Excellent. Will stay here again

Loved it here. They offer valet which take away the stress from find parking or worrying about its safety. Staff is friendly. Room was clean look very nice. Separate shower from the bathroom. Rooftop restaurant was delicious but prepare to spend. Definitely would stay here again

It’s a was good stay if your renting a car be ready to pay for there valet service if you don’t catch parking on the street but overall the stay was great

This place has good views and nice clean rooms but I’m so disappointed that the tvs are super outdated. There was a few cable channels on them and that’s it. Big letdown for me because I wanted to watch Netflix or YouTube. Even the cheapest motels have smart tvs now. For the price of the place I’d expect they’d have smart TVs as a standard.

Perfect stay for a quick, last-minute trip to SF! Property is very well-maintained and the rooftop is beautiful. I only had time for a quick drink and dessert there but these were both very good. Rooms are on the small side yes but well-designed and comfortable. Rain shower is awesome. Staff are all super friendly and valet was super helpful. I wish breakfast ran a bit later but next time I guess I’ll just have to make myself get up earlier from the super comfy bed. Area was quiet at night and seems safe, and I had no hesitation walking around even late at night. I would definitely stay here again the next time I’m in the area!

The "hood" is a bit dull, but safe, gentle, and walkable to the center of SF tourist features. Its access to every public transport around SF and the Bay Area is undeniable.

Staff were fantastic -super attentive and welcoming. Felt like walking into a hotel 25 years ago.

My room was lovely and incredibly comfortable, despite the small size. One thing I would change, however, is the breakfast menu - I would add an option of pancakes or waffles for breakfast. Otherwise, the hotel was absolutely wonderful, with courteous and efficient staff.

The room was clean and cute, right next to yerba buena gardens, walking distance to union square and cable cart rides. Double queen beds was a plus, shower was big and wonderful, soap products was an organic lemon, very pleased. Quick service, valet was $75, but worth every penny not to worry about the car. Overall the price to quality was on par, and we had no real complaints.

Front desk was super friendly, room was clean and modern and it’s right across from the rail so it was a quick trip to the chase centre! Would book again

Hotel staff service/demeanor has declined

We we're greeted warmly by the valet upon arrival but the service declined as soon as i walked in the door. No greeting nor courtesy from the front desk. There was some confusion about the room. I booked a Land Mark view and I was given a room with no view. I took my concern to the desk. They gave me the room that I booked after a while, after being treated coldly. Food and service at Shelbly is wonderful as always.

Area and room was nice, although dont like the hidden fees. We got valet and i would expect taxes to be included when you first pay, but i was charged the taxes at the end of my stay. Also expedia and the hotel need to be on better communicating terms, as i contacted the property to ask if we can use photo id to check in and were told yes, but when we went to check in the desk staff told us no, thankfully we were able ti change the name to be able to check in. Fairly clean, showers could use better scrubbing as well as the windows, but decent stay.

Stayed in San Francisco for the first time and it definitely made it worth it being here

Unrivaled incompetence

Summary: Hotel front desk charged me $836 extra (the price of another guest's stay) and has refused to refund me despite me spending nearly 10 hours on this issue. I’d recommend to stay at this hotel if you like being incorrectly charged large amounts of money or if you like to deal with incompetent people. If you keep scrolling to other reviews, you will find many others have had similar experiences.

The staff here is excellent. The hotel is lovely and so close to SFMOMA.

I like the hotel for it's convenience of being able to walk to Union Square for shopping and dining. What I didn't like was the hidden fees. I guess the fee is lower until the end of your stay. Not a welcome surprise. I will be using Air B&B alittle bit more. Sorry, the fees soured my experience!!

The rooms here are tiny tiny tiny. The rooftop is very small and unless you get a room at the front of the hotel, you will be looking right into the apartments next door up to the 11 floor. I recommend you request a room facing the front of the Hotel. This place feels like an old hotel with lipstick on it with cheap paint. Sorry, but for the price, this Hotel should be much better. Pictures must have been taken with a fisheye lens and by a very good photographer. The Hotel is next to an alley.

