A little gem .
Superb stay here as always. Very peaceful comfortable hotel, easy access into the city if required. Lovely surrounding countryside. A pretty little village . Great dining.
Very nice surprising wee gem of hotel
A very nice Best Western. Good condition and great staff. Very nice quality of finish and decorations.
Really lovely place to stay. Unfortunately the lift was not working (although being repaired as we arrived). The restaurant and food was delicious and plentiful and the staff were so helpful and very easy to interact with.
Friendly, comfortable, clean, excellent breakfast
Overall I enjoyed my stay at the Eglinton. The room was spacious enough and clean, the bed comfortable and the bathroom was clean with a powerful and hot shower. I had a little trouble regulating the temperature so it was warmer than I would have liked. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed breakfast and there was a good choice of hot items, including excellent poached eggs! The car park was on the small side and this caused difficulty on the Saturday evening when there was clearly a very large party taking place in the hotel. If I’m in this area in the future, I would be quite happy to stay here again.
Nearly a perfect weekend but something was missing
The hotel was lovely, the food so good and the service was excellent but there was one thing missing that could have potentially spoilt the long weekend away......other than the mirror in the bathroom there was no other mirror in the room. This was not a problem for me but it was a different story for my wife who could not use her hairdryer or put her makeup on.....the light in the bathrrom was not good enough and there was no power socket in the bathroom. As we had unpackaged and did not want to be moved, I went out to a nearby store and bought a small dressing table mirror so not to ruin the whole stay. It worked and my wife was happier and so, therefore, so was I. This was the only black mark on what was a perfect weekend otherwise. Not sure if other rooms have the same problem as Room 19.
Glasgow business trip
all good, away from busy areas with great garden area, and secure off rd parking. room (17) nice and tidy/clean/modern but right above kitchen so noisy extractor and doors/Bins banging while kitchen open/serving
Excellent stay
Always a great stay here
Last minute booking
Stunning room, loved the sky lights and being able to have them open. Everything was to an exceptional standard. Service was excellent.
Old building, but well maintained. Pleasant area.
Pros: quiet, nice linen and towels, nice housekeeping staff. Cons: room had very old dark furnishings, no windows except on the ceiling, too hot, telephone wasnt working, cleanliness not up to standard, i had to get my fiance to switch the shower on/off and even he had trouble. Would not return or recommend and I think the cost was very overpriced for the accommodation/food.
Nice hotel. Friendly staff
Comfortable Stay
Good Service, Nice rooms and very nice breakfast
Grant & Seonie
Picked this hotel because wanted to be in good striking distance of glasgow but not in middle. Menu had a good variety and had more fish dishes than I would have expected for a seaside hotel let alone an inland 1 like this one, Presentation of food was excellent quantity and taste also excellent. and quite reasonably priced as well Room was good size and comfortable, other half felt, there wasnt enough light in correct places so that see could do make up. All in all good hotel.
Front desk worker appeared to have an arrogance about him. Looked down at us like he was better. Not pleasant at all.
For the very reasonable price I was very pleasantly surprised by the high-end nature of the hotel. I'm not a huge fan of the trend for hallways and public areas painted in dark colours, and the window in my room was impossible to secure tightly shut, but overall a great stay in a lovely village.
Great value, delightful hotel
A very comfortable stay here as always.
Everything about the hotel is good ex ept that the bed is small for two medium people and there is little space around it. The bath and shower were magnificent. Its disappointing that the hotel couldn't offer food at 20.00 one evening, even if we hadnt booked.
Nice hotel good parking friendly staff.
A lovely, clean room. The staff was very helpful.
Beautiful place, great food and service, easy to park.
Simply perfect.
Super staff pleasant. Very smart and helpfull.will use again
Great value. Very comfortable
Always consistently good when I stay here. Strongly recommend this lovely hotel .
Good place to stop. Nice workers, decent breakfast.
Just the job.
Comfortable, dog frendly - and people friendly - hotel in attractive conservation village.
Initial room was noisy and only had a roof light rather than a window, I was given another room for the subsequent night which was comfortable and quiet. Cooked breakfast was a little disappointing particularly scrambled eggs. Poached eggs excellent though.
Superb hotel
Excellent stay, extremely comfortable room & delicious dining.
So friendly
Very friendly helpful staff. Lovely place to stay. Only minor down side was no window in room, albeit did have ceiling dormer windows.
Lovely place bed comfortable and room quire but maybe a little dark
Business
Great service, very flexible with eating arrangements as we had a dog with us.
Great value hotel
Nice cozy alternative to hotels like Premier Inns that add a personal touch that places like those just don't deliver at a similar price point. Really great service and staff and good food. Adding the breakfast, which is fantastic is a must. Only one small point, if guests are in rooms with velux windows, point out to them when they check in that it has an electric blind (we didn't see the switch!). Ok in winter but not so good in summer
Excellent hotel
Superb stay here as always. Great room, delicious supper. Thanks to you all.
Happy Return
Enjoyed another short stay at the Eglinton Arms, where the high standard is well maintained. No problems whatsoever and received an enthusiastic welcome.
