If you want to stay at an amazing boutique hotel, this is it! The staff went above & beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Great restaurants within walking distance.
Warm welcome
Nice location lovely place and friendly hosts
Excellent service, friendly staff. Very clean. Breakfast was really good fresh and tasty.
The hotel was perfect.. staff was amazing and extremely helpful. Breakfast was very nice.. would highly recommend
Casa Joaquin is a wonderful boutique hotel. It's so cute and clean. Breakfast was great. Francisco and Olga were fantastic and very helpful with arranging tours and drivers. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Best, Renée V.
Franciso the owner of the hotel is fantastic!! he gave us excellent restaurants to dine at and was very helpful in arranging our taxi to the airport and even was there to greet us at 2 am when we arrived during curfew hours and also to say goodbye at 5 am when we departed. he also arranged for us to have breakfast early when we climbed Cotopaxi. the room was really nice and the hotel is a great location for walking to restaurants and shopping.. I totally recommend casa Joaquin boutique hotel, great place to stay in Quito!!
Francisco was very helpful with every aspect of our stay. From organizing the shuttle from the airport to giving us daily tips on when and where to visit in Quito. The breakfast service was second to none. 5 stars from our visit.
Couldn’t be nicer in any respect. Our absolute favorite place to stay in Quito. Wonderful management, very comfortable and excellent breakfast. Look forward to returning soon.
We only stayed for one night but the customer service was fantastic. The room itself was spacious but cosy. Would recommend highly.
Great historic hotel near all the shopping, restaurants, and bars. It was quiet on the street at night so i got a good sleep. Great staff service. I missed my breakfast time as i was still on Galapagos time and they brought me fruit, juice, toast and eggs! Thank you for that wonderful service. Would highly recommend.
Great hotel with even better service
What made this special was the lovely family hosts who looked after us on our first visit to Ecuador. Service plus plus with a smile.
Amazing staff! Very helpful. Super clean and beautiful building. Breakfast was great. Could be a little noisy at night if you are on the street.
This is such a cozy hotel. We loved our room and all the special touches it had. The breakfast was great, the Manager gave us great ideas for where to go for dinner, and made us some great drinks. I only wish I got to spend more time there. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Quito!
Great hotel!
This place was fantastic the breakfast is amazing and the people where very nice and helpful! We were very happy at Casa Joaquin. It's very clean, fantastic service and great staff.
Casa Joaquín is an amazing, quiet bed & breakfast style hotel in the center of La Mariscal which has easy walkable access to affordable restaurants, bars, clubs, and the artisan markets. General Manager Francisco was incredibly kind and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. We stayed in the larger family suite which was spacious and comfortable and has a beautiful kitchen. The breakfast every morning was also delicious. We would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves traveling to Quito in the future!
Wonderful family stay
Wonderful staff. Very comfortable accommodations. Great restaurants near by.
Lovely hotel but keep your things put away.
We loved the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were also great! The location was quite conveniently located to a number of restaurants. The only odd occurrence was that my nightgown disappeared. It was returned the next morning and the explanation was that it was caught up in the sheets when they were changed but I found this odd. It also was not necessary to change the sheeys as they had only been used one night.
hotel stuffs are very ncie
We really enjoyed our stay at this boutique hotel. It was a clean and a very cozy atmosphere. The staff were very attentive and provided us with excellent customer service. The staff assisted with all of our transportation needs and made us feel like we were at home. Breakfast was healthy and hearty. We would stay here again. I highly recommend this friendly establishment.
Charming boutique hotel, felt like home, great room decor, clean, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast.
Small charming boutique hotel, wonderful setting. It has a feel of a dream traditional home, the room was spacious and charming, the bathroom modern and at the same time the design fit in with the traditional homey feel of the room. Staff friendly and very helpful, good breakfast. The location in the Mariscal Foch area with restaurants and night life. The big street near it closes for traffic on Sunday and the locals bike on it and through the nearby park, very cool.
We had a great stay at Casa Joaquin, the hotel staff are the most friendly and attentive, really treat you as guests and made sure you had a great experience
Couldn’t ask for a better or more accommodating host! Issues we had all related to protests nationwide that closed old part of Quito and resulted in curfews and road blocks. Francisco still managed to direct us to some interesting and safe activities!
Jaw-Dropping-Attention-to-Detail
This hotel has a “jaw-dropping-attention-to-detail” quality that is often hard to find. It is in a great location, is super clean and the receptionist is very attentive. Even though I think not very many guests were there on my stay, the breakfast display was varied and beautifully layed out. The staff and owners must care a lot about the guest experience and it shows.