Tiny, tiny, tiny room

Very ultra modern but extremely tiny room. Amazing how they can fit so much in a small space. Example: bed end table doubles as chair. No where to sit in room. If you are claustrophobic this is not your place. Very nice roof top restaurant ! Area not near restaurants so be ready to Uber.

Somewhat difficult to park. The valet spot is next to the bus lane and it gets full quickly, you have to circle around a few times without blocking the buses. The corner street is also a one way so you can't leave your car double parked either

Only issue I had was after booking and paying the for the room, I ended up paying another $120 for all the “extras” (parking, resort, food/beverage fees). This was disappointing.

Quite a surprise,this hotel is a mix of old and new with a slight throwback to days gone by. Located downtown directly across the street from the Moscone convention center.

Very nice room, within walking ditance to oracle park, nice rooftop restaurant. We loved our stay Just wished we would of known $ for parking / resort fee and additional taxes on those items.

It’s a good hotel in San Francisco. I liked my room. The shower is large and separated from the toilet room. A/C worked nicely. Auto down curtain closed off outside light very well. At 6th floor it is quiet and easy to sleep in till after my normal hour. The area is loaded with unhoused people and drug addicts. They keep away from this hotel. I saw them around other areas but this hotel was a curiously clear spot. Nice! Security at the hotel prevents anyone that is not a paying renter from getting to any floor except the canopy bar. I had no problems nor heard of any on my stay. The outer walkway is power washed each morning by 7 am. No sign of homeless people by sunrise. It is kind of a jewel in the area. I will stay again. I strongly recommend this hotel to any visitor. You get what you pay for and this was quite nice.

Stayed here on a Saturday and Sunday night. Walked to giants stadium from here (day game). Easy 15 minute walk. Public transportation is right next door. Toughest hit was the 75$ valet but was 25 less than anywhere else I was Checking out. They charge a 30$ residence fee (per day) but I charged My drinks from t he lobby to my room and they took it Use this as a credit. Forgot to use this 30$ the day I checked Out though 😑. Overall I’d recommend.

My stay at the Canopy by Hilton San Francisco SoMa was exceptional. Check-in was a breeze, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The valet service is a huge plus, especially in this area. I also appreciated that the hotel is both single and family pet-friendly. The hotel boasts a modern and unique design, with standout features like a popular breakfast lounge, a chic bar area, and a breathtaking rooftop bar and lounge. The view from the rooftop alone is worth the visit. This hotel truly has it all—if you're looking for a place that offers everything you need along with a stunning view, I highly recommend staying here.

Everything was great but if you do not like pillows that are big, puffy and soft, bring your own pillow.

Tha Canopy property is located next to the Moscone Convention Center on busy 4th street, yet it it very quiet. It’s boutique appeal is evident when you check in, and our room was quiet and well appointed. I really enjoyed the rooftop open air dining. The food was what you would expect from a four star restaurant, and the waitstaff were professional providing a pleasant experience overall.

This is a great hotel. The rooms are super cute! While small space-wise, they have lots of nice touches that make the rooms very usable. There is a lot of closet space with a built-in rack for your suitcase, a slide out rack for your shoes, a nice vanity/make-up/jewelry area with a stool, plus two robes. They even have a Yoga mat in the room, which I took advantage of. There is a little bar area with a retro-style mini-fridge, coffee maker, tea bags, mugs, and glasses. Plus a table with a little bench for eating. The bed was super comfy. My room faced 4th St., so there was some street noise here and there, but I had no trouble sleeping.

This hotel was amazing! Our grandsons 10 and 7 were really wowed! Walking in the area was safe—we walked to the ball field as well as to transportation. Clean, cute, comfy with great staff. Breakfast each morning was delicious. It was expensive yet convenient. Expect your trip to San Francisco to be expensive. It isn’t just The Canopy. We would return in a heartbeat.
