Absolutely top notch place. Everything wonderful. Couldnt fault it. Will definitely stay again. So convenient for Bluebridge ferry (as well as the centre).
Excellent relaxing stay
A very relaxed and comfortable stay. The Bolton offered us quiet and excellent accommodation The suite was very lovely. The kitchen was well set up and had everything required. I was amazed to see a washing machine and dryer although we did not use this. Room service was quick; efficient and a very good range of food offered. The leisure centre had a pool and spa that we thoroughly enjoyed. A perfect hotel for a relaxing holiday in Wellington.
My wife and I recently stayed at the Bolton Hotel in Wellington and had a great experience. Our suite was clean, spacious, and very well equipped, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The service throughout our visit was texcellent—staff were friendly and attentive and helpful. We also had the opportunity to dine at the hotel restaurant, which served very good food. Although the prices were on the expensive side. Location-wise, the hotel is ideally placed. It's a short stroll to the beautiful Botanic Gardens and Zealandia, with the waterfront just a 20-minute walk away, making it a great base for exploring the city. Overall, we would definitely stay again if visiting Wellington.
Lovely hotel. Excellent staff. Great location
Beautiful spacious rooms, great amenities, fantastic staff. Close to everything one might need, great location, very quiet.
Never got there due to 2 flights being cancelled from frog 2 days in a row. when called on both days to give update and try and sort something out but guy was not helpfull at all and didnt want to know about it.
The Bolton was absolutely lovely! The room was very well appointed. The staff were courteous and attentive, even though my husband and I were travel-worn. We enjoyed a dinner in the restaurant. The staff were delightful, and the food was amazing! The steak was particularly delicious. We also had a lovely quick breakfast and coffee at the front door cafe. The location is great - Uber drivers and your companies were instantly familiar with the building. There is a lovely historic cemetery and church across the street. Be warned, many of the coffee, shops, and restaurants seem to be "weekday only", though I'm sure the Bolton staff can point you in the right direction, and you can't go wrong at the in house eateries.
Good hotel in a convenient location. Able to walk to eateries, shops etc. Good size room with everything we needed for our Three night stay in Wellington.
I really loved this place - very nice and comfortable - a perfect place to stay in downtown Wellington. We enjoyed walking to restaurants and shops and through the botanical gardens.
Comfort of room, choice of menu, helpful staff
Great place to stay
Easy access to waking and exploring the Botanical Garden and Bolton cemetery.
Big, spacious room. Amazing view from room window. Good service. Decor a little old fashioned. Hotel location somewhat out at the edge of the city centre.
Lovely place to stay, everyone was friendly and helpful, thank you
Nice hotel and great location
Expansive room with good amenities. Staff were particularly friendly and solicitous. Some ongoing construction involving the hotel entrance posed a bit of a challenge in finding the direction of the car entry. Overall, excellent value.
Great access to the Botanical Gardens. A good loop walking tour is to walk along to the cable car. Take it up to the top and then explore the museum, and various trails and gardens back down to the Hotel through the old cemetery.
Perfect location for a night in town away from the kids! Room was nicely presented and felt luxurious and modern.
Nice hotel with large rooms with all the needed facilities. It is in a great spot for coffee, restaurants and shopping.
Bolton is a very central location to stay and is a lovely smaller hotel with great service from the team and a quiet bar and restaurant on the 2nd floor.
The hotel is very dated. We expected much better for a 5 star hotel.
Peaceful, friendly staff, efficient check in and out, ice bucket only took minutes to arrive. We will be back again.
Super retro place. Very nice room
Really lovely hotel with little touches that add to the comfort, ie robes and slippers. My son and I enjoyed the facilities (pool, spa and gym). The rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. Yummy food on offer. Easy to wander Wellington city from the hotel’s location. A lovely place to stay on our holiday.
Lovely place to stay, walkable to town and great facilities with sauna, pool and spa! Throughly enjoyed our weekend away!
