The place is beautiful. The staff were very nice. The only thing was the room had strong odor and that was uncomfortable for me, the staff were very polite and switched me to another room. Other then that, everything was amazing

Great stay at Boca

Great overnight stay at the resort. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The resort a wonderful place to stay; breakfast was yummy, showers were warm, beer available on site… what else can I say. Easy walk from the hotel to the beach front if you are interested in exploring. Would definitely stay here again.

The staff at this property were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Our driver, navigating a 15-passenger van, had no trouble dropping us off or picking us up. As a small resort, the team was able to provide personalized service, remembering each of us and promptly handling all our requests. We only tried their breakfast (which was included), and it was excellent—much better than the typical resorts! Another highlight was the resort’s location in the heart of El Tunco. The beach, shops, and restaurants were all within walking distance. We also felt very safe, even walking around at night, thanks to the presence of guards at all times.

The breakfast was good. The rooms were nice. Markets/shopping and restaurants were close and many to choose from. The property was clean and the staff was very friendly. Would recommend to friends and family and I would stay again.

This was a beautiful and relaxing place. The restaurant with included breakfast was delicious and in a very relaxing setting. The resort is directly connected with walkways to all the other hotels and streets to safely walk along shopping. The waves were incredibly beautiful and just a short walk to swim in them. Black sand beaches and no crowds. Amazing experience.

Location is great. The restaurant has great tasty offerings. The water pressure in the upper rooms are low but manageable. Walking distance to night life, activities, shopping, etc.

I loved my stay! El Salvador is a gorgeous country with the sweetest and kindest people! Would definitely stay here again. Only drawback was the false jacuzzi that’s not a jacuzzi and the lighting in the room was low and we had to get the bulbs changed. Other than that and the pricey rate, the food was great, staff were great and the place is really lovely! Great for a group of friends

Amazing AC & like a short walk out to the beach, as well as the restaurants in surf city. Would definitely recommend staying here. Will definitely stay here again too.

The staff especially Diego were all very nice. I was surprised to find the room lacked a secure door with privacy... a sliding glass room with a key lock and with a black-out curtain serves as the door to the room. We were given only two large towels for our stay... I found out later that we were supposed to be given facial towels & medium sized towels also. Only one of the two pools was operational (one was under maintenance... there should have been notification in advance about this). In the pool that was open, the second story whirlpool (hot tub) overlooking the pool has a lot of potential but only reaches 86°F... not is not nearly hot enough for a true sauna/hot tub. Regarding the room, it was clean but very very dimly lit... one semi-dark ceiling fan light for the whole room; there is a desk there but is unusable due to a lack of desk lamp or adequate lighting. The air conditioning worked great. Just FYI; El Tunco itself is truly just for surfers & the nightlife crowd. Not family friendly. All these considered, the very friendly staff, attentive service, & delicious food almost made up for all these issues. Boca Olas is a beautiful, well-maintained resort with a few kinks to work out to deserve the high price we paid for the booking.

This hotel was perfect! Rooms are very nice and clean with ac. Great staff, food, and location. Driver Wilfredo gave us great recommendations on places to visit and to eat. I would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed the resort and amenities available. My partner and I loved the accessible boardwalk that leads to the beach with a variety of options of restaurants and small markets. We loved the privacy in the jacuzzi at night and the option to order food and drinks up top where the jacuzzi was located. Massages by the beach were amazing! (at an extra cost of $45) but my partner really enjoyed it and said it was worth it!! The complimentary breakfasts were so delicious and with a beautiful view. We’d definitely stay here again and probably for a longer time. We did wish the pools were open later. When we were there the hours were from 9am-9pm which we didn’t like. The plus about the pools is that one of them has a swim up bar which was really cool but you can also bring your own drinks if you have some in your room. (I brought my own beers). Great stay for us! Thanks to all the workers as they were all super nice and friendly. They made sure we were taken care of and exceeded our expectations.

I really feel like I was scammed at this place I had a reservation for a family of four and when I got there they were asking for extra charge of 50 dollars for my 13 year old son. The facility is beautiful but this killed the good vives of this property. I would think about it twice before staying there again, I like transparency and I felt like this was not cool at all.!!!! Besides that the food here was amazing and staff at the restaurant was great as well as the door bell guy!!!

Had a very pleasant week stay. The staff was wonderful and friendly. The grounds were very well kept and lovely. Loved that it was within walking distance of beach, bars, restaurants and shops. The breakfast was included and was delicious and just as pictures in their menu indicated. I especially enjoyed the multiple pools and swim up bar. I would highly recommend if you are staying in the el tunco area and need a great hotel to stay in. I will definitely be returning.

Boca Olas is a great place to stay and vacay in El Tunco. Staff was great and friendly but I only had one complaint which is a very small one. The wifi was spotty or didnt work which was ok I just went outside and enjoyed the waves.

