Fabulous hotel. Staffare excellent. The manager so very helpful and very nice. The restaurant is excellent.
Very friendly staff. Extremely clean property. my room was very large and very clean. Will definitely stay here again, but I’m in the city
Lyon hotel
The hotel is lovely. The rooms are comfortable. The location is central and easy to get around.
Rooms are spacious enough but not comfortable, especially bathtub. Nice location, walkable from almost any Lyonise site. Service is not attentive at all, just don’t care about yiur stay and comfort. Restaurant serves poor italian food for dinner, better seek for other options
Had an amazing 5 night stay at the hotel. The interior is beautiful and clean. Our stay coincided with my girlfriend's 30th birthday and the staff went above and beyond to make the day special for her. The spa facilities are also great and the staff were very attentive and welcoming. The hotel is in an ideal location and great for shopping and proximity to restaurants. I can't recommend the hotel enough 10/10.
Great location, great spa.
Great location and why we picked the Boscolo. The spa was great, we enjoyed our treatment. But overall the hotel is a bit short of a 5 star despite what looked like a recent remodeling. Large salon under the central veranda does not have a bar. Drinks are served from the italian restaurant next door. With some greenery and more comfortable seats, this large and empty sitting area could be more enjoyable and even become a place where people like to gather in the evening. Instead, it's a bit like a hospital waiting area, and it smells like chlorine from the spa down below. As far as the bedroom is concerned, it is total silence thanks to a great sound proofing. But no smart TV / no apps and only french public/free channels. Not sure what they tried to do with the tablet called the SuitePad but it is pretty much useless. If you want to order anything, you are better off calling the reception. Not a bad hotel overall but it may be lacking a soul.
Very nice hotel with high standard and with a perfect location.
Amazing hotel and restaurant in Lyon center
Exceptional quality hotel in the center of Lyon with easy walking to most attractions and necessities. Helpful staff and the most amazing restaurant.
Very nice 4 days stay overall
Great modern property walking distance from the main shopping area and the old city. Rooms are of great size, especially for European standards. Would definitely stay there again.
In general, everything was fine. Only 2 things. I went down to the spa and there were a lot of people and noise. The room sometimes smelled bad.
Great stay, and fantastic service, we really loved Lyon the location of the hotel is great parking easy and a lot of shopping around, staff is wonderful
So-so
Pricey disappointment
The room was spacious and comfortable, but a little loud from neighbors above and from street traffic. Breakfast was excellent, although service was chaotic, especially at peak times - we had to wait 15 minutes one morning to order coffee (no coffee makers available for guest use). WiFi in our room was horrendous, worst in any hotel we’ve seen in all the years since hotels started providing WiFi. Connection might last 30 seconds, then service would cut out for several minutes. We asked about it three times, to no avail. WiFi was fine in the lobby, which tells me the problem is with the network repeaters near our room. Bottom line is, if good WiFi is important to you, pick another hotel. Second problem was the “aperitivo italiano” by the hotel’s Italian restaurant. In Italy, aperitivo means that small bites are included in the price of a drink. I verified this with the desk staff before going. But at the bar, for 18 euros each we got a glass full of ice with a few sips of liquor, then were told that snacks were only available by order, at hefty prices. The elevator sign bragged about plates full of tapas, but that was a fiction. My advice: skip the ripoff - there are PLENTY of great bars, cafes and restaurants in Lyon.
The hotel team did all they could to ensure a nice and enjoyable stay for us. We stayed in the hotel almost two weeks and everything the hotel team did, was fantastic! We greatly enjoyed everything.
Everything about this hotel was fantastic. Staff, rooms, location, service, everything. Highly recommended
.
We liked Boscolo Hotel. It is a nice hotel and the room was nice. The location is good too. The staff are friendly and receptive at check in. But I wouldn’t say this is a five star hotel and we didn’t feel like we got exceptional service or anything. We sat in the big lounge for about 20 min and no body came to take our drink order so we left. So good location, nice rooms but not what I would call 5 star.
Spacious room, nice little Juliette balcony, good spa in the basement. Sunday buffet brunch was a ripoff - €39 with the limits of one entree and one hot beverage, no mimosas and only 5 choices for an entree, one of which was a fried egg and bacon. But most everything is closed on Sunday, am for sure, so there aren't a lot of other options.
