My family and I checked in on a Friday night. The air conditioner was not working in the room. I called the front desk to ask the lady who check if someone could come and check the air. We waited 20 minutes, no one ever came. I called back to the front desk and the lady said she was checking people in and could come as soon as she had a break. We waited 2 hours for someone to come. No one came, I asked if we could switch to another room. She stated there were no other rooms available. I asked for a refund she said she couldn’t give a refund. She called her manager who refused to speak to me on the phone and said he wouldn’t be able to give a refund until the next day. The lady at the front desk said a room would be available the next day and they could move us or have someone look at the air. We stayed only because there weren’t any other available hotels in Lake Charles due to a large Volleyball Tournament, which we were also in town for. We were never moved to another room, no one ever called or came to fix the air the next day. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life! No one wants to travel and have to experience the things that we experience staying at Best Western. I finally got to speak to the manager 3 days after we checked out! He was rude, unapologetic, and offered a free upgrade on our next stay! I would NEVER stay at that hotel again! Save yourself the this trouble and hassle, choose a better hotel.

It took 30 minutes to check in, only one person at desk after second one walked off with four people in line. Only one person for front desk and breakfast area on Sunday morning, so everything running out and no one available to refill.

Great place to stay, but the free breakfast was limited. Could have been better with more food choices including fresh fruit.

Our stay was excellent: clean and spacious room, great choices for breakfast and close to our destination. Staff was very friendly.

Great hotel. Great service. Great beds. Although we did ask for an accessible room with a shower seat and did not get one. We were told the room had one but did not. Also, the fridge was not cold. Other than that the hotel was nice. The girl that checked us in was very nice too.

This is my normal place to stay when I visit LC but this time was concerning. We stayed in room 209 and felt like the only thing holding us up was the carpet. The entire floor where the carpet started to the 2nd bed felt like a big hole underneath. It caused me to stumble more than once, falling onto the bed at one point, because it was so bad. This should be taken care of ASAP before someone goes straight through! The young lady that checked us in was super sweet! The breakfast staff and woman that was there Sunday morning to check us out, not so friendly at all!

Everything was good and quiet. TV was not working properly but front desk lady changed the cable and TV was working. Everything was good.

What i didn't like about this hotel i am a women that wear makeup while using face towels to wipe my makeup off my face before bed i was charged $50 for makeup on a towel i have never heard of any such thing ever when stay at any hotel keep in mind that these towels are used they are not new they have been used plenty of times over and over also the sink in the restroom the water didnt let out it stayed letting out very slow and the refrigerator didn't work so what im saying before you come for your customers make sure you have your property right it should have been stated on a receipt or an invoice Statement when checking in if you are going to charged someone something don't you think i paid for the towels send them to me not charged me for them to and keep my $50 deposit for them and also when sitting a reservation you are not telling your customers that you are being charged for a $50 deposit so you are making me feel as a customer feel that you are charging everyone that enters you Hotel this price for tedious THINGS please beware........

This hotel was good. It was pretty clean modern.

Really hard to get extra towels and shampoo- actually never got any after asking housekeeping (no English) was their response and front desk couldn’t find any..but it was a quiet room with great ac.

Wont recommend

I booked a room for my husband and I for his birthday. I called and asked if there was a way the hotel could possibkly set up baloons and a cake if I had it delivered to the room and was told to call back later. I decided not to because it seemed like that was too much to ask for. When we got there, the sweet girl from Kenya got us booked in and ready to go. We went to our room, got ready for the concert we were attending that night. When we came back, the room was humid and cool but not 68 at where we set the AC. We got back to the room around 1230am. I went to the front desk and spoke with the night girl ( from Nepal) and asked for an extra blanket, a towel and washrag. She said she was going to check the laundry and bring it to the room. This NEVER happened. At 6am, we checked out. The room was so hot and humid, neither of us slept. We had still been waiting on a towel and washrag and never got those, so we decided to just make the drive home as swe were both exhausted and tired. I notified the front desk who was the same night person and her only reply was " oh I thought you were coming to get the blanket. I reminded her that she said she was going to bring it to me and didnt." I advised her of the AC and she said she was sorry and told me she was from Nepal and her english was broken. Very nice girl I just dont think she was able to understand some of our advanced English compared to Nepal's english in which she said this herself.

