Really welll located
The Hotel rooms were very dirty we found our room smelling bad, with the toilet not clean as well for the shower with hairs and moad, I asked to cancel my room but I was not allow due to no refound policies. The first recepcionist was very nice, however the one at the night was very rude and unrespecfull, every one else was very nice during our stay !
The location is great, close to many transport links but still in a quiet enough area. The morning staff were very friendly and super helpful. The hotel cleanliness however leaves a lot to be desired. I don’t mind budget hotels but i expect clean carpets on the floor. Clean mattresses, not finding dead skin and stained mattresses in every room. A foul smell on multiple floors of the hotel. The evening staff were also just rude and barely acknowledged the existence of guests unless pressed to do so.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Not impressed with the hygiene and cleanliness of the hotel. And bar area pestered by flies when having a drink, bugs in the bed. Not impressed one bit.
This property was a bit run down and drab; felt a little grubby. I stay in this area of Lyon frequently for work. The quality of the breakfast was poor for the price of 14Eu. There are plenty of affordable breakfast options nearby so I would recommend skipping the hotel breakfast. Very convenient to train, tram and metro. Good location; not a great value.
1 night stay
Good for a night stay. Great location. Don't expect much
Convenient access to train station and city centre
Very convenient location next to Gare Perrache and 20-25 minute walk to city centre and Old Lyon. A family member and I stopped over in Lyon to watch a Rugby World Cup match in St-Etienne the following day. A convenient location with easy access to the train station and reasonable walk from the city centre and the old city were the main criteria in choosing this hotel. In this regard, the hotel delivered 100%. Also, staff were very friendly and helpful. However, room was very small and somewhat worn down - the bathroom door didn't have a lock on it! It was unseasonably hot for end of September (almost 30 degree highs during the day), but room was OK with window open (surprisingly little street noise given location). It suited our purposes, but I would not recommend for a longer stay in Lyon.
it was nice, clean, and in a good area. Checked out 15 minutes late and it wasn’t a problem!
Good location parking in road outside if you can find a space but is free overnight Very noisy next to a busy road cars and trams early in the morning Decor dirty needs updating
Very convenient being next to the train station. You can't hear any of the trains which was great. Rooms are a bit dim and the AC works but not great at cooling the room right down. Overall very happy with the accommodation
The property was in a very convenient location, near the train/bus and restaurants/shops. It was a great area! Only problem was the air conditioner was not working, which they warned us about. Room was too hot, otherwise all was fine.
Our stay was very satisfactory. Very clean. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Good food. Everything we needed, transportation, shopping, dining etc was close by. Such an array of dining choices all with 1 to 3 minute walk. I would recommend to my friends and family.
Clean and modern with helpful staff
Lovely place and very kind and helpful staff. Good location and wpuld recommend to any traveller.
great stay - only confusion was the parking arrangements
Very good value for money
A very good hotel and very good value for money. It is also very well located.
Terrible - stinky, loud, buggy
This place was awful, made worse by the fact that Lyon is full of affordable, cute boutique hotels. Upon arrival, both my colleague and I needed to move to new rooms because our original rooms both had a terrible stench of mildew. My room had mosquitos flying all over. Very little noise control, I could hear my neighbors cough and watch TV. Front desk staff with major attitude consistently (stayed for three nights). Please find another place in Lyon - there are so many better options!
cheap comfortable hotel close to center of lyon
The hotel was in an ideal location, within walking distance from the place bellecour. There are plenty of places to eat within easy reach of the accommodation. The price of a night at the hotel was not very expensive. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was tasty. The staff at the reception were friendly.
Air conditioner not working so a bit warm needs a bit of a renovation
Awful hotel
The smallest hotel room I have ever been. We couldn't open two middle size luggage at once. The luggage had to stay closed between the front door and the toilet door, on the aisle. After a shower, the bathroom floor was all wet. Polled of water. I do not recommend at all. I won't come back.
Good location, Xmas market on in the square, next to station. Hotel is relaxing , nice bar area. Staff very helpful
OK hotel in Lyon
hotel has a good location close to Perrache train station, good size room but hardly any furniture to place personal items, no international TV channels, no fridge nor safe in the room, breakfast buffet was good quality, WiFi needed to sign in each and every time, Front Desk staff was OK Overall an OK hotel in Lyon
Great hotel, great breakfast. Very small room
VERY BASIC
Basic. And empty shower gel dispensers (lucky I always carry some) is not what you expect to see!!!!