Francisco and his staff are absolutely wonderful!!! Breakfast is amazing and they try to do something slightly different each day which I really appreciated. Everytime I came down from my room to leave Francisco would check in and make sure I was enjoying my stay and ask if I needed anything. The location is convenient to get to things. I found uber to be a cheap and easy option. Javier, the taxi driver was very punctual with picking me up from the airport. He was standing right outside of customs with a sign waiting for me to exit. He was very helpful with explaining some sights and history of Quito on our ride to town. It can be a little noisy at night, however, I just find it to be typical of the area. I had no trouble sleeping through it but a light sleeper might want to have some earplugs handy. I try to stay in smaller boutique hotels to support local when traveling. This hotel is run with love and dedication. I would definitely stay here again if ever in Quito and highly recommend it!!!
We have stayed in this Boutique Hotel on 3 occasions, and while we absolutely love everything about this property, the neighborhood has changed a bit since Covid and there are lots of bars, and nightclubs close by. I still felt safe and we were able to find very good restaurants nearby. The service at this Hotel is totally awesome and they go out of their way to accommodate your every desire. I will continue to stay here whenever I am in Quito.
The property is beautiful, and very secure. Breakfast is lovely, and Francisco saw to everything I needed. The only drawback to my stay was that the internet was basically unusable on my floor. Be aware there is no elevator, so trekking up and down the stairs can be tricky for some.
This was first time traveling to South American, let alone solo. I don’t know what I would’ve done without this place! Prior to arriving, they answered ALL my question via email promptly! They were kind enough to provide transportation, Javier is amazing, the best tour guide! Infinitely grateful to Francisco for helping book tours and food recommendations. I was naive to think everywhere i went had contactless payment but Francisco was extremely kind enough to help me with that issue. The hotel is lovely, comfortable and clean; felt like home! I cannot emphasize how great the stay was from the food, the room, and the extremely great staff!! This was an amazing “semi-post COVID” getaway! Looking forward to my next stay. :) P.S. thanks everyone here, I was able to try a bunch of new foods and drinks!!!!
So welcoming and comfortable
Francisco met us at the door and for the entire duration of our stay made us feel so well looked after, right down to packing us a sandwich for the road since we had a very early flight the next day. The area is good and the rooms are comfortable, definitely recommend. Free wine on the roof was a touch of class!
Best Service Ever ! Owned by family and personal service the best I have ever gotten. Room large with Awesome Shower. Breakfast yummy!
A pleasant stay during a unexpected lockdown
The hotel and manager were both absolutely outstanding during our stay. Francisco made the stay very comfortable despite the Covid lockdown that was initiated prior to our arrival unknown to us. He made the experience of being confined to the hotel for two days very comfortable. He truly went over and above with customer service. I highly recommend this lovely hotel
This place is outstanding! Everything from location in Quito, to the cleanliness of the entire hotel, to the wonderful breakfast, and amazing staff! This hotel came recommended by my Lonely Planet Ecuador & The Galápagos book and the price was right. Francisco made sure we had everything we needed for a restful night’s stay. I had a bit of altitude sickness and he ensured I had as much coca tea as I needed in order to enjoy our time in Quito. We were also offered an airport pickup and drop off by a lovely man named Javier who also offered to take us around Quito the day we were in town laying over from the Galápagos. If you get the chance to meet Javier, jump at the chance to tour around the city with him. He is knowledgeable and kind and his English was perfect (which really helped us as our Spanish is not so good). Look no further, this is your home away from home in Quito!
Casa Joachin Quito: our second home!
Our stay at this hotel was fabulous! We stayed twice before and after our trip to Galapagos . Xavier picked us up at the airport both times, and was a kind and knowledgeable guide. Francisco made us feel like family! The wonderful breakfast was even better with his charm and kindness This truly was an exquisite experience!
A perfect stay in Quito
WOW. This hotel is amazing! Francisco is so attentive to customer's needs and so kind. The room was clean, simple, and stylish. Housekeeping was wonderful and made the room spotless every day. Breakfast was made to order and truly delicious. We looked forward to it every day! Fresh juice, fresh fruit, eggs, toast, etc. Sometimes we had to leave before the official breakfast time, and Francisco offered us breakfast even earlier. It was the perfect start to a day when we had full day excursions. The hotel is near Plaza Foch so we had many dining options only a 2 minute walk away. The roof terrace was really nice to get some fresh air in the evening. We loved staying here so much. It made us so comfortable in Quito. I HIGHLY recommend you stay here!
