Very quiet and safe. Staff were lovely and helpful. I also learned that Bucu means corner. They support the local drivers so no Grab or Gocek. A lot of walking but not too bad. May be tiring for those with knee problems. Overall, good, clean, and relaxing place to stay.
This was exactly as advertised. Very friendly and helpful staff that speak English very well. Quiet get away from the busy city and beautiful sound of the river. Easy to walk around Ubud to a lot of restaurants, shops, and spas. Would definitely recommend staying here.
Very poor quality breakfast and we were charged for drinking water
Not bad place for a short stay.
The fixtures were old, breakfast was not good to basic and they did not even have irons or ironing boards. Staff was very nice but some of them were abrupt. The room was very nice but our bathroom door and other shower fixtures and all seem old.
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and the grounds were beautiful. It felt like we were in the middle of the jungle right on the property.
Great location. River view villa was lovely.
Forest view from the pool. Quiet. Good service.
Stayed 2 nights recently in the river pool villa. Arrived late after a long days travel, ordered room service (delicious) and went to bed. Cannot fault Bucu View, staff were attentive and super friendly. Breakfast was nice with amazing views from the restaurant. Villa was clean and well maintained, private pool a bit chilly due to lack of sun (expected in the jungle). Lovely birds singing daily. Happy hour cocktails good value. Located down the end of a quiet laneway, easy walk/quick Grab to the town centre. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to utilise the spa services/yoga room, will definitely return in future for a longer stay! Highly recommend.
Gorgeous property on river
Gorgeous property on river. Located off main road via long driveway this property offers serenity. Walking distance to numerous restaurants, spas, and shopping in Ubud
Lovely place, great location, peaceful
Beautiful peaceful place to stay. Excellent breakfasts, superb staff, nice rooms. Would absolutely stay here again
This property is in the perfect location. Only around 10 min walk to Ubud market and around 15 minutes to monkey rain forest. We booked a standard garden view room and it was comfortable enough. The shower seems a little old and a bit smelly but not to bad. We had a few power surges and lost power for around 10 minutes each time but this may be normal in the area? The pool and breakfast area look out over the river with great views. Well priced for what you get 😊
Staff very friendly, rooms spacious and inviting. Only issue was the tea and coffee in room didn’t get replaced. Overall would definitely stay again and recommend to frineds
Lovely hotel. Rooms are very comfortable and staff are fantastic. Very accommodating. Grounds are green, lush, peaceful. Included breakfast is good - great selection; large servings. Location is good, although you do have a bit of an uphill climb to get to the main road, Jalan Bisma. Once there, access to restaurants, warnings, stores, pharmacies is plentiful. Would recommend this hotel.
Everthing was terrific, from amenities to the staff service
Feels remote but in the center of Ubud
It’s a great place, much better than the pictures. It feels so remote but a t the same time it’s just five minute walk to the main street. The jungle and riverview room was great!
This is a beautiful property with ample space to walk around and not be stuck in crowds and the view of the forest and river made it even better. It is located perfectly on a quieter street. It’s only took us 10mins to walk to the center of Ubud by Ubud palace. The staff were amazing and always so friendly and actually cared for all their guests. The breakfast choices were great and filled us up til lunch. Cocktails/food were great and their restaurant prices were reasonably priced considering it’s in a resort. The hotel driver Yudi gave us so much insights on what to do etc when he picked us up at the airport and he answered all the questions we had. We will definitely be back to Bucu View next time we come to Bali and will splurge a little more and get the suite with the plunge pool. Only thing we could wish for was a longer stay.
No words can describe the beauty of place, staff service, facilities was too good.
Love the private pool and view, great food, friendly staff, but the location was a bit of a walk to central Ubud with little shade.
All the Staff was very helpful especially Agus from the restaurant. The Agent used for hiring motorbike should be changed! That bike was definitely not safe and in needs of service! Massage was okay The door lock is broken in the toilet Overall good stay
Beautiful view and landscaping, very serene ambience, but close to city centre. Polite and professional staff. We had a great and relaxing time here and would recommend it, but not for those walking handicap / access difficulties. Small glitches such as: our shower room door couldn’t close (Room 302), a sheer curtain instead of double curtain (blockout and sheer), and the shampoo dispenser metal spout falling off. Overall, a very pleasant stay at a reasonably-priced hotel.
Staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The location was great for exploring the city of Ubud. The breakfasts were amazing. The complimentary tea in the afternoon was most welcome.