Value for money
There were ants in the room, but this may have been brought in from baggage, so no cause for concern on my part. The bathroom is satisfactory and that is all. The staff are super friendly. The area isn’t the most vibrant and although there are bars and restaurants to visit, there isn’t much choice.
average room
Very close to metro and train station but I didn't find the neighborhood interesting. The room was good enough but not ideal. The window in my room was in front of the emergency stairs so i had to use curtains. Might consider this hotel again.
Really bad experience, no hotel personal, dirty
AC did not work in the entire hotel, room was so small that the rwin beds were touching wall to wall, only way to get to 2nd bed was to walk over 1st bed. Very dirty. Personal at hotel never responded to any requests. Very bad experience
Hotel in Lyon.
Campanile Lyon was ok for us for the 2 nights. We used Lyon to stay over because the bus trip to Paris was too long ( train strike ) the hotel room is very small but it was close to the station.
Nice staff, funky lobby and good wifi
The lobby and restaurant area were very modern and nicely decorated, it was quite funky with deck chairs, nice chairs and a football table. The room was exactly as we ordered (twin) and was clean and tidy. The shower was very odd as there was no curtain or door so the bathroom would completely flood. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and it was easy to walk to see local sights. Shops and bakeries were nearby and a nice park out the front. The wifi was good.
Convenient location
Perfect location for city transportation including bus, metro and trams. Same place for Ouibus and Flixbus to go visit nearby towns. Very clean room and nice front view of a park.
Close to station, walking distance to attractions
Very happy with location and room. Would recommend to stay
Great central location, friendly staff, good breakfast buffet.
Convenient to Gare Perrache
Decent hotel, close to shopping, restaurants and train station. Room is on the smaller side (as most European rooms) but clean. One negative is that the pillows for sleeping are very small and very, very firm. If you like a softer pillow, bring your own as these are hard. Breakfast was good and average in price (about 10 Euros each). Also, I've noticed that most hotels rooms don't provide facecloths; another thing to bring if you like to use one.
Great location, highly recommended
This hotel is ideal for a short city visit to Lyon. Well located, clean, friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are not huge as previous posts mention but we managed (2 adults and a 4 yr old) for 3 nights. Would definitely recommend and also stay at other Campaniles' if they are like this one!
Bang for your buck
Overall the hotel was great. The location was excellent; just steps from the metro and near lots of great restaurants. The hotel staff spoke english and was very friendly and helpful. The lobby was also great for a drink. My one complaint was that the rooms were quite small and there was no safe in the room. If I were to come back to Lyon, I would surly consider staying here again.
Expensive
Thinks the campanile is expensive forr the basic standard of rooms should be 60 65 euro
Holiday
Good
Location is perfect!
to small
no room service, to small, even breath is to difficult.
nice hotel close to rail and tram station
room was clean and comfortable.bar staff was good service
Quaint hotel at an awesome town and beach
We came in for some days at the beach and really enjoyed it. The hotel is very well maintained and equipped. The pool is relaxing and it is very conveniently located close to the two beaches and train station/ groceries. We will definitely return. My only suggestion is have a coffe maker in the room and also some English channels in the TV.
Good overnight stay
This hotel surprised us. We thought we'd booked a hotel in the lower east side when we were looking for the place. Good sized clean room, good sized clean bathroom and amenities. The lighting is a bit poor though. The breakfast is limited and they could put napkins over their breads to allow for folks to cut what they want, eggs could have been added to the morning menu for children who need protein with all that bread, cereal and juice. But the hotel staff was very helpful and professional, the place was secure. The room could use more shelf space since they didn't provide a dresser, but at least the A/C worked! Parking is not easy, but if you get a spot in front of the hotel, it's ok. It's located along the river Rhone so walks along the river are nice. It's near the university as well.
Not good
The room was extremely small, and the bed was hard as a rock. The walls are really sad, feels like a prison.
Fint hotel i Lyon.
Meget central beliggenhed. God modtagelse i Receptionen.
A recommander
Terribile
Camera molto sporca, niente pulizia, tappeti sporchissimi tutti macchiati , assolutamente da evitare
Alles da was man braucht. Nette Rezeption.
Not a pleasant stay
Staff is welcoming and location quite good next to train station BUT - Room smell really sewage. (Like the drain was bad). We didn't ask to change room, since it was late. - At 11pm or so we were all woken up by fire alarm that run for 5 min in the engire hotel. Noone picked up at front desk so we ended up getting up and dress again to go down. It seems someone smoked in their room, so it made the fire alarm go off for tje entire property. It seems so weird. - Room cleanliness is also average with a lot of dust over the air con. Yet bed linen are clean and beds are somehow confortable. - Breakfast is expensive vs room price
