The place was beautiful, we felt in the middle of a rice terrace! Everything was great except for the room wifi, poor reception.
Horrific Lizards, Snakes n insects in Hotel
Biyukukung should also be call as “Lizard Hotel” as I booked Deluxe Room in hotel I found Wall Lizard everywhere in room walls as well as outside wall. My little son was frightened to sleep in the night by their chirping. One evening while going from reception to hotel room there was a snake on staircase. Food is pathetic and room service is terrible. They are least bothered about guests. I had booked my room with breakfast but later I came to know it’s only limited breakfast for 2 person. How about my 3 yrs son? Hotels.com should remove this hotel from their list.
Perfect place to relax
Beautiful place to stay. Comfortable accomodations. Great surroundings with rice fields and banana trees. Close to shops and restaurants. Nice pools.
Great... just not for me!
The spa was the best part for me!! As an older person, the room set up was not good for me. As the bedroom was upstairs & the bathroom was down stairs, so that was a bit of a challenge. Also lots of steps to the spa! But ever so beautiful. Service was Amazing 👏
Staff are amazing. Very friendly. Breakfast is very good. Hotel has everything you need. Highly recommend
Very dirty room. Many bugs.
Serene spot in busy Ubud
It is a very serene place with the rooms all around the rice field. You feel like you are in the country. Our room was spacious with a big balcony overlooking the field. It is worth the walk to stay there. The restaurant has a very limited menu but we appreciated the convenience and the views.
We booked 2 deluxe room pool access but we got rooms on second floor instead
I enjoyed staying across from the bungalows. A great view of sunrise and sunsets from your upstairs balcony. The resort sits back away from the street, makes it nice and quite. A great place for yoga, it’s quite with the sound of a small stream waterfall makes it relaxing. With the rice fields, you feel like your in staying the country. We were here for 15 nights. We are walking distance to restaurants, bars, yoga, grocery store ATM, shops and many things.
Overall it was a relaxing stay in a beautiful location. The bamboo house was fantastic and exotic. The pool was lovely and breakfast each morning was delicious. There was even a free yoga class. Would like to come back!
Good location and clean staff was amazing breakfast is menu be better if had more choice
The suite was 2 storey, with the bathroom on level 1 and the bedroom on level 2. the bedroom had a cosy feel with the drapes. the bathroom was abit small and the hairdryer worked intermittently
Stayed in the bamboo house with rice paddy view. The bamboo house is such a uniqueand charming place to stay. Able to walk to many places in Ubud on foot. Very good service and the pools (3) were nice. Simple but adequate breakfast. Good value for the money. We will stay here again when in Ubud.
The staff were so kind and helpful. Free breakfast every morning. Everything was within walking distance. They even helped us book activities.
We found a big Gekko in the closet and it’s late at night. The room we got seems like there’s a flooding in the room since the floor was squeaking and not in a shape. The water was not drained well in bathroom too, we had to shower with flooding. There’re molded on each tile in bathroom and the toilet seat moved when you lean left or right while you want to grabbed something. But the view from the balcony was nice and that’s the thing we enjoyed.
Quiet, relaxing, beautiful view over rice paddies. Lovely staff.
Location and architecture great. If you want a clean shower, fluffy towels and pool service go elsewhere
Great Bamboo Villa Experience
Love this place! I stayed in one of the bamboo villas and it was a great experience. It is made out of bamboo so there’s no insulation and you can hear the things around you but just so long as you’re OK with this it’s a great experience.
Rice paddy view bamboo house stay was truly magical. Real gem in Ubud. It is peaceful. Very clean. Lovely gardens.
I really loved staying in the bamboo hut. It was such a beautiful setting amongst nature and being along side the rice paddies. The staff were really fantastic and helpful. It was located very close to the shops and local attractions. The staff went above and beyond when I injured myself and took really excellent care of me as I was travelling alone. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to explore and stay somewhere than the average hotel.
Excellent
Amazing place, great service and location. Good breakfast too (do try banana pancake). Bamboo house with garden view but will book a rice terrace view next time. Wifi could be better but if you have a local sim it won't be an issue
A tranquil resort in miniature. Very nice.
A lovely mini-resort. Quiet and peaceful but right off the main drag. The 'gading' units are minimalist 2-story towers made of thatched bamboo, with porches, netted beds, picture window views of a small rice terrace... pretty durn storybook, really. Staff was excellent. Spa was very good. Room service had a limited menu but made great snacks. Pools were warm clean and quiet. Extended my stay twice, would stay again.
Air conditioning didn't work. But staff were great and provided a fan. Location is fantastic. Scenery is beautiful. Pool is great. Breakfast average.
Upscale hotel for good price
Very nice place, in a good location and very serene. Good place to come even as a solo traveler but I'd also come here for my honeymoon.
Best bamboo rooms in Ubud!