The staffs are very welcoming and accommodating. The in-room coffee is great. The in-suite laundry is a plus. It’s located just across the street from the parliament - very convenient. Need to pre booking for valet since it’s hard to park in downtown.
Good property to stay at.
Contacted about parking before visit. Said it was limited so they’d reserve us a space. Really friendly staff, walkable to wharf (best restaurant on wharf called Dockside. Great food, view, and a fireplace!)
Thank you for the great stay!
Amazing stay
Amazing - we loved it. We were given an upgrade to a junior suite. Beautiful room, great location close to lots of eateries & shops.
Good solid stay. Rooms are good and walkable to mid town.
Great Overnighter
Great location, easy to find, easy to park, welcome on arrival, nice big room overlooking the gardens and central location
Beds need new mattress squeaked otherwise couldn’t fault the hotel Pool and spa a plus
Beautiful Stay
Very accommodating and professional. The staff was very friendly and a good host.
All good
Great overall stay only negative was that the WiFi was so slow that it was unusable
Lovely escape in the city. Staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was clean and comfortable. We would stay again
Well maintained property, friendly stuff.
Great location within walking distance to what we wanted. Good staff. Clean. Nice kitchen area and sitting area.
.
Kind staff, great location, but very average facilities
Having the kitchen was an added bonus and the pool was a big hit!
Facilities were great. Pool sauna spa and gym were great, for sporty couples like us.
Fridge was warm and milk off
Modern and clean with very attentive staff. Near Botanic Gardens.
We stay at the Bolton multiple times a year and always have a fantastic stay. The rooms and food are great, but it’s the staff and the way they always make our family feel at home that keeps us coming back.
Everything was good but the lack of car park was a bit minor issue.
Amazing facilities and Great staff. Harsh who was at the reception was lovely and very welcoming. WHelped with all the information and the housekeeping services were really good. Spcaious property with the kitchen and ammenities were too good and well maintained.
Lovely sized room with seating area and kitchen. Spa, sauna and pool were great additions to our relaxing weekend. Staff were friendly and helpful.
We loved our stay at Bolton Hotel. Our room was gorgeous and all the staff super lovely. The fitness centre with lap pool, spa ans sauna was fantastic and the bowl of fresh fruit, a really nice touch. Totally recommend!
Lovely hotel. Staff were excellent. I'd stay there again
I recently stayed at Bolton, an upmarket hotel with many appealing features. The rooms were spacious, elegantly decorated, and offered good views. The amenities were top-notch, providing a luxurious experience. However, there were a couple of drawbacks. The WiFi was disappointingly slow, which was frustrating for both work and leisure purposes. Additionally, while the staff were professional and attentive, the service felt overly formal, lacking the warmth and personal touch that makes a stay truly memorable. Despite these issues, the overall experience was pleasant, and the hotel’s prime location and beautiful surroundings made it a worthwhile stay. For those who prioritize luxury and elegance, Bolton is a solid choice.
Front desk staff very friendly and helpful.
I had a view of a building site . Not what I expected .
Bolton Hotel is tucked away near a corner of the Terrace so all of down town Wellington is easily walkable. The hotel is decorated very tastefully. We had dinner and drinks in the restaurant and everything was delicious with pleasant service. The Concierge staff were wonderful helping us with our luggage and their car valet service. If I let them know we would be going out again in a short time they’d accommodate our car to make it easier and quicker for us. They were very thoughtful and extremely pleasant to deal with. Front desk staff were equally as good, but we dealt with them far less. We stayed three nights and will return in three months.
All OK
For the similar pricing this is by far the best 5 star hotel in NZ we have stayed in.
Really nicely appointed hotel, only 10min walk to TSB Arena. Only disappointment was the cafe only opened during weekdays.
Very quiet
Nice comfortable stay close to all amenities.
Great location, good room, just a little small
The location was good but the room was very small. It would have been fine if there had been more storage options. There was also very little closet space. Having said that, the staff was friendly and helpful and we made good use of the fridge. Good water pressure and no problems with getting anything to work. Good experience overall.
