Great modern dorm to stay at. Very clean. Room was generously spacious. Amenities easily accessible within the hotel. You're within walking distance to a Provigo (Loblaws) if you want your own food, and close to the metro and bixi bikeshare stations for transportation. Walking distance to the main areas of the city where events are happening as it's a challenge to find parking if you had a car. Highly recommended. Would more than likely stay here again compared to the other dorms in Montreal I stayed at.
Good location, comfortable and clean room, wifi access! The breakfast was not very good, we only had it one time and decided to have breakfast out for the rest of our stay. But overall it was all great.
Clean and convenient university dorms. Towels were poor quality and shed on your skin so I would suggest bringing your own towels. Mattress was basically plastic and bedding/pillows felt cheap. If you need a hair dryer or any equipment, they keep your ID until everything is returned. Gym, basketball court and other amenities were very clean. Breakfast was good. Parking was convenient and right beside the building. Overall, not a bad stay for the price!
Wonderful little stay
Solid hotel, nice free Ikea like breakfast, lots of amenities including laundry and a nice gym. The rooms could be a bit cleaner, and the beds are the standard form mattresses, so definitely don't expect a comfy hotel like bed.
The Breakfast was amazing!

Great spot to stay!
The staff at this place are horrendous and rude.
Hello. I enjoyed staying at the student dorm of McGill university. It looks brand new, lots of students and their parents had come for their initiation week and everyone was happy and excited, a happy friendly vibe:) The breakfast every morning was excellent, full buffet, and the staff friendly:) The only thing I missed having was a kettle in my room to make tea. And just a little step stool to get into bed would’ve been helpful, since the beds are elevated, and a bedside light.
All good
More like an Army barrack than hotel
Perfect Location and Cleanness
It was fun being around the students returning to university for the year. The room was very basic and could have used simple things like a floor lamp and hangers as well as information about getting the room cleaned during the stay. There was an information booth on the main floor that probably would have helped with this. Fairly pricey for such a basic room.
Clean, close to McGill
Enjoyed our stay!
Having a great time
It is a funny dorm - full of “kids” (late teens/twentysomethings) and the rooms are odd - toilet and shower in one room, sink in other; each twin bed has its own door, but only one outlet and a teeny desk. The “common space” has a tiny awkward sofa. The amenities were very minimal - sheets were scratchy, mattress was rubberized, no cup for water in the bathroom, etc. Only one pillow, no extra blanket - very bare bones. Almost more like a youth hostel. Very clean, great location, and the staff were nice. For $75/night, it would be fine; for $175/night it was not…
Pretty but quite pricey for what you’re getting
the rooms were clean, comfortable, they were simple but honestly everything we needed for a short stay in Montreal
*Review written by college students visiting from Boston* Overall a decent stay but not a place to stay if you’re looking for a hotel with basic hotel amenities (hair dryer, ice, fridge, microwave, etc). This is a McGill University residence hall more geared to younger folks who don’t mind staying in a spacious dorm room. Rooms were clean, furnished with dorm furniture (drawers, wardrobe, desk), and came with shampoo/conditioner and sheets. All You Can Eat continental breakfast included for each person staying which was pretty decent (bacon, eggs, home fries, cereal, toast, coffee, etc.) Easy check in, staff speak English/French which is helpful, and are easily accessible to ask questions.
Elevators were non functional at crucial hours of the day when a lot of guests were leaving for conferences and work.
Breakfast included was great
This is not a hotel!! It’s a campus dorm. Great for a young adult traveling but if you’re used to turndown service, snack bars, luggage holding or even early check in — this place is not for you. Our first night the power went out (which was not their fault) but when I went down to the lobby to find out what happened, I got STUCK in the stairwell. They have POWER operated doors, and there was a power outage. I was stuck in that stairwell for 20 minutes before someone on my floor heard me screaming and came to open the door. The property itself was fine, staff was nice, but again— this is more of a college campus dorm. Doors are thin, you can heard everyone passing by, the rooms are small. Also no TVs, no hangers, and our shower curtain was broken.
It was very convenient but I did notice the rooms were a little dirty (saw a few contacts on the floor) but other than that it was very easy and chill
the staff was very nice and property was very clean
air-conditioning insufficient for hot summer. the room is clean but has lack of facilities (e.g. hair dryer, kettle)
Good, cheap option. Not the cleanest though.
Good
Ok
Height of cot too much for normal people. Breakfast is of same type every day, needs to be varied to certain levels.
Good breakfast and location. Limited amenities -no hangers or bathroom cups.
Had a great stay! It was much better than we expected. Staff was quick and helpful, free breakfast was yummy, and it was nice and air conditioned!! (sometimes a little too cold) My only issue was that there was no mini fridge or ice bucket but other than that LOVED! Thinking of coming back here next time I stay!
