this is a lovely hotel, rooms are small but adequate. breakfast is good, better, some days then others. staff is great. great area with lots to see and do, and easy to get to other areas of Rome.
The twin room was smaller than expected. Otherwise neat and comfortable.
Very nice
It was far from happening places
This property was nice. The room was extremely small for 2 people. The room had great amenities. The breakfast was nice. The bus stop is directly by the hotel. That’s an added plus. I would stay here again.
Great hotel and staff
The bed sheets had stains, no access to the balcony and the area was not the best
The hotel had a really convenient location which is close to many restaurants and even the Colosseum. The room was well appointed and had everything we needed. Breakfast was very delicious as well
Very helpful and cheerful staff
Clean and good location. The staff were very helpful and polite. Definitely recommend
This property is not located near anything to see for a tourist. There is a bus stop across the street that takes you to the colosseum which was nice. Some food/restaurant options within walking distance.
Will never stay here again! Uncooperative staff, aging infrastructure, tiny bathrooms and dirty beds make for a perfect disaster recipe. The thermostats were so archaic that their own staff couldn’t figure out how to work them and we had to wait for two hours before someone figured out how to turn the AC on! The headboards were dirty and full of oil stains from previous occupants!! The bathrooms are so tiny that you could hit your head against the sink while getting up from the toilet or bump your elbows again IST the wall while drying yourself after a shower!!! We had booked two triple rooms and asked for adjacent rooms as we were one family - they said they would try to. The staff never told us they only had one triple room on each floor and that it would be impossible to get two rooms on the same floor - we were forced to downgrade one of the rooms so we could get rooms on the same floor but they forced us to pay for the rooms we originally booked saying it was our “choice” to be downgraded!!!! Terrible - please do yourself a favor and go to Hotel President which is barely a mile away from this one and is a much much better hotel.
It was clean and the location was good
Good value for the price. It was our first trip to Rome and the staff were excellent. Breakfast service was great.
Good value
When I made the reservation. I saw that the property was family friendly and had a laundry facility. With all the traveling we were doing, having a laundry facility was very important at that moment.
We were given a room in the 8th floor of the building. While the view was amazing from the room's windows, the room itself did not meet our standards and expectations. More specifically, the room's interior design was old and unattractive, and the spaces were inconvenient, except perhaps from the bathroom. The bed was uncomfortable and of low quality, while there were stains on the walls. The exterior of the room, i.e. the outer side of the windows and their sills were very dirty too. Its worst feature, though, was the fact that it was right next to the breakfast room and the room's door did not have any soundproofing. Hence, every day, we were forced to wake up around 6.30-7am due to loud noises from the breakfast area which continued until 10-11am. I believe the management should provide a clear warning before giving these rooms to travellers. On the bright side, breakfast had lots of options and all of them were fresh and delicious. The bathroom along with the supplied products and facilities (shampoos, hot water, towels etc.) was also fine. The location of the hotel is very convenient too, since the subway is very close (a few minutes walk), while one can also walk to the historical centre should they wish to do so (around 30mins walking distance).
Noise from the toilet
The sewage system needs a lot of improvement. When other rooms flush the toilet, I could hear from my bathroom the noise of the running water. I woke up several times at night because of that.
horrible stay seemed worse than a hostel. small in size barely functional windows, unprepared rooms, was a decent location is only positive.
Really comfortable room, comfortable bed, nice balcony, bathroom, great service. Exceeded our expectations.
Average stay hotel
Very welcoming and kind staff at reception, was offered a bottle of wine at check-in on the house (gold exclusives), room was ok, bed was confortable. Parking will be an issue here as well as very limited breakfast offer
The girl at the checkin was very efficient and good looking
Was happy and would stay again here
Nice facility it worked great for our needs of seeing Rome and the Vatican city. Maximilian or Max who work the front desk gave us great information and details on our map to get around Rome using public transportation if you want, which we did use the bus Because it picks you up right in front of the hotel and can drop you off too right in front of the hotel depending on which one you use it was very convenient for us to see all of Rome and make it to Vatican City.
