Love it !!! Stay here everytime I come to McCallen

Stay at holiday inn express instead.

I was 2hrs early to check in I asked if I could check in early..she said I could but it’s $25 fee..even though my room is ready I still had to pay extra $25 to get in..I have stayed at other hotels and if my room was ready they would let me in no charge..the girl was rude when I walked up to the counter she didn’t greet me..breakfast is a joke very cheap breakfast for the price you’re paying…room was nice but I definitely will never stay here again.

The hotel is really old, and has that old smell. The Room was fine. The Room was clean and then we round a desde cockroach under a table.

The room was really clean and well stocked. We got there early and they put us in a room before check in time. We had just got off a 8hr flight. This was very much appreciated!!

Understaffed at the check in counter, at check in time, on a Saturday that kicks of a major holiday week, is not proper planning. This creates a bottle neck and unnecessarily long lines and disgruntled guests at the start of their stay. Could have been easily avoided. Breakfast was ok.

THE UBICATION IS GREAT

Everything ok

The tv didn't work. There was no hot water when I arrived. No freezer to freeze my icepacks. I travel with insulin. Not a great experience.

My favorit hotel

everything is always clean and pleasant, it is my favorite stay in McAllen

My reservation was arriving Friday and leaving on Sunday. I called on Friday (they say we were supposed to arrive) to tell the property I will be arriving until Saturday and asked to hold my reservation. I arrived on Saturday to try to check in and my room was no longer available. Front desk and management were kind to find us a room in another property but the experience was truly uncomfortable. Not what we expected from a trustworthy hotel chain as Best Western.

The hotel was better than I expected. Besides the loud guests, I had no specific issues with the hotel and the accommodations itself. I would recommend others to stay and I would stay here again.

Great hotel

Great location rooms are nice and comfortable the only issue is that we weren't notified of modifications being done to the hotel and were awakened in the morning with banging and shouting of the worker's.

I would say that the breakfast could be much better.

The staff are great.

Good location. Main room door ajar and/or with gap and unable to have complete seal. Old towels. Very dirty carpet stains. Totally did not expect from Best Western as previous experiences at other locations much, much better.

Staff was able to assign a room with not too much traffic noise. The tub was annoying water dripped out of the faucet all night. Couldn’t get the hot water to work correctly

We like the easy access to the expressway and the places for shopping.

Not like the other best western that I have visited most likely looks like a motel

Roaches

The place is out dated. To much noise. Most places check in time is 2 here is 3. Just wasn’t Happy with the service!

No hot water. Had to let water run for 15 mins justcto get warm water. Told staff they said that happens.

Check in and out was super easy and quick. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed one night, there was one noise problem in the shopping center at the back of the hotel, but the staff handled it quickly and we had a very peaceful night. The room was clean, breakfast was good, we will most definitely stay again.

Room card kept deactivating but overall great stay.

Everything was going as planed buy at the time of leaving the hotel I was in a hurry and I forgot my Phone I noticed it right away but I check with another device and showed that it was at the hotel I went to do what I needed to do thinking that I was going to get it back I remember where I left it and everything but no they said that no one found anything I don’t like problems but I do report them and they where aggressive when I came back so I did not get my phone back

Place was clean and comfortable. It’s an older hotel but it’s very clean and the folks were very helpful. 4.5 stars

Hotel staff friendly and attentive. Staff running the breakfast were extra attentive, quickly replenishing finished items and cleaning up eating area. Our room was right by the stairs/bar area which was loud from upstairs guests going in and out through the night.

There was not hot water it was just warm

Was great, clean , nice and good price. I don’t like I had to leave a deposit… I guess should have to be made a list of people who are not the best or the worst guests. Because we never had made any damage in a hotel.

Friendly people, very well staffed house keeping people were everywhere. Very clean and just a simple place to get a good nights rest. The Toucan Lounge was also a fun place with locals and guests. Breakfast was very nice too.

Customer service was great and the place is was so close to the mall and different restaurants.

Mucho ruido

Very clean but very noisy area early in the morning. Beds are very firm.

