This property was on a list for hockey teams to use in a tournament recently. There is very limited parking and many families had to park elsewhere, not ideal traveling with kids and hockey equipment. The staff were not pleased with the kids either. The day staff seemed fine but at around 7pm they started pacing the halls and giving warnings and such to people just walking down the halls. We later learned non hockey team guests were encouraged on multiple occasions to complain about the kids. One guest even stated that she made it clear she was not bothered and the staff member tried again to get her to complain saying she didn't have to put up with this. Again it was kids walking down the hall to a room, not running or yelling or anything disorderly. Hotel is nice but would not recommend for any sports teams.
Conveniently located downtown. The staff here were excellent- the first room i was in smelled alot like it had been smoked in. One of the housekeeping staff, Janice, happened to be there and assisted me immediately to a new room. It was no hassle at all. This was also one of the quietest hotels ive ever stayed in. Thank you for the hospitality!
Everything
Nice weekend stay
It was a nice stay beds are super comfy. Front desk was nice called and ask if we needed anything. And their breakfasts was good lots to choose from which i like.
Very little sound proofing in the rooms. You could hear conversations from the hall and room next door
Free breakfast was decent bacon was extra cost
We were not advised that free parking was not included. It was $25 additoonal per day
Mattress in our room was terrible, it felt like sleeping on hay. I had to sleep on the floor and my wife the couch😩😩😩😩😩😩😩
Always a great stay!
Convenient place to stay
Was happy with our stay
The continental breakfast could be better. Eggs were cold and the potatoes. Not allowed to use a travel mug for coffee. Room had wallpaper tearing in certain parts. But other otherwise rooms were clean and it was a short stay of 1 night that it was not a problem. If there longer then 1 night the breakfast would of bothered me more.
Very nice and clean
Parking was easy
Convenient location for downtown. The room was great, but the bed was terrible, matress was totally worn out.
Arrived to a room without a pull out couch . Staff upgraded room . Excellent service from staff . However the bedding was deffinetly not cleaned as there was eithrr lipstick or blood on the sheets under the blanket . Other than that it wasnt a bad place .
Staff was very helpful and polite. Great location for restaurants and shopping. The suite overlooked the downtown scene that got pretty busy on the weekend, what with a hockey tournament in town, lol.
Great stay! IMO hot breakfast includes eggs and another protein like bacon/sausage/ham but here it was an extra $5 for that. Happy the whole breakfast hasn’t been done away with in the hopes of a fatter bottom line!
Parking was a nightmare. The air conditioner didn’t work. It was extremely hot in the room.
Comfortable room and great location - very central.
Very king and accommodating to our dog. Loved the gift bag they gave him upon arrival! Clean and friendly and short walk to all of downtown attractions.
Beautiful hotel .Rooms are really large with a microwave and kettle with tea and coffee.Location is great, short walk to waterfront with plenty of restaurants and bars in between including two great Irish pubs.Eight minute walk from the airport bus drop off.Breakfast at hotel adequate but basic but complimentary.Would have been nice if there was a safe in the room but no real threat as cameras in hallway.Would definitely recommend this beautiful hotel.
Great spot for a getaway.
The staff was amazingly efficient and friendly. Breakfast had a lot of choices. Located in a very nice part of the downtown, easy walking distance to many places and attractions.
Easy check in and pleasant staff. Just in town for 1 night to see a concert at the Scotia Centre.
Perfect stay but not much breakfast options.
Hotel is dated. Peeling wallpaper, older furniture, water damage to walls. Beds ok. Staff is fabulous. There’s a surcharge for meat with breakfast, which I’ve never encountered before.
It was very sanitary and well upkept.
I stayed in the junior suite and loved every minute. The hotel and room layout was great. The bed was comfy, the lighting was very adjustable and on site parking is a bonus. I will definitely stay here again!
In the heart of the Entertainment district and near many great restaurants. It’s easy to park and walk everywhere, being mindful Halifax is on a hill. Check in was a breeze. Elevators are quick. We ordered room service from the on property restaurant and the food arrived piping hot. We were pleased. Hallways can be a little noisy and the noise does travel to the rooms unfortunately.
Stay was good. Paid for room in advance when I booked our stay. But was charged $50 on my Credit Card that was taken off right away but was told upon check out that it would take 7 business days to be removed from my card.
Always stay here.
Friendly staff. Seem happy. Was quiet at night. Nice breakfast. Great coffee!
