Excellent service throughout!!! Bartender at the barnwas an absolute sweetheart.
Simply wow
Exceptional. Outstanding
Not what it used to be
We knew this hotel from when we had stayed a year ago. Oh how low it has fallen! No service at the pool, no service at the bar, no air conditioner (despite being at 29 degrees ) We had booked two nights, but we chose to leave after the first one as it was just such a terrible experience. Will not come back again.
The AC was broken and the staff still put us in the room. We got conflicting information on how long the AC was down. We switched rooms; however, the AC still did not work until our last day. We heard other guests had the same complaint. There were no apologies, only a bottle of wine sent to our room. The property is beautiful and the restaurant to very good. I would not stay here again as the front desk service was not helpful and condescending when we asked why they would put us in a room that they knew that the AC was broken. This is not a 5 star property.
Arrived to find bed bugs in the bed. The front desk basically said no there’s not, had to show the manager and she still refused to rectify the situation. I left as they took more than 30 minutes to accommodate a new room in there old-stinky and apparently bug infested property. And still refused to refund me. Far from a 5 star hotel.
Fantastic Food
A really quirky hotel with incredible modern art. Great service and incredible food. Bravo to the chef. Absolutely delicious . Wish we could have stayed longer.
Staff service and amenities not what they used to be, having been coming here for several years pre covid. Having had to chase room availability, when one did become available, was shown to it by way of a guided tour of the hotel as she had never been to that part of the hotel before! Really - staff training?
Absolutely amazing building, art decoration, functionality. The villa is just beautiful all around. Great job in converting it into a hotel. Great lobby, pool area, spa, restaurants. Rooms are very comfortable. Staff was very helpful in all aspects of our needs. Not much at walking distance, aside from a couple restaurants, dry clean, pharmacy. The region around it is very beautiful, with many wineries at close distance, lake Garda about 1h drive away. We had a blast in our 4 nights stay.
We loved the uniqueness of the hotel. Staff was super nice and helpful.Breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately air conditioning in May not turned on and it was very hot in our room . Why they just don’t turn it on to please guest not sure . Spa was very nice .Shuttle to Verona was needed because taxi ride was $60 . So you need to get in and out of city according their schedule which is not always convenient because it leaves city at 7:30 . To early for having a nice dinner . So if you have car it’s no problem. We stayed 15 days in Italy and this was the only hotel that charged $ 25.00 for a scotch drink . In Verona they are less than $10.00 . I knew by the price that this hotel was not a five star even though it’s rated that way . You pay for what you get . But it’s to bad because this hotel is unique and could be great . But sleeping and getting ready in a hot room was the worst. Also if you don’t have a car taxi service from hotel is $15 before you even go anywhere. We had a great time and liked the our stay but unfortunately would not recommend to people without car or who like air conditioning. Lol or drink a lot if scotch .
What a frustrating experience, coupled by a poor and understaffed hotel. We arrived and immediately loved the entrance to the grounds. But this is pretty much where our enjoyment stopped. Our room was pretty worn down, as was the entire hotel. It’s almost like somebody poured millions of dollars into this hotel ten years ago and has not kept it up since then. There were water stains in our shower and especially in the sauna area. The food was not that fresh, especially breakfast (obviously old croissants). Our bed mattresses were thin and uncomfortable. The treadmills are very old and only one really functions. The clock in the gym was out of batteries. Etc etc. I don’t say this stuff because I care all that much about some gym clock; more so because the gym clock is an example of the greater issue that affects this hotel. We ended up telling the staff that we were going to leave, and to refund us the balance of our stay. They offered to upgrade us to a nicer room, but the problem was so widespread, that would not have helped. I received an email a few days later saying my refund was rejected because the booking was nonrefundable. Well yes, it was, but our reason for leaving was the quality of the hotel, not a change of plans. All in all this is not a five star hotel, and we regret booking this place during our vacation in Verona.
This place is in great need of a renovation!