Rooms were decent but overpriced. Pool and restaurant was niice. Staff was okay. Did not enjoy the restaurant food quality. It was raining so I didn’t have much option but to eat at the restaurant. I tried a few different options and the breakfast menu was good. Crema the mariscos was bland and the fish was overcooked so it tasted dry. I ordered a burger and it came with a piece of cardboard Inside. Yes a PIECE OF CARDBOARD good thing I was cutting it in half, that is how I found it. They apologized and brought me another burger and that one was cold. Both burger and fries. $15 wasted because I still had to pay for it even tho I didn’t eat it. They gave me a complimentary banana olas and it was melted by the time it arrived at our table. We booked 2 rooms and At one point we asked for food to one of our room and 1hr later they still hadn’t brought the food. We called them back and had to re order because they forgot our order. One too many issues with the restaurant so just because of that I wouldn’t book again. This place isn’t cheap compared to other places and for the food to be subpar is unacceptable.

Clean and safe

The whole staff we came in contact with was very friendly, courteous & respectful. They all seem to get along great. Property is in a great location. Walking distance to local shops, restaurants & beach. Staying here made our stay that much more pleasant. Thank you Daniel for going above & beyond for us.

We had a really nice stay at Boca Olas. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast included with the price of the stay was fabulous. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Located in the beginning of the El Tunco beach strip of shops and restaurants. Walkable and safe.

Good option at el tunco to be close to the action but far enough from the beachfront bar noises. A bit expensive but overall ngood option. Hoping to see the outdoor pools open much earlier than 830, even if the cleaning staff need some access in the morning

This hotel was very clean, the staff was friendly, breakfast was included, you just have to call room service. anything extra, you will be charged a small fee. there is a menu to choose your breakfast. Restaurants, bars, and stores were all near by. everything was walkable. The pool closes at 9:30 pm. the pool and bar was pretty laid back and chill. They did have another restaurant in the back as well. There was also some construction going on, we just had to take a different route to the beach part. I will definitely be returning.

Beautiful resort nice rooms not to pricey considering the area not as cheap as it is in other areas of el salvador but it is nice would definitely stay again

Everything was great from location, staff, food had an amazing experience.. the only thing i didn't like was the shower door. I went with my kids and husband and i felt uncomfortable with the glass shower door. Although it wasn't completely see through if you get close enough you can see everything. For a couple its perfect just not for the kiddos.

Boca Olas resort was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in in the last 5 years! The property is so beautiful and quaint. The rooms are clean. There’s two pools and the location is amazing. It’s very close to the town but far enough from the noise. The staff is what made my stay the most amazing. Despite the language barrier they worked hard to make sure all of our needs were met. The food at this hotel is amazing. I had my best meals at the restaurant and was in love with the breakfast.

Pools should be open early

This was by far the worst hotel I had stayed at El Tunco. Do yourself a favor and find another hotel; I had stayed at Papava Surf Garden and they were pretty good. This hotel would want to over charger you for ever single small reason and the stuff is absolutely rude. The amenities are okay but the location is not central and the only nice thing is that you can walk to the beach BUT after 10PM they closed the gate and you need to walk miles to get back to the hotel it was was an absolute nightmare to stay here, worst hotel and customer service

We had a very pleasant stay at this resort. Appreciated the cleanliness. The open terrace next to the river was a delightful place for breakfast. Only wish that the hotel would have eliminated the music at the pool area. I prefer quiet. And the room could use some bedside lamps. The overhead light was insufficient.

Boca Olas was beautiful. The only reason I have it a 4 out of 5 is more of an Expedia issue than the hotel. The suite I reserved said it could sleep four, but when I arrived at the resort I was told it is meant for 2 people and my son's free breakfast was not going to be included and we would need to pay for it. Expedia needs to be more accurate with the information per suite. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the grounds were beautiful and the pool was gorgeous. We walked around the neighborhood and I truly believe that this resort was the nicest of all the resorts in the area. The staff were nice and courteous and very attentive. The food and drinks were more expensive than in other restaurants in the same area but the food was all excellent. We would totally be back but next time I may just book with the resort directly instead of using Expedia.

We were a large group (family reunion) traveling from two countries. The included breakfast was wonderful (keep in mind, portions in El Salvador are not as large as in Western countries) and if we needed more food, the prices were reasonable. The property was relaxing, clean, and peaceful. We enjoyed rotating between the two pool sections and the wonderful jacuzzi on the second floor. that overlooks the property. The staff was very attentive and happy. I highly recommend paying for your drinks and food on the spot because we found that they were accidentally mischarging the rooms incorrectly, and it wasn't because they had bad intentions of over-charging us, it was because they do not have a centralized computer system to keep charges in an orderly manner. Double check the charges before you pay as they use manual calculators (easy to make mistakes - don't be rude to the workers for honest mistakes). The location was PERFECT. Close yet far enough away from the beach music bars and dance bars. Walking distance to so many activities nearby. Make sure you arrange transportation in advance because ubers rarely travel down to the El Tunco area. We missed a dinner waiting on an uber and the front desk couldn't get a hold of transportation to fit us all. No problem- we ate at the boardwalk nearby. Note, the check-in area has a cute fish pond so it might smell like fish. Glad we chose Boca Olas as it felt *closer* to what we would expect in advanced countries.
