attentive and very sweet. The check in process was so easy and the front desk was also so sweet and helpful. At check out Ashley helped us and was also such a kind person. Overall my stay was a 100/10 . La fortuna waterfall is a short drive and the thermal hot springs are super close. I will definitely be back here !

Great place to stay in La Fortuna area

Location was great, we got to town fast by car. Is good to have a car, but you can walk to town even though is a long walk. Room was clean and comfortable, the shower was great. Quiet, relaxing hotel. Only thing they need more chairs outside your room when you travel with more than two people and need a place to hangout your wet clothes

The best feature was the direct view of the volcano but also the beds are comfortable, room was clean and pretty, breakfast was delicious.

Great value. Hotel property and location was perfect, felt secluded, but close to town. The spa experience was magical, with natural sounds of the rainforest in the background, very relaxing. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Complimentary breakfast with a lot of options (and the best fresh fruit!) The only negative was dinner at the restaurant on site, expensive for the quality (we were the only people dining there).

Spent day with family of 4 beautiful views and beautiful pool staff friendly. Dinner options isn’t family friendly we had to pack up in the car and go to another restaurant, which was nice we found a charming restaurant nearby.

Absolutely lovely place to stay. The rooms are nice and super clean. The surrounding grounds are well Kept and absolutely beautiful. There are about 7 thermal pools/jacuzzis in addition to the main pool and a kiddie pool. The breakfast is really amazing. Loved our 3 day stay. The only thing lacking is the fact that there is no WiFi in the room which was an issue for us since we had to get work done. The staff was nice enough to let us borrow a conference room for 3 days in a row to get some work done for a few hours in the evenings which was really nice. We also loved the little hike/walkway down to the river bed. There is a nice spa which we didn’t use but looks nice and clean. The attached picture is of all the flowers in the garden. We highly recommend Chante Verde restaurant down the street for dinner where we went two days in a row. One more thing to add: their shampoo and conditioner in the room are out of this world. I need to track it down and bring some home.

Loved that the hotel is surrounded by a rainforest setting. We got to hear frogs, birds and crickets and love the peacefulness of nature. Breakfast was great with ala carte omelette bar. Room was clean and comfy. There was even an umbrella in the room for guest. I would recommend this hotel.

Stayed here with friends. Was very comfortable. Very nice pool and 'hot' tub (more like warm tub but still good). Fairly quiet. Great breakfast selection.

Everything about the place was great would def stay there again

Beautiful property and the breakfast was delicious. We were awakened by Howler monkeys playing in the trees. There is a nature trail around the property where we saw the monkeys, poison blue Jean frogs, toucans, hummingbirds and the most amazing flowers. The view of the volcano is incredible.

This is what you call a pleasant surprise - the hotel was better than what I imagined based on the pictures. The decor of the hotel has been tastefully created everywhere - in the lobby, in the rooms… Each room is a separate cottage - with direct view of the Arenal volcano. Really enjoyed our stay.

Property was very well maintained. We enjoyed walking through the gardens. Very well lit paths for walking at night and enjoying the fish ponds. The rooms are extremely clean and staff takes the time to leave a unique town animal on the bed each day. We booked this hotel the day before our stay and it exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed both nights on the patio chairs enjoying the sounds of nature and a relentless bullfrog.

We recently stayed at Casa Luna Hotel and Spa in La Fortuna, Costa Rica, and it was an exceptional experience! The location is ideal, being close to downtown, various restaurants, and numerous activities. We enjoyed hiking, visiting the volcano, rafting, exploring Misco Park, relaxing in the hot springs, and so much more. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable, contributing to a relaxing stay. The staff at Casa Luna were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ensuring we had everything we needed. Additionally, the free breakfasts were a wonderful perk, offering a great start to each day. Overall, Casa Luna provided a perfect base for our adventures in La Fortuna. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

The husband & wife owners are amazing people. They treat you like family and it was just an over-the-top incredible experience. If you’re going to Evita, this is the place to stay. Amazing breakfast. And if you ask nicely, they’ll make you an incredible fresh piña colada. You’ll never experience anything better in your life.

Beautiful

Beautiful Spanish style hotel! We loved the unique touch of our towels in the room when we entered. It was a lovely stay and quiet. The only thing we was the wifi was very spotty for us, we were further back in the property so I would assume if you had a room closer to the entrance it would be better, but as you walked to the back it got worse. Other than that, loved it!

Everything at Casa Luna was wonderful. The staff is helpful and easy to communicate with. The property is beautiful and well maintained. We did not want to leave!

This was an excellent stay! Absolutely beautiful view of Volcan Arenal. Excellent continental breakfast. Very clean staff rooms. Front desk was able to accommodate for inconveniences of tours very promptly and is available for any assistance. Highly recommend!!

The staff is incredible, and the hotel is very clean and comfortable. At the spa we had a wonderful service, specially thanks to the Lady named Madday. At the restaurant, we tried Ceviche Tilapia, it was a great option for dinner, it was fresh and delicious, and also the Chef prepared the "patacones" we ask for as side dish for the Ceviche, even though it was not listed in the menu. Love the hot springs!

It was a great property, but the dinners were a bit pricey
