The staff at the reception was ever so welcoming and helpful with tips for travelers. I really appreciated their assistance in helping with my laundry issues(no physical cash on me the first day)
Clean, but avoid if you don't smoke
The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. However they did not enforce quiet hours and people smoked under our window all night. Since there was no airflow aside from the window, we either had to sweat or listen to people talk all night and inhale their second hand smoke. The "smoking area" was right outside the front door of the hotel so we had to walk through it to get inside.
About an 8 minute walk to the metro
The hotel room was small but very clean and comfy. The staff was always helpful and friendly and the breakfast was very good. There's a train station at a walkable distance, which makes the location of the hotel very convenient.
Very basic for the price - no amenities in the room and very noisy air ventilation with no AC. Suitable for a one night stay but wouldn’t recommend for a longer period.
Great place. Delicious breakfast. But very noisy at night from bar?
Excellent staff really nice
Check in was friendly and kind - room was clean, stocked, and comfortable. Private parking was a real plus for us. We will stay here again next time.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff are some of the nicest people Iv ever met. All of them are courteous, helpful and friendly. Service is so fast and adaptable to our needs. All our questions and requests were answered. The rooms and the lobby area were very clean, easy to access by elevator and stairs. It's 10 mn walk to the metro but there's also a bus that takes you there directly if you don't want to walk. There's also some grocery shops and cafes 5 mn away. Note: this lemon and mint water at the entrance...yummyyy! :))) Thank you for an incredible stay and service!!
First time visited Munich with family and friends. This property was the best available choice when it comes to value for money. Breakfast was good , with multiple options available. Location is quite close to tram and metro in order to get to the center. Rooms have decent space and bathrooms are good. Some of the rooms have damages, which would be nice to be repaired eventually, just for cosmetic reasons. The staff in the reception is energetic and positive - would love to see a bit more professionalism when it comes to asking for recommendations on what to do/where to go, as it felt we were a bit discouraged. This will be our go-to hotel when in Munich! Thank you
The Bold Hotel is convenient when I visit my daughter and family. The staff are always friendly, the hotel is clean, pricing is affordable and the breakfasts are good value.
The building itself is in a great location and the main attraction was that the rooms had a kitchenette. It was also incredibly close to transit options including busses, trams and trains. The staff were also so kind and accommodating, helping us Canadians make it through our week in Münich. The only downside to the hotel was the lack of air conditioning. It was really difficult to sleep because of the heat, and the fan from the staff made a bit of a difference, but not as much as we'd hoped. Would definitely come back!
Property is very comfortable and very clean.Facilities are in good shape and staff was very attentive. Only disadvantage is the location is far from downtown and public transportation options are not so close from hotel.
Not worth it
The shower and toilets smell awful at night, pillows were uncomfortable and AC temp cannot be controlled - it was set on heating regardless of the lowest possible temp set. Both check in and out were not good due to staff who also initially accused me for eating breakfast for two ppl, while I didnt eat at all, when I'm even just one person. Good price tho
our room was located on the main floor right by the entrance, so we had to keep the blinds closed as everyone who entered/exited the building walked right by the huge windows with our bed on the other side. As a foreigner visting for the first time i felt very unsafe as the room had no safe and no phone meaning i had to keep my passport and money on hand at all times. there was no a/c and the pictures are deceiveing as most hostels i have stayed in are far nicer than this hotel
Too expensive
I payed € 420 for two nights two people, excluded breakfast. Nobody cleaned the bathroom. They only set up the bed.
Munich Bold Hotel Stay
Stay was very nice! Although a bit far from city center, train station. But we took the trolley everywhere. We made it work for us. Facility was very clean, breakfast (not included) was a good variety. We had a basic room, it was clean and a decent size. Bathroom shower was large & great water pressure. Bed were somewhat comfortable, but pillows were not. Had to ask for more for husband & I. They were brought up almost immediately. Front desk was always friendly & helpful. We stayed here during Oktoberfest, city center was extremely expensive during this time. All in all an enjoyable stay!
Would return
No complaints, would return. Very nice hotel and suited us as a couple on a short weekend trip perfectly.