The bamboo rooms were awesome!
Reasonable Hotel
Too many outside steps in order to walk to Room.parking Site is questionable. Unavailability of power point to utilise kettle if wanting a beverage.
This hotel was in a great location and had a peaceful atmosphere being set in rice fields. The room structures were comfortable but open to insects and lizards entering though the many large gaps.
Good Good Good Good Good Good Good very good!.......
Nice hotel close to town
Great location to a vast array of food experiences, rooms over look rice paddy field
Hidden Gem
I was really happy with everything on offer at this hidden gem. Great location, really friendly staff and the breakfast was great... I enjoyed my stay and although it was only a 1 night stay it was lovely and peaceful. It was a quick break and recharge from my hubby and kids and although I didn't spend too much time in the room is was so sweet with the loft bedroom and four poster bed... will definitely stay again but next time will have the family with me...
Bamboo stay
This was really different experience I stayed in bamboo hut with rice field view It was one of the cleanest and comfortable stay in ubud Very near from ubud center
Resort meets farmstay
Great location in Ubud with a rice field. Best is the shuttle car service around town
Exactly what I needed in Ubud !
After staying a week in Seminyak, this was exactly what I needed ! Away from the hustle, noise and trafiic of Seminyak, the Biyukukung offered solitude and a wonderful setting. Nestled around rice fields, I chose to memorize my stay y booking one of the bamboo 2 story huts for my stay. The hut was very clean and very comfortable with AC on the second floor where the bed was in addition to a small patio where I could relax, catch up on some reading amidst the rice fields. I would recommend this to anyone who needs some time away from Seminyak ( too busy... Too touristy... Too much hassle ). Since it is ringed by a rice field, there may be some mosquitos , but I did not find it too large of an issue. The staff were very helpful and the included breakfast, was actually quite good ( I would suggest telling them to cut down on the cooking oil, but this is quite minor compared to the overall experience ) There are multiple pools which were very clean and refreshing. I would recommend to anyone. Close to Monkey Forest and some shops... We were a bit tired from the total day's activities with the tiered rice fields walk, Coffee Plantation as well as Monkey Forest. The hotel was kind enough to shuttle us to Laka Leke for dinner where we enjoyed a good dinner as well as a traditional Balinese fire dance ( free at Laka Leke ). Laka Leke shuttled us back. Great coffee and croissants at Monsieur Spoon around the corner ( left and then left ) from hotel. Memorable.
Nice hotel, great location
Really enjoyed our stay here, lovely room looking out onto the rice terraces. Our breakfast wasn't included and we were slightly mislead as there was a set price so the menu we ordered from was not the prices we were charged upon check out
Love this hotel
It's my second time staying at this hotel and both stays have been great. I got upgraded to a bamboo room on my second stay which I am grateful for. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is within a 5 minute walk to yoga barn and some of my favourite restaurants. Rooms and nice and clean, staff were very attentive to clean the room once I had left it so it would be clean on my return. I also love that they offer a free taxi service within the central Ubud area.
The best spot in Ubud
I truly enjoyed my stay at the hotel! It was my 4th visit to Bali and this time i came to do yoga at Yoga barn with my friend. I experienced different levels of a hotel in Bali and can say do not hesitate and stay at this hotel! Rooms are beautiful and it's so quite and clean! Away from traffic and street noises. Staff was amazing. A driver picked us up from the airport and drove us safely to the hotel. Once we were late for our breakfast and the cook made a breakfast just for us! Everyone is very friendly and helpful! Had a couple of massages during our stay and found them really good! If i come back to Ubud i will definitely stay at Bjukukung. Thank you guys!
Clean, scenic, great location!
Two reasons I rated 4 star vs 5 star: 1) stairs / distance to rooms is long with quite a few stairs to manage. Luggage is transported by staff which aids greatly. 2) booked a spa/massage package at hotel for a specific time, however, was called to be advised would be 10 minutes late; wasn't called until 40 minutes later. We had dinner reservations and a dance performance to attend, thus couldn't take advantage of massage. On a positive, staff were excellent. Friendly. Accomodating. Lovely property. Oversee on property rice field. Pools are beautiful. A/C was effective. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. We rented a scooter for a day, quite easily getting to monkey sanctuary, temple/rice paddy trek and a Barong cultural dance. Would recommend this property.
AVOID - unhelpful staff and dirty.
Awful stay! Staff very unhelpful and generally lazy, they seem just to sit and peak into guest rooms. Room full of mosquitos, possibly bed bugs, very bitten bed side also. Twin beds put into double with no mattress topper so hard line down middle, also not very hygienic. Lock on room impossible. Toilet and shower 'room' was an airless, stuffy and TINY basement cupboard, and dirty. HORRID! One of the most unpleasant places I have ever stayed. Shuttle is non existent, only available day I left. Dirty towels folded and put back to look like new ones. Pool towels smell of grease. Up and down stairs to the toilet is dangerous and you can hear ALL the noise from adjoining rooms, no privacy there either. (Or from staff peaking into rooms!) Basic requests to reception still not done 4 hours later. Only Indonesian TV channels. NOT RECOMMENDED.
