Average in most aspects
Spacious room, large bed. Modern bathroom. Average in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. Irregular room service. Parking can be difficult on weekends.
It was OK
The Hotel is best described as functional, O wouldn't book it for more than 1 night maybe 2 at an absolute push. It's pretty dated and dilapidated however it's a good location for the TECA P&J live
There is a few fire doors broken and service voids open this is a fire hazard for a hotel that’s has a fire in the past this is a concern
Rooms red hot with no windows this must be a safety matter, tv not working the staff were really helpful but the rooms are terrible it’s not there fault
Ok for overnight
Arrived late reception was difficult to find area quite rundown
Poor experience in so many ways
Good budget hotel with good food and good staff.
Nice hotel, friendly staff, room was nice, great breakfast, only downside was bed was too hard
Avoid
We were told that dinner was available until 8pm, quickly changed to 7.30pm. We came down at 6:45pm to be told that the kitchen had closed and the chef gone home. Staff were arguing over who's job it was to tell us. In the morning after showering my husband opened his towel to find it covered in what we hope were iron stains.
The area surrounding the hotel let it down and it was hard to find parking
Co to kuper
The faulty extract fan most probably on the roof over the room 201 cases the noise in the room being unacceptable and impossible to sleep. The noise levels are above comfort and healthy limits. Additionally it is anoying that hotels knows about the problem and still they accomodate people in the room. On a positive - hotel agreed to refund the night. Sadly discomfort following the high levels of noise, and lack of proper rest cannot be compansated.
The hotel was really dated, and really not comfortable
The que's for dining long, not organisation.
It’s a Britannia, they are the same really, clean, dated food value
Not a lot of hotels have a full sized tub to relax in. The restaurant meal options were quite good for the cost. Staff was friendly, room was clean, price was affordable
Very poor
I have stayed in a lot of hotels, & lots in Aberdeen in my job , but this hotel has to be one off the worsted. Not clean very dated, No toiletries in the bathroom & the shower had no handle on it . The room had a few moths flying around & no headboard on the bed. I didn't take any pictures as i was up early .
Poor stay
Noise from other guests was terrible drunken people walking around at 1.15am talking and laughing. Then they had there tv on loud till gone 3am. Staff had little knowledge of the area when i ask for restaurants or bars in the area
Great for short stay
Was nice, nothing fancy but didn't need it to be. Good location for events at the P&J
The shower was excellent. And the bed was comfortable. However, there was no toilet brush, no teaspoons, no free WiFi. Lady at the desk was curt and unwelcoming. The bedside lamp was cracked and ready to fall to pieces, half the buttons on the TV remote didn’t work. Cover missing from the tv remote .No extract in the bathroom, so everything fogs up. I understand you got what you pay for, and maybe I expected better. Won’t be going back there anytime soon.
Lovely hotel & staff
Lovely hotel and staff, clean and really quiet , no struggle for parking , would recommend ☺️
the hotel is a little tired BUT clean a good breakfast starts at 07:00 and a three course meal for £16.00 free parking close to the airport and and just so much cheaper than all the others and the other hotels wanted £15 per day parking all in all a good stay and would definitely stay there again
Good value for money
Lovely staff, lovely food. Hotel is nice for the price but the beds are very hard. Would stay again as it is very good value for money
Noisy
Fire alarm went off twice in the night. Walls paper thin. At one point I thought someone was in my room or was that bad.
Boxing day offer.
Stayed boxing day.very convienent as family stays round corner. Very good offer.
A lot of hair in the bed upon arrival in the room.
i have stayed often and always a good service
Place stank of grass, room was full of stains and the chairs were broken. Place is getting worse
Stayed 4 nights. Was told at check in, room would not be cleaned throughout my stay. Why not? We are not in lockdown anymore
Filthy tired worn out hostel
The food was lovely and stagf very helfull but could soing with some work done in the rooms and building
1 night stay
Very helpful staff.Good evening meal. Breakfast a bit iffy. Juice machine and toaster not switched on within the self service area. Wifi dropped on and off
Received an upgrade due to plumbing issues in room allocated.
The worst hotel I have stayed in. Filthy, dated and damaged rooms
Cheap and cheerful
The bed and pillow were uncomfortable. To add injury to insult, it’s on a flight path so it’s very noisy. Also we stayed for 3days and no-one changed our towels, toiletries or emptied our bin. So service was non existent. Other than that, it was too bad, just a bit dated
Dismal, outdated hotel
This has to be one of the most dismal hotels I’ve ever stayed in. It is incredibly dated and not in a good state of repair. Stained sheets, burns on the carpet, dangerously damaged remote for the TV (back hanging off and damaged batteries inside), bedside light broken, all brown. The smell of the dining room was school dinners in the 1970s.
Everything was good, will be back one day again , thank you . Nice hotel , I wish restaurant not close 8pm and work longer …
I booked a cheap room that said it had no window so I wasn't expecting much. The building looked shabby. However there was a large, albeit busy, carpark. A busy lobby, but an efficient and friendly girl behind the desk. A long walk down many corridors to find a surprisingly nice room. Clean, spacious well supplied with a good bathroom and a window! All basic facilities but good value for money.