The location was perfect. The staff were genuinely helpful and interested in us. The restaurant had a lovely outlook and the menu and food excellent. We enjoyed our little walk down to the Holy Water Spring, very peaceful. The only thing this hotel didn’t provide was a Spa/Massage service, which would have been convenient. There are many other Spas in close proximity to the hotel though. I would highly recommend a stay at the Bucu View, great value.
Nice hotel in a good location
A piece of quiet and peacefulness overlooking the river and trees 5 minutes from the centre of Ubud!
Perfect for relaxation in Ubud. Very good location. Very friendly staff. The Villa Juwet with private pool is perfect, view is awesome facing forest and river. Small point, maybe can put bidet in the toilet for some guest’s preference.
I loved that it was in the middle of the jungle. Beautiful view, still close to everything but not right I’m the center of the madness
Our stay at Bucu View was amazing. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The grounds and pool were beautiful and overlooked a river and forest which makes the hotel really authentic. It was also just round the corner from monkey forest road which is the centre of the ubud.
Very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful view of the jungle and river. Service and staff were very good.
I had an amazing time at Bucu View! The property is stunning, even nicer than the photos, and the staff are incredible. Especially Nilu the front desk manager. They went out of their way to accommodate me and ensure I was comfortable. Would highly recommend and will certainly be back!
Nice quiet location with beautiful scenery, along with good choice of healthy breakfast.
Amazing Stay. Amazing Staff.
Bucu View was awesome. Super close to town for any shopping and restaurant needs. If you don’t want to leave the restaurant has great food for reasonable prices. There is a beautiful pool area that is easy to spend multiple hours at, and the surrounding area is absolutely gorgeous. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was fantastic. I always felt welcome. Most notewbly, Nili at the front desk was fantastic. She was a wealth of information and was always happy to help me find something. She always greeted me by name and with a smile, making me feel particularly special. I absolutely recommend the Bucu View.
We like it because it is quiet and by the river and forest.
Perfect place to relax and recuperate in.
Everything was a delight. Good food, helpful staff, quiet location right on the Indian Ocean, it was everything we hoped it would be.
Peaceful an Quiet a few mins walk from the action
Bucu View is a very nice and peaceful resort on the edge of Ubud . Our room had an outdoor bathroom which was excellent. The staff were very obligingand and caring. The hotel is located down a laneway only 200 metres from the busy Ubud but is peaceful and quiet on the edge of the forest with a river in the gully below. Really recomend the property being very peaceful but only a few minutes walk to the action of central Ubud.
If I could rate this property 1000 stars I would. From the minute we stepped into the lobby, I felt welcomed and at peace. The staff was extremely accommodating! We received fresh beverages upon check-in and the staff made an effort to learn our names. Each time we saw them they would refer to us by their names and would greet us! The room itself was amazing and beautifully decorated. We were pleasantly surprised to find that breakfast (with four different meals to choose from!) was included in our room package, as well as afternoon tea and pastries. The food available in the hotel restaurant was delicious and the drinks were great. The atmosphere of the hotel was the definition of serene. I would not even bother looking at other resorts if I were to return to Bali; I loved my short home away from home and have all the respect in the world for the staff that make it possible!
This is a nice hotel with lovely scenery. We stayed here for 7 nights. The staffs are wonderful and helpful. The restaurant is excellent, we ate dinner twice and the food was superb. We used hotel transport for day trips. The car was clean and comfortable, the price was reasonable and the driver was excellent. we loved our stay here. Thank you Bucu view.
Nicest people I have ever met! Everyone was very friendly and services were excellent. Resort was very clean and quite. Great breakfast and dinner. Beautiful scenic view plus the pool was awesome. Definitely want to go back next year!
Amazing hotel with its location in the middle of the jungle!!! We loved the experience! This is what you should be looking for when visiting Ubud!
Overall the resort and all of the staff were wonderful. Views, the food, the service...all really great. Only complaints are that the A/C really never cooled off the entire room (only the part right in front of the door near the unit) and the blinds were fairly translucent making sleep difficult as the sun rises early there in Nov. I loved our experience, but will likely try to find a comparable resort offering better climate and sleep control.
Very clean. The restaurant was great. Staff were exceedingly kind and friendly.
Good
At first I was very angry with the hotel because I booked a room with a private pool and when I called them, they told me that room was no longer available. They at first tried to give me a room that was cheaper then what I paid but I refuse until I got a more expensive room. I told them it was their fault and they offered me a free massage and a pickup from the airport. I didn’t get the room I wanted but it was an overall good stay because the resort was nice and in a good area.
Amazing!!