Best Hotel in Rome
This hotel is probably the best option for staying in Rome. Its location, size of the room, affordability and cleanliness are outstanding. We were able to walk everywhere we needed even though we had the option of the busses, taxis or subway right on our doorstep. The restaurants and shops in the area were fantastic. Having an affordable grocery store across the road made buying water and provisions for the day much easier and considerably cheaper than anywhere else. The bed was very comfortable and large. The lift to the room was a bit small, we couldn't fit out pram in, but the front desk unlocks the other larger lift for us to get to our room when required. The view from the breakfast room was amazing. There was scrambled egg and toast for those that wanted a warm breakfast and a nespresso machine for decent coffee. The front desk gave us a free map and gave us advise on restaurants. Their English was very good.
Hotel was very clean and nice. The rooms were extremely tiny and we could here all noises made by surrounding guests.
The property is in a very nice and convenient location and the hotel staff is friendly. But that’s about it. Rooms are tiny, bathrooms are tiny. The hotel does not have a gym or restaurant. The elevators are tiny. The TV does not have any channels in English and no subtitles either. When you call the front desk they insist that there is one such channel in English, but alas it does not exist. They allowed me to check in early, that was a positive. Overall this hotel is not recommended for long stays I. E more than one day and definitely not a place for families with kids.
wonderful stay in Rome
was very nice. clean and roomy and close to all transportation and hotel desk services was very helpful. breakfast was awesome
Great service level and very clean!
I found the BW hotel Piccadilly to be surprisingly good, in very good condition and not to forget: very clean and hygienic. Very professional and service minded staff. Good breakfast too. Will absolutely stay again. Strongly reccomended.
Clean, central, has all necessities good service everything as stated staff amazing
Close to San Giovanni and Ri di Roma stations easy transit out of Rome traffic
Great location, helpful staff, comfortable room, first rate breakfast with view on top floor, and excellent local restaurant recommendations.
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel overall. The service was very good and it had what I needed. My only concern was that my room was very small - even though I was travelling alone!
Fantastic view from the breakfast room, rich breakfast, good noise reducing windows, variety of nice restaurants in the neighborhood, good connection to public transport
I liked the breakfast service and the cafeteria staff The cleaning crew was good The hotel front desk was a total disappointment and made me feel unwelcome The property feels dated Accessibility for people with disabilities is zero in this hotel
Great staff, clean, modern, awesome breakfast!
This is a very nice hotel. It was clean and modern, and the staff was VERY attentive and accommodating. There is a nice lobby to hang out in, and the breakfast room is very nice. The complimentary breakfast was sensational! Eggs, bacon, meats, cheese, yogurt, variety of pastries, coffee, cappuccino, etc. The breakfast staff was great and the view of the city from the breakfast room is fabulous! The only negatives I would give this property, is that is not near all of the Rome attractions, it would be a 40 min. walk. However, there is a city bus #87 you can pick up in front of the hotel and it takes you right into the heart of everything. We took a cab to the Vatican one day and it was 20 Euros. To get to the elevator from the street, you do have to go up 6-8 stairs, so if you can't do stairs this is the hotel for you. The elevator was tiny, about 4'x4'. The beds were a little firm for my liking and the pillows were flat. I could have used a second pillow. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the street below and that was nice. The windows had automatic room darkening shades, which were awesome. I would stay at this property again.
The hotel is close to all attractions
Walking distance to most attractions, less than 10 minutes on the train to the Vatican @ €1.50 fare
disappointed!!!!
Upon arrival hair was on the white sheets. Desk clerk at 1:30 am in the morning brought me sheets to change myself. He was apologetic . Upon departure the another front desk man was HORRIBLE! Rude when asked for the shuttle. I mention I needed the shuttle in the morning he said too late. In the morning he said “ Nobody does anything for free!
Nice hotel
Nice hotel, very quiet. The hotel is in a safe area, away from the tourist area but with very easy access via metro. Personnel is very helpful.
Good location. Very comfortable bathroom. Nice staff. Very noise.
Great hotel, close enough to San Giovanni tube station. Breakfast was cheap and good enough. Room was clean and the bed was soooooo comfy 😁👍
Good location and helpful staff
Romsn Holiday
Nice hotel just out of the city with lots of good restaurants and cafes close by. The metro station was a short walk away giving excellent access to all the tourist hit spots.
a GOOD CLEAN AND FRIENDLY SMALL HOTEL
We had a really good stay in this small friendly hotel which was close to the tube station and most sites could be reached on foot if you like to walk. We clocked up 30 miles walking and covered most of the main sites in our time in Rome. Very well priced for Rome, and a little cheaper for going through Expedia. Our room was small but well appointed and clean. Would recommend....
hotel Piccadilly magna grecia rome
we have stayed in hotels all over the world this is up there as one of the best.Close to all tourist sights some within walking distance bus and subway stops almost at the door should you wish to use them the 2euro breakfast is excellent value for money we would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting rome.Liz&Tony Hixson.