This is my favourite place to stay in montreal. Nice location and very nice building.
Convenient and walkable. Bare minimum in rooms
loved it
the air conditioning was barely working, and it was placed in a weird area. Other than that, it was great !!
Well located. Well priced. Good breakfast included
Spare but clean and quiet room. Slept well.
Extremely good value for price!
Amazing scenery, rooms, service, breakfast, and all around stay! All while being extremely affordable!
My 20-year-old son and I visited Montreal and stayed 2 nights at Campus1 MTL Student Residence, in the McGill University area. Loved having an affordable & secure parking garage next door. Excellent area for transportation, walking, and late night eateries and grocery store just 2 blocks away! Free cafeteria breakfast included in our guest stay, and we enjoyed the onsite gym and game room. Rooms were very basic, but that's all we were looking for, since we spent our two days exploring the Old Port, Vieux Montreal, the Latin Quarter, and Mont Royale.
Convenient location, spacious room, and some nice amenities (included breakfast, rooms for studying & gaming, a mini convenience store) but missing some basics (hangers, facial tissues, full sized ironing board & iron) and the cleanliness was lacking (the floors seriously needed vacuuming).
Excellent experience
Overall nice service!
super friendly staff! towels were on the dirtier side - slightly falling apart, but reviews told us this in advance so we just purchased towels at a separate store. otherwise great place for people coming for the weekend just looking to see the city
Good experience
Cleanliness was lacking - there was some food on the floor under a table from a previous occupant and the spaces under the beds had obviously not been cleaned in some time. Staff was friendly except the security guard who chastised us for not having a key before we had even checked in.
The seventies again!
Dorm experience, clean, tight security. Many rules. Great staff, location is great. Ditched car for stay. Parking is extra. Seperate rooms for sleeping.
Excellent option
We had a wonderful stay. The place was very clean and We also had a good breakfast during the stay.
Great place to stay around downtown Montreal. I loved the cold rooms, but you might need an extra blanket if you prefer a warmer environment.
We felt very safe because there are a lot of safety measures in play. The staff was amazing especially the two security ladies at the front desk (they were very knowledgeable on how to get around the city and places to go). The rooms were very spacious and clean. Cons- there is no refrigerator, TV or microwave. We could not sleep on the sheets because they were very itchy.
Working staff at place poor service
The room had very nice amenities and the downstairs common areas were very fun! Staff are friendly and do as much as they can to fulfill your requests. Breakfast offerings are yummy! Also a convenient short walk to a subway station and Jean Coutu. Highly recommend!
Spacious and clean rooms, comfortable beds, good breakfast. Facility is near many amenities and is very secure.
Only for students housing. Not a hotel at all. Student housing No parking
Inexpensive. Fun to be around students. Like when I was a student in the dorm. Few amenities but happy to not be paying for them.
Really good one
I had a great stay at this hostel with my family (including a 4 year old kid) in Montreal for 4 nights during the summer! It's an excellent choice for a family visit, with great value for money. They provide a free breakfast from 7:30-10:30 AM, and most of the downtown attractions are within walking distance. It's only an 18-minute walk to the starting point of Mount Royal. The first floor offers 24/7 hot water and a 24/7 friendly front desk. There's also a gym and yoga room available for use. You can borrow a free hairdryer from the front desk by leaving your ID until you return it. Additionally, there's a parking garage right beside the hostel where I parked my car for $20 per night, which was very convenient. Overall, it was a very nice stay, and I would love to come back again.
Convenient and fun. Easy walk to bus and metro and area fun spots (art museum, drum circle, thrifting, people watching, shopping). Grocery store with prepared foods and wine one block away. Loved the kitchen on the top floor with a great view of the mountain. Next door is reasonable parking but tight and limited for larger vehicles. It's a dorm so if you are looking for luxurious furnishings, mattresses and linens, you won't find it here. But it's clean and accommodating. I would have LOVED this place when I was in university. If you are looking for young and fun this is definitely the place to be. A decent breakfast with great coffee is served until 10:30, 11:30 on weekends. Pretty convenient because the neighborhood is still lively and fun at midnight and feels relatively safe given the amount of people out on the streets. Be WARNED though the blinds are light filtering only and see through at night. Especially if you are staying on the east side of the building, the sun will wake you up. No sleeping in here without a sleep mask. If you need a dark room to sleep, you'll need it at night also. The city lights, light up the room. Next time, a sleep mask and an extra pillow. Maybe an extension cord also. There is only one outlet behind the desk.
Perfect for a grandma and teenaged grandson.
Garage parking which is separate from the hotel but underneath it, of the 4 machines to pay that I tried only one worked.
Very student oriented and a good price for a short stay in Montreal
Had an amazing stay! Will definitely come back.