Beautiful couple of days spent at Bucu View. It was quiet but very central with lots of things around to do. Staff couldn’t have been friendlier and more helpful. They helped organise our various transfers and our trip to climb Mount Batur where we got engaged :) an unforgettable stay! Justine and Ben
Beautiful location with traditional Balinese decor
Bucu View is in a stunning location, with the pool overlooking rainforest and a river, and a lovely hotel garden with traditional Balinese statues. Our Garden Deluxe room was clean and provided us with complementary bottled water and a minibar. The bathroom was an interesting but stylish design, with the shower and toilet in seperate frosted glass cubicles, with a curtain that could be pulled around to conceal the cubicles as well as the extra tiled space in front which included the sink, so to have some privacy if desired. The only downside to the hotel was it was about a 10 minute walk to the centre of Ubud, which consisted of a few hills. If you are wanting to stroll, or don’t mind driving into town, this hotel would be perfect for you!
What a birthday gift
So I booked the villa with the pool for my wife's birthday. Spent the day trekking ubud to arrive at bucu late afternoon to check in when we were only to be told our room was double booked and that they could downgrade us if we wished. They also showed properties they owned that we could stay at out of ubud. I had not received any emails or notifications of the issue only to be told when I arrived. Fuming.. understatement. Only good thing is that I was able to book Another hotel and they paid that hotel directly. holiday mood killer. And to top it off, their work shirts read, Yes We Can.. I left saying change your motto. NO you can't !
Excellent Hotel!
It has the most beautiful scenic view. The room was clean and very comfortable. The staff were extremely nice and accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel.
Awesome!
We absolutely loved our stay with Ayu and her team at Bucu View. It is an awesome spot, very close to town (so you can walk everywhere) but also on the edge of a hillside overlooking rice fields and jungle (so you feel like you are out of town). The pool was lovely with a waterfall edge overlooking the valley below - awesome to get into after a hot day out and about. Our room had a balcony with table and chairs to sit outside and enjoy the view also. Ayu and her husband have designed and decorated the property themselves and a professional interior designer couldnt have done a better job - a real talent there! Ayu was so personable and chatted freely giving us her insights and always willing to answer our questions. She very kindly, and happily took me to the markets one morning and cooked our whole family a 4 course Balinese dinner so we could experience true Balinese cooking (really going out of her way to select ingredients e.g. eels from the rice paddies (which we found out are not that easily found). So all in all a fantastic place to stay for a week and we would definitely stay there again when returning to Ubud. Bucu View has various rooms which have appeal to families as well as honeymooners - something for everyone.
Great stay!
Great location just a 5 Minute walk away from the main road in Ubud. Perfect if you want to be within easy walking distance of the main restaurants, bars and market but would like a bit of peace and quite. Amazing view of the valley from the pool. Fantastic and attentive staff with a really good breakfast.
Nice setting and a bit further from town.
The setting of this hotel is really amazing. You're surrounded by beautiful greenery with a river running across it. On arrival our bed sheets were very dirty and we asked them to change it which took 4 sets and even then we were so tired we just let it go. While they were doing the sheets I got the see mattress which was very disgusting. The hotel is set about 20 minutes away from the strip and there are some good restaurants about 10 minutes away. We were lucky it was dry season because it wouldn't be a nice walk in the rain because it's not all paved so it would be pretty muddy. Keep in mind the on site restaurant only serves food at specific times so you can't just grab a bite any time.
Proper tasty
Great stay at Bucu View, insane location and grounds tucked nicely off the main streets of Ubud. I would recommend a bike but walking is doable. The pool is unreal with incredible jungle views with a nice river a tonnes of free nature.. we spotted a monkey, lizards, butterfly's etc roaming through the valley Highly recommended Only downer was the breakfast, not the best but tonnes of epic food to find in Ubud
Amazing clean place to stay
We came to this hotel after having problems with the cleanliness at another hotel. As soon as we got there the staff were very accommodating (we obviously had no booking). They took us to a room that was clean and tidy and told us we could pay or book through expedia whenever we like. The air con was amazing! The room was very clean! And the staff were amazing. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.
Quiet location, wonderful staff, stunning pool
Loved my stay at Bucu View! Staff are funny, helpful and very friendly, rooms are clean and spacious and the location is perfect (off the main road). I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a lovely place in Ubud and would stay again without hesitation.
