Hotel is in a quiet area but within walking distance to most attractions. It is a great deal for the money and location . The room was clean, but somehow housekeeping failed to replenish toiletries…LOL …if you can live with that, I definitely recommend this hotel.
Hotel is a bit run down. Needs a refurb. Room was in poor condition. Room was clean though which was nice.
We wanted to be away from the noisy and touristic areas so we found this hotel and exceeded our expectations. Few metres away from La Famiglia which served amazing food and had very good table service at very little to zero euros coperto. Our first room had issues with shower drain and we requested a room change as a solution. We had a hiccup with a cleaner but they apologised. We also wanted a more modern rather than run down old hotel as we had while in other Italian cities while travelling in a budget so this hotel was perfect. Would come back here again.
It was a nice hotel.
There are a lot of stairs in this hotel. The rooms were very warm so I don’t know if the air was working right or if they didn’t have any.
Good location for the Train Termini, Central Rome and the Hop On - Hop Off buses. Lovely staff - very welcoming and helpful. Hotel is located in a quieter area, less traffic. Plenty of decent eateries nearby, all competitively priced.
My stay was brief, but the staff were accommodating, helpful, and friendly. The area is pleasant and quiet at night. Although the attractions are a bit far from the hotel so unless you enjoy walking you will have to use transportation, overall, my stay was enjoyable and comfortable.
Good budget hotel
Very good clean location, close to termini station, ideal for a short trip...
More like a 3 stars hotel compared with similar 4 star hotels in Rome.
Nice small hotel. The room is a little bit small, but good location. Not to far to train station and major sightseeing points.
It was in an ideal position for train and Metro access and had plenty restaurants nearby
Clean, comfortable room
Really clean hotel and a comfortable bed. Staff on the front desk were professional and helpful. As a solo traveller, I felt extremely safe both in the hotel and in the surrounding area. I got a hot shower and a good nights sleep every night. The whole city is walkable from here, although there are plenty of options of taxis or public transport. Some of the hotel is a bit tired, and there wasn't a kettle in the room, but i still think the stay was excellent.
Good location. Close to restaraunts, transportation. Clean. I felt safe as a solo traveller. Excellent breakfast. Staff very friendly.
We loved our stay at the Art Deco Hotel. Breakfast was delicious, but it was the amazing service and warm hospitality of all staff that made our stay memorable! We will undoubtedly stay here again!
We stayed one night and except for small room it was perfect for our needs
Good
The Best Western Artdeco hotel is located in a lovely older building. It could definitely use some updating, but the staff absolutely makes up for it! They offer a wonderful breakfast serviced by some of the most friendly people I’ve ever encountered!! There were a number of delicious walkable restaurants and walking to the Termini station was easy for two senior citizens.
It was very clean.
Room new and nice but small. Fridge was like a cooler. It was not cold and without control to make it cold. Very little storage for long stay. City tax much more than expected.
stairs of few steps to access the room at 1/F room, it's a bit inconvenient to carry heavy luggage in and out the hotel
There is an adult film theater right across the street but it appeared to be shut down so it was not an issue. Just FYI. The property is old but nice. The only think I disliked was the fact that the toilet seat did not match the shape of toilet making it uncomfortable at times.
The location is good, mix of things close by. They need to add some English cable channels as at night a person might wish to watch the news, sports, etc. Close to the train station and most major places to see in room. The room was clean, but it needs some USB connections. Staff was nice, the servers at the breakfast were great and kind.
Staff was very nice and helped with taxis and restaurants for our group of 8 people. Much appreciated!
The positive: Breakfast was excellent. We enjoyed some of the best scrambled eggs we have ever had. Had them every day we were there. The negative: How they claim they’re a 4 star hotel is head scratcher. The place is dingy and darkly lit to hide its true age. It takes 2 elevators to get to the fourth floor and the second one is one scary experience. Only two people with luggage turned sideways can fit in this tiny, decrepit device that seems to be falling apart. It’s slow and on one occasion stopped working but thankfully it managed to let us out. The manager came to take a look only to get his head caught in the doors as they closed in on him. Unbelievable. The window did not close completely and let water in and onto the floor on one occasion. As someone else has noted, Best Western should drop this from their portfolio or gut it and bring it up to standard.
The staff were very nice. However the room did not seem to be the cleanest, the floor boards between the bathroom and the entrance were broken and raised which was dangerous so we had to keep our shoes on at all times. The toilet kept making a dripping noise all night long. The good things about the hotel were that it was very close to the train station and around 35 minutes walk to the centre of Rome.
The hotel was conveniently located close to the train station and there are plenty of restaurants in the area. We walked to all of the major sites and didn't need to take taxi or the metro. room was on the small side but expected based on the fact you are in a large city.