Beautiful hotel in an excellent location close to restaurants, shopping and tourist attractions. Our room was very nice with a comfortable bed, 2 sets of French doors and a huge shower. The staff of this hotel were all very nice as well.
Excellent staffing, very professional.
The staff was polite and courteous. This hotel is lovely, clean and very comfortable (especially the beds). We would stay here again.
So happy we chose this hotel. Sooo close to shopping and restaurants. Easy 10-15 min walk to Old Town. Staff are very helpful and attentive. Room was absolutely perfect-spacious, lots of room to walk around, shower and bathroom separate, beds very comfortable. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiying Lyon
Loved the room & its decor! Also loved that the toilet, vanity and shower are in separate areas! Nice that they had water infused with flavors but it wasn’t always there so we missed it when we came back thirsty in the evening.
It deserves its 5 star rating
The pool and spa were excellent. Open 9am to 9pm we were able to use it each day. Overall, really nice property
Normally staying at Bosocolo is a pleasure. This time our room on the 6th floor was terrible. One tiny window, it was dark. Far too high a price for such a room.
The only issue we had was with the bed configuration. We requested 2 beds at the time of our reservation and 3 days before I received a phone call in Italy to tell me that was not possible. The woman who called said she could not hear when I said that was not satisfactory and she hung up. Thank goodness for the concierge, Mathilde.
The room was beautiful. The staff were gracious and very helpful. Excellent breakfast. Would come again
We loved the location of this hotel since you could easily walk around the lovely town and it is right across from the river... so an excellent location. It felt very safe and is clearly a nice hotel. There was an interesting pool in the basement that was very serene as part of their spa. But otherwise I'm not sure I'd stay here again. It was a bit uptight and had an unusual decor in the rooms... Petite Prince on the closet, Naked statue photo on the wall and a gold lion head on the bathroom door. We also thought our "balcony" would be more usable, since we paid extra for it. But the street noise was too loud and the balcony size and large doors didn't quite allow it.
Nice stay! The hotel is in a good location for walking to restaurants and shopping. There was noise from the road and on the weekend from late night drunk people. I would not recommend the hotel breakfast. Great views of the river. AC was helpful for the heat.
It was absolutely stunning
The bartender at the bar in the evening was absolutely wonderful. His drinks were excellent. They were as good as some of the high end cocktail bars we've been to. He is very knowledgeable as well. It was a real treat. All of the staff was friendly. Our upgraded room large and lovely.
The staff was very helpful and nice. The location was great and acccesable to everything.
All was excellent.
Gorgeous property with top rate staff and service. Perfectly located close to restaurants, monuments and shopping.
drugs, lovely property in a very convenient area. The mass transit around is excellent close to all the main tourist attractions. The room was wonderful.
Loved the Grotto pool and free chocolates and bottle water distributed by staff.
Wonderful hotel!!
Elegant and beautiful hotel. Very nice staff. Good restaurant downstairs
Great
Chic modern hotel situated st the heart of the old city of Lyon, perfect comfortable, Italian hotel.
First time in Lyon and we had a wonderful visit. Hotel is very nice and updated. Staff is very helpful despite our limited French skills. It’s on a busier road next to river and bridge but well insulated from any bothersome noises. Excellent for walking to restaurants and shops
Beautifully designed and decorated space. Only negative was the somewhat awkward format of the restaurant and bar area. They should make better use of the large and beautiful skylit lounge area as a bar or for breakfast
Beautiful hotel. Newly remodeled in its entirety. Great staff and excellent restaurant.
Great hotel well situated in Lyon.
We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The room was very clean and there were lots of amenities that made our stay more comfortable. The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable– they even had a specific desk for information about the Taylor Swift concert :). It’s in an ideal location to get around Lyon and everything we wanted to do was within walking distance, but the public transportation is easy to reach too. Highly recommend.
This is truly a 5 star experience. I loved the pool and sauna after the massage. It is close to many of the attractions and shopping areas. Loved it.
Large suite. Oddities are spa and property unresponsive with problems with final bill
Great service and location in Lyon!