Have stayed here several times. Very comfortable and good friendly service.
Santa dash
Lovely hotel Nice location with easy access to Glasgow and surrounding areas Tge restaurant was a bonus as the food was excellent and very reasonably priced
Great value and cosy hotel
Great value and comfortable hotel. We really enjoyed our dinner in the restaurant and the breakfast. The staff were really friendly and helpful
Fantastic stay
Superb stay, excellent room. All the staff here are friendly & professional, a great team .
Fantastic stay . Great value.
Superb stay. Excellent room everyone here is brilliant.
Beautiful property and well kept both inside and out. Friendly staff and excellent food.
Great hotel. Best night sleep of whole vacation. Would definitely recommend
Lovely stay, great hotel
Better signage to car park needed, as approaching from town. The shower was difficult to manage, controls not accessible once in the shower and very enthusiastic flow. Very tasty breakfast.
Lovely quiet location. Friendly staff. The rooms were clean with all the facilities you would need during your stay. The food menu is limited but the choices are adequate.
Fantastic stay, we will be back!
It's a great place to stay, with very good and professional team looking after you. Easy access to Glasgow, good food. Std room was snug, but worked in the lounge with ease and comfort. Great breakfast - Thanks to all for looking after me. Will stay again
The hotel has character and the staff were very attentive
Fantastic hotel, couldn’t fault it. Only fault was we booked into a superior room with breakfast included and unfortunately there was no room so downgraded to standard, only fault!
The staff were absolutely fabulous - nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was clean and in good order. The location was perfect for our needs and the there was no problem at all parking at the the hotel carpark . We would totally recommend this hotel
Great service let down by food
I am gluten free, my meal came in Nader cooked and greasy, my husband had steak pie which the meat was tough, in a steak pie the meat should be so tender that it breaks up. Hotel stated it was dog friendly, not true, could not take my dogs g to not bar where we were having a family gathering with 20 people, very disappointed there. I can say the service was excellent, staff were very attentive and meals were served quickly.
The village is famously attractive. The hotel appears to be an old cottage but is substantially expanded behind the facade and is clean, modern, plush, comfortable with parking facilities behind. Rooms are spacious enough for two but the superior rooms really are--almost twice the floor space. We had evening meals and breakfast --beautiful salmon, enormous battered Haddock both as good as the £50 meals we have paid for elsewhere. The full Scottish breakfast was tasty, hot and varied and the service swift . All the staff were welcoming , knowledgeable and friendly. I realise they should be but sometimes the fact it is natural and not trained into them is most welcome. We have visited East Kilbride to stay with relatives many times over the last 55 years but on certain occasions needed to stay in hotels usually Travel Lodge (without complaint). On this visit 7 of us came up from Manchester and the Ribble Valley for the funeral of our normal host and paid 2 or 3 times as much to stay at the Eglington. We will be returning your hotel, how much more of a reference do you need ? Loved our stay even for such a sad occasion.
Room without a view!
Spacious room with Velux opening roof windows and blackout blinds. No main window though which was disappointing as last time we stayed we had a lovely view of the village green. Very hot weather so room was stuffy despite opening roof lights and using the fan. Big picture above dressing table instead of mirror which would’ve been more useful. Good powerful shower but very stiff dial making it difficult to turn on and off. Good breakfast and service as usual. Lovely hotel but preferred our previous standard rooms to this superior one.
Well kept, comfortable and friendly.
Friendly staff. Great ambience. Interesting lift. Historic Hotel.
This was a very cute property next to a beautiful park. The room was well decorated and comfortable. There is a dining area within the hotel.
Blindfold needed for room 24
Stayed here a few times and love the hotel , but on this occasion got a room with skylight window where 2 of the 4 blinds didn’t work, felt like we slept in a greenhouse wide awake 4:0 morning so bright and hot reported twice nothing done very disappointing
Stay
Very friendly
The actual hotel is very pleasant. My problem was my room had no window just a skylight which didn’t open fully and the blind on it didn’t open so I was sat in the dark I realise I booked a budget room but it should be made clear at the time of booking there was no window
Have stayed here several times over the years. Friendly Staff. Comfortable en-suite rooms. Fantastic Breakfast.....plenty of options to choose from. Lunch and Evening Menus serving good food. Bar. Car park.
Happy Return
2-night stay visiting relatives and paying a nostalgic trip to home city. Hotel provided a perfect base for us - we have stayed here several times before.
Right next to motor way very noisy
Good standard and in a great place for a night away
Good hotel however let down by very noisy extractor fan in next room toilet .put up with for an extended period and eventually had to change rooms. Next night was just as bad as guests in next room were shouting throughout the night eventually getting to sleep at 3am. I acknowledge that the nosey guests were not the hotels fault. I usually don’t mind some noise but on both nights it was extreame. Ruined a weekend and otherwise nice hotel and staff.
Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel, room was clean and comfortable. Good food in the restaurant.
