Disappointing. First off, staff were nice, no faults except they omit to inform you of everything the complex offers. There is a cafe on level 2 that serves hot food that I only discovered on my second day. This info was not told to me. The place can be noisy, especially late at night if you have a pod on level 4 next to outside spa! I tried to upgrade to a private room for my second night because of this noise but with the language barrier it was just too difficult. I was more than happy to pay more. Lastly, checking out on a Monday morning, they close all the bathing areas between 8-12 for cleaning (found this out upon checkout) 10am is checkout for everyone, why not make the cleaning after 10??? I couldn’t find any staff beforehand to ask where the showers were? The place really does need a deep clean literally everywhere though. I don’t think I’ll ever return here.
Good for one night
The room space is to small and the tv inside make it more congested and small but have no interruption and its quite
Great if you need a quick place to sleep in the area
Convenient location. To get what you pay. Friendly staffs.
No large towel ,
Most of the facility is stated but it’s very clean. The retro future feeling is hundred percent the capsule itself is spacious and comfortable. The bath and the sauna is also very nice. It’s great option if you are man and travel by yourself good deal for $25 per night.
very convenient if you are planning to spend a short time in Osaka. Plenty of amenities to use and location is located in a very busy strip with plenty of stores and dining options.
My first time in a capsule hotel, but it was a great experience. Clean and quiet capsule, the communal areas a bit dated but do the job. The spa is great with extensive pools, saunas and steam room. The location was great right in a busy area of Osaka with lots going on. Highly recommend trying out this capsule hotel - it’s an experience!
Mens Capsule hotel with BEST Onsen
My favorite Onsen! Its just a few dollars more to get the capsule hotel on hotels.com and you get complete onsen use plus in and out privilege's. There are actually 4 levels so visit them all, including the outside spas on the roof. They also have very good massages. The locals say its best in Osaka. Men only.
Positives: --Cheap --walkable to lots of shopping and transit Negatives: --Very retro, for better or for worse. --The ground floor is a public sauna and you have to walk through the changing area to get to the elevator--this might make some people uncomfortable. --They don't dim the lights in the capsule area and the curtain wasn't the best, so definitely bring a sleep mask. --The pillow was interesting. It was filled with beads and was rather uncomfortable. --The lockers provided weren't very big. If you have a suitcase or large backpack it likely won't fit, but if you can store any larger luggage at the front desk.
The hotel has 4 levels all slightly confusing to navigate at first but has plenty of amenities. Capsules are clean and comfortable.
It’s a capsule hotel, you can not expect much except a real experience that will stand out.
Great location to the train station and food and entertainment areas. Property is well maintained, however the common areas could use some updating. Only stayed for a couple nights, would recommend for short stay. Lockers are small but no problem if travelling light.
Cozy Cheap Capsule Hotel near Osaka Station
Cozy capsule hotel located near Osaka (Umeda) Station. The rooms are private and comfortable but it is a bit old. There’s a large hot spring down stairs, which is very nice but is a bit confusing to check-in. Capsule hotel is the 4th floor while the hot spring is 1st. Good thing the hot spring is included. The area it’s located is a bit shady (my least favorite part). But it’s not too bad. I recommend this place for people on a budget.
Great spa and location
Can be a bit confusing what to do at first but once you work it out all is fine. The spa is great and open 24/7. The vending machines are good and offer variety. I didn’t sleep well due to snoring and people walking about. I am a light sleeper so bear this in mind if you are also.
First of all some women attacked me for wearing the slippers over the line before I’d even checked in and shouted in my face in Japanese. Luckily the front desk staff (all 350 of them) were more laid back and mentioned that you don’t wear the slippers inside. After my interrogation about what tattoos I have, i checked in and found a capsule - not my bed but a time capsule into the 1980s. This hotel has genuinely not been refurbished since then, the carpet is all torn and the capsules feel like you’re on the mission to Mars ride. I counted my blessings that I was only here one night. I’m not a fussy traveller, and have stayed in many dumps, but this is the worst capsule hotel I’ve seen. Front desk staff were always polite, helpful and spoke English. What I can only assume were faulty Alarms were going off all night from cabins that Weren’t even occupied! The pillow is essentially a Bean bag, and the same size as one. The capsule is full of temporary fixes and patches. The spa is strictly no tattoos which is very conveniently told after you’ve checked in. There’s no other showers so you have to use this one. It’s not like some spas were I can hide in the corner have a quick shower then leave, you’re on display to everyone, and so my tattoos would have been to. I guess this is a Japanese thing but it bugs me when I can’t have a shower.
A bit older than the photos would suggest. Very large facility.
Osaka visit
Everything was great except there were no English instructions on how to enter the pool or the onsen (hot spring).
