I love staying at BMK when I visit Kampala. Very convinient central location, descent property, lots of dining options, good size rooms and friendly staff. Never disappointed and will be returning in a couple of months.
Staff are friendly and the property in generally clean and safe. We didn't like the bathroom. The water leaks through the shower to around the room. We raised this issue, but nobody attended to it. The first day, we found the bathroom bin was full.
Extremely friendly and attentive staff. Flexibile and helpful. Great breakfast. Very clean room and perfect AC. Wifi was great but not awesome.
Do Not Stay Here
Hotel is filthy, old and there is no privacy! I checked-in and checked-out within hours and booked a room at Protea Marroitt Skyz. The room was too filthy for me spend a night - sofa was disgusting! My request for a refund was denied.
Just local tv channels No cable Takes 3 hours to get food menu to your room. Takes at least an hour to hear back from maintenance
Excellent but quality of food in the restaurant should be improved.
Good value
Good value for money . Staff were very pleasant .
It was terrible
The excellent staff (who regularly went the extra mile to ensure my satisfaction Henry, Frederick, etc.), view of City of Kampala from my 7th floor Apartment), and amenities especially the Gym @ Hotel Africana which all residents have access to "and trainers "Salimin" will definitely recommend and will be back next November 2022, also the owner rest in power to BMK himself loved his book which was a must buy "My Story of Building a Fortune in Africa
Good for the price I paid. Management is nice.
Management is nice and willing to be flexible on check-in and check-out. For the price it's a good deal. Spacious, I rented the one bedroom apartment. There are 3 elevators. Apartments are on the 7th-12th floors. They need more utensils, there was a microwave, fridge, large shower, King bed, AC is great. No mosquitos, I stayed for 3 days. It's part of the Africans Hotel, so reach time you leave you get your car screened when you return, which got annoying. They only clean the room 2-3 times a week. Overall, I would be willing to stay here again
Perfect place for a family stay
This was a great place to stay with a small child. We needed to stay near the US Embassy and its location was perfect for us.
Bad experience from start to finish. Where should I begin? Maybe I should start with the fact that there was no key for the room I was placed in. Additionally, the room I was checked into had no working A/C, and then had to wait for a room to be cleaned which did have A/C and a key. Why on earth would the room with no A/C be cleaned first? This was very late in the afternoon too. I arrived at around 3 pm and my reserved room wasn't ready until after 4:00 which is long after "check in time". Then, the next morning, I was asleep at around 9 am and there is a knock at the door. I don't answer because,,,I WAS ASLEEP! Then, the maid proceeds to just open the door and enter. I have to shout at this imbecile several times to tell her to close the door, because I WAS SLEEPING! This hotel has no priorities placed on guest service and comfort, but only what is convenient for the personal schedule of someone whose highest aspiration in life was to focus all of her talents on being a hotel maid. There is no restaurant nearby, and every time you exit the hotel, you must be searched upon re-entry. There is no bar or lounge, and the food in the paltry restaurant they have is simply a buffet with food that has been sitting there since the beginning of time. Avoid this place at all costs.
Suitable for monthly occupancy
Convenient for longer stays; rooms are a good size. Service is good. limited options for breakfast. Meals can be taken at the adjoining hotel Africana. Only a few TV channels. Good kitchenette. Rooms need mosquito proofing above the doors - ask for a net.
Quiet enough, comfortable enough and staff friendly and helpful enough, although an irritating incident when I checked over a small amount of money meant I left there angry over my treatment.