This hotel appeared like a Great Dame of an Italian Villa but the property is poorly managed and maintained! I was shocked to see cracks all over the walls in my room. The art displays are tacky and poorly displayed; the pool is small and not inviting to swim. This hotel is operated as a two and a half star hotel mostly because of the condition of the property. In addition, the inside of my car was entirely wet when we departed. Yes, the passenger seat was completely wet to the point that it soaked my clothes.
What an art explosion of an experience! Amazing art everywhere you look, loved the quiet location and the free shuttle into Verona.
Wonderful Hotel and Staff
Amazing hotel with exceptional staff who went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible
Beautiful property. Very eclectic art work with a real focus on exotic; blends in with th site the atmosphere and the cozy but yet comfortable layout. The gardens in the front of the property are clean and well trimmed. The gardens in the back were a little more rugged and at the same time rather natural and appealing. The staff was very professional, educated , extremely friendly and always there to make your stay pleasurable.
Excellent hotel and the staff were great, enjoyed every minute.
Fabulous hotel and can't wait to stay there again. The hotel is beautiful and in a stunning setting with easy access to Verona and Lake Garda. From the moment we arrived every single member of staff was friendly and welcoming and the art tour of the hotel was brilliant. We would highly recommend this hotel.
Stylish villa
Great stay in this beautiful and stylish villa filled with eye catching modern art. Excellent service and nice ambience.
Superb staff who are knowledgable and attentive. The hotel has amazing grounds
May not be safe
My door lock did not work. It unlocked self intermittently during the night. It made sound, a buzz I thought in was a message on a cell phone or an electric short. It woke me repeatedly during the night, every few minutes. I got up repeatedly in attempt to identify the source of the noise. I identified the source of the sound at approximately 4:45am The knowledge that the door was unlocking itself was even more disturbing. I reported the issue to the front desk letting them know I did sleep the whole night. I was met with indifference. They said the would send the service man to address. Hours later I returned to my room the door was unlocked. The issue was not addressed I went to the front desk and they told me the noise was addressed "it was the air conditioner" the shower me a part that was replaced. They ignored the information I provided. I informed them the issue still exists and that it is dangerous, no should stay in this room until repaired. The asked if I wanted to change my room. I did of course though I reminded them for the safety of the guest the room should not be used until the door lock has been repaired.
Very quirky
Bad start to our visit very poor reception staff with a superior attitude offered the worst room in the hotel after much complaining were transferred to a better room next day .the rest of the staff were some of the best we have ever had . Nice pool area good shuttle bus facility for going to Verona centre .overall a good hotel spoilt by poor reception staff
Hotel staff was excellent including front desk and room attendants. The infrastructure of the hotel was lacking. Both of our rooms had showers that leaked--very unpleasant! The lighting was totally unacceptable, not enough and lots of vibration in the light that did exist. The grounds and pool were beautiful, but we did not use as we were there in the autumn. The dining room was a strange place. The service there was strange--the kind that suggests that my request for parmigiana cheese for my pasta was "not proper". Apparently, the A/C was turned off for the season. However, they pretended to come to our room and turn it on. It never did come on. The art work everywhere was somewhat strange, but somewhat entertaining as well.
Very cool property
We had a nice stay at this property. The hotel is very cool with fantastic art work throughout. The staff are very helpful, we became quite good friends with the shuttle driver who was great. This property is about 6 miles from town and getting a taxi is definitely an issue. The shuttle must be booked in advance. The beds are quite uncomfortable and need to be replaced. The shower leaked all over the floor, a common European partial shower type door, but it leaked under the door as well. I would rate this a four star property for several reasons as stated above, a bottle of water every night by the bed should be a minimum also for a 5 star.
Enjoyable stay at a very different hotel.
We have stayed twice before and this hotel amazes us. A beautifully restored villa with some 60 rooms and plenty of modern art. Staff are friendly and efficient. Breakfast is good. Pool area is relaxing. The opera in the Arena, Verona is amazing.
Fantastic hotel! La grande Belleza!
Enjoyable.. Interesting..