The best of the places I stayed in Europe.
This was the best of 6 hotels I stayed at while on a 3-week European vacation. I payed around the same for all of them 6 months earlier and I could have gotten this one for less. It's a big old classic hotel with some nice art deco elements. My room had a patio. 24 hour desk. Good location near several embassies. Breakfast served which was very good. A mini mart kitty corner was convenient. Several non-tourist restaurants within two blocks. A half hour walk from major sites and not much more than a 45 minute walk from Vatican City. Recommended
I really liked modern style and cleanliness of the bathroom but the room's small single bed and the quality of the furniture and room were little dated (for example the plug sockets wiggled and the cubboard was a little frayed. But, the price was excellent it was next to a metro station so it's a great place to say on a budget in rome
Lovely stay friendly staff
Hotel needs renovation. Nice breakfast.
Stayed for 10 nights. The hotel is very clean and quiet. We were walking distance from major attractions, and the hotel staff were great!
Nice phoprt
It was close to the main train station. It was a quiet neighborhood and several dining options nearby.
The walls in the room were disgustingly dirty and the room smelled moldy. Broken floor tile in hallway. Staff rude. Claims they have parking available but it is either street parking (good luck finding any) or some random parking structure that is 5 blocks away and you have to pay 35 euro a day. Expected way more when I booked Best Western. I won’t book with this hotel chain again! Avoid this hotel.
No security on windows.
The front office staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back.
The hotel's overall quality was decent, but it showed signs of wear and tear, highlighting the need for renovation. Its location is a major advantage, with convenient access to transportation.
Lovely hotel with a beautiful decor and comfortable beds. Close to Termini so great location when coming from the airport or arriving in Rome by train.
Room was nice
Room was extremely small. Very basic . The A/C was horrible mini fridge didn’t work. Nice neighbourhood good places to eat. Really nice helpful professional staff .
Excellent staff at the front desk (Antonio), very kind breakfast and cleaning staff, great ristorante’s and close to public transportation by bus or train. The ideal place to stay on vacation in Rome, Italy.
Fix your AC specially summer time. Italy is too hot.
Overall very good
Overall nice stay. Very friendly staff. Room was very clean. Most of the hotel was cool during early August, but our room was a bit hot. Not unbearable but hotter than other areas.
Friendly staff!
This is not a 4 star hotel... although it is very advanced in energy saving technology, it lacks many things that a 4 star hotel should have. I don't know if it's the culture, but in that city they don't believe in cold air conditioning. Our room was hot all the time... I wouldn't stay here again...
Close to everything. Nearby great restaurants and cafes. Would stay there again.
Easy walk to the metro station and our room, which was on the first floor, had GREAT A/C. That was the most important thing. The other family we were traveling with, on a higher floor reported A/C that was just okay. Longer than anticipated walk from the main train station. Older facilities. I wish there was a mini refrigerator in the room. The $15 breakfast was just okay. Pricey for what we got. I really appreciated the front desk staff, however. They were extremely helpful... they even got us a taxi for 7 in literally 1 minute when we were struggling to get one.
A little too far from most of the sites
Location and value for money
Hotel needs a major upgrade for the rooms
Staff was frendly and accommodating.
Easy access to City Center, walkable to numerous restaurants. Staff are very friendly and helpful! Elevator needs improvement
The property was clean.
Nice hotel, clean, comfy beds. Air con not very cold, reported it and still not particularly cold. Nice breakfast and friendly staff.
The room was small but clean and functioned as we needed it to. Bathroom was small for three people. Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly.
Rooms were very quiet and clean too!
Hotel was near the train terminal and restaurants around the area. Hotel has a restaurant, food and coffee was great.
Very modern hotel in the heart of downtown Rome. Within walking distance to train station and major sightseeing places.
Friendly and Good value
Last minute booking due to train strike. Close to station, good value and friendly staff
The staff was very friendly and attentive. After a red eye flight and long day of traveling they could see we were exhausted and let us check in early. They were always very friendly when leaving and arriving at the property.
Set inside a 16th-century apartment building, place was comfortable and clean. It was about a ten minute walk from the Roma termini. Breakfast was a lot of hot and cold foods but may indeed be improved. Staff was very kind: amongst other things I was allowed to park my car right in front of the hotel door for the whole stay (I understand this is not always possible) and thus avoided paying private parking. If you end up on the fifth floor you must use two elevators, and the second is not very practical at all for luggage trolley transport, however someone will help you anyway.
I stayed in the second floor which had been renovated. It was beautiful and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The area was safe and walkable with numerous dining options.