Cambridge stay March 2025
We liked the hotel location, room and breakfast. Staff was helpful and friendly. Unfortunately there were concerts and other events in Halifax that made the hotel very noisy as late as 3-4 am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Suggest not picking a suite close to elevator banks to reduce noise levels
Location
Our suite was clean and spacious for a girls night away for 3 ladies. The kitchen area was beautiful and everything was very clean. No complaints, would definitely stay there again.
It was great! We continually choose this hotel and are never disappointed so far.
Great place!!
Awesome stay!
Not very sound proof could hear anyone in the hallway
Great location staff we’re very friendly and accommodating.
A little outdated but was quiet. Comfy bed, lots of space with a great layout.
Loved the spa area and the cleanliness
Very clean and staff friendly and accommodating. Delicious breakfast.
Nice clean rooms and tasty breakfast!
Great downtown location. Staff very accommodating. Definitely stay there again.
Lovely location and rooms themselves were okay but in general it needs updating. Looking a bit run down. There was mold remediation sign off the parking garage entrance. Elevators were glitchy.
Breakfast was not very good. Tasted like boxed scrambled eggs, hashbrowns were dry, salty and hard. No bacon unless you wanted to pay $5, sausages were $6. Fruit Loops cereal had lots of powder from the bottom of the box. Rooms were noisy, we were on the second floor and chairs were constantly be dragged across the third floor, it seemed like the entire morning. Carpets were old and the walls were damaged underneath the wallpaper. The furnace filter had at least a half inch cover of dust which is not healthy for guests. I paid $26 for underground parking but the front desk lady said try to be back early because the hotel is full and I might not find a spot if I come back too late.
Stayed at this property for a concert at the Scotia bank Centre. Property was clean , staff was very nice, room was a great size and the surrounding areas were perfect for walking to shops/restaurants.
close to where we wanted to visit.
Close to everything downtown and very friendly staff
I booked this hotel because it was a good price and was very convenient to the Scotiabank Centre Halifax. The check-in was exceptional. The room wasn't available but they called on my cell when it became available. I recommend more USB ports in the room as well as having side tables on both sides of the bed. The water drained very slowly in the room sink, tub and toilet. This may have been isolated to our room only, not sure. Thru the night my sleep was interrupted a few times by voices in the hallways of other guests coming and going as the sound proof is not good. The breakfast that was included was a nice way to begin our morning. I would recommend this hotel.
Room was great. Breakfast was great also. Only complaint would be parking, not enough spaces. Other than this great!
Breakfast was cold the second day as in eggs amd hashbrowns Left message at dront desk was better the 3 rd day
Staff very kind and competent Breakfast included in the rate is a good perk Room are decent even if they are older. Parking is a challenge but if you can get a street parking place it is a bonus on weekends as they are free . Overall very good hotel
Toliet is low of you have knee problems this can be a inconbience Room was also hot even when ac was set at 15 degrees celcius
Mini vacation
Great stay, friendly staff, excellent location for us to get around the city without using our vehicle. Comfortable and quiet.
the only thing i did not like was the fee for the parking at the price you pay your room but other than that it was ok
We should have requested the pet-free floor. The desk was very good about moving us to a quieter floor when we brought the backing to their attention.
It is not kid oriented,no pool,no kids channels on the TV.
The hotel is located at a good location. However, for the price paid, the inside furniture and esthetics looks old and outdated. The heat was also noisy and the door was not sound proof. A dog was barking early in the morning which woke us up. I had a hard time sleeping as i could here people from the corridors. The breakfast was not thr greatest either. They served the same thing everyday woth no suasage or beacon to compliment. If you are planning a long stay this is not a hotel for you.thr breakfast is terrible. I am not sure, i will rebook this hotel again.
Appreciated the helpful and attentive staff at the Cambridge Suites. It’s close to downtown, and staff assisted us with extended parking through an event on the last day of our stay. Even after checkout, and that was much appreciated and helped us enjoy the day.
The stay was okay, didn’t like that they charged separately for the parking
Stayed here while visiting at IWK. The location is good, hotel was clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that we ended up on a pet friendly floor and a dog howled for hours through the night and into the morning. We stayed an extra night and were moved to a pet free room which was very kind of the staff. Plan on coming back soon.
Will stay again!
Clean and a fantastic location!
It was a great friendly experience
Convenient location
Good
I'd definitely stay here again.
Perfect location in downtown Halifax. Loved my Junior Suite room. Super comfortable and clean with a great breakfast included. No need to look elsewhere.
The sink in the bedroom and shower had very slow drainage and resulted in icky build up. Other than that it was a great stayzzz
Would stay again.