Great for a short business trip, only downsides were the heating system was loud at night and the shower was a bit weak.
Efficient
Clean and easy going place
Room was a good size with a nice kitchenette. Everything was really convenient, good service from the desk staff
Super Cute and Spacious Hotel in Munich
Loved the boutique feel of this hotel. The rooms were nice and spacious, with a small kitchen and was really nice. The beds are a bit uncomfortable by American standards. Also no iron in the rooms which was a bit inconvenient.
Amazing hotel!
We stayed here for Oktoberfest and it was a really good experience. Our flight arrived early and they were able to check us in early. Very close to walk to the station (about 5-8 minutes walk). Rooms were very clean and felt like a modern studio. The only con I would say was the bed was a bit too firm for me, and I wish the pillows were a bit firmer as well. But other than that, everything was great. Staff was also very nice and accommodating. Would highly recommend staying here.
We like the hotel. Our only complain is that there is a construction site across the street and it seems that the work begins at around 6:30 am so there are some really loud noises, this is of course temporarily but as of Sep 2019 it is a little problem. I would highly recommend the breakfast option, a lot of food not only sandwiches and coffee that you can find elsewhere and it is not very expensive comparing to close by places.
The staff was so friendly and accommodating! The hotel was cute and eclectic. Loved it!
Good hotel!
BOLD Hotel is a very good hotel with a great atmosphere. The hotel is located in Giesing so it is a bit outside of the city centre requiring taxi, tram or subway to get into the center. Staff is friendly, breakfast is great and rooms are clean.
Fantastic stay. Comfortable room, good amenities and breakfast was wonderful- a nice surprise for an included meal. Trains do run by the property at night so be aware that there is some noise
easy to find, not far from center, parking available, quite area.
Modern boutique hotel with quirky rooms and great breakfast. The kitchen is a plus the pizza was good and the train is a 5 min walk away to take into the centre. Also close to a grocery market
Great place to stay, only a short bike ride out of the main city area. The hotel is very quirky, great that we could rent bikes for the day and there was a breakfast option. Nice quiet area, and great shower! The only downside we had was that our room didn’t have a fridge, so next time we would definitely pay the extra for a room with the fridge, but besides that we had an excellent stay and would come back if we ever return to Munich!
the service and kindness of the staff, breakfast was perfect and drinks
It was convenient for the exhibition centre Noise - there was a lot of internal noise in the hotel. The doors to the bedrooms are large heavy doors which slam shut because the door closer is not effective.the landings have large heavy glass doors which also slam shut for the same problem. The rooms have no carpets so furniture being moved in the rooms above creates disturbance. The pillows supplied were inadequate and very soft for the hardness of the mattress. All this contributed to a less than perfect nights sleep
Nice hotel, with clean and spacious room. Staff courteous and helpful throughout. Only small thing was cleaning staff entering the room one morning at 8am, whilst we were still in bed, other than that, a nice comfortable hotel.
This is my second time at this hotel and I had a great week's stay. The location is only ten minutes walk from Giesing S-Bahn/U-bahn and 5 stops Marienplatz. Giesing doesn't seem the prettiest place, lots of apartment blocks and offices, but I liked being a little away from the centre of the city and the area felt safe when walking the 5-10 mins from the station in the evening. There's a large building site and a factory right next to the hotel, which I found a real plus as it meant peace and quiet in the evenings. The rooms are of a modern and minimalist design which I loved, unfussy and cool. (A better reading light next to the bed would be good.) The bathroom is chic and very clean, the bed comfortable with quality bedding. My room had its own kitchenette and balcony, which made for nicer relaxing space in the evenings. I didn't cook, but found the fridge useful for keeping drinks. For me the best part of my stay was the service. The reception/bar is 24 hour, the staff seem business-like and very efficient (not all of them were into the warm and friendly thing but that didn't really bother me!) and they really have thought of the finer details in terms of making your stay easier. Everything I asked for was made possible, from extra bedding, use of laundry and ironing board, provision of detergent, even selling public transport tickets at reception. I will definitely stay again.
Nice clean and modern. Charged for toothpaste. Location was accessible by car.
