The hotel was in a great location.
Very convenient.
We love the room so clean and quiet.
Staff was very friendly and helpful
Love everything
The hotel was very nice. It is a 150 year hotel but is maintained well. Breakfast was ok but you expect more from a 4 star hotel. The room was nice. We were upgraded because of a mishap. We got a room which was already in ise. Room had 2 slots for a suitcase which was better than usual. Shower was not sufficiently insulated so the bathroom floor got wet. Overall we would recommend.
Our Favorite Rome Hotel
We have now stayed at this hotel three times, starting in 2018. It's conveniently located about two blocks from Termini train station and the Metro. Our room on this trip was quite large by European standards. The bathroom was very spacious, with a tub large enough for a proper bath. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job each day and never missed a detail. We did, however, upgrade to a room facing an inner courtyard. While a room facing the street might seem better, Via Cavour is a major street and therefore noisy. Our courtyard room was dead quiet. The least expensive rooms tend to face Via Cavour. The breakfast buffet is excellent, with hot and cold choices. Don't skip the croissants! It's one of the few European hotels that offers hot chocolate on tap, which I really appreciate. But don't worry, they also have all the coffee options as well.
I stayed here once before and enjoyed it so much I decided to stay again and will in the future. The staff was so inviting and the hotel very clean and has everything I need.
Old World Charm
The hotel is older but charming. The room was much bigger than expected and the hotel is located in a great part of Rome. Walking distance to the Coleseum.
Close to Roma Termini and walking distance to area attractions. Hop on hop off leas than 1 block away
The room is very clean and roomy. The staff are very nice and helpful.
Good breakfast, but room needs improvement
The check-in was fast and friendly. The room smelled of sewer, probably coming from the floor drain in the middle of the bathroom. There's no shower door and water goes everywhere. There was no bath mat. I had to use the bath towel after I dried off. The air condition does not go lower than 19 celsius and the room is warm. The fridge does not get cold and drinks in the fridge are tepid. The bed is comfortable. The breakfast is great.
Location Location
Located within 2 blocks of the central train station. This made for a very nice overnight stay in Rome with some great discount shopping very nearby!
Rome 2024
We stayed here pre cruise from 9/22 - 9/25. The hotel is very convenient to Termini Station. The staff was great to work with. The included breakfast could not be beat. Very delicious. Thank you hotel staff.
Upscale property, excellent location close to Termini train station. Spacious and comfortable rooms. Helpful staff Only negative is a relatively unimaginative breakfast which was not of a quality and variety consistent with the otherwise high standards of this hotel
While there is lots of city noise, the location worked very well for our purposes. Used taxis to get to some locations. Fares were very reasonable. Staff is friendly, informative good suggestions for dinner and other ways to get around Rome.
Great Hotel and Wonderful Location
Wonderful location. The rooms were small but beautiful. Great buffet breakfast.
Beautiful hotel. Walking distance from the Termini, very convenient. Our room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was spacious and clean. Plenty of space to open our bags and hang clothes. Blow dryer didn’t work, so bring your own. The restaurant was beautiful and very nice. Lots of options on the menu. We were treated very nicely and everyone spoke English.
Front desk was not very friendly when we checked in. We reserved a room for 3 persons and were only given a room with 2 beds. We were given another room with 3 beds but it was a long travel day and we were too tired to deal with this
A lovely hotel in a great location for exploring Rome. We were able to easily walk to many attractions including the Trevi Fountain. The rooms are well appointed and the beds comfortable. We appreciated have a tub in the bathroom! We spent our last evening in Rome dining in the Ristorante and it was fabulous! Excellent service and wonderful dishes. Would highly recommend staying here and we look forward to visiting again.
This hotel is clean and well ran. It was a great plce to stay.
Wonderful clerk at check in. Arranged taxi to airport for next morning. Gave directions to colleseum/historical artifacts. Room was spacious. Clean facility. Lovely sheet set on bedding. Bfast nice.