Good hotel, room bigger than others I stayed, good and low cost breakfast, about 5 minutes walk to metro station, you can find restaurants in the neighborhood and it is safe to walk late, to improve air condition because it makes noise, very nice staff they preparated breakfast to take away to the airport because we lived early,
centrally located to Colosseum and St. John Latera
Great location to see the Colosseum and St. John Lateran. Great staff, and very helpful.
Great stay
Bed super comfortable and quite spacious for Rome.
Picccadilly Hotel/ Rome
Hotel Piccadilly is in a great location. Near Metro and walking distance to Colosseum. The staff were helpful and polite. Breakfast buffet is quite god and cheap. I'd stay there again especially at their low price for Rome.
very basic hotel, but ok after all
very basic hotel, but ok after all
Friendly staff, clean and comfortable, smallish room but still good facilities. Breakfast for 2 Euro per person, was ridiculously good value.
great city location
3rd time in Rome and this has to have been a great stay. From check in to check out each member of staff were friendly, approachable and upmost accommodating. Breakfast here is a must, fee is minimal and there is a varied choice. It really does set you up for the day. Close to the metro and great food nearby. Only minor issues are the size of the lift, at most you can get 3 people inside. The other issue is that walls are quiet thin, I could hear conversations of other guest and the noise from their tv, but please do not let this put you off. The hotel offers all you need for your time visiting Rome.
Very good staff , clean , warm ! I will go again !
Nice hotel in a quiet neighborhood
Staff were very friendly. View from the breakfast floor is really nice, overlooking Rome.
Nice hotel, very close to all attractions
Nice hotel and very close to all attractions using the public transportation. Close to shopping malls. Nice breakfast. Some of the hotel have attitude issue and they should learn some manners when talking to their guests.
very friendly staff
The staff in the hotel were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent. The best I've had for a very long time.
Good hotel near a Metro station
Everything went well - check-in, check-out, etc. Excellent breakfast, good room and bed. Great location.
roman holiday
Great city this was my fourth visit .Walked nine miles one day in thirty degree heat to see the sites. We had plenty of beer stops on route along with our two sons we all loved it.
Clean and close to metro
Very dissatisfied withe the lifts. one tiny lift only carried two people at a time was only one available and eight floors to negotiate. Also TV stations very poor for satellite. Three English speaking channels all Chinese based.no BBC or sky based so poor for a best western
Nice hotel close to the San Giovani Metro station
Hotel was very modern, bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were very helpful and polite. Elevator was very small and there are several steps before you get to the elevator. Would be difficult if you had a prblem with luggage and stairs. Bathroom is extremely narrow, but highly functional for one person to use at a time. Good shelving for putting toiletries in the bathroom. Refrigerator in the room was handy. Lots of mirrors and plenty of strage place for bags and clothes.
The hotel lobby is on the third floor. Small elevator to lobby and only 3 person elevator to other floors.
Very clean rooms. Ideal location considering price point!!
Good value for money hotel
The hotel provided all we needed with particularly helpful staff. The 8th floor breakfast room gave spectacular views across the city as we ate a really good continental breakfast for only €2 each. This included free nespresso coffee. Very quiet, blacked out bedroom. Small but we'll appointed rooms.
Practical place to stay at night in Rome
Close to metro , could improve breakfast , nice welcome gesture
Room was very comfortable, although no view from the room. The service from the reception staff was mixed from very helpful to not helpful at all depending on who you get. The hotel itself was a little too far from the majority of city sights, which I had not appreciated. Something further central rome would have been preferable given the amount of walking you end up doing. Although the hotel's shower was amazing!
Nice hotel and friendly helpful staff
Clean room, nice hotel close to major attractions and restaurants, great price
Hotel is in a nice area of Rome
It's close to the metro and also have some supermarkets in the area and local cafe/bar for food. There is a nice restaurant there as well.
Great hotel in Rome.
This is a great hotel with an excellent location and spectacular views. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, the price is very good, especially given the excellent location. The buffet breakfast is great and inexpensive, and it is served in a cafeteria with a spectacular view of Rome.
