The hotel is in a very secluded area with no eateries or shops nearby. The room is okay but not up to the general standards, definitely not worth the price. Although they claim they serve bfast at the hotel, there was no one either at the front desk or so called bfast area between 7.30 - 9.30 am. This is not a place I would recommend to stay. Would rate this a 2 star, at most. Stay here only if you have no other option.
The property is not within the vicinity of any shops or restaurants and does not provide dining. There is no one manning reception on a regular basis so you have to wait until someone turns up! ☹️
The advertised restaurant is not open. The towels were stiff and thread bare. The wifi was very hit and miss, not working most of the time. Breakfast was $15USD but when I went to pay I was asked for more for the service charge even though the bill said only $15. The bed was comfortable and ac worked well.
The property is okay but the owner, Nick, is a fabulous person. Very very helpful. I had a very early morning flight to catch and the tsxi didn't turn up. I called his number which he gave me at check in at wee hours of the morning. He not only called a taxi for me but waited for it until it arrived. More power to him.
Cancelled accommodation!
Arrived to be told my room was cancelled said they had emailed me that morning. I had received no email and they could not show any proof of sending one. In fact Hotels.com had sent me an email to ask how my check in was ! … so they had not cancelled my room if fact according to Hotels.com they still had rooms available that night. The manager offered me alternative accommodation which I reluctantly accepted that was further outside town. Luckily I had a hire car without one would have caused serious issues
I was very happy with my stay Would stay again
Manager focussed his energy on maximizing charges rather than Client satisfaction. Poor location.
I love the view and need more service at the bar and more options of drinks
Property is well maintained, lovely view of St Johns from deck.
Overall it was a awesome stay loved it. If you go to Antigua you will definitely love it there the view is awesome and the beds are so comfortable and the hot yeah it’s hot lol loved it.
The owner was very accommodating. He combined a suite for us to save money, stored our luggage for the day as we switched from a resort and helped us with taxi issues.
we arrived at Caribbean Inn to be told that there was a plumbing problem and they had found another hotel for us . we were taken to the most awful hotel in st Johns ...there was no way we would have felt safe there , it was run down and scary. we had to find somewhere else to stay which was not easy as due to the cricket everywhere was full. wonderful staff at the Heritage Hotel in St Johns helped us and called us a taxi to a very nice place a few miles away. Although we did not stay at the Caribbean Inn , I cannot forgive them for sending us to such an awful dive!
The business agreement made with Expedia.ca must be respected, the Quote was in Canadian Currency, the proprietor changed it to U S, that then created a discrepancy in the cost to me. He is friendly but business arrangements must be respected. I await your response.
Check in was bad. Our rooms were not as booked. Place was clean, people were nice but we had to share two couples and one small washroom.
I booked months in advance. On the night before my trip I got an email saying they had no room for me due to “maintenance” and to go there upon arrival, at which point they would let me know where they had rebooked me. That place ended up being a place next the airport runway that was considerable worse than what I had booked. I think they overbooked and I was the victim. Not the only one, because I met two people who had gotten the same runaround. I’ll never book a room there again. Anyone who does should get written proof within a day or two of their stay that there is actually a room available.
Excellent, accommodating staff. Great breakfast too! We were very happy with our stay.
Excellent service
They made sure you were always comfortable and catered to all your needs. Thanks Mr Nicholos and team, from karen and otania
Basic and rather remote
Hotel too remote and not near any shops/restaurants. Not all in room facilities worked. Also double charged initially.
I have used the establishment’s facilities before and the staff and environment were very welcoming
Checking in and checking out went smoothly. Staff very accommodating.
Satisfied
I was very pleased with my short stay and would gladly stay again when I return.
NICE EXPERIENCE
A friendly atmosphere in a comfortable area. The staff were quite pleasant.
Great location with a wonderful view of the island
Good location, walking distance to town
Room definitely needs some updates. Staff were very accommodating.
Honeymoon saved
My husband and I stayed a week at Sandals for our honeymoon and when we were scheduled to depart, a blizzard hit NyC and our flight was cancelled at 7:30pm. Sandals made no effort to help us so we found the Caribbean inn and suites. Originally we checked in for one night thinking we could get a next day flight. Upon arrival, We told Nicholas our situation and he gave us a suite at a discounted rate with a complimentary bottle of water. The next day we realized we would be stuck until Wednesday. We paid until Tuesday because that was all the money we had left and he kept us in the same room at the same rate. He could have been making more money on the room had he moved us. Nicholas set us up to be taken to the most at home like supermarket here so we could grab some necessities. Tuesday when we were going to check out and spend the night in the airport, Nicholas said no and gave us a complimentary night! Being from Ny where this would never happen, I was moved to tears. All this was done with ease and no prompting he’s just a good person. I definitely recommend to anyone who needs a place to stay in Antigua!
Disappointed.
I booked a room only to be told when I arrived that the proprietor had double-booked the room on the basis that I should have paid prior to the arriving. No apology was forthcoming. After some heated discussion, a room was found but after travelling some distance, and getting an expensive taxi from the airport, this issue was most unwelcome. Disappointing.
Nice hotel quiet neighborhood
Upon arrival i was greeted by the owner Ivan who was very welcoming and professional. Check in was very simple and quick. A tour was then given of the property. My room was rite next to the road but traffic noise outside was not a problem. I would definitely recommend to anyone whether just to overnight or stay for a longer time.