In Central Osaka, Surprisingly Nice
After a long day of walking around the city I could look forward to the 24/hr multi-level bath house. From hot/cold public baths, saunas to public showers complete with amenities it was very relaxing. The capsule is a decent size and you can watch tv in there. For those who are the sound sensitive minded, I always recommend to bring earplugs just in case the dude next door is snoring. Hotel staff are nice and they speak english. Otherwise the place is what is its. Price is super cheap for what you get and it's central location to Osaka Station. **Note for those travelling by Shinkansen (bullet train) you will arrive at "Shin-Osaka" station. Therefore you will need to take another JR train, specifically the 'JR Thunderbird' or 'JR Kounortori' trains to "Osaka" station.
The name of the place on hotels. Com is different from the name on the actual sign at the venue. The free WiFi in the loby kicks you off every two min.
OK for its location, good budget choice.
1. The hotel has its age, cleanliness was fair. 2. Tiny locker, suitcase must be left with the reception. 3. Only good for short period of stay. 4. You have to pay extra for a timed shower ! (if you have opt out from sauna option)
overall are ok except wifi very unstable
Wifi very unstable
Not comfortable at all
It is located in Umeda but not near the train station and it is properly difficult to find it because it is in the area that ther are many shops around so it may not be recognized easily. The standard capsule is so tiny eventhough I am a small person. My capsule is above to another capsule, I must climb to reach mine. This is so uncomfortable. Their spa sevice is OK.
A unique experience, not for everyone!
With the little space I have here to talk about this, this is definitely an experience and something to cross off the "I've done that" list but nothing more, its not ideal for a proper night's rest. If you're taller than 6'2" then you might struggle with the length of the "cubicle". Even though I was in the non-smoking section, the smell of cigarettes is everywhere so if this bothers you, be aware. The whole thing is a bit rough-and-ready but its more for the experience than a proper relaxation. The front staff spoke good English despite other reviews, but maybe not all of them do. This really isn't for everyone, especially if you're not very outgoing and like your privacy. Its a unique experience though!
middle of everything
everything about capsule inn osaka was great except for the fact that the wifi connection was a bit spotty throughout the hotel
A good experience
A capsule is like a big guesthouse. Advantages are that you get your own little space with a TV, power plug, air con. The concept of this hotel and the public bath is great but you need to know a little before getting there or speak Japanese as the staff is not good in English or keen to spend time explaining. But once you get it, it's a great place to stay for friends. The area is particular, mostly night clubs for salary man and little English is spoken. My only grievance would be the wifi, really weak and often not working, and the really hard pillow but I didn't get a chance to ask them for different pillow they might have had. In fine, a good hotel to explore Osaka and taste a bit of Japanese culture with extremely good value for money.
Stay in a Capsule in Osaka
Overall, the capsule experience was good for all travellers to experience how quirky accommodation in Japan can be. One night is more than enough to experience sleeping in a capsule. The rate per night is quite affordable as compared to other business hotels in Osaka. That being said, privacy is not assured as basically it would be a shared facilities for all. For travellers with big luggage, the Inn will be glad to store your luggage for you. This is because the locker is only big enough for your daypack.
Inexpensive capsule hotel with super spa
Capsule hotels on Japan are cheap and comfortable. The Capsule Inn Osaka is one of the better ones. Especially the three floors of baths, saunas, steamroom and swimming pool are bigger and better than other Capsule Hotels. Staff has sufficient English. Highly recommended!
Don’t
I had to leave after one day despite having booked a week. You have to check out every day at 10 and then check back in in the afternoon. You can’t use the spa if you have a tattoo, instead you can use shower cabins but you need to pay extra for that…
Capsule hotel experience in Osaka
The Capsule Hotel is a cheap option to stay in Osaka and a great experience. The capsules are not for the claustrofobic, but otherwise comfortable. Good, fast and free internet available in capsules and common areas. The swimming pool, saunas, steam room and warm and cold baths are wonderful and spread over three floor. They are free to use (included in the room rate of 25 Euro per night). There are laundry facilities, a restaurant with good and inexpensive food (both Japanese and western style). The location is on a busy shopping arcade with great restaurants and shops. The place can be difficult to find - even with a map I had a problem. Also, be prepared to check out every day between 10 and 12 even if you have booked a multiple day stay.
Great experience if small on luggage
Great experience but inconvenient if you have big luggage since you have no room and just a locker. It includes acces to the Japanese spa which was a great experience.
Capsule inn Osaka - Caters to Men | Home in Osaka | Travala.com
Public bath was good, but the capsules itself were really hot and stuffy. The ac inside the capsule did not help.