Experience Rome worthwhile.
Quick, comfortable and pretty much central to all types of transportation.
Good place,but poor shower room
Good hotel with metro station nearby, but the shower room was under bad ventilation. Smell is not good and lots of vapor when use it
Nice hotel!
the room was good, staff was great and breakfast was very tasty! The only thing I can complain is about the noise. The door did not isolate the sound completely and you could hear the people talking in the corridor.
If Rome isn't on your bucket list it should be
5 day break for sight seeing. Walked just short of 80 miles in our 5 days. Visited St Peters, the Vatican museums, the Colosseum, Castel San Angelo, the Spanish Steps (currently under refurbishment so not completely accessible), the Forum, Palantine Hill, Circus Maximus, Piazza Navone, the Trevi Fountain, the Victor Emanuelle, the Pyramid and the unbelievable, magnificent Pantheon. Walked along the Tiber to gain access to many of these sights and, for anyone who has visited Rome and not walked alongside the Forum at night, you should go back and do it. For me Rome is the best place in Europe for a city break
Ok Hotel
Great location. Close to Metro station. Rome Termini is only three stops to go to the airport FCO and elsewhere. Bus stop in front of the hotel to take you to all points of interest. Men at the front desk not very helpful except for one who gives good directions but I forgot his name. My room included breakfast but was not able to use it. TV didn't work but it's ok for me. I will come back and just ignore the men at the front desk. Ladies are better.
The hotel is very good, namely: breakfast, room cleaning, hotel service, near to the Metro station, catedral, shopping, restaurants.
very clean and modern hotel
We had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel, we stayed for 4 nights and was very impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel and how modern it was! it looks even nicer than on the pictures! the breakfast was of a very high standard considering it was only continental breakfast they provided bacon and eggs and also unlimited Espressos! the breakfast room is on the 8th floor with an unbelievable view of rome! the staff are also very helpful and let us check in early and store our bags later! the hotel is located on a busy street a 5 minute walk from a main metro station that gets you anywhere!
Best western review
We stayed for seven nights at the best western Piccadilly our room was small but the service we received was good.the food was acceptable but with no variation.
one bad staff member could ruin it all
we ordered a wake up call, didn't receive it! evening service in lounge was dreadful-staff busy on cell in kitchen. one sarcastic and condescending staff almost ruined the stay. shout out to ivan who fixed the problems and salvaged our visit! comfort room was not what we booked, it was loud, resulting in us having to move our room to the one we booked
One night in Rome
A missed plane connection in Chicago shortened my stay at the Picadilly from two nights to one. I found the staff at the Picadilly accommodating and trustworthy. Prior to my stay I made a couple of inquiries about different issues since this was my first stay in Rome. Veronica was quick to respond and answered my questions. The room was comfy, clean and secure. The location near the metro station is another nice convenience.
Best Western Hotel Piccadilly
Nice hotel but nothing near to eat if you are staying with kids.
awsome family trip
we had a great stay at the hotel room small good breakfast due to being vegetarain not much choice for meals we found 1 restaraunt just round the corner where very helpful all staff where very helpful and always asked if we require anything
Nice Hotel, stayed at this hotel twice in 2 years.
Nice little place, Well located in a nice neighborhood. Air conditioner not working in many rooms including ours.
It was a good quiet and clean room. A problem was that we were charged for two rooms. The desk personnel were not helpful, "you have paid for two rooms, no refund". We showed our one confirmation for one room, two people, one night.
Nice hotel, very friendly staff. A little noisy between rooms. Location was good. Amenities were great, staff prepared a breakfast box for me for my early flight.
Very close to S Giovani as well as Metro. Street is safe. Only problem is the elevator take 3-4 ppl and there is only one. So for breakfast u can wait for few minutes to go up to breakfast floor
Super quality and price for Rome
The first room on the second floor street side we got was very noisy because of the traffic . Then the front desk clerk transferred us on the 7 floor wich was more peaceful to sleep . Great hotel and location easy to get around the bus wright in front of the hotel . Amazing breakfast buffet and staff . Especially Ivan was very helpful for any info.
Rating
Great hotel with a friendly, welcoming staff. Also the breakfast was excellent.
Close to the metro
Walking distance to metro, 24h staff. Room was clean but very small, sort of loud being on a main road
City Break In Rome - May 2015
Nice hotel, just what you need for a city break. Road outside is a little busy and noisy at commuting times. Breakfast is okay, needs a little more selection and hot water for tea!! It was always only "warm"
Good little hotel.