A decent facility, but that is showing its age. Stay here during the summer when the dorms are less populated. There is next to nothing in the room other than a bed chair, a desk of bureau and your garbage can. If you want such as hangers or a hairdryer you have to go to the front desk. The cafeteria breakfast that is included is decent quality. Overall, staff were friendly and they clean your room every three nights my thermostat was malfunctioning, which left the room quite cool and it could not be remedied. The Wi-Fi worked well no doubt as a result of less populated. The gym facility looked promising however they’ve removed all wipes, towels, or cleaning sprays so you get to enjoy the sweat or garbage from anyone that left the machine before you. The location was good, particularly if you enjoy walking which I did and when I had to take the metro, it was very convenient. Unfortunate incident was the fire alarm that went off at 6 AM and woke us all out of a dead sleep to hang out on the curb but better safe than sorry I guess. My stay was acceptable and I qualify this is a $100-$130 per night stay.
Super clean, comfy bed, huge breakfast buffet.
It was an OK experience. Breakfast was good. The place was quiet. But it was not like a hotel. The beds were high and
Bon rapport qualité-prix
Bien situé +++ Hébergement simple et moderne Petits-déjeuners inclus : Super!
This dorm room they treat like a hotel in the summer. We had our own room with a full bed and private bath. It was Very spacious but no tv but we had laptops and tablets to watch stuff if needed. We also got hot breakfast everyday from their cafeteria. They had 24 hour security and had to use your key to get around the facility. I have been going to Montreal for over 15 years this is a first staying here. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Amazing location.
It is good for the price. The bed is really high because during the school year it is a dorm and students store things under the bed. Breakfast is good and appreciated
Basic, central
Basic but central. Close to Metro. No extras like hairdryer in room. One complaint, no place to store luggage so they send you to another hotel five minutes down the road and charge you per bag. Unexpected cost/annoyance
Management were nasty. Other staff were nice.
Great location at a great price
Amazing location. Great rates. Uber clean. Friendly staff. Lively atmosphere on the main floor given the young crowd. Very quiet in the upper floors. Great cafeteria. So much to do and see in Montreal, especially during the festivals season, you will not care about the fact there are no TVs in the room. Definitely stay there again !!
Great Accom close to everything.
Poor for student accomdations by European standards. Simply dorm rooms, no kitchenette, tea or coffee making , no community area. Better stay in a hostel
Genuinely the single worst experience I have ever had with any business of any kind in my entire life - I tour for a living and have stayed at literal hundreds of hotels, and this was the single worst interaction I have ever had with a person or business. It is the first and with any luck ONLY time I have ever checked out within an hour of checking in due to the condition of the space, amenities, and treatment by the staff. We would rather drive through the night to return to Toronto, arriving home no earlier than 6am, than deal with the pure ineptitude this business displayed. Utterly disgusting in every way imaginable.
Should improve better facilities and customers service
Nice repeat visit
Staff, free breakfast, location are excellent. Nice to be around a lot of students
Great stay and value
We rally loved our stay. Our room was spotless, the staff was really nice and the breakfast was great. I will say that the beds might sit a little high for some since there is storage space/drawers underneath, but it was fine for us.
Would be great if basic things like hangers, kettle are provided in the room..
The place is clean. Will definitely stay here again.
Overall very good. Bad smells from the bedsheet.
Very clean and nice staff and great amenities. The washroom and sink layout was very weird and seemed awkward. Everything else was great for a short stay.
Very comfortable bed , the breakfast was amazing
This is a property for actual travelers, not people who want a hotel to sit in. The rooms have beds and a shower and that’s it, no fridge or kettle etc. The place is clean, the amenities are awesome (gym etc) and it is walking distance to everything. I personally rate this place. Staff are helpful and friendly and there is a good breakfast.
Short walk access to downtown and many amenities
Reasonable price and convenient.
Parking space limited
Very helpful staff. Enjoyed the breakfast.
Good location, service, The beds are too high for me.
It’s safe but not good for senior because the bed is very high it’s hard 34’ high without step
details like no tv or fridge were not made clear.
The room was basic, clean and very quiet. Good security. Free arcade games were a nice touch.
Room is clean. A tv and hairdryer would be nice. We just needed a place for one night and this place is just right.
Has a lot of amenities which I liked!
Very clean and spacious with excellent parking
This place is not a hotel, it is more like an apartment room with future. It was a nice room. The bathroom is very small, and there is nowhere to put your clothes when you take a shower. They real need to put a tv, refrigerate and other thing you find in hotel. The pillows were small and not supportable. Breakfast was the same thing every day. The location was great, it was half an hour or less walking from ever were wanted to go. It does have a lot of extra things like a game room, gym, move room and other fun activities. The lady security guard that works there is by far the nicest person we meet in all of trip in Canada.
no hangers or hair dryer or box of tissue
Amazing for the price