Close to transportation, quiet at night (construction going on across the street during the week day). desk people were very helpful. Be forewarned that there are no phones, clocks, or refrigerators in the rooms. Floors were heated in the bathrooms. Rooms did not feel cramped and were light and airy at least on the south side of the building.
The staff are friendly. Check in and check out was easy, the room is basic but comfortable. Food was fresh and good.
Stylist boutique hotel with good facilities
Stylish boutique hotel with high ceiling. Friendly & helpful staff with good service. Parking is convenient and safe. Breakfast is good. There is a mini open kitchen in our room with basic cooking utensils. Although it's near train station, it's quiet at night. Overall pleasant stay!
Great recommendations on local restaurants by the staff! Very friendly and welcoming place.
Nice hotel, basic but perfectly comfortable rooms. 24hr bar with friendly staff.
Lovely warm clean hotel, close to S & U Bahn to city centre. Room v comfortable and extremely quiet. Would definitely stay here again.
Nice hotel
Very clean..and comfortable. Good bed. Attentive and polite staff. Close to train or tram, and easy trip to Marianplatz or main train station. Breakfast was fine and reasonable.
Fantastic hotel with really lovely, helpful staff
I had a fantastic stay at Bold. The staff were so lovely and accommodating, and the room was lovely. Only thing that was a bit challenging was finding a nice cafe or place to eat locally. It was better to get on a train and head to other areas for good food.
The staff on the front desk were very pleasant . What let my stay down was the fact that I was there for 10 days with no TV. For some reason all the English channels were off line . I reported this on my first night and they couldnt rectify the issue, They told me that they had reported it to IT. I ws also disappointed that the GM didnt see me or compensant me for the issues highligted above. I spoke to the desk twice asking to see the GM but on each occassion she was out. I would still like to speak to the GM and find out why they think it is expectable to leave a paying customer without a tv FOR TEN DAYS
Great place, highly recommend
Excellent stay, the staff is very friendly, the breakfast is excellent and the hotel is 5 minutes from the train station, easy and cozy place to stay.
Modern hotel in Munich
Nice, modern, a bit sparse, but comfortable. It’s a bit of a walk from the S-Bahn, but not unusual for Munich.
Unlike hotels where staff try to make you feel welcome valued guest, staff at Bold hotel do not give any attention to customers. Make sure to not forget anything in the room. They make no effort to find out mail you your forgotten items.
Great location for Oktoberfest visit
Great location for Oktoberfest, line 18 took us right to the action. Hotel was clean and had decent shower.....room very warm could not get AC to work. Hotel was a little noisy but considering that we stayed over the final weekend of Oktoberfest it could have been worse. LOVED Munich and hotel was good, would be happy to return.
Very friendly staff, no issues with hotel/room/staff or location. Only issue was construction outside which was not related to hotel and when slept with windows open you had a ruff awakening in early AM due to machinery... We still had a great stay at the hotel and happy to come back next time we come to Munich
Hotel was lovely and was super easy to get into the city on the tram. Staff were really nice and helpful, would stay again for sure.
Lovely modern hotel
Great hotel, reasonably priced, modern & clean. Easy walking distance of the U-Bahn. Perfect for a trip to Oktoberfest!
The room was very spacious and the hotel is eco-friendly. The 24 hour bar/coffee amenity was wonderful! The staff was very friendly and helpful! Check in was quick and easy. The breakfast (pay a fee) was perfect. The location was a little out of the way from city center, but that was not a big deal. Catching the U-bahn (U2) was a 10 minute walk, but easy to get to. Highly recommend this hotel! 2 thumbs up!
Nice hotel very friendly staff and very helpful just a bit far to the train station great breakfast buffet.
Very good overall, but the room was rather small for the couple (no intimacy in the bathroom) and the area is rather gloom
Hotel it’s a bit far away from the city.but 10-15 mins walk to S-Bahn.Room was comfortable and clean.
Couple holiday Munich
Nice Hotel not far from the city centre.
Nice hotel near Giesing
The hotel is really clean and staff really helpful. I also liked there Cafe which stays open 24 hours. Its less than 10 mins wall to nearest S/U/tram/bus stops. Has a small kitchenette with Utensils n fridge.
