Great place to stay a night in Chivay.
The staff was super friendly and helpful. Especially the front desk staff. The rooms were clean and cozy. We had a space heater and warm blankets for those cold nights high up in the mountains of Colca. It honestly was the best hotel breakfast ive had while i stayed in the Arequipa area. The breakfast had a big variety I would recommend it to anyone. I would definitely stay here again if i ever visit Colca and would recommend it to anyone. Gracias a todos desde los Estados Unidos Miguel V.
Lovely cabins with all modern amenities.
Nice place
Great hotel with little chalets. It gets cold at night. Wi fi a bit difficult but great place.
Excellent stay
Everything absolutely great. Really nice hotel and friendly efficient staff. The only minor annoyance what that on checkin I asked that my credit card was charged in local currency or US$. No stupid dynamic conversion with 4% markup which seems to happen often in Peru. I was charged in GBP resulting in around £6 extra expense. Checkin staff assured me I had been charged in $. The receipt and card statement say otherwise.
Decent hotel en route to Colca Canyon
Overnight stay in Colca Valley - there are limited hotels here but this hotel was fine. We were a little tired after an early start so we decided to eat in rather than go into the town. Service was a little haphazard at the bar and the food distinctly average. Staff were pretty good and room was fine. Overall not a bad stay!
no internet in room
Bonito hotel, desayuno debe mejorar
Nice hotel, worth a visit.
Great hotel with a few weird quirks. The rooms were comfortable and nice enough for one night and the staff was friendly, but easily confused. They couldn’t figure out what day I arrived in the country because I arrived late on the 17th but by the time I got through immigration it was after midnight the next day, so I wrote 17th as the day I arrived but my passport stamp said 18th and I don’t know why they needed the info but they were fixated on it, they even called by room at 10 pm to ask again, it got very annoying. The on-site parking is 3 spaces, the 3rd blocks the other 2, so I had to go move my car once to let others out, and you have to notify them every time you want to leave or return so they can open the gate. Not convenient at all but the property itself is pretty and good enough for a one night stay.
Wonderful stay
Beautiful cabin style rooms. Everything was perfect.
Loved it
Amazing staff in all areas Rooms excellent & very well heated Two thumbs up
Chivay is a small town with limited services. Our Casa Andina Colca Hotel included not only breakfast (which is typical), but also included dinner. That was unusual- and great!
Cute and convenient
Good service. Close to the main plaza. Rooms are a bit noisy. We could hear our neighbors talking and doors slamming. Our room was a bit drafty.
Excellent staff service Mediocre breakfast buffet
Very convenient location and all amenities there. Front desk staff not particularly helpful- had to pull teeth to find out about the observatory, which she should have explained voluntarily.
This is a good place to stay if you want to see Colca Canyon and the flight of the condors. Getting there is difficult because they are redoing the roads and cars cannot access the property easily.
Hotel had problems
We would not stay here again. It was a nice looking hotel with casitas & a nice dining room & lobby & the service was great, but we had problems with the check in ( price confusion). & the room filled with a smoky smell each night when they had a fire in the lobby fireplace. At 6 am the radio was going in the kitchen & was noisy & you could hear everyone dragging their suitcase by & talking. The main thing was we had a broken toilet which kept running & the guy came twice, said there was nothing wrong with it, so we had to stand over it & jiggly the handle if we wanted it to stop each time we used it. The breakfast buffet was not good compared to the other hotels we’ve stayed in.
Casa Andina was very enjoyable, clean and quiet. I couldn’t figure out the heater but did stay warm. Would recommend.
Nice hotel
Expensive for the area but lovely and relaxing. Feels very safe and clean. No wifi in the rooms however which is a bit weird. In the lobby/reception area it's fine. Breakfast was nice but need to get their early as there was little in the hot section left.Staff were great. Had a bad expereince at the original hotel we had booked in Chivay and ended up walking out, so it was great to receive friendly, helpful service here!
great place
Staff was very friendly, hotel was clean, food was good, the only downside there was a leak in the bathroom from the roof, but overall I would definitely recommend and stay there again.
Great staff, Being Renovated
Staff was very helpful. Some rooms were being renovated. Our room was clean but smaller than expected, yet functional. Internet (Wi-Fi) was down and not available any of the three days/two nights we were there. Location was up a dusty semi-paved road from town, wish we had booked more in the town.
Cozy hotel with nice bungalow rooms
Definitely the top choice in Chivay. Friendly and accommodating staff and affordable priced.
Great... Except for the noisy neighbors
Location was very convenient. Dining was good. Our neighbors were talking nonstop and from time to time their voices would get loud enough that we could easily hear them. I notified the front desk and was assured they would do something. They did nothing. Aside from this incident, the stay was great.
Small hotel, the rooms very cold
inappropriate heating in the rooms with heat blankets in the beds but very uncomfortable, hot water takes for ever to run and dogs barking all night nearby.
Our staying in Casa Andina Colca
It is a nice but simple hotel were its rooms are situated in little houses distribuited in a nice area with plants and trees so, the external view is very nice and appacible. For us is a 3 stars hotel but will be very important to improve the artefacts, calefaction and the arrangements of the bath room that it seems not god
Quality and service doesn't match price
The reception wasn't as helpful as one would expect from a hotel at this price level, eg when we asked for help in a restaurant booking no help was provided and in addition to this we needed to pay for the local phone cost. Also there is no wifi in the rooms and the internet is very bad in the lobby also. When the wifi didn't work we got a reply from the staff that they don't manage the connection and won't do anything. All that would have been needed to solve the problem was to reboot their wifi router. The bathroom smelled and had clearly mold.