Mike recommends!
Very nice boutique hotel situated near good restaurants, good gay nightlife scene and a short ride to quite a selection of churches and other historical sites. The staff speaks Spanish, English, French and other language. A great value.
We had a very nice stay at this hotel. Clean, good breakfast and fantastic staff. My son in law forgot his cell phone in the cab taking us back to the airport. Since the hotel had arrange the ride we called them, they contacted the driver, got the phone back and shipped it to us. We cannot be more thankful we stayed at Casa Joaquin.
Everything was great. Definitely would go back again Ecuador was great
Wonderful Stay at Casa Joaquin
Very gracious owner/host of this hotel. Breakfast was wonderful and staff were very flexible in catering to individual's schedules - i.e. - I had to depart early, prior to when they typically prepare breakfast, and they woke early to make sure breakfast was prepared for me. Just one example of catering to needs of guests. Would recommend this hotel for anyone whether on holiday or traveling for business like I was.
It’s a charming small boutique hotel - with a wonderful breakfast and barista Veronica. All if the staff are excellent and very helpful.
The staff here were excellent! They went above and beyond expectations to help us. They organized a tour of the city for us and had breakfast and hot coffee ready for us on our arrival. The day we left we were leaving before breakfast started but they made us breakfast to go. When our bus tour was late picking us up they phoned the company for us without us even asking. They were all so friendly and more helpful then I ever imagined. The property itself is nice. Clean and a good location. The beds were quite hard but overall I have nothing to complain about our stay here. I would stay here again.
This hotel is very clean. It seems a very authentic Ecuadorian experience. The breakfast that’s included is pretty good (eggs to order, fruit, cappuccinos, bread) the rooms are quaint and nicely decorated and the water in ours was hot with good pressure. The front desk staff is outstanding. Veronica, Alexander and William will look after you well!
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was too small so another was promptly made available. Veronica was exceptional!
Best
The staff was absolutely amazing
The Best Place to Stay in Quito Bar None!!!!
Fantastic - If you are ever in Quito you need to stay here - it is right in the middle of everything, the room are absolutely fabulous, but it is the service and hotel management that makes this hotel experience one of the very best I have ever had! A place to "call your home away from home". Amazing people!!
Lovely Boutique Hotel
Lovely hotel very close to plaza Foch. Hotel staff are amazing, very friendly and accommodating! They can easily organize tours or transfers to and from the tourist attractions.
Amazing hospitality
Amazing staff and hospitality. The hotel was well located and I couldn’t ask for better customer service.
Nice room, good location, friendly staff, restaurants nearby
Casa Joaquin brings Quito's charms to life, and the staff is absolutely exceptional!
Staff are very helpful and accommodating. Right in center of the city where you can experience all the excitements and energetic of the city. Due to that it can also be quite noisy in the night.
This is a very comfortable, well kept hotel in a busy tourist area. It’s not luxurious and, while comfortable, not a place to hang out all day. After all, you aren’t going to Quito to sit inside, right? The staff was welcoming and I would definitely stay here again.
The hotel indeed feels like home and the staff are attentive, gracious and available. I’ll definitely come back here next time.
Our stay at Casa Joaquin was delightful! It was quiet, peaceful, and the hospitality was impeccable. The staff were helpful and kind, the breakfast was great, and the location couldn’t be beat. Additionally, the room was clean, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing. Overall, an excellent time and we would highly recommend!
Staff is great
It was a nice average hotel in a good location for nightlife and restaurants.
Casa Joaquin was a cute little hotel in the center of Quito. The rooms were clean and well appointed. Staff was delightfully helpful. Their breakfasts were a great start to the day. Would stay there again.
Excellent location, beautiful room, lovely staff.
Great place but beds are small and hard
Lovely hotel. Nice rooms, good breakfast, in a nice area and the staff were really great. However the bed was hard and for me uncomfortable (even for Ecuador standards) and the “queen” was at most a double. I’d recommend booking 2 twins if there are 2 people. Staff were wonderful and I recommend booking a tour with Xavier to Mindo or Midard del Mundo.
We loved this property. The rooms were small but lovely, the location was great, and the people working there were extremely helpful. I will definitely stay there again if I ever have the opportunity to be back in Quito.
Wonderful In ever way!