Good quality small hotel with friendly staff most of which are good or reasonable English speakers. Good breakfast buffet and evening free buffet with purchase of a drink. Handily placed for plenty of eating establishments and bus/metro to Rome's attractions. Only down side is it is 8 storeys high with a tiny lift that is fought over at breakfast time.
Good hotel close to all facilities
We stayed here 3 years ago and found it an excellent venue. Hotel had all we required for a short visit. Excellent breakfast, plenty of good restaurants nearby, near the metro, bus stop outside hotel. It's within walking distance of the Collessium, Forum and other interesting sites. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. All we needed for our 5 night stay. We shall return again.
Below average NOT close to any place significant
Husband and I chose to stay here for 4 nights. Air conditioning did not work. We boiled all night and day. It was a relief everytime we left the room. We spoke to reception, they were nice but just said Italians don't switch on AC till summer. Ie. June. We went in April. It was 27'C when we were there and more humid in the room. No portable fans or AC available. No compensation even though AC was listed in amenities offered. The sink emitted a horrible smell from the drain I believe. Room was decently furnished. But it was tiny and cramped. Bathroom was otherwise okay. Room keys kept ceasing to work. Had to keep replacing at reception. The view from the window wasn't bad though from the 7th floor. But very noisy. Night or day. Sirens in Rome are on might and day every 5 mins. Location wasn't the best. Taxi to main sights or 25 min walk to colleseum. Closer to Campo de Fiori would've been better and more central. Or anywhere to the right of the river. Overall, hotel not recommended at all. For that price you can definitely do better.
GREAT STAY IN A FAB HOTEL
We stayed here for 3 nights - fabulous city centre hotel - very comfortable & amazingly quiet. Quite a trek from the main centre, but a pleasant walk nontheless! On the last day we realised there was a bus stop over the road - No 87 to the Colosseum for 1.5 Euros!! Staff were very pleasant & extremely helpful. Breakfast was a good continental selection, but on one morning we were later & not a lot left - didn't make that mistake again! The view from the restaurant panoramic window is amazing! Would certainly stay here again.
Comfortable and good value
Chose this hotel because it offered good facilities at reasonable prices and was very happy with my choice. Rooms not massive but better than some city centre hotels; access to shower is quite tight so may not suit everyone. Breakfast: fresh fruit salad, small selection of cereals, superb range of rolls and regional parties etc but hot choices limited to bacon and scrambled egg. Hotel does not have a bar or restaurant; although there are plenty of bars & cafes in immediate vicinity there's not much choice of restaurants/trattorias etc. Note that there are about 10 steps up from ground level to lift to reach hotel reception, so not good if you have mobility problems (or heavy luggage!)
Far far from all tourist sites
This hotel is in a area that is not safe. Graffiti on the streets. Far from everything.
Birthday Trip to Rome
No issues with the Hotel or facilities-the views were a nice surprise too while eating the excellent breakfast. Word of caution though-we left 5 Euros on the side(no amount really) when we went out, this had gone when we returned I mentioned this to Reception staff who were going to speak to the room cleaner. No resolution was given other than a 'Misunderstanding' and my money was given back without question which we thought was odd also. It did make me glad we had used the safe for our electronic devices/Documents and other cash as they may have gone also maybe??!!Just be mindful and use the safe in the room if you have one.
Nice basic hotel . Central. Clean. Friendly staff
Comfortable hotel, fulfilled our needs. Wifi poor in the bed room. Good at reception. Good location.
A Wee Gem of a Hotel
While not in the centre of Rome this wee hotel is very convenient for metro (5 min walk to San Giovanni)and is on a busy road with many buses. The rooms are small but the hotel is well set up and very clean. I liked the skirting board level striplights in the corridors and the use of mirrors to create an illusion of space.
Nice hotel close to the Metro
Good hotel in the heart of Rome close to the Metro , stores , shopping , restaurants
Good location metro very close
Helpful friendly staff. Good budget hotel. Very clean, comfortable bed, quiet for a good nights sleep after a day sightseeing. Great breakfast! Very good location - value for money
Sightseeing trip to Rome
Visited Rome to see the tourist sites. Hotel was in a good location, staff helpful and polite, rooms good and comfortable. Metro station is just down the road.