Fabulous, and easy to get to
I've stayed here before, even before Hotels.com existed! I love this hotel, it's totally beautiful and very "Gilded Age" in its decor. The staff is always lovely, the rooms are beautiful and look just like the photos. It's a perfect place for anyone who loves history, or wants to feel like they're on the set of Gilded Age or even Downton Abbey. It's gorgeous! And the breakfast is excellent too. PS: If you know you're going to be tired from a long flight, this is literally right out the door and down Via Cavour from the Roma Termini station. Just walk out past the taxi stand, turn left, cross the street at the first street on the left, walk across the double tram track, and keep on less than one block. It's on your left. Time elapsed: 10 minutes.
A nice place to stay and very close to the train station. Very busy area and easy to get around. The hotel was pretty good and the staff quite professional. We had a good stay.
Everything we needed for a pre cruise stay in Rome. Ultra convenient to station and friendly and helpful staff.
Nice hotel with local charm
Place is very clean, staff friendly and facilities are brilliant. First room didnt have working a/c so when asked to check, they immediately checked and changed rooms. The new room had working a/c, spacious and in good condition. Room is not noisy even though its close to main road. Good location to walk to multiple sight seeing areas.
Very nice hotel in the area near the arch. Was easy to access and great room.
Beautiful rooms, restaurant, building
This is a beautiful location to food and shop's and so close to train station and walkable. The staff was so nice and helpful and breakfast was fantastic, they provided so many options. We Will definitely come back and recommend this property to anyone visiting Roma. Thank you again beautiful stay!
Air Conditioning in July NOT sufficiently cold. Good traditional Roman hotel. Very good value. Walking to principal rail station.
Very convenient location, very helpful reception staff, very clean
Second time we stayed at this convenient hotel near train station. Comfortable and accommodating.
Overall I highly recommend this hotel. It was well-maintained and the staff was welcoming and helpful. The breakfast exceeded expectations. I would stay here again.
I stayed in this hotel for one night and I loved it. Convenient location to termini. Room was very nice and clean. They have free breakfast which is a plus , though I didn't eat. Room was very classic Italian. Front staff is nice. My only complaint is that they don't have an iron on the rooms, you'd have to pay for a service to Iron your cñothe
When calling for room service, there was no answer. For the first two days, there was no internet, and we had to ask for a room change. Breakfast was below average—scrambled eggs were tasteless, croissants were stale, and the milk was lukewarm. The breakfast staff were also very rude. It's not worth paying extra for breakfast here.
Everyone was very kind and helpful
Close to the train and metro stations, but the room was surprisingly quiet. Well run and clean.
No parking
There is no drop-off access and no parking
Bedding was comfortable, close to train station. Staff was helpful!
A & C Euro Trip
I can only say outstanding! This is the perfect hotel to stay at to be treated as you would like to be. Rooms are impeccably clean, comfortable and roomy. The staff cares for your every need and doesn't make you feel stupid for asking odd questions or requests. The restaurant on site is excellent. Located very close to Termini train station, main train station in Rome. 20 minutes from the airport and am easy connection. Metro station is there too. Super easy. They even have laundry service for next day.
Exellent location, tasty breakfast.
Staff is friendly
Like the European hotels in the movies
I stayed here before when I was in Rome for a longer trip. It looks like the European hotels in the movies— wood paneling, floor to ceiling drapes, red velour furniture in the lobby. Very conveniently located to many sites and the hop on hop off buses.
Close to Roma Termin. We walked to the Spanish stairs and the shopping areas. It was great and we had a nice walk back to the hotel. The hotel is convenient for using the train service. The staff was helpful. Breakfast was great.
I’ve stayed at this hotel twice and I will definitely book again next time I’m in Rome. It’s a beautiful hotel, rooms are very clean and comfortable and the staff is wonderful. The rates are reasonable and I always enjoy my stay.