A very pleasant 2-night stay in McAllen, there in the famous Rio Grande Valley birding area. "Easy parking" because after the CHALLENGE of patiently driving through the road construction on the road fronting the property, there is plenty of parking around the motel, and we felt safe parking there. "Quiet" because despite the roadways, inside the facility and our rooms seemed calming, quiet to me. All staff in all areas were pleasant and helpful! Our original room was fine enough. Then as we prepared for bed the over-sink light fixture bulb burnt out, and we were promptly offered & pleasantly changed to an upgraded room. Only issue with that nice room was the few gnats that we believe were coming out of the sink overflow and drain. Beds and all were comfortable. Breakfast was very good, and the morning hostess was wonderfully pleasant.

It was near the stores

Very nice clean rooms, not enough hot water, lots of road noisy, comfortable beds and pillows, very friendly employees. Over stay was good!😊

Hotel clean, comfortable, good ubication and a friendly staff close some stores. The breakfast was simple but is very good The best for me, was that the hotel was cleaning

Very relaxing something near where we need it from the hospital

The rooms need renovation, towels are old and super small, bath tub needs full restoration, laking lighting at bathroom counter, you can hear all the noise from outside, at night we could feel that some one was trying to open our door, but it was next door. Cleaning was needed, there were hairs on bathroom tub, floor, toilet, etc. Thank fully we only stayed one night.

We have made yearly trips to McAllen and we always stay here. Room was clean and mattress was comfortable. Very friendly and courteous staff. Looking forward to visiting again.

Except for the noise level from the busy freeway out front all was good!,

This would have been a 4-star review had it not been for an incident that occurred in the neighboring parking lot during my stay. Property is run by a courteous staff, and the rooms are clean. Good location near Medical Center. Breakfast is so-so. No fitness facility. During my stay, a large group of rowdy muscle car drivers gathered in an adjoining shopping center parking lot at night for a party about 30 yards outside our doors. They played loud conjuto music, revved their loud engines, peeled out, etc. Not the hotel’s fault, but the McAllen Police refused to act on the manager’s complaints until hotel guests started calling. The mob was made to leave at about 9pm but returned with more muscle cars and loud noise at 10:00 pm. about 45 minutes later, the MPD made them move on after more guest complaints. Needless to say, I checked out the next morning and moved to another hotel. This has happened before. according to the manager and another negative reviewer. Unless and until the MPD is willing to take action to permanently put a stop to this, you should stay elsewhere.

The relatioship service-price. Very convenient. Good service.

Visited McAllen area to enjoy some birdwatching in the LRGV. Really convienent location nearby to highway to head out for a days exploration either going west or east. Even South Padre Is. was not that far away. A quick breakfast at 6:30 am from Dahlia and her crew, with some coffee to go and ice from ice machine in a small cooler and I was off by 7:15 am each day for birding adventures!

Rented this room for a wedding and the service was great! The lady at the front desk made us feel welcomed and comfortable! We had a bottom floor room with parking right out front which was definitely a plus! My family enjoyed our stay!

Great location and close to attractions, shopping, and eating places.

The room are big and alot of space. Pool is clean to enjoy. Just a few large roachs in the bathroom. Other then that very happy with everything including the staff.

Nice place

Noisy people in the room above. Noisy, illegal event in the adjacent parking lot. The heater didn't work. Showerhead water pressure was barely sufficient. Room was clean.

Came for the weekend for my daughter will stay at this location again

Excellent choice. Close to plaza mall and everything. Bedroom really clean and with coffee machine, microwave and mini bar. The breakfast is simply delicious. We didn’t use the pool because it was really cold but it looked really great and clean too. It’s a great choice.

The mattress of the sofa bed was no comfortable, otherwise everything was fine

everything is perfect but I think the hotel staff should be stricter with the guests at breakfast time. Clearly the hotel has signs asking for the use of masks but many guests do not wear them, I even had the experience that one of the guests arrived coughing, covering his hands and then serving himself food, incredibly irresponsible.

Not the best check in experience

Check in was not a great customer service experience. We waited at reception desk for quite some time in order to be able to check in. Only one attendant at the desk who spent a considerable period of time on the phone with another customer, then left to go to the back and back on the phone again before ever greeting us. Finally got her attention and she started checking in when the phone rang again. She checked us in while talking on the phone to another customer - very distracted. She handed us the keys and thought she was done so we had to interrupt her phone conversation in order to figure out where the room was and the internet access instructions.