Good
Got peace
Good staff, horrible dinghy dated place
Reception, the staff and food are spot on, however when you leave the reception area it starts going to the dogs… Got in my room, I’d booked a standard double with a window (yes that’s an option) and got in my room to find it’s unbelievably dated, dark & quite frankly a bit smelly.. The “double bed” was infact 2 single mattresses put together, the bed sheet didn’t fit the so called double bed, the duvet cover had rips in it and the duvet didn’t even fit inside the duvet cover… it was like a double duvet inside a kingsize cover, so loads just flapping about. Noticed the net curtains on the windows were absolutely filthy with black dirty bits all over them. The mattresses are most definitely of the cheapest quality of the spring kind as you can feel the springs every time you move.
The lady in the restaurant area was excellent. She couldn’t do enough for me even exchanging an old egg for a new soft one 😊. I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 day stay.
Toilet seat broken and traces of mystery liquid in hinge. No heating in room, radiator not working. No ventilation in room other than cool flow from ceiling vent, which had no means of control.
Hotel
Hotel was good for the money food was amazing with big portions
Lovely stay
A very pleasant stay staff were excellent and very professional and helpful and provided a good relaxing environment to enable you to chill
Unfortunately the only things that let it down for me was the hardness of the beds. Staff were helpful. Only 2 minutes to the AECC so handy.
Fair but clean.
Bed cover had a hole in it. Lamp shade had paint on it. Remote for TV was wrong remote. Overall was fairly clean and no bugs. Had to ask for extra pillows as only 3 in double room.
Internet is unavaible in the rooms only if the customer pay a fee per day. To access internet, you must stay in public areas. Reception service was horrible.
Affordable
Hotel was affordable, fine big room. It's very obviously and old place needing some TLC but it served it's purpose.
Value for money. Get what you’re paid for .
Great first impressions clean roomy entrance staff friendly room was great nice and big with plenty of light from window nice and warm.Found the whole hotel to be spotless including the lift. Breakfast could do with some guidance as there was no staff around to explain how to get a cooked breakfast cutlery kept on the bar not the buffet area strange
Rooms need updated.
.
Nice hotel in a very quiet area with spacious rooms. Local pub, Lidl, McDonalds around - you wouldn't need anything else for a short stay.
Worth every penny
Great pub atmosphere and very friendly
This was our second stay was upgrade to another room because of my health , the staff were great especially the barman Alan he did his job and more xx price wise good value , will be back again .
excellent food and helpful staff.intend to stay again on later date
the staff really nice and welcoming, food brilliant. room clean bathroom clean . helpful stay again . o yes and will be coming back soon k b lyon
Worst experience
Worst experience. There was no body wash, water leakage in the bathroom. No heater working in cold atmosphere. No any responsible person. No proper bed. There are used towels. Never go for this hotel.
heavy horse show
all was good no complaints
Last resort hotel
Receptionist was rude, hotel is dated, doesn’t feel clean. Charged an extortionate price, more than three times the normal rate due to a conference in Aberdeen.I understand this is a budget hotel but don’t rip people off. I only stayed as a last resort.
Very warm welcome and friendly/helpful staff. Excellent value for money.
Okay for a cheap stay.
Okay for a cheap stay but quality in rooms very poor and in need of updating. I did not eat in the hotel so cant comment on this. The reception staff were very friendly but the hotel itself requires a lot of updating. Room was quite cold also.
Dated, but convenient for P & J Live
I had booked an executive room containing 2 double beds for 2 of us, but the receptionist downgraded us as the room we had booked was for a family of 4 and there were only 2 of us (and a dog)! She wanted to give us 2 singles, but she didn't have any, so we ended up in a double and single. Unfortunately when it came to bedtime we found the single bed had a broken leg so it was squint. Went to reception and were given another room with a double and single in it. The furniture in the rooms may be old, but are lovely and characterful. The bathroom could do with being finished. A couple of slats in the bathroom vent were broken and were stuffed with paper; the tiles on the wall between the door and the bath were missing and the bath tap had been replaced, but the tap doesn't fit the hole so there was a gap - guess where the shower water will go? It is a shame the Hotel a bit dated, but for the price we paid, it was ok for the 1 night. It is in a great location near the bus stop to the city centre and to get to and from P & J Live. Free parking is also a bonus.
Really helpfull and friendly staff.
Comfortable room. Good value. Hotel is very tired and needs investment. Buffet breakfast is average. Dinner limited to buffet as coach tours were staying so went out for take away. Staff generally grumpy.
Sticking with travelodge.