An unfortunate experience
Our arrival and check in was fantastic, Rylan was great and very pleasant to deal with. We were greeted with a welcoming smile, and in a quick manner. Upon arrival to our room, everything seemed eye catching, until we set our bags down and started looking at things into more detail. I was appalled to see the things we were seeing. We had booked room 224 with two queen beds, and a pull out sofa for two adults and four children (one being a curious 1.5 year old). When I opened the closet door there was a dirty sock and Corona bottle cap. After checking out the beds, we noticed yellow staining along the edges in larger portions. Our bathroom looked like the floors and tub hadn’t been touched as far as cleaning went. There was hair in the tub, hair on the floor in many areas, and dirt in a lot of these areas as well. The area around the toilet was discoloured, and dirty with dirt and hair we had nothing for the pull out sofa. We had to go to the front desk to get things, and make the bed ourselves. I approached Rylan with photos of the condition of the bathroom, and a photo of the sock and bottle cap. Housekeeping was sent to vacuum up the hair and dirt from the tub and floor. Although the toilet wasn’t cleaned, he happily took the sock and bottle cap. We were under the impression that there was a pool at this facility. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking to travel with children. Perhaps this was a one off, however this was our experience.
Convenient location to the bar and food district. Easy walking to the Scotiabank Center
Great location !
Was visiting out of province for business and this was one of the most professional, welcoming, respectful places I have stayed recently. Quiet, clean, and always will to help!
Excelent stay!!
Needs updating/renos. We stayed at same hotel 2 years ago and it has deteriorated a lot since then. Breakfast was good but first morning eggs and hashbrowns were cold. Housekeeping knocked on door every morning at 8:20 to see if there was anything we needed. Didn’t reset room once.
The room was clean but could hear every noise, from the next room and hallway loudly. The hotel has a parkade but charges an additional $25 tax per night for a vehicle in addition to the room rate. They refused to accept cash or debit card for their "incidental deposit", they only offer foreign wines in the room, nothing supporting NS wineries, and they also serve some spectacularly terrible muffins in their breakfast offerings, definitely avoid those if you visit!
Overall, we had a really great stay and so we would definitely recommend. I would not hesitate in booking again. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, beds were so comfortable (major plus), rooms were clean, spacious and well laid out. One of our suites was slightly dated compared to the other, but honestly, that was not a problem. Half our party got the slightly noisier end of the corridor and a room with quite thin walls while the other room was lovely and quiet. While staff are very attentive to guest needs and requests (thank you) it would be nice to not have to keep asking for basics such as cutlery, mugs and a kettle. These probably could be provided as standard as the suite includes a kitchenette (that was our only bug-bear). Breakfast was fine although some items are chargeable (sausages) and I would advise going across the road to Steve-o-Renos if you’re after for a great cup of coffee. There are facilities for doing own laundry (cheaply), a tuck shop and free bureau facility for printing boarding passes etc which was much appreciated. Location is great, within walking distance of harbour front, restaurants, shopping and Scotiabank Centre. We really enjoyed our stay here, so as first time visitors to Halifax you have a big thumbs up from us. Thank you Cambridge Suites staff, for your very kind hospitality.
Close to event we were attending
Friendly and helpful staff
Room had good beds. Microwave and fridge was good, a must, and used. Great hotel to stay. Will be returning again when we are going to halifax.
it was located where downtown halifax was easily walking distance. Fine restaurants and pubs are very close.
Great location.
location
Overall good accommodation for an affordable price. The parking is convenient and centrally located. One note: The bathroom lighting in this hotel is not good for applying makeup. Also, you have to pay if you want bacon or sausage with the very basic “included” breakfast - a little disappointing.
The hotel was able to accommodate an early check in and the staff were friendly and welcoming.
Excellent in all respects.
I would just like to start off by saying the streets of Halifax are very narrow and my truck is very large. The staff went out of the way to see I was parked safely every night. The young man working in the bar, the evening we arrived was absolutely amazing. He could not do enough for us. He was charming and accommodating. The front desk staff were all well organized, and efficient, as well as friendly . The cleaning staff did a wonderful job with our room and made sure everything was where it was supposed to be. I would highly recommend this hotel. It was a fabulous stay.
Excellent on everything
No complaints. Clean and excellent service. Plentiful breakfast. Would return.
Central.
I always enjoy my stay at the Cambridge! Great staff. Great location!
Very clean the only thing is hot tub should be updated not good flow
The property is outdated. The bed was very uncomfortable and I could hear the tv in the room next to me clear as day. It got the job done as I was just there to sleep on a business trip but I likely wouldn’t book again.
New pillows are needed
Staff were friendly and offered great amenities - the breakfast leaves a bit to be desired but over all a great experience!
We enjoyed being so close to Scotia Centre. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants.
Very close to everything
good