We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Boscolo though we didn’t view or use the spa or eat dinner in their restaurant D’Angelo. The room was spacious and light (Executive River view) with a Lavazza coffee maker and kettle etc. Location-wise the hotel is in a great place to access all of Vieux Lyon easily - so many shops restaurants as well as historic and cultural sights. In general the hotel seemed more Italian than French and that it lacked a comfortable French charm. The breakfast was well worth the €30 - a lot of choice of cold and hot foods - and it left us well set up for the rest of the day!
Great location
Our room, the common areas, staff, and breakfast buffet all very nice. The odd location of lights around the bathroom was, however, annoying.
Everything was amazing !
Great hotel choice in the center of Lyon
Great hotel choice in the center of Lyon. Recently refurbished large rooms, great spa, fantastic location. Only point of improvement could be the speed of service at breakfast - the hotel seemed under-staffed and having coffee or bread to arrive 5-10 minutes after ordering it does spoil a bit the breakfast experience.
Excellent staff at every moment of service. Dinner, check in & out, breakfast and parking. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.
Amazing location Beautiful room
An amazing value for the money and staff extremely well trained and customers’ oriented.
Beautiful hotel located in the heart of Lyon.
Great hotel, lack of flexibility around stay.
Hotel staff made us feel awful for having booked with hotels.com instead of them directly. Awful. Awful. Showed complete lack of flexibility when we dealt with a major family illness and forced us to go that night .. we were only asking to postpone one night and they confirmed they had plenty of space. Told us they could have accommodated us if we had not used you, and outside agency. Then made sure they told us we could reserve the spa only for an hour, a strict hour. Point. Absolutely awful, very stressful, made us feel bad, treatment on the phone by the agent entrusted with the front desk. Then, when we arrived, great reception, great room, overpriced but solid bar, excellent spa. Too bad the hotel staff made us feel like low life before we went.
The property itself is great, beautiful, pure. However the least you’d expect from a 5-star property is friendly, helpful and organised staff. We may have been unlucky but got disappointed with the tone at check-in to tell us we were early, the 10 min wait-time for breakfast when the place dis not look full at all, and 25min wait to get our car back after paying 40 euros for valet service. Staff was overwhelmed or just poorly organised. Regardless I’ll not come back to this one.
nice staff. Spacious room.
Okay, not great.
Cleanliness not great, especially in terms of the spa. Had a free room upgrade if available with my Platinum status on Hotels.com. Instead they offered me to pay for an upgrade and did not offer me the free upgrade.
Beautiful hotel in excellent location, easy walking distance to many different visitor areas. Had an executive room which was a large room with fabulous river views. Excellent breakfast, great quality produce. Did not have dinner in hotel only because so many other restaurant choices in Lyon. The spa is lovely, great to relax in after a busy day. Highly recommend.
The staff was excellent front desk Diana Restaurant /bar Julien, Fab et Adrien Spa Clara
This is a well-maintained clean hotel in an excellent location in Lyon. The design is a bit dated and ergonomics were missed... some examples: no hooks for towels, small closet in a relatively big room, etc. Five-star should not be about a bathrobe & slipper; this place could not come close to my expectations based on my other five-star experiences. It's a very nice and clean hotel with friendly staff; it's just not 5-star per my opinion. One funny thing is that they kept sending me emails in French (only French) even when I had reserved through the US website and mentioned that I did not speak the language. Thanks chatGPT!
Very helpful staff
Parfait
Tout etait parfait.
great hotel
we enjoyed our stay in Boscolo Lyon hotel , the location is great and very convenient for walking around .
Excellent location, staff brilliant, view of river and surroundings made it a great place to stay
6 days in Lyon
Boscolo is a very nice hotel on the banks of river Rhône. The front desk was very helpful and friendly, especially Diana. Initially I got a room on the top floor but it didn’t work for me due to small attic windows. Diana and her colleague were able to quickly move me to a much nicer room with large windows overlooking the river and the bridge. The hotel is very centrally located. Most tours leave from a square 5 min walk away. I tried their buffet breakfast once but it was just ok. Many better places to eat around. I’d definitely stay again.
we travel extensively to most countries- interior design and service were excellent and impressive.