Stayed in standard double room. Room was boiling on arrival as heating was on high and room only had small window which was shut. Despite fan in room on full for 5 hours room was still hoching hot at 01:00. Tv channel list needs updating, many channels unavailable. Food was average at best (hot buffet, limited options). 1 x socket in room hanging off wall, 1 bedside lamp with loose connection. Plenty tea, coffee milk and sugar provided in rooms. Bed comfortable. Aircraft noise audible from airport nearby. Staff friendly, helpfull and efficient.
Was only a place to get a night sleep but very dissapointed after travelling 7 hours to be told the restaurant had just closed at 7.30pm and no other food was available
The only good thing was clean towels and sheets
Had an excellent stay. Excellent position for what we wanted. Buffet was very good. Will be going back and staying again
Total dive i wouldnt even wouldnt put assylum seeker's in it it burnt diwn a few years back looks like they should have burnt it agdin yo improve it
The property was decent as I was traveling for work however it says there is free wifi however wifi is infect £7 per night. Over all the stay was good but the shower was dirty
Nice Hotel
Excellent staff, plenty of parking
It suits my needs during work.
I stay here regularly. Good value but each visit is different. Some rooms are fine some are not. Some staff are grumpy some are friendly. Its ok for a business trip every few weeks.
Its clean and comfortable well worth the money will be going there again
Worst hotel I have stayed in
This hotel was the worst that I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in lots of hotels l. I don't think my room was ever cleaned from prevous resident. On the bedroon floor someone had left an iphone charger, there was no soap , shampoo and bodywash in the room. Luckly I had some with me,The staff were so rude. When got key for the room the member of staff said "through that door there and you will find it" The noise during the evening was terrible you heard everything from people laughing in other room, Even in the morning I asked for the Shampoo and stuff they said that they had none to give me, They also said that I couldn't add breakfast to bill, At check out they weren't interested in me putting a complaint by saying what can I do about it...Very little customer service and will definitely not be back
Good value. Hotel is very tired. No shower curtain but briken rail. Bedroom curtains falling off the rail. Grumpy staff. Bar food is ok in evening. Hot breakfast not buffet but made to order though still arrived cold.
Detrimental to health
Very terrible bad for my health, every morning wake up with stuffy nose and bites on my body. Absolutely terrible, and hell bound hotel.
Smell
Moved rooms about 3 times so mouldy damp and smelly
Good stay
Great and staff very helpful and friendly
Budget hotel don't expect the Ritz
Hotel and the rooms need updating, beds were comfy and clean. Room was outdated with cigarette burns and a big iron burn on the carpet. Seemed to be a lot of workers staying in the hotel, probably because the rates are so cheap. Staff were lovely and very helpful. You get what you pay for with this hotel ,budget prices for a budget room .
We had a lovely stay, friendly welcoming staff, the hotel overall was clean and tidy, our room was lovely, had everything we needed and was very comfortable
Place was old , tired ,dirty
The staff is the only positive.
The only good thing about this hotel is the staff. The staff were friendly and happy to help. The shower wouldnt work, it was either scaulding or freezing cold. The building is a dump
Beds fell apart very rowdy guest room smelled
The worst experience
Honestly, it was the worst hotel I satyed in. Everything was bad even the way of checkout, they went into my room without any permission
A cheap and cheerful hotel with good food albeit a limited menu. A good sized room but poorly serviced and maintained
Cheap and Cheerful
Good value for money, shame you have to pay for Internet.
Tired decoration needing sine TLC. Internet charge is per device so costly if more than 1 person staying. Found food under chair, duvet was stained abd bottom sheet was not big enough to cover mattress
Dated and not worth what we paid unfortunately
Staff was nice but very dated hotel, not somewhere if go again but as I said staff was nice. Can be a lovely hotel if it was renovated as it’s in such a lovely place to get to things around Aberdeen. Bedding was torn it was just old and shabby. Sofas in reception are awful i wouldn’t sit on the brown one to the right as you go in door it’s not suitable for a reception. Hope someone can do something with this hotel as it’s got potential.
Nice clean hotel, excellent room for price.
hotel a bit dated. Clean enough. Breakfast a bit odd. Buffet style but had to search for a member of staff to order hot food
Room was recently decorated
Room was very modern , looked recently decorated , only down point was no remote for TV , bin wasn't emptied before my stay , the inside lock didn't lock the room door , only the door could get open from the outside of you had a key card
The room was dirty, with dirty towels, the was no plug for the bath & the shower was over the bath & I am disabled, when I booked my room it stated it had a shower only but that was not the case.it was a bathroom with shower over the bath, and because I am disabled & have server mobility issues, I slipped in the bath and hurt my right hip, when I told staff they did nothing . So now awaiting for a call back from the head manager off hotel.
Safe and traditional
Nice clean friendly place lovely staff
Value for money
Good value for £29 per night ,only stayed one night but would certainly stay longer ,typical Brittania hotel large room slightly dated but nothing wrong with it ,£3.30 for a pint of lager and £3 for a malt whisky is certainly good value ,i will have no hesitation in returning
nil
Cheap
Good place to stay be for going away to work
Hotel was handy for my hospital visits and very reasonably priced.