Just a layover nothing exciting about it
GOOD the stay was a layover so I wasn't looking much
Great hideaway hotel
It was a great place to stay, convenient to st,John,s town, overall had a great time ,will recommend to my friends, one thing, bedroom needs a tv
It was a short stay with great service and comfort
Will you avoid the noise?
my third stay now at this property, and the owner was kind enough to upgrade me to a suite for the second time. However there were some serious noise issues. The room beneath mine had an air con unit that made an almost intolerable noise on and off throughout the night. When mixing hot and cold water in the showers of some rooms (including mine) an awful wailing noise could be heard throughout the building. Although the owner knew about these issues he didn't seem in a hurry to get them sorted. So clean, spacious and budget friendly yes, but will you sleep well?
Value Suites near St. John's
Room includes kitchen & living room. AC in bedrooms but WiFi did not work in bedroom. Nice kitchen table for my computer where WiFi worked but no AC. There is a shortage of electrical outlets so bring your extension cords.
The bathroom had mold and mildew between the tiles. The floor was not scrub, the mat in the tub was old and dirty. The vent was so dirty nothing was coming out but dust. The bedroom was linen was no charge and we was there for a week. The bed was made and same linen was use. The towels was dingy and different colors. The soap in the bathroom was so old the minute it touches the water it broke to pieces. The floor was never sweep, and we had kids. The walls are filthy and rooms are musty
A Hidden Gem
Layover, excellent I will return
Antigua stay
lovely pleasant stay. Owner helpful.
It was quiet n relaxing
Not Far from Cruise Port
I needed to be close to the cruise port to board a ship, so I picked this hotel. It turned out to be a 10 minute taxi ride from the hotel to the port, and the hotel manager pre-arranged the cab for me after check-in. My room was on the 2nd floor, and was one of the nicer units. As I entered there was a kitchen area, dinette set,and living room. Off that was a bath room with shower and a bedroom with a ceiling air cooler. The bed was comfy and lighting was adequate for reading my kindle. I also had an outdoor terrace with a good view of the harbor. The taxi driver knocked on my door in the morning, and I was off to board my cruise ship.
Good value for the money.
Proprietor was nice. They are always cleaning. Needs updating in the rooms and some basic maintenance. He took note of what I told him about and will fix. Don't expect a restaurant. There is a fixed breakfast menu, and they don't have everything on it. This is somewhat remote. Bring your own drinks and snacks. Good views from the top floor, but no comfortable place to sit. Walked into town every day, 1.5 miles to the pier. Feels safe, church across the street, schools and a hospital in view. Lots of stray dogs in the area, harmless.
Great service and friendly atmosphere!
Caribbean Inn and Suites is a small, nice and tidy hotel just a 10 minute walk from the capital St Johns. The hotel manager, Nicholas, gives great service and can set you up with a friendly and knowledgeable taxi driver that will take you wherever you want during your stay.
Good overnight or for a few days.
Central location. Great front desk service. Very helpful manager. Great air conditioner in bedroom. Good dinner advice.
Do not stay here
We stayed but the bathroom was in horrible condition. The maids walked in whenever they wanted and the room locks never worked. Here is no safe on the premises. Very unsafe neighbourhood.
Caribbean Inn one night stopover
The bed was not comfortable. We were not given a good welcome by the staff initially, although the senior staff member who attended to us subsequently was much more friendly and professional.
Nice place to stay
The hotel is central to most locations. 8 minute ride into town. Rental vehicle necessary to access most places like zip line, places of interest. Manager friendly and helpful. Ac only in bedroom. Hot and cold water available. Long list if TV channels available. Highest temp on oven 270. Supermarket 5 minutes drive away
A warm welcome to Antigua
Situated in a lovely area with stunning views. Bed was really comfy but the fan in the living room was broken. Views lovely from the balcony as well as the roof terrace. The staff were very welcoming and accommodated our various needs which was highly appreciated. Breakfast reasonably priced. Initial issues were ironed out
Nice staff
Hotel was convenient for watching the cricket which was why I chose it. It is on the outskirts of St Johns in a quiet and safe area and some distance from the popular beaches and tourist areas. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a variety of different sized rooms and suites with basic facilities that are clean and safe. This is not a luxury hotel, but neither is it a basic hostel. It certainly suited my purposes and the staff were eager to please in all ways including finding transport.
The owner goes the extra mile
I arrived late due to a delayed flight. The owner upgraded my room to a suite with a spectacular view of the hills and St. John's, the capital. The owner also made sure I always had taxi service. Breakfast is served at a reasonable cost. Next time I would probably rent a car, as the cabs are expensive, and parking is free at this Inn.
Family sightseeing in St John's Antigua
The suite was perfect for our family: one room with king bed for parents, one room with 2 beds for teenage boys. Welcoming host. Clean, air conditioned rooms, kitchen, and TV sitting area. No frills but exactly what we needed. Quiet residential neighborhood, walking distance (15-20 mins) to downtown St John's, so it was perfect for city sightseeing. Short taxi ride to the airport (ANU).
Good place, just outside town.
The owner is extremely nice and helpful. The place is right on top of the hill, so stunning views all around, with a good view of the harbour. It's not really walking distance to town, although we did walk a couple of times. Taxis are plentiful (only EC$15), and the place is on a major bus route, though not much in the immediate vicinity, which is safe to walk around. The suite is basic, but very clean. Small TV, and limited cooking utensils, although it had an oven, fridge, toaster, and a few pots and pans. All in all, it suited us perfectly, and is fair for the price.