It's brilliant at BOLD!
We loved our stay at BOLD Hotel. The facilities were perfect, the staff were super friendly and helpful and the place itself had a really cool, relaxed vibe! We will definitely be back!
Highly recommend
Second time we've stayed at this hotel, and we loved it just as much as the last time, and we will continue to stay here whenever we visit Munich. Clean, comfortable rooms; extremely close to metro station; great staff. It is highly recommended.
Superb
Fantastic hotel. I highly rate this.
Very good
A little out of the centre but easy to get to on tram/metro. Very modern chic design and better value than the hotels in the centre.
The room was good. The hotel has an excellent parking garage for additional fee. The staff was not very helpful.
Great hotel inside greater Munich loop, Tram and metro close, but have to walk 10-15 minutes so be prepared. There @ Oktoberfest, American and still treated like local, Would stay there again.
Nice stay outside of central Munich
My boyfriend and I had stayed more central for 2 days for Oktoberfest. We booked Bold for our last night in hopes of having a more relaxing evening. We did not go out once we arrived at the hotel so I can not comment on the location but the room and hotel vibes were great. There were some nice amenities and the breakfast was good with a nice eating area that we hung out at both that evening for a beer and in the morning. Would book again!
Minimalist hotel
This was convenient for our stay. It’s located about a 10 minute walk to the U-Bahn. It was certainly a minimalist hotel. Don’t expect anything fancy. The bed was very hard and pillows were so flat. Decent for the price paid.
Nice Hotel
Very nice Hotel. Husband and I there for work as well as to attend Oktoberfest. Front desk gal even called for me a number I was not able to access being I only understood U.S. phone numbers. Room was a little cozy but had nice balcony and little kitchenette w frig, sink, microwave and hot plate. Bed was comfortable but squeaky! (sorry neighbors!) Walking distance to the subway, train, stores and food. Felt very safe walking to and from subway at all hours of the night. Was there to attend Oktoberfest and was a perfect location Arrived early and they held our luggage while we went sighting until room was ready and same when checked out being we had a late flight.Staff was wonderful and assisted us in every way. Had to do laundry and dryer did not dry clothes. Went 6 rounds before I had to take clothes out and hang them on my balcony. Very nice gentleman from front desk even put in money for me and neither of us were able to make it work properly. We did not partake in breakfast so cannot comment on that. All in all great Hotel
Minimalist living done right
BOLD Giesing hotel is locates just minutes walk to the Giesing U/S Bahn Boutique making it very convenient to travel into the München city centre and close to all tourist attractions. We stayed here for three nights and just loved the minimalist room along with the service they provide. Breakfast was a selection of freshly baked pastries (croissants, chocolate croissants etc), breads, jams, fruit salad, yogurts; particularly the mixed berry yogurt which was my favourite whilst at the Hotel. Overall, an amazing experience and would love to come back for a stay, next time I’m in München.
Affordable hotel close to metro
We visited Munich for Oktoberfest and bought a package flight and hotel that put us at the Bold Hotel. We did not spend a lot of time in the room because there was too much to see and do but our room had a mini fridge, sink and stove top which was a nice surprise. Our only complaint was that it was VERY hot at night and we would have to crack open a window to get some air. The breakfast is also overpriced but we still ate it twice because of the convenience. We probably would not stay here again but it was a very good deal for our first time in Germany.
Nice place to grab a decent nights sleep
Clean rooms, nice shower and heated floors. The bar us open 24/7 and close to the subway. On the down side? they charge for EVERYTHING even tea and coffee and the beds are kind of hard. Overall decent place to stay.
Modern total with great vibe!
We stayed at the Bold Hotel for three nights at the beginning of Oktoberfest. Our room was very comfortable and clean. It was great to have underground secure parking. The staff were extremely helpful. The meals we had for lunch and dinner we great, and very good value. Breakfast offered a wide selection of food. While there were a great many people staying while we were there it was still a relaxed atmosphere. A great bonus was the clothes washing facilities available. It was very easy to get to the centre of Munich and Oktoberfest- bus, tram and train access is about a 10 minute walk away. we bought a 3 day travel pass for 2 for just under €30. Really enjoyed this accommodation! Would definitely stay there again. Bar prices were very reasonable too.