Family trip
The place was in a great location. The bad part the room was hot air did not work very well. We open the window but than we had bugs bites the next day.
One of the few places in Italy that actually has fire detection and protection.
Overall we had a pleasant experience in the hotel. However the air conditioning was not working and wifi internet was intermittent.
The staff was very personable, friendly and helpful! The surrounding area during the day is very nice, at night it’s a little more off putting.. so I wouldn’t recommend walking alone but nonetheless enjoyed my stay very much.
What we needed
The hotel has everything we needed and the staff were friendly and readily available. I will say that the room got a little hot sometimes (and it wasn’t even that hot outside when we were there) and the toilet didn’t flush very well, but that didn’t matter much
It was a decent hotel with very helpful staff. I wasn't near the major attractions but cheaper. The bed low off ground and iight switches were confusing. Shower was hard to navigate
The Art Deco theme is apparent but in some places a bit drab. We stayed in a room that felt a bit unfinished. There is no coffee/tea machine as noted on the Expedia site. The tub in our room was very high (past knee) and the European style of a handheld showerhead (just an observation that could be helpful for people with mobility issues to be aware of or inquire with the hotel if accommodation is needed). The room was overwhelmed with a perfume scent, we had to air it out the first night because it was giving us a headache. The elevators are quite old and there are added warnings about overloading them that will cause them to get stuck. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The checking-in and out process was efficient and easy. The location is not far from the train station (about 15 minute walk). There are restaurants in the area and about 10 minutes away is a more concentrated area of restaurants. A decent walk away from the main tourist area.
4 good things about this hotel
Satisfactory for an overnight stay. Clean. Friendly staff. Excellent location
The room we had was in the penthouse and it was spacious and clean. Washroom has hot towel bar and bidet and clean towels.
Very Nice hotel with short walking distance to main Metro stations & Termini train station with a very friendly staff that are ready to help at the very first question
Excellent reception staff, good house keeping, quiet area
This property is fine for a short stay. The room was large and clean, with a nice bathroom. However, there were a few things I didn't like so much. One was the deadbolt didn't work. As a solo traveler, I'd like to feel more secure. the other was there was no glass for the bathroom or for having a beverage, should I have chosen.
3 stars hotel
Ok hotel
Very dated hotel. The staff was nice but the 4 star rating does not apply here. I would qualify this as a 3 star hotel that needs to be updated.
The lobby is amazing! The room however was very dirty. Chocolate smeared on the walls, I hope it was chocolate! Looked like boogers smeared on walls. I would recommend not staying here.
The hotel was fine, breakfast food and service was great. I just didn’t feel like it was good value… we paid £1k for 4 nights and it was more like a 3 star hotel.. that coupled with a €120 city tax, it felt expensive for what it was.
Very hospitable staff.
N/A
Not bad
The rooms have an overwhelming smell of old school pot pouri. But this is a Rome city centre hotel with parking outside, so beggars can’t be choosers.
Lovely location
Lovely hotel close to main station and all amenities.
The reception staff were warm welcoming and very helpful. The cleaning staff were thorough and trustworthy. I left my valuables in the open unintentionally and it was right where I left it when I returned. Thank you for making our stay in Rome a pleasant one.
The front desk staff were friendly and helpful with any questions we had. The room was clean and very comfortable. The hotel, though old, has a cThe location is central and walkable. We had a great experience overall!
Great place to stay
Great place to stay. Service at desk was the best. Talked with us and helped us get to where we were going. Got a cab when we needed it. Just wonderful people and hotel clean and neat place
Wonderful...
The services were really good and the breakfast was exceptional. I was dissappointed that the air conditioning was turned of for the season. We had to open the windows at night the streets were very busy. Had a hard time sleeping.
Antonia at the front desk is extremely helpful and professional, he is the asset of the hotel.
Nice low price stay- the neighborhood is a bit rough but it is close to everything.
Small room in Rome.
Good but room was a little small.
Room was clean and nice but WREAKED of cleaning sanitizer, had to open all windows and still did not clear up. Location of hotel does not have a lot of restaurants, but it was good for our one night stay.
About 15 minutes walk from the main station but in a very safe and secure neighborhood.
Nice clean functional hotel
Nice hotel overall, but room could have been a bit improved, it’s dating. Would have liked to have a shower as well… not a fan of sitting in other people’s filth (a bath).
El aseo de la habitación fue muy malo
Conveniently located near the metro and Termini train station. However, not many amenities or dining options in the area.
The bed was extremely uncomfortable and i didn't sleep well on any night which was a massive pain.
Close to train station and easy to walk to main monuments. Breakfast was great
Book it
Loved it!