The hotel was very clean and beautifully maintained. The staff was beyond accommodating and made our stay here perfect. Breakfast was just what we needed to start our day, and you cannot beat the freshly made to order coffee each morning.
Beautiful, clean, great staff, uncomfortable bed!
I loved this quaint little hotel except the bed was so hard that I couldn’t rest at all! All they need is some soft foam toppers!
A very special place
The most wonderful, caring, thoughtful people work here. This place is a gem. I could not have been happier. It is cute, clean and safe. The staff is so helpful and knowledgable. Vinicio and Franklin were so warm and welcoming. They made me feel like family. Oh! And Xavier, the driver who the hotel arranged to pick me up from the airport was amazing. He speaks very good English and was willing to speak Spanish with me as well, as I am learning and love to try. I even hired him later to drive me to Mindo and we stopped at the equator and a volcano along the way. Location is great. It is walking distance to lots of restaurants, a market, museums, and Old Town...although The walk to Old Town should not be done after dark. Take a taxi. I asked for a quiet room and it was very quiet on a Friday night when town is hoppin! It was my birthday when I was there and the hotel staff made it a very special day for me. They were so thoughtful and went above and beyond. Everyone else I spoke with at the hot was very happy with the hotel as well.
Had a Wonderful Stay!
Great service. Friendly staff. Delicious breakfast. Fast WiFi.
The hotel was very nice. Franklin was the best. He was very helpful and thanks for calling me back in the cab when I left my glasses. The hotel is in a great location.
Great little boutique hotel
This is a great little boutique hotel in all aspects. The very best part is the incredible staff, who were so helpful in arranging transportation to/from the Quito airport (nearly an hour drive from the city) and providing suggestions for ways to tour the Old Town. They also gave us a dinner recommendation -- La Petit Mariscal -- that was fabulous.
Friendly, helpful staff and comfortable beds. The location is convenient in an interesting area with some of the best restaurants in Quito.
Delicious breakfast prepared by excellent staff. Great location. Secure.
The employees are extremely nice and helpful Patricio, Vinicio and Franklin is fully bilingual very cordial tentative to the needs of the my needs. I travel very often and gone to too many parts of the world and the staff really wen out of their way to assist me as I needed.
The room was very comfortable and quiet and we were especially impressed by Franklin who went out of his way to make our Quito experience better.
Lovely boutique hotel with nice touches and helpful, friendly staff.
Wonderful staff
Great service, as always, with kind, helpful, attentive staff. Nothing is too much trouble. The only negative point is that the area immediately around the hotel has deteriorated during the past few years.
Great hotel in Quito!
Nice boutique hotel in Quito up and coming area. Excellent friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable clean rooms. Very reasonablle rate included a good breakfast. you cannot walk to the historic area but a taxi is about 2-3 dollars and it is recommended to have hotel arrange pick up. Hotel arranged an English speaking driver Javier for airport transfers and for tours. He was excellent and we learned a lot about the city and area from him. I would highly recommend this hotel. 24 hr front desk and door to street locked so we felt safe there.
I highly recommend this hotel. It is located within walking distance of the historic downtown and a lively night life area. The staff were very helpful. I had a cold from walking around in the high mountains that surround Quito. I was sick in my room when the night clerk knocked on my door and brought me a tray with tea, honey and different fruits to help me make feel better. This kind, caring action really touched my heart.
Great choice for a safe and quiet hotel, very clean and cute, truly reflects the local culture. The neighbourgood is not safe at all (single woman traveler here), but the hotel is located a block away from it, so I felt very safe inside. It is walkable and easily accessible by taxi (10 min from Centro Historico).
Nothing but good things to say about this hotel. Servìce, location, cleanliness and price....all go together to make this a hotel I would highly recommend.
Great location for exploring Quito. Friendly staff. Breakfast includes made to order eggs or French toast and an espresso coffee. Fresh fruit available all day. Rooms are nicely decorated and beds are comfortable.
Very friendly staff
Spend two nights in the hotel. Hotel staff Franklin, Alex, and one I did remember his name were really nice and helpful. Franklin packed breakfast for us for early departure.
Don’t forget to ask an espresso in breakfast
Friendly staffs with great hospitality to help you on almost everything you needed. Located in an area surrounded by several nice restaurants. Small hotel without elevator , nevertheless, their service is beyond satisfaction.
Excellent Hotel
Very nice hotel with excellent service. Clean and modern rooms with nice shower and good towels. Made to order breakfast was excellent. Front desk arranged an English speaking driver/guide for 2 days we stayed and he was also excellent.