Peaceful
My family had a lovely stay at Bucu View in Ubud. It is in a quiet, slightly undeveloped area of Ubud. The positive aspects of this hotel are the setting, the view from the pool and the very lovely and friendly staff. We had an unfortunate experience as we had booked two rooms (one for my parents, one for the kids and us) one of them was perfect and the other had heavy mould through the bathroom. We understand that mould is a part of life in the tropics and jungle areas having lived in far North Queensland. However, the mould was such an issue that it was difficult to breathe in the room. My mother requested to change rooms and was advised that she would have to pay an extra $35 AUD per night (on top of original room price) to have a different room. She reluctantly paid the extra money and was given what was essentially the same room without extreme mould. We felt this was very unprofessional particularly as the hotel was not full. This was as I said an unfortunate experience as aside from this we loved the place and the staff.
Convenient, family run, clean and comfortable
Stayed here 3 nights four days with two children. Pool area was beautiful and the hotel was generally very relaxing. The owner was lovely. We spoke to her every day and she was always on hand making sure everything was in order. The hotel arranged a fabulous day trip mountain biking for us, visiting rice fields and a coffee plantation a truly fantastic day out. Hotel was in a perfect location for us very near the center of Ubud but far enough away from the noise of the main street.
Unfinished but a treat!
This hotel is perfect for those wanting to be set back from the busy roads of Ubud but still in a reasonable walking distance. If you do not wish to walk the hotel were fantastic at tracking down a motorbike for my partner and I, even when we arrived late(8 PM!). The staff were friendly and welcoming, which we welcomed after the service we received in hotels in Flores. The hotel is still under construction, noisy building work started at 6:30 AM, we're morning people so that was OK but it's something to bare in mind! We only found out this was the case the morning after we arrived in the light of day. This is why we managed to book at a cheaper price so we took that into account. The grounds and views are beautiful and when this place is finished it would be an ideal place to stay just on the outskirts from central Ubud. Also check if the restaurant is finished when you make your booking, otherwise you'll need to head into Ubud for snacks and restaurants.
Gorgeous & comfortable room
The room was shocking how beautiful it was, the bed super comfy, amazing toilet and shower and the air con was wonderful. The only crappy thing about the room is it barley got wifi, my phone wouldn't even connect most of the time, my boyfriend had a little Better luck. The staff was so amazing, very kind & helpful, and the free breakfast was incredible!
Value
Good location and helpful staff
Not as advertised and no hot water.
Jungle was beautiful and air con was cold but that was about the extent of good things about our stay. Doors to rooms have no seals and large gaps so many bugs were able to enter the room, including large spiders and many mosquitoes. They did not provide any mosquito nets and thus I received many large welts (4-5 inches in diameter) due to the mosquitoes I discovered I am allergic to. There was massive construction going on which really ruined the jungle view for us. This was not advertised. Furthermore that was incorrectly advertised, no in-room safes and Wi-Fi didn't work for us most of the time. No hot or even warm water. After complaining about the mosquito issue --and it was late at night, we didn't feel like complaining about the water and instead took very quick cold showers. This was not the relaxing experience we were looking for so we decided to call our next hotel and they were able to accept us one day early so we could leave this hotel early. The front desk assistant was pleasant but seemed upset that we were leaving because of mosquitoes and no hot water, and she refused to refund us for the additional nights that we were not staying for. We weren't happy. Would not return.
Nice hotel with beautiful view and friendly staff
Good experience at Bucu View hotel. It is quite and suite coupons.
beautiful
we stayed here for five days then spent a week in legian. two adults and two teenagers, in a large room with an outside bathroom with garden. It was very clean and comfortable. The property is beautiful and well maintained. the owner is very friendly and helpful. walking distance to monkey forest and town with great restaurants. nice pool as well. Paradise at an affordable price.
outstanding service, great breakfast
We had bungalow number 6. It had amazing views and the room was huge! The service was outstanding. They recommended us a few places and they were all good. The breakfast was very good. You could choose of american(eggs, bacon, etc) or continental(pancake)or indonesian(rice or noodles). All of them with a natural juice or fruits. The pancake was homemade and delicious! We had to leave early the last day and they provided an earlier breakfast. They also have tours and they rent motorbikes. We rented one of them and all was ok. The only bad things that I can say is that there was no hair dryer in the rooms and I could not borrow the shared one as another room had it. The location was good but you had to use the torch at night as the hotel is at the end of the street and there is only rice fields in there. (The hotel provided a torch) I will come back again!
Impressive and Beautiful
Hotel has absolutely beautiful gardens and fantastic veiw from the pool. A very relaxing hotel which i would stay again. Staff were very friendly and happy. Rooms very modern and clean
Great location with stunning views!