There are better locations in Giesing.
This hotel is remotely located and a solid ten minute walk to U and S Bahn. Hotel is basic without many amenities like a coffee pot in the room or bench to put your suitcase, Hotel Restaurant has very limited menu offerings and since there are no other options in the area, be sure to eat before you return from the day. I stayed 5 nites and sampled the entire menu.
Affordable room with a little quirkiness
A great hotel a little outside the hustle of Munich. About a five minute walk to the S Bahn station. The rooms are great for two people. There's breakfast for an extra €9.80, but worth the cost. We ended up staying here a second time on a trip back through Munich.
A modern gem in Munich
This hotel is a gem -- clean, affordable, quiet and close to public transport for going into Munich. The terrace, lounge and food are very good. Laundry and a vending machine with beer and wine are on the basement level. The esthetic is clean, simple, modern and comfortable. I highly recommend staying here--very family friendly.
Lovely stay
Very warm welcome, clean and comfortable room , good shower.. unfortunately we was late for breakfast the staff happily accommodated us with a delicious meal. Only negative no English speaking TV channels as advertised. Would definitely stay and recommend the Bold hotel..
Great hotel and close to the Tram and S Bahn
We realy enjoyed our stay at the Bold Hotel. It is a lovely modern hotel with great facilities such as secure underground car parking, laundry room and roof top terrace. It is only 15 minutes to the city centre by tram. Would recommend this hotel to anybody doing a city break to Munich.
Great hotel with excellent staff and facilities
Best breakfast in all of Europe during my one month trip. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet.
Comfortable and affordable.
I stay here both for pleasure and once on business. It is a comfortable hotel with a friendly staff and enough facilities to make my stay a pleasant one.
I love the style of the room. It is very cozy and clean. Also, the staff is very nice and helpful.
Good Place
It was good but the room space is too limited. But other things are good.
Excellent choice for value
Quite liked this hotel, with it's contemporary Scandinavian design features. If you are looking for a comfy couch to hang out in, go to the lounge as the rooms are minimalistic (at least ours was) with just the bed, desk and desk chair. No carpet which was nice, felt very clean. Location is out of the centre, but quite handy to the tram system (which is extensive in Munich) and about a 10 minute walk to the Giesing train station. Buy a transit day-pass and travel freely from the hotel. Or, take a leisurely one hour walk to the centre with nice neighbourhoods to see along the way. My main complaint would be about the pillows, pretty squishy, but that's different for everyone. We didn't spend much time experiencing the hotel's amenities as most of the day was spent in the city, but would stay there again. Thanks BOLD hotel!
Nice, quiet, comfortable hotel!
Great for my 2 week stay! I enjoy exercising so I didn't mind the 10min walk to the Giesing station. Hotel is very easy to find on the map. Friendly staff, quiet hotel, clean room.
Far from city center, and blah rooms
Most hotels in Munich were pretty expensive and since we were booking this place for about 3 nights, we wanted it to be budget friendly. When I checked out this place, it seemed fine and fit our bill. But once we got to Munich we realized why this place was rather cheap. Because its really far from the city center. The railway station and the tram stations were pretty far too. This hotel is situated amidst a residential block and when we arrived the road leading to this hotel was under construction. But, when I got in we were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by friendly staff. The breakfast was good and worth it. We ate there 2 out of 3 days that we spent in the hotel. Now, coming to the rooms... Well, our room was on the ground floor and it was dimly lit (I don't know if that was part of the "aesthetics") but it was rather hard to either read anything or write inside the room. The bathroom was clean but the staff didn't replace our towels despite us asking them to do so. The rooms didn't have a wardrobe and had a rod with hangers only. It made the dimly lit place look rather untidy! The rooms didn't have a safe deposit locker and if we had to leave anything valuable, we had to leave them in a box (yes literally a box) with a lock and key. That process was tedious!
Modern and clean, valued for money.
