Best B&B. Great Eco ethos.
Probably the best B&B we have ever stayed in. Lovely comfortable warm room. Great bed. Wonderful host with classy attention to detail. Legendary breakfast. 100% Eco friendly. Will be back for sure.
Best stay in scotland
Absolutely amazing! Couldn’t have asked for more. Kacey was a wonderful and attentive host, the food was exceptional and seeing the owl fly past was an added treat
A really friendly and warm welcome to an excellent B & B with every convenience and consideration for all needs. Kacey is a wonderful hostess and a great cook serving excellent food to enjoy in a very well decorated home. There is nothing to dislike or fault and we would definitely stay again.
Perfect location for the orkney car ferry
The perfect location if you want to catch the car ferry to Orkney. Literally 5 minutes away. Enough time to have breakfast and still make it with lots of time. Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic. Awesome personal service. A great spot for star gazing if there's no clouds. Highly recommended.
Beautiful location, gorgeous views, close to Pentland Ferry terminal, lovely hosts, very nice rooms, comfortable bed, and delicious food! Definitely highly recommend!
Great stay
This cottage was fantastic. Room was great, beds were very comfy and the breakfast was delicious.
This must be my favorite stay of any hotel/motel/b&b I’ve ever stayed at. Kacey is a true gem of a host and made sure that my sister and I had a great stay at her homestead/b&b. The communication leading up to our stay, the parking, the personal welcome, the design of the room and decor, the BREAKFAST! (WOW.) I wish I could have stayed at Kacey’s for the entire length of our trip. Definitely the best kept secret of the northern tip of Scotland!
Perfect stay
Kacey was a welcoming, attentive host who helped us out with our bookings to Orkney and provided beautiful meals. The accommodation was exceptional
The host was really nice, the accommodation is beautiful, the area is breathtaking and the food is exceptional! We will be back :)
Book it, you won't regret it.
Genuinely stunning. From start to finish, every aspect or our stay was fantastic. Great communication from our host Kacey, lovely welcome, beautifully decorated room (the Raven), comfortable beds, nice shower, lovely small touches like homemade biscuits. The food was divine. We also had an evening meal there and the salmon was one of the nicest meals I've had in a long time. We went for a lovely walk to watch the sunset and Burnside Cottage offered a couple of short walks to satisfy our need. We only stayed one night whilst driving the NC500, but I'd happily stay at Burnside for more if we needed to.
Excellent from start to finish. Very warm welcome for us and our dogs. Spacious room which was very comfortable and the food was delicious. Highly recommended.
You won't be disappointed here
Casey is a great host and will ensure that your stay is both comfortable and refreshing. All food provided is first rate. There is no 'shared space' in terms of breakfast room, or lounge and so you are pretty much confined to quarters as everything is done on a room service basis which at first seems a little weird but on reflection works well and is ideally suited to CoVID restrictions. Try the homemade Granola it's to die for...
Stylish B&B with delicious food
Stylish, big, comfortable and clean room, with a super thoughtful and caring host! Both breakfast and dinner was delicious, served in the room due to COVID.
Burnside cottage was perfect and a great location for a couple of nights stop on the NC500. It gave us the opportunity to explore the East Coast before travelling West. The hosts were very accommodating and always on hand if we needed anything.
Very friendly & accommodating host. Food lovely
Stunning place. Really quiet. Lovely host!
We had a superb time at Burnside Cottage B&B and would highly recommend staying here. The service was impeccable, homemade food was fresh and absolutely delicious (evening meals and breakfast), and Kacey went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely stay - even providing a list of local attractions for us to explore. Thank you!
A true gem of a place to stay. The room was amazing with added extras such as milk and the best homemade cookies. The host made us feel extremely welcone and has very useful local knowledge. Breakfast and dinner, well what can I say. Some of the best food in ages. The place to stay around John o'Groats.
Amazing stay at Burnside!
My partner and I had such a lovely stay at Burnside. Kacey was incredibly welcoming and had been very responsive and helpful in the lead up to our trip. Kacey was also very accommodating - we were so knackered after our trip to Orkney that we didn't want to go out to find somewhere to eat so she kindly made us dinner on short notice which we appreciated. The room itself was lovely and has everything you need. We were the only guests, so it was very quiet. The only thing that I might suggest that would be helpful is to have information on things to do in the area with Kacey's top tips and hidden gems.