Hotel was close to everything. The room was really nice, great shower, really comfortable bed, and super clean. The staff were amazing. Really helpful and nothing was a problem. Would definitely recommend and will stay again.
A real home away from home plus much more
Water pressure not good
Great stay!
Staff 5 stars hotel is 4 star only due to age
Pleasant stay Staff were excellent and all ways helpful Plenty of cafes and restaurant near by
Room was great, food and drinks at the hotel restaurant were very good, but very small portion sizes for the price.
Awesome hotel. Location was great. Rooms were spacious and clean. Definitely recommend
It was a great stay, and good to be back after a couple of years!!!
Great place! If you want to walk into the city it’s a wee bit of a mission.
Great staff
The concierge staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great stay
It was a great place to stay. The front of house was also nice enough to upgrade our room. thw only cons were that the spa wasn't hot enough at the time and the buffet breakfast was quite limited.
Really nice leisure/corporate hotel. Liked the kitchenette. Very clean great housekeeping. Relaxing stay. Wish room had a bathtub and a work desk. Liked the window treatments. Helpful front desk. Good for 2 night stay.
Great service beautiful food enjoyable room. Kapai
Great hotel. Enjoyed our stay
Great location
We were on the 3rd floor which was great as the gym and pool was on our floor. The room had more amenities than I thought it would with the kitchenette which was cool. The location was great for us - handy to Lambton Quay and the University. I also found that I could park just outside the hotel for very limited cost.
Great staff- very accommodating, lovely property, nice stay.
Lovely room and very comfortable bed. For a city location it was very quiet. The staff are friendly and interested in you. Easy valet parking is really appreciated. Room service arrived quickly and was a good temperature. Already arranged to stay again😀
King premier studio - very spacious room, comfortable bed, good shower, and nice to have a small kitchenette. Staff were all very friendly, efficient, and helpful. Nice quiet area with just a short walk to the main shopping area. Definitely recommend.
Great service, room was amazing, great views, super comfy bed, very spacious.
Good location, pleasant staff and very nice, comfortable suite for two. 🙂
Just a great hotel with great service.
Always a good stay.
Such a great vibe. Nice food. Excellent service
We stay quite often at this location
Convenient location and friendly helpful staff
Lovely experience
My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Bolton for the weekend while we were visiting family in Wellington. It is a beautiful, clean, and modern hotel. Our room overlooked the cemetery next door, which rather than being morbid, provided a aesthetic and serene vista in the heart of the CBD. The room was clean and spacious, and the bathroom was modern. I will definitely be returning.
Good but not quite great.
Great location and helpful staff. Getting a bit tired now and the bar staff could do with a lesson in knowing what a 'flute of bubbles' looks like...no it's not a wine glass height fill!
Clean, modern, all in room facilities available. Smelt great! ie no cloying air freshener :)
Nice, clean and friendly hotel that’s very central. Good cafes in easy walking distance. I would happily stay again.
The room was very nice -had great amenities in our room. The staff were very helpful and friendly
The Bolton is tough to review. Very eclectic - wasn't quite my cup of tea but others may love it. The 70's vibe is alive and well here. Intentional - I think. Just look carefully at the photos and decide if it's for you.
Room was very very noisy with doors banging shut from very early morning Room 208A Seemed to be a door cleaners were using but wouldnt stay again and have to put up with that. Hotel and staff were all good but in the end of the day I arrived late and was banking on a good nights sleep which i didn't get.
A nice and well appointed hotel with comfortable rooms and great showers.
Great boutique hotel in perfect spot for CBD,Beehive, retail therapy. Great staff. Best steak for some time in the restaurant. Valet parking very well organised. Trouble-free 3 day stay.
The Bolton was the perfect place for our stay. An easy walk to the Wellington Stadium, waterfront restaurants and trains. The room is was spacious and quite with views towards to hills.