We spent two nights here and we loved our room, it is clean and spacious with a small balcony, the design of the room is modern with plenty of sunlight, the equipments of the kitchenette are the basics but that would do since we didn't really cook anything there. The hotel is located in a pretty quiet area and is a 8-10 mins walk to the nearest train station. Free wifi is provided throughout the hotel and the connection is stable. The only thing we found not too convenient is that they locked one of the lift in the morning and just kept its door open on the 4th floor, which is the floor we stayed in, so we couldn't press another lift to come up because the other one is already on our floor, so one of us needed to go down to the third floor by stairs and use the operating lift to go up to the fourth floor so we could go down with our suitcases to the ground floor by lift.
Great location, friendly staff. No complains.
Oktoberfest 2016
I loved my experience staying here for Oktoberfest. It is such a relaxing place to come to after the craziness of the festival. Easy walk to the train station made everything accessible. Lastly, Claudia and Michelle were super friendly and helpful.
Fantastic Hotel that was above my expectation
GREAT hotel. love the design
Staff makes it
This is not in the center of things but is fine when you know how to use public transportation, which is very good. Staff is very supportive and speak English well
Great stay in Munich
Very friendly staff and accommodating to English speaking guests. Nice bar and breakfast as well as a very comfortable bed and bathroom. This hotel has everything you need for a comfortable nights sleep. There isn't A/C so take that into account if your going to be there in very hot weather. We stayed in late summer and it was cool in the evening. Easy parking and location was close to the city (not close enough to walk easily).
Great staff!
Bold Hotel
I highly recomend Bold Hotel. The staff was awesome!!
Nice hotel, great price
We really enjoyed our stay. This hotel is really nice and a great price. The staff was great. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Good modern clean value hotel
Great hotel for good value, small room but clean and modern. Easy for car access to highway within 2 min and 15 min to centre Munich for dinner or tour. For business, easy and wifi good enough. Breakfast good enough, good breads, choices of other things.
Cozy nest to step back from buzzing downtown
Bold hotel in Munich is nice place to be relaxed. Cozy, convenient and clean. The hotel is located in south-east area of Munich central (innenraum). It takes 30 minutes to Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) by tram or underground (U-bahn). There are must-shops, say, Cafe, ATM or Supermarket, just around the corner. Of course, the hotel has a nice cafe&restaurant and vending machines. The room was spacious, clean and had enough warmness (important!). I stayed there for 6 nights, and felt no stress at all. Additionally, Check-in can be done by 12 O'clock (midnight) at the reception, which was very helpful for those who like me take a late arrival flight to Munich airport.
excellent hotel
extremely clean, stylish furnishings, one of the best hotels I've stayed in! would recommend booking one of the apartment rooms :)
Far away from city center, but it's clean and comfort.
Excelente hotel outside of town
The hotel was really nice, we love it! It's a little outside of town, but if you are staying in Munich for a couple of days you will like to buy the 3 days ticket for transportation and with this you can get to the hotel really easy. The rooms were really clean, comfortable and quiet. The little kitchen helps a lot if you just want to stay in your room and prepare something. I would recommend this hotel for anyone, especially couples.
Very Good Hotel, completely met expectations
Exactly as described by Hotel and guests. A very good/functional Hotel in the suburbs that provides immaculate accommodation at a good price. It is a reasonable way from the city centre but the public transport is excellent. We stopped for 6 days and had time (city break) to enjoy Munich and its xmas markets. The youthful staff at the Hotel were excellent and the Hotel provided a welcome (free) Gluhvine in the evening. We chose a room on the 4th floor with balcony that had plenty of space inc. kitchenette. Overall we were very happy with the hotel/ service and would return.
It was OK. Nothing to be impressed nothing to complain.
Great hotel!
I would definitely recommend the Bold Hotel in Munich. Our room was clean and just as described. We enjoyed the modern decoration. The hotel staff were very nice- even helping us out with a malfunctioning navigation system. The location was also very convenient- a quick and easy 10 minute walk to public transportation, and from there just a few minute trip on the metro to the center of town. The neighborhood was nice and we felt comfortable walking around at night.
No decoration in the room, felt very empty, unwelcoming and bare, like a warehouse. Everything very white and grey. Bathroom decoration quite depressing. Lack of supplies - only one bowl for two people having cereal in the room. Some utensils were a little dirty.