Convenient location to walk old Roman sites
Great location
just what I needed
I have stayed here before and continue to come back. Location works for me, close to Termini. Usually all I do is sleep here but this time I had the staff arrange for a transfer to FCO. I had a mixed experience with this driver, ranging from poor to excellent, but this is not to be attributed to Hotel MA. The staff got me checked in quickly and easily, and the room was excellent--just what I needed.
Clean hotel in a great location. Staff helpful, check in process was easy.
great location! right around the corner from Termini station for trains and metro & short walk to the Colosseum.
Everything great. Breakfast fantastic.
Sewer smell from the bathroom
The hotel and the room were beautiful. Clean, organized, stocked well and comfortable bed. The bathroom often had a bad smell of sewer whether or not I used it. Ant the smell came throughout the room. It was a strong odor and quite unpleasant. Otherwise it was wonderful.
Super close to train station, staff was nice and overall very walkable area. I enjoyed my stay here although I didn’t spend much actual time at the hotel.
We will be back
We arrived at the hotel and it exceeded our expectations straight away. The welcome was good, room was ready for us. Lots of little extras, dressing gowns, slippers, shaving set, toothbrushes and tooth paste, shower caps, mini bar plus the usual shower gels, shampoos etc. We couldnt get the TV to tune in which didnt bother us as we wouldnt have used it. We could have asked reception to sort but as I said we didnt require it anyway. The sister hotel Bettoja Mediteraneo across the road has an amazing roof top bar, perfect to watch the sunset. Great location near the Termini station and about 15 minute walk to the Coleseum and 29 mins to the Trevi fountain. Great hotel!
This property was exactly what we were looking for. It was fairly priced. They let us check in a little earlier. The location, you really can’t beat it. It’s right next to the train and bus station which connects you to all of the sight seeing activities. It’s a pretty standard hotel. The only downfall was probably the air conditioning. But it’s Europe, I can’t expect it to be a full blown AC unit. I’ll be recommending to my peoples.
Close walking to all historic sites and one block away from the main train station.
Super easy walking distance from the train station and a short walk to some of Rome’s most popular sites. The hotel is full of rich history and well maintained. We enjoyed our stay there.
Poor air conditioning
Very nice old hotel. High ceilings in room, bathroom very nice ans spacious. Breakfast was great as well.
Very convenient location. Elevator was appreciated. Good breakfast. We enjoyed the rooftop bar at their sister property across the street.
Staff were very pleasant and onsite dinning was very good.
We stayed at this hotel in the past and it is consistently good and reasonably priced. Shall return.
Excellent stay
I would not recommend this hotel. From the moment of first check in, the front desk staff was at best unhelpful and mostly tide except for Stephano who helped us get opera tickets. Although the rooms have been recently updated, the rest of the property is very dated. While convenient to the central rail station, the neighborhood is a little sketchy in terms of safety.
We stay there for 2 night in Sept. 2022. What we like most is the closeness to the Rome terminal transportation center, and it is located in a very nice and convenient area. However, the toilet water is smelly and it needs a fix from the plumber.
Great
Perfect location to the train station. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Spacious and clean room. We will be back.
Good location and best price Big rooms and clean Perfect hotel
Perfect
Everything was perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed my time!
Very nice hotel with a wonderful restaurant and right by the train station
Convenient location !
Staff is superior !.Place is a piece of History in busy Roma but so well located because it is just around the corner of main train station. Also walking distances ( walking ;)) to other attractions. Good option for average traveler so do speak.
Good value near Termini
Finding a nice reasonably priced hotel near Termini is a chore. But this one I would be happy to return to.
Very clean, nice lobby and room. Good breakfast. Convenient to train station.
Lovely hotel! The location was perfect, the hotel was beautiful, the room was very comfortable. I loved the big bathroom and closet space for our luggage. Being so close to the train station and metro was perfect for us. The staff was very nice and helpful. I will stay there again when I return.