Enjoyable, interesting to go through many centuries old walls on a modern atmosphere. Highly recommended
All style and no substance
A great hotel for contemporary art enthusiasts. Not a great hotel for hotel enthusiasts. Expensive for what it is. Amateur overpriced cuisine - 8 euros for fries??!!!! Small rooms. No kettles or irons but hotel is happy to charge you for laundry. And the worst of all - after being woken up early the first morning by loud maintenance, the hotel apologised and promised they would take note. The second morning a porter knocked twice at our door to collect bags - for a different room!! We complained again and received a small token of apology (tiny bottle of prosecco and a plate of fruit). Third morning - yep - disturbed again!!!! This time by the cleaner banging and hoovering and dropping cutlery next door. The hotel staff couldn't care less. Mr Byblos should stick to fashion because hotels are definitely not his forte. Shame because it could have been so much better. The private terrace at the back of the pool is a great little spot if you get it to yourself though!
Delightful pool area.
A good change
Great Hotel very different and nice but location is a bit far
Art and design location to relax in
Lovely italian service very charming. Beautifil room wirh great quirky feel of art and design. The gardens were pretty and the breakfast in the garden room was delicious. A very pleasant stay.
Near motorway but in the middle of the countryside
We loved it. There was a courtesy bus to Verona so you didn't need to drive into the city for the opera. Everyone was lovely and the art work was mind boggling. We would definitely go back.
5 star hotel/villa
1st class experience....great staff....very helpful....fabulous restaurant.....we were treated like royalty
Simply beautiful. The service was top-notch and the villa was charming and eccentric at the same time. I plan on visiting many more times.
Loved it!
Pool is beautiful, staff was perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better 3 days away
Lovely unique hotel
Look forward to returning in warmer climate. Staff was wonderful especially tomasso in the Bar
Absolutely wonderful
In one word, Fabulous! It was a bit hard to find, but the minute we drove in we felt we were in another world. The building is from the 1700's and beautiful, but the inside of the hotel is totally modern in a nice way with artwork galore. It is a surprisingly interesting and pleasant combination, the sometimes funky artworks and an elegant hotel. The ground was absolutely beautiful with arches, stonework, flowers, pool and vegetable garden. It is outside of Verona and about 1.5 hours from Venice. We were driving and instead of staying in Venice decided to stay here and drive to Venice. It worked great. The restaurant was great and the breakfast buffet was elegant.
Absolute bliss!
We had a perfect 5 days stay whilst following a music tour and taking in the opera at Verona. The Byblos Art Hotel was the perfect base - immaculately presented stuffed with the most fascinating art (including several Damien Hirst and a couple of Mark Quinn sculptures), a lovely room, pleasant and clean pool with poolside bar and constant attendance and a very fine restaurant. I also took advantage of the beauty spa. Above all, the service was perfect - the staff couldn't have been more helpful and it was obvious that everyone took great pride in the hotel and their part in it. Highly recommended.
A unique hotel - one of the very best we have stayed in
From the moment we checked in we were made to feel at home in this fantastic hotel. Without exception the hotel staff were extremely friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble, from the staff at the front desk to the hotel courtesy shuttle drivers and the waiters. We were even given a warm handshake and a farewell gift by the hotel manager - a nice touch indeed. We grew to like the rather quirky arty decor and interior design that you will see on the website. We were made to feel very special and will return just as soon as we can.
will definitely return. loved the pool area, lounges, restaurants and bar. staff was great.
my only advice is to extend the hours of the fitness center. it is only open when the spa is open and it makes it difficult to exercise before 10 a.m. or after 7 pm. other than that I loved my stay, the staff was excellent and I would stay here again when in the area.
Byblos Perfection
Anyone looking for a relaxing, comforting,& thoroughly profficient Hotel, look no further. Lovely Staff, Great food, especially the stunning, breakfeast buffet. All aspects of the beautifully located & Stylish Hotel will give you great pleasure & enjoyment during your staff, cannot recommend it more highly

A jump into art & noble past
Wondedful and colourful experience!
Great
Always good