The room was nice, we stayed in the Suite Butterfly which had AMAZING views of the pool and the jungle! There were tons of ants and a few geckos which freaked me out but really that is just Bali. The pool was smaller than I expected and really only had a few lounge chairs but the views were breathtaking. The breakfast was including and it was delicious; they have three different menu options and they were all really yummy. The grounds of the hotel were really pretty and very well kept up. They only have breakfast on site, however, there were a few places to eat that were a 1 minute walk and food that deliveries. The staff was so nice and helpful, they offer you assistance with drivers and activities. The room itself was huge with so many windows which showed off the stunning views! The bed was FIRM, but surprisingly not awful to sleep on.
Relaxing stay
Our stay was extremely relaxing and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Thank you for a great time.
Beautiful view.
Upon check in we were told we had been given a free upgrade however, having seen the room and looking on the internet I'm not sure we had been upgraded. The room we were given was very basic.
Friendly staff
The staff went out of their way to help us organise anything we wanted, such as day trips. Very good service, would recommend for friends
Beautiful grounds, friendly staff
Only stayed one night but was very pleasant. All staff so friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Good location. Breakfast ok-Omelette was a bit runny and had to choose between fruit juice or fresh platter- other hotels offer both
Amazing stay
Loved everything about this hotel. Will definitely come back.
Tropical accommodation
My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights in Standard Bungalow. The outside grounds are beautiful and maintained, with a river and rainforest on the other side of the place. With that said, there are a few bugs around but that’s standard if you want to stay in more of a tropical area. We liked our bungalow but it was a bit outdated, the bathroom had a bit of mould here and there and it looked as though it had gone through a bit of wear and tear. This can all be easily fixed with a bit of maintenance or renovations, which they are currently doing to their rooms so there is construction going on at the moment. The infinity pool is nice, it has a beautiful view of the rainforest/jungle and seats inside the pool itself if you want to have a cocktail or beer while having a dip. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
Lovely. Great location but needs some improvement
We tried to contact the hotel twice to inform them about the reason for our trip: our honeymoon. We never received any reply from them & even the remark was mentioned in our booking through hotels.com, no honeymoon set up was there. We had a two-floor bungalow. Nice place, bathroom down & room itself upstairs with a nice veranda. However, cleanliness of the room was not perfect (dustbin dusty, bed sheets,...) & our safety deposit box was not working. When informing the reception about it, they told us that the last guests did not return the key for the box & we shall just leave our things in the room. The TV was also not working. The reception suggested us to change to a suite but we have to do it immediately. As we had a pick-up for a full day excursion just short time after, we were not able to change room. When coming back, we found the key of the housekeeping in our door - so everyone could have entered! However, that was the bad things, to conclude, we still enjoyed being with them. Breakfast was lovely, served in their small restaurant, you have a choice of different packages like asia noodles/rice with fruits and coffe/tea or omelette/toasts/fruits tea or coffee etc. The food was fresh and served after max. 10min. Lovely sitting and view into the nature. The pool is small, but nice. You can swim 24hours. Location is 5min walk from the main street of Ubud with plenty of restaurants. It is easy to walk to city.It is also only a 15min walk to Monkey Forest.
Bucu view!!!! Great!!!
I loved this hotel. The highlight was the outdoor bathroom!!!!
Comfortable and clean
Stayed here for 4 nights. Staff we were friendly, hotel is walking distant to main ubud area, the driveway does have a big hill. Staff were friendly and aircon was good. Wifi worked well. Pool was lovely and relaxing
Breakfast was great & the service was good
We just love the view and the pool and the staff!
Perfect
Bucu View is an absolutely wonderful place to stay in Ubud. It's right off one of the main streets in the cute town, yet in a world of its own - quiet except for birds and animals, and really beautiful. The room was clean and comfortable, the pool and scenery were gorgeous, breakfast was good, and most of all Ayu is incredibly warm and hospitable, and willing to help. I only stayed for two days but would love to return one day and stay for much longer. Thank you!
Ubud-special place
Loved our stay, room was massive, separate shower was huge, freestanding bath in bathroom area, room was very well decorated with nice mirrors and pictures, view from room was nice little stream, green, pool was nice size, pool towels are provided and soft and excellent condition. Breakfast was lovely, fruit and either juice or tea, coffee then had choice of cooked breki we had scrambled egg on toast which was yummy and plenty, then toast. Area was great so close to central ubud but away so had peace and tranquility. Mother (55) and two daughters (30)) and (21) highly recommend

I really enjoy the quiet serenity, the well maintained beautiful gardens. I felt I was in a private paradise. The welcome day with the beautiful flowers on the bed and the pillows was an added delight. The view from my room to the gardens was spectacular. I sat on the balcony and took in the sweet aroma of the fowers growing in the garden. The pools liked inviting.