Fantastic stay.
We had a fantastic, but brief stay at Casa Joaquin. They staff went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and taken care of with respect to restaurant suggestions, taxi coordination to and from the airport, luggage storage for multiple days. Wonderful establishment with extraordinary staff. Highly recommended.
Wonderful Stay In Quito
Second trip to Quito, Ecuador in 6 months. Stayed at Casa Joaquin both trips and will absolutely stay there in the future. The staff and facilities are top notch.
Home away from home...
From the moment we were picked up from the airport by Xavier (through a pre-arranged paid shuttle) to our check-out, the service has been excellent! Our room was spacious and the location of the hotel is not too far from all the attractions. Taxis can be arranged by reception and the fare is really cheap. Breakfast was sufficient and the coffee was superb. Highly recommended and special mention goes to Alexandros and Patrick who took care of us so well.
2 night stay in Mariscal
Stayed for 2 nights. Staff very accommodating. Room warm with no air conditioning but fan readily available. Near the Quito market (10 minute walks and near main plaza ( 2 minute walk) with lots of people and activity. Police presence very visible and felt safe in the area. Staff very helpful with advice and in arranging drivers.
Clean and Service orientated..
Wonderful staff who can assist you with getting to your tour, or assist with setting up a tour while you are in Quito. Extremely friendly staff. 3 stories. No elevator. Wonderful hot breakfast and a real coffee /espresso machine. Loved the location.
Casa Joaquin
All of the reception staff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you Patrico, Vincenzo, Franklin, Alexander and others. You folks make the hotel experience a pleasure. Also their driver Javier is excellent for day tours and airport pickups or drop offs.
Again, our stay was very pleasant. Staff very friendly and attentive. Ask for restaurant suggestions, try Miskay. Xavier is an excellent guide.
Good hotel, great staff
Good hotel, great staff and great location. Also really good cocktails at the bar.
Quito Boutique
The staff in this hotel anticipated all of our needs before we did and filled them I.e. coffee or tea in the afternoon as we enjoyed their salon, packed sandwiches when we had to leave before breakfast for the airport, taxi driver who knew exactly what we needed very early in the morning, recommendations for a manicure and laundry. At first, I was concerned about the location...very near late night entertainment, but it was no problem. Just don’t walk at night. Casa Joaquin was a veritable joy. Cooked breakfast too!
Excellent stay in Mariscal Foch area
It was a pleasant stay with excellent service and a spotless room. Breakfast was very good with more choices than the typical buffet and eggs to order. They made omelettes to order and also had French toast on the menu. The coffee was served as nicely as in any upscale coffee shop. The staff were friendly, attentive and thoughtful.
The staff have gone out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. This is my second time staying at this hotel and I would definitely come back again!
Charm in the middle of it all
What sets Casa Joaquin apart from the rest is their service. The entire staff is so friendly and helpful in navigating around Quito and beyond. Every time we asked for the Taxi, they ensured the Taxi driver knew where he was going and that the meter was running. The location is a great base for exploring Qutio.
Wonderful staff, comfortable rooms. We really enjoyed our stay.
Fantastic oasis in the middle of everything.
Great boutique hotel w/ awesome staff, near many restaurants and bars, and within a short walking distance to the main tourist attractions. Would stay here again.
First in front in front of hotel doesn’t look convincing, but when we checked in and catered by front desk named Franklin ,we received a very welcoming scenario that gets our attention. The whole stay was very impressive, hotel cleanliness, location and etc... and price was not bad. We totally enjoyed our stay its because of the hotel staff they are amazing and very professional .
Love C. J. Hotel. Stayed twice
great staff and facility and nice location. wonderful breakfasts. Many good restaurants nearby Ask for local cab driver Xavier - they know who he is. Very knowledgeable and friendly.
Awesome Stay in Quito
If you are every traveling to Quito, Ecuador, You can't go wrong with this stay. The place is a gem in the heart of a great part of town. The staff here is fabulous. They were very very helpful and courteous. I will definitely be staying here again the next time I'm in Quito.
Nice hotel
Very clean, close to Plaza Foch, walkable to nice restaurants, very friendly staff

I stayed one and the place is really beautiful. It’s new , fresh , and clean. The service is amazing . Valeria took time out of her morning to walk with me to some shops so I could buy some items I forgot . Super sweet . Highly recommend this hotel.