Great hotel!!
Beautiful rooms very spacious, clean . The bathroom and shower area are premium in size and quality . The decor and first floor are beautiful. Minor comment, you should offer more availability in the room fridge.
Good location, clean and spacious room, quiet even though it was on the street side. Very nice and helpful staff.
Beautiful hotel in a great location. The jr. suite was large and very well appointed. Dinner was excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel.
such a comfortable well located hotel, spacious, clean and well-equipped room. . Pool and hamman a great inclusion. Front desk staff so helpful. thank you. Wouldn't bother about the breakfast/brunch though - bit tired and uninspired. But yes, I would go back - absolutely
Lovely hotel, good sized rooms, excellent staff
Very clean, modern. Very nice room. Excellent location.
Overall it was a nice stay, made better by lovely staff and bigger than expected room. Unfortunately though the hotel had been overrun by delegates on a big conference. Could not use the bar and dining options were average. Otherwise, great location though but overall didn't feel very French.
A wonderful, classy hotel. The rooms are large and the spa is just lovely. Great location. Great bathrooms in the room. Would highly reccomend. We very much appreciated the welcome drink upon arrival and the complimentary upgrade as per the vip platinum perk.
Lovely but felt a bit flat, like none of the staff really wanted to be there.
Very convenient location, walkable to most attractions. Clean, friendly staff, sizable rooms, good view.
Staff were very accommodating . Room met our expectations. We loved the location. Would highly recommend this hotel.
It was great
Beautiful hotel Beautiful service
Very friendly staff and very clean rooms with all the requirements (good A/C, nice bed, good shower pressure, etc). Perfect location for walking around Lyon.
Great location, beautiful decor, very friendly and professional staff. The only minor issue we had was that the rooms smelled of cigarette smoke. It appears that the hotel allows smoking in the rooms and so no amount of cleaning will get rid if that.
I have stayed at Boscolo hotels in the past and this location did not compare to that. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, Rooms were a good size, storage space not enough, breakfast was very limited and just ok even though the staff running it were great. Location was good, however I wish we had a higher floor because the traffic noise was annoying. overall was good but did not get the VIP access and room upgrade as was expected by booking through expedia.
Very classy property. Good location. Nice room and very good bed. Clean and staff very helpful. Would recommend and will stay again.
The property is centrally located. The front desk and restaurant personnel are rude and the service they provide is terrible. The room smells like sewer, the ceiling was leaking, and the lights went off constantly. On a positive note, they welcomed us with a bottle of champagne. The decorations are very classy. I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again
An exclusive hotel that should have better staff.
It was an ok stay, but nothing special. we like the location
Location is excellent. Our room was very spacious and full of light. We didn’t use the spa, so we can’t comment on it
Very peaceful and relaxing spa/hotel. We were amazed with every aspect from room to reception. I highly recommend this hotel for taking a break
Clean hotel and lovely staff
Mediocre hotel but good location
The hotel is in a great location. Unfortunately my trip was somewhat marred by the fact I ripped a brand new top on the ridiculously oversized door handles with pointy bits on!! Another point to note is the breakfast is not worth the money at all. I would save your money and just order off the menu. As a guest with breakfast included it would have been nice to just pay a supplement rather than have to pay the full cost!
Comfortable, clean and spacious rooms in Lyon. Good area to walk and not too far from Vieux Lyon.
Beautiful but impractical- uncomfortable
The rooms look nice but are not practical at all: there is only one place to hang towels, which is by the toilet in a room that has very little ventilation. So the first time towels were used, they were hung and the next morning totally damp. Water leaked out from underneath the shower door, causing a wet sink area, more wet towels and a hazzard. The hotel is nicely located next to the river and town.
Bathroom is not noise-isolated from the room, sink is inside. We had to change room twice, second was due to adjoining doors with neighbour rooms which was impossible given not only loud children but full absence of noise isolation between those rooms. Thanks Danny for excellent recommendations for NY eve place and booking it. Gym is nothing - no barbells, no heavy dumbbells, very overpriced spa. Overall - overpriced place, but nice and location is great for historical sightseeing