Excellent choice if you are staying in ubud
Amidst rice fields and lush greenery a resort and spa thats close to nature and serenity. Staff is very sweet and goes the extra mile to cater to your needs. Loved the whole experience. Thank you for making our bali trip awesome guys.
Nice hotel close to town
Good breakfast. Food in main restaurant was greasy and in edible take your other meals elsewhere. Just a short walk to town. Extra "cot" was a mattress on the floor. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would return
Great location, amazing hospitality
The hotel staff are amongst the most friendly and professional you could ask for. In particular Mr Agung will get your day off to an amazing start, thanks to his beaming smile and wonderful team at breakfast.
Lovely, boutique hotel with everything we needed
We were recommended Biyukukung by a friend and it certainly didn't disappoint. It's close to all the action in Ubud but not right on top of it, quiet and peaceful and the rice paddies are just beautiful. Our room was great - the bed and pillows very comfortable, the bathroom lovely and the balcony (we were on the second floor) overlooked one of the swimming pools. The staff, unsurprisingly, were polite and accommodating of some changes we needed to make to our booking. And when we reported our hot water didn't work and the batteries in the air conditioner remote ran out both were fixed immediately. We are planning another trip back to Ubud next year and will almost certainly stay here again. It was lovely.
Great place to stay in Ubud
The hotel was great value. The staff were excellent, the room comfortable and the pools nice. Very close and convenient to central Ubud. Walking distance to monkey forest and market, although there is a hotel shuttle to take you to close parts of town. Breakfast was included and was good.
Nice hotel with rice field
Pros: Room is quite big and relatively new. Cons: Breakfast choices are quite limited.
Stunning retreat in the heart of Ubud
We were lucky enough to be rid of our kids for a couple of days to have a little trip up to Ubud just the two of us. We booked here because of the good price and the view - and breakfast included is always easy. The location was perfect for getting around on foot (and after 2 weeks of drivers we were very happy to do this) and was surrounded by lots of great restaurants, and a short walk to the monkey forrest. Even shorter walk to Yoga barn! Fantastic! We booked a bamboo hut overlooking the rice paddy - I almost booked poolside but didn't. Glad I didn't as there was really not much difference. The view was absolutely amazing and peaceful and beautiful! The room.... well, imagine a fish bowl on stilts. Absolutely zero privacy. Had to shut all the curtains and peg them down any time I wanted to change to my swimsuit (which was often!) and in the evenings I'm sure you could hear your neighbour sneeze. We got around it, and it wasn't so bad, but be aware what you are booking. The bed was massive, and very firm. TV was disappointing, just local channels so we couldn't zone out and watch it. I got a massage on the last night we were there, and it was lovely and relaxing! And half price! Staff were not the best at English, and sort of helpful. But I wouldn't say they went out of their way at all. I would very much recommend this place and would love to go back one day.
Rice fields and Pools in Ubud
This hotel is a little off the main road into Ubud. It is situated in the middle of rice fields and is very tranquil. The rooms are moderate décor - nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. The hotel is very large and it took us about 3 minutes to walk done to our room and of course it was up to get out. Lots of stairs. The staff seemed a bit unfriendly - strange for Bali.
Clean and secure hotel, in a very central location. I went to practice yoga and it was only a 5 minute walk from Yoga Barn. Staff are very friendly and accomodating. I also enjoyed the free shuttle service that the hotel offers.
Good service!
Helpful and friendly stuff! the atmosphere is just perfect for anyone who wish to stay away from the city. I will come back for sure!
Cute bungalow near Monkey Forest
We had a great stay at this hotel. It was situated right next to a small rice paddy, and had a great view. The rooms were like small townhouses, with a toilet and shower room on the first floor, and the bedroom upstairs with a balcony. Breakfast was average, but was free. The hotel was off the main road, but was only about a 10 minute walk to the monkey forest. There was a supermarket very close, and a couple great restaurants within close walking distance. The hotel helped arrange a motorbike rental for us as well which was fun to scoot around on.

Great n comfortable stay in a Bamboo House
Good comfortable stay. Stayed in a bamboo house!! Excellent concept!! The ambiance of the resort was also soothing. They got 3pools with them (decent size).staff was also helpful. For vegetarians (specifically Indians) wont get indian breakfast. They have set menu for breakfast. American/indonesian/continental options are available. For vegetarians they have just fruits n vegetable sandwich n tea/coffee. But we do have couple of indian restaurants within 2mins walking distance which is the best part. Actually the location is amazing as its in middle of city center.