My Best Western Stay was really good staff was very pleasant, daily breakfast was good the not so good things sheets and towels are old and dingy bed pillows as well everything should have been replaced I'm sure this is not the first comment about bedding etc.hope there's improvement upon my next trip

The restrooms down stairs were out of order. I informed the front desk but it wasn’t addressed.

Decent for a quick stay. Not upscale but felt safe and overall clean, although the hallways had an odd smell and the rooms overall are dated.

Ive been in 32 states and this was by far the worst.I would describe it as a hole in the wall.But even a hole in the wall could have been cleaner Where do I start.The bathroom was disgusting ,there was mold growing on the shower walls ,the sliding shower doors was spotted and mold ridden.The full breakfast that they call it was tasteless and cold .This was my one and done.

More communication on cleaning the rooms if you stay more than one day. Other than that our stay was excellent

Best Stay in North Miami Always

Staff super friendly and professional. Bryan at the front desk very welcoming and friendly. Entire staff all the way down to housekeeping very professional and welcoming. This hotel staff is always pleasant no matter who is at the front desk. The young lady with beautiful makeup forgive me I forgot her name but she was so sweet! Oscar reassured my reservations and everything was set two weeks prior to my arrival. I’ve been staying here now for 8yrs I highly recommend this hidden jewel!

Entrance smelled terrible, toliet was loose, room was noisy, unable to close curtains to keep sun out and lights at night--unable to sleep, pillows were lumpy & uncomfortable, unfriendly ant ine single smile from front desk employees, noise in walls when water was on in bathroom sink. Tv was great and easy to operate. Refrigerator worked magnificent. However, we will never stay there again even if free.

Stayed one night. Very clean room. Staff was cordial and attentive. Shower head needed updating and shampoo provided could be better but nothing that would keep me from staying there again.

It was a nice hotel, not quite what I was expecting from a best western plus. Room was nice and spacious. I wasn’t a fan of the bed. It needs to be posted that the indoor pool is not heated. So if you are looking to swim the pool is freezing! Breakfast was good with lots of options.

Fast easy check in. Hotel was clean and quiet. Beds were firm, not as comfy as I prefer but I would still stay here again.

The stay was great but we left for breakfast came back and their was still 30 min before checkout and the lady that was collecting the sheets and making the bed was in their already claming she was given the go ahead it was uncomfortable because we left our valuables out because we were packed and ready to leave soon but imagine if we would have hotten their and our things gone other then that all was great we enjoyed the stay

It could've been better

The hostess wasn't very cheerful, but did accommodate us. The room she gave us had a mildew smell to it like the carpet had been cleaned but it stunk everytime you walked in. The beds were permanently dented on the sides and it made it very difficulty to sleep.

The property itself was nice however the hotel is dim. The lighting was not bright at all and the hotel had this smell. Cannot pinpoint what it was but gave my entire family a headache. We booked here for the indoor pool due to weather was supposed to be bad this weekend however the pool is not heated and was colder inside the pool area than outside. That really upset me. Great breakfast and the staff that was over it was ontop of keeping things stocked.

Excellent Hotel

Our stay was excellent, The only issue we had was there were kids running up and down the halls at midnight, yelling, laughing, and slamming doors. They woke us up several times. Very disrespectful and rude.

The room was really big and very clean. The staff were friendly.

Everything was great. The hotel was nice & very well kept. They even allowed us to check in a little early.

We had a plumbing issue that required a room change. The breakfast also did not change throughout the stay. And it is tough to walk around the hotel because there are no sidewalks.

It was quiet and the staff was friendly and competent.

We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning when in Lake Charles.

Not Terrible

Check in went smoothly. The room especially the bathroom could have used a good deep cleaning. The shower needed to be bleached since it was black at the edges and corners. Not sure if they ever scrubbed the glass in the shower. You can see the spots pretty clearly.I think it needed a good scrub and spray of window cleaner. Towels were clean though kind of a cheap quality. It's something that would be issued to you during basic military training. It wasn't bad but it could be better. For the price you pay I would stay again just not expect too much.

The cleanliness was exceptional. The manager was so congenial and helpful. It was so convenient to everything we wished to see and do. Great breakfast. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Overnight Casino Stay

Great stay for 1 night. Not far from entertainment/casinos. Fair Breakfast options. I wanted to use the pool, but it seemed cloudy and maybe needed attention. I would still stay here again. Comfortable big room, clean and appreciate that it was furnished with fridge and microwave.