Very nice hotel in beautiful area
We had a very good stay in this hotel. The rooms are small bungalows in a large garden, at walking distance of the main square. Facilities are good. Rooms are clean. Internet very poor, even at reception. Breakfast excellent. We had live music during our dinner, with traditional dance. Staff very friendly and helpful. Awesome zip lining site nearby.
Very charming hotel near Colca Canyon
This is a chain hotel in Peru, but it's very charming and quaint -- unlike some of their other hotels. The hotel is only a few blocks from the main plaza, so it's easy to get around. The staff is great and the fireplace in the lobby is very cozy. The rooms are nice and the beds have electric blankets! The bathroom is quite small though, and it gets very wet after a shower (the walls, mirrors, floors, etc.). You can also hear other guests through the walls. Other than those two things, we would definitely recommend this hotel.
Could improve
Nice hotel BUT very cold rooms. Stone floors. Wifi only in lobby area.
Disappointing hotel
We stayed one night in this hotel. Nice location. Very peaceful and quiet. The room was however not upto the expected standards of three stars. The bedsheets had not been changed. The room heater was unable to maintain comfortable temperature- it was either too cold or too warm. The bathroom had no exhaust resulting in excessive steaming. The breakfast was barely adequate. For the price paid, this hotel did not deliver.
Nice hotel
Nice hotel in remote location, cozy room and good staff. Restaurant was so-so and expensive, would recommend eatin in town.
probably one of the nicer places in town, but ...
Not bad, standard 3 star. Walkable to the center (but everything seems to be walkable to the center). Probably more expensive than others around. Staff was accommodating.
Beautiful.
Very nice small houses/bungalows in a beautiful garden. Not far from the center of Chivay. Good attention, nicely decorated room, heated blankets ... I didn´t care much for the restaurant service and food.
very nice and clean hotel in the center
staff are very fraindly and helful the roon are big ang clean
Best hotel in Chivay
Overall a great hotel. Casa Andina is a chain of hotels in Peru, and they offer great locations with outstanding class of service. Classic-Colca is located close to the center of town (about 4 blocks). The rooms are spacious, and they are very clean. The room also has a heater and they leave a bottle of hotel water under the comforter, a very nice surprise. The service is outstanding. I was feeling a bit sick from the altitude and the hotel sent over an oxygen tank to help me with the altitude sickness. The breakfast good and plentiful.
OK Hotel, beware of web Photoshop
As with many hotels throughout Peru (and in all fairness, some other parts of the world), I've learned the hard way to beware of what they advertise (i.e. location, rooms, hotel photos) vs. what you get.
Beautyful site
Perfect location, within walking distance to city center and market
Wonderful Hotel
Great place to be. Good service, and great people. There is no place in the whole city that would have an acceptable surrounding neighborhood, so disregard that point.
Nice hospitality
Very nice hotel nice big rooms close to the plaza center Very helpfull stuff
Pleasant stay at Casa Andina
Very comfortable, a heater in the room and a hot water bottle were provided, plus the fire in the dining room and the music and folkdancing were most enjoyable.
Nice spot
Hotel was very cute and in a quiet location, only problem was there was a group in next room to us that was pretty noisy and we could hear them very well.
OK hotel in the middle of nowhere
Little cabins that are connected by uneven and small walkways. The restaurant serves pre packaged food with very little local flavor
Unexpected marvelous service
The moment we arrived to the train station we were greeted by Jorge who walked us to the Hotel and gave us the best explanation we could have about the options and surroundings. Hot tea and a local specialty welcoming dish with their great service made us feel we made the right Hotel selection. The higher rate is well paid for with their included excellent dinner and breakfast.
A very professional hotel
This hotel has a great staff, a great restaurant, and we were pleased to receive musical entertainment in the evening.
OK for one night stay
Overall is a nice hotel and to a good standard in an area of limited choice. Stayed there whilst visiting Colca Canyon. Rooms clean and comfortable and meals OK. Only criticism is that it is a chain hotel and feels like it. Staff not very friendly compared to independent hotels we stayed in, where they really make you feel they are glad to see you. I wanted to visit the on-site observatory so asked Reception what time it started. At due time went and sat in Reception. After 15 minutes of nothing happening I asked same Reception guy when Observatory session was starting. He said it had been cancelled as equipment broken. Surely he could have seen me waiting and thought to say something as I had only spoken to him an hour ago. Would still recommend the hotel, but if you have the choice stay in one of independent hotels out of town with nicer locations and possibly friendlier reception.
My husband wants to go back!!
Excellent service and beautifu. Our beds were nice and cozy, warmed with a hot bottle of water which was a pleasant surprise. The crafters in the lobby were very nice, offering good quality products- a plus! We had a great rest!!!!
Colazione a buffet eccellente. Parcheggio interno custodito.
Ottimo albergo per visitare il Colca
Abbiamo soggiornato 2 notti trovandoci molto bene. Colazione a buffet eccellente, camera ampia con riscaldamento. Doccia calda. Parcheggio interno custodito per l'auto.
Excellent service and attention. Breakfast great. Lovely location.
Excelente y hermoso hotel!
Excelente hotel.
Superb hotel, great location. Staff very friendly, breakfast starts at 0500 which is great for the tour to Colca. La Calera hot springs are a short taxi ride away or a free shuttle is close by. Within a short walk there are some nice restaurants.
Tudo maravilhoso!

One of the best places to stay in that area. Breakfast was good.