Perfect if you need to stay near Termini, but close to so much else. Lovely staff, great room. There was a stretch of hallway that looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in a while, but otherwise everything impeccable!
Great hotel near train station
Lovely hotel. Situated perfectly near the train station so that I could get the train to the airport the day I left. The breakfast was delicious
Very nice hotel
Good location, near train terminal and many restaurants nearby. Rooms small but comfortable. AC could have been better since it was very hot weather in Rome.
Very close to a Metro stop, bus station and the train station were definite pluses. The only negative was that in the morning the balcony view was of a side street covered with trash. But on the positive it was cleaned up each mid-morning. It is also indicative of how all the side streets are after an evening of nightlife. Would definitely come back.
Nice place near the train station
Great place to stay in room when you have to take the train to the airport early the next morning. Great hotel, great location, friendly and efficient staff.
Don´t stay here!
Barman never showed up in 3 days, Air conditioner did not work, Wi Fi in the room was useless, did not work at all, only in the bathroom, hotel restaurant service was way too slow and rude
My favourite stay in Italy
I absolutely love this hotel the location is incredible you’re right next to the train station but also just a beautiful walking area great shopping the people that work here amazing and the breakfast in the morning is to die for I love this hotel I already miss it I’m definitely coming back
Hotel was lovely and historic in style. Only downside was the area which is very near train station. The location is both a plus and minus. It’s great when getting off the train, but a little iffy when staying in the area.
beautiful hotel near termini
I love the old-fashioned but elegant style of the hotel. So conveniently near Roma termini, bus stops, and restaurants. The staff is very nice, especially the lady with glasses and short hair at the counter (forgot her name, Monica maybe?). So pleasant, so kind, so service-oriented, not bossy like some. It would have been perfect if they had a coffeemaker or perculator in all rooms. It was cold and rainy that week. Also a heater/drying rack in the toilet.
Very nice property. Close to the train station.
Stayed at sister property
NOTICE: August 2021 - Our reservation was at this hotel but we were put up at the sister hotel across the street (Betoja Hotel Mediterraneo) because this one is closed. We enjoyed our stay across the street and their rood top bar is amazing. Rome at this time did not have many tourists. Great location if traveling with train.
Very convenient place, clean hotel, comfortable bed. Full of character with historic furnishings
Beautiful hotel, in keeping with its history. Modernised, but keeps its charm.
The hotel is of a good standard and is close to the city centre, it being only a 20-25 minute walk to the Colosseum. We found the staff to be not only polite, efficient and professional, but also friendly and helpful. Any query was answered comprehensively with a smile, helping to make our visit a most enjoyable experience. If I have the privilege of returning to Rome in the future, something which I would like to do, there is no doubt that I will be booking a room at the Hotel Massimo D'Azeglio. Thank you to all there; I hope to be back.
Really convenient for train station and tourist sites in Rome
The hotel was nice but the room could have been cleaned better. There was so much dust under the beds there were actually clumps.
Great location, convenient to Roma Termini - getting to and from the airport was effortless. Nice shopping and excellent food court at the station. The staff was wonderful. We arrived early on a red eye flight and we went to check our bags but they were able to accommodate us a little earlier. Wonderful boutique hotel!
Great location close to the main train station (less than 5 min walk with suitcases
Location has easy access to train and metro station, Coliseum is walkable distance. Hotel showing a little wear, breakfast only fair, some front desk staff seemed a little grumpy.
This hotel was lovely. The room was comfortable and clean. The location of the hotel was near the Spanish Steps. It is central to all shops and central to seeing all the sites Rome has to offer.
This old hotel is very well maintained and clean. The room is spacious. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. We were allowed early check in due to our early flight into Rome.
Great location!
Excellent location next to Roma Termini. The hotel is ok great shape and the service was very good. The included breakfast was ok.

Great hotel near Roma Termini
We stayed here for one night while waiting to depart on the train. Great location! Lots of restaurants. The downstairs bar was very enjoyable. Be sure to ask for a room with a view.