Lovely hotel
Hotel was spotlessly clean, staff helpful and friendly, room was a good size with a comfy bed, food was good, would stay here agaun
Great value
Initially was given a room without windows which felt very dark despite being billed as premium. Asked to change to a windowed room and was placed in a nice, smaller room with a lovely view of the church... Though also overlooked the noisy dumpster from the kitchen in the restaurant. That all being said my stay was very pleasant and the rooms clean and quiet for the most part. I can tell this hotel becomes a party destination for those tripping to Glasgow on the weekends due to its proximity and low cost as there was definitive noise in the Saturday night of my stay...but its a Saturday night! I feel this hotel has great service, nice rooms, mostly lovely staff, and good price points. I would stay again.
Perfect accommodation
It is always a delight to stay here & is my preference when I’m working in the glasgow area . Easy access to all motorways, excellent dining , staff are always friendly & the rooms are well appointed & extremely comfortable. It’s really quiet here, & I’d strongly recommend it.
Love this hotel, would stay again.
Great Comfortable Hotel
Very comfortable as always. Staff friendly and a great place to stay if visiting South of Glasgow
Excellent
Lovely hotel, cosy and all staff very friendly and welcoming. There was an issue with gas supply in kitchen , but there was still a lovely varied menu available. Definitely recommend a stay and we will return
Outstanding!
Loved it here, staff were amazing, super friendly and helpful. Food was great and just really had a great time, can’t recommend it highly enough. Chefs home made smoothies were a massive hit for my son at breakfast time as well! You need to stay here, trust me.
Room was spotless and staff very friendly
Briiant
A really nice hotel. Highly recommend.
I was very pleasantly surprised on arrival to this hotel. It looks amazing, with plush elegant styling inside that you would expect of a luxury hotel. Service from reception and bar staff was excellent, going the extra mile to make sure I had everything I needed. Information given was excellent and timely, so I knew at my late checkin that the bar was closing shortly, for example. Breakfast was excellent and well worth it. The room was large and quiet, well furnished and styled. A really nice hotel. I've stayed at a lot of hotels in my working life, and this ranks highly in my opinion.
Great hotel
Lovely room overlooking park & the most comfortable bed ever! Breakfast was lovely & fresh.
Lift was broken, blind for skylight window broken, TV broken and staff said we are waiting on someone to fix these problems. Standard double rooms felt rather claustrophobic only having window in roof and room was small.
What a win.
What a wonderful surprise. I left the city and couldn’t believe the beauty of this little oasis. I had dinner, drinks and breakfast at the hotel and just loved everything about my stay. This is a very well run, beautiful hotel.
Overnight stay
Really lovely hotel. Small room but very comfortable and stylish
Great room lots of space . Room was clean. Staff very helpful and friendly. Tv only had 2 stations. Would have loved to have had a options of hot drinks other than caffeine.
The staff where very pleasant and helpful
10/10
Great Hotel. Staff were kind and welcoming. Room was so clean and fresh and the blackout electric blind was a good send for the morning. Breakfast is top notch also. Cannot fault this hotel.
The property was very friendly and a great location
Fantastic find
Great place very clean an modern
Good stay
Very pleasant hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They listened to our needs and acted on them. Meals were good. Would definitely stay again if in the area
Gem of a wee hotel
We checked in real late due to travel delays, the welcome we received was wonderful. Our room was very special it had a hugh sky light whicj we could lie in bed and look at the stats from the room was large, clean and verycomfortable we will stay again
Pictures of the room are very inaccurate. Pictures show the one and only honeymoon suite which was not available of course. I thought the breakfast was included in the price which wasn't true.
Excellent service
Manager was very visable and friendly, excellent service
Very nice
This one is on my return list I have at last found a nice hotel I don’t have to complain about clean and comfortable food food and helpful staff Well done BW !!
4 night business trip
Really nice Hotel, excellent staff and nice food.
Carolyn on reception gave excellent service
Staff was super helpful when I made a booking mistake. Very kind staff, cozy rooms.
Lovely property. The dining and bar area was great
A nice place to stay
Have stayed a few times at this hotel and every time visas good as the last. It also has a really nice restaurant with good food, wine and beer. Would recommend this hotel if you want quiet place to stay.
Great stay , but avoid room 14
We love the Eglinton Arms. Staff always friendly. Rooms clean. Breakfast great. However avoid room 14 if you can, we stayed there and for the first time were disappointed with size of room, fine for a single person.Shower wasn't working properly and toilet seat was wobbly. We informed reception and I'm sure it will get fixed, but let this trip down a bit. Will definitely stay again as everything else is very good.
Room was beautiful. Food was great. Staff couldn’t be more helpful. Great stay overall.
beautiful hotel
, beautiful hotel delicious food, friendly helpful staff
Booked a superior double room and when i got to my room it was only a standard regular double bed. Small tv. Did complain at desk but was told i was in superior room already room dodnt have wondow except velux windows which were in much need of a clean. Had breakfast delivered to room which was good standard.also used restaurant where i would say food was over priced a bit but realy tasty. Desert was overpriced £6 for three scoops of basic icevream. Would go back to hotel
Eaglesham charm
It was a lovely place to stay in a quaint little village. It felt like a special treat. Decor was very warm & extravagant. Food was fabulous & service wonderful. Can't wait to go back.
Lovely location and rooms. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff.
