Terrible experience. Rooms are not soundproof; could hear everything.
Excellent place
Not safe, very dirty and the room didn't meet my expectation.
Nice area - residential and restaurant
Staff was amazing. Bed was not very comfortable
It was a convenient place to stay at. There was anything you need it around area within walking distance.
Quite far out from the city cost a lot in taxi. Had to ask for tea and coffee facilities. we got 4 sticks of coffee for a four night stay. Staff are friendly and helpful hotel was clean just too far away from city
Spacious room, clean and well organized. Location is 15 minutes from Rome centre
really good.
Best Western Blue Roma
Very well maintained hotel. Very clean, spacious rooms.
The staff were very mean and rude. Not accommodating. We were told we have a free breakfast and when we went there, the staff at the restaurant was very rude and no manners and the staff at the counter are the same! The air conditioner is poor, the breakfast is nasty! Even the card key we were told if we lose it they will charge 5 Euro! No toiletries. We have to ask housekeeping to replace it. The hotel was dirty!
Mattress was in a very bad condition...very old... quite uncomfortable to sleep on... causing back pain; we could hardly get much sleep for 2 nights. Staff at the front desk were not much helpful at the time of check-in with our request for a comfortable room. Could overhear noisy neighbors through the wall.
If I could give the staff 6 stars I would…excellent place to stay.
It was a good experience. The rooms were smaller than i imagined from photos, and there seemed to be an ant nest in our room. Other than that. It was cleaned everyday and staff were polite
It was convenient for the 1 night we needed
Hotel is good value for the money. Room is clean and comfortable.
Very clean and friendly staff!
It was average!
Nice kept
Easy check in and staff very friendly and helpful
Good hotel
Good.
The Hotel was wonderful! Very clean, very nice staff, and great breakfast options. Also, the hotel is located very close to transportation pick up.
Good
Very nice hotel just a little bit to far from the center is not walking distance.
A Go-to spot
I’ve stayed here before. The staff are friendly and able to handle my requests. It’s in a residential neighborhood. It’s convenient to cab wherever I need to go
Missing Basic Features
The room was good, We booked a Junior Suite room, but they didn't have a Coffee machine and no Steam iron box in the room. They are basic features for any decent hotel and not having them for a Junior Suite room is very bad.
Rome stay
Very good experience of our stay. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Two very good cafes within 50m and a supermarket across the road. Very handy for us especially with young kids. Only downside is the proximity to Metro station. It is a good 15-20mins walk. Although local buses run from the station and there is a bus stop almost just outside the hotel. Buses are quite frequent.
Ok
The room was clean, but the street had a lot of trash, the shower area was small (shower inside a bath tub).
When we arrived the a/c in the entire hotel was broken. They did not inform guests of this, or rectify the situation by a restaurant voucher, money off room etc. room was big and nice otherwise, staff were ok. Restaurant on site way overpriced. 7/10 if a/c worked, 4/10 because of broken a/c and staff response.
Lots of sirens from ambulances bit hey it's a major city. Only fault I had was the extra pillow in the bag was dirty. Staff all extremely helpful and polite. Our balcony was huge and useful.
Fine
The rooms are quite dated Helpful staff
I booked three rooms for this trip all with the same price, but I was a bit disappointed to find out that one of the rooms was very small as compared to the other two. I felt bad for my friend who stayed in that room.
Big suites, very clean, staff very helpful and friendly. The area is the only downside of this great place, didn’t feel too safe walking too far from the hotel. For the money I will say is a great deal, would consider coming back.
Mediocre at best
Staff was trying their best to work with what they have. Management is failing the property. Booked 3 nights stay in the first week of June, 2023 when it’s already hot in Rome. AC didn’t work in the entire hotel. When asked about timeline when it will be resolved, was told “don’t know” and “may be in the middle of July. We are waiting for detail…”was given fans instead of AC. Rooms are small and not comfortable. Location is not convenient.
First, the geographic location of the property, as listed by Expedia was seriously inaccurate. It was not close to the train station. Second, when I arrived they told me the air conditioning wasn't working. When I asked to be placed in a different hotel they offered to cancel the reservation but did not assist me in finding a replacement. Frankly, they were rude. I stayed there and did not sleep well due to the lack of air conditioning.
Very clean. Room was spacious. Staff was very good - helpful. Not many restaurants with8n walking Too far from Rome’s main attractions
Good, not great
I chose this based upon friendly reviews and cleanliness. I can say the hotel is clean and economical :)The "friendliness" I would say is a 5 out of 10. This hotel is a good distance from the city. There are buses close by but it takes at least 2 transfer to get anywhere. Just be aware that the water in the fridge is not complimentary, although there is nothing in the room giving informing you of prices. 2.5 euros per bottle and if I had known I would have walked next door to the grocery and purchased much cheaper. Also, there was no dresser to place clothing for our 10 day stay. All in all I can recommend the hotel with the caveat's listed above :)
..
Nothing
The receptionist Manuel was extremely kind and helpful. In the other hand, the receptionist Cristian, from night shifts was horrible, by screaming at the guest and not trying to help at all.
Front desk customer service folks in this hotel were very rude, impatient and unfriendly. Being a visitor in new country we wish to count on them to make best of few days of trip but women on front desk seemed super upset with anyone who would step up to ask something. Food choices within hotel restarurant were very limited and it was super pricey. Waited 55 mins for 1 pasta dish dinner. Breakfast was far better and good staff there. Hot water kettle was available on demand.
The room was clean an spacious. Comfortable bed. Perfect for one night
The Staff Member were Excellent. Specially Front Manager Mr. Daniel Houssine. He gave as a room with Balcony. Made us feel very welcome. On our last day treated us with Coffee and gave us box snack for our journey home. Mario taught us about life in Roma. Alberto and balance of the front desk staffs were Excellent. I would like all of them to be my guests here in Aurora, Colorado, USA. Maid was also very kind. We could have used a bit of help from Expedia about ground transportation from Tiburtina Station to the Hotel. City of Roma is not very good about placement of Hotel Signs in visible areas. This was our second trip to Europe with Expedia in 2019 and you could have been more helpful.
front desk & lobby need face lift. room need face lift. Everything was old. air condition was not working in the room. Service was poor. Best western suppose to be well know brand. I was very disappointed with my stay.
comfortable stay at rome tiburtina!
check in process was smooth with no issues, we came in a little after 12nn and our room was already ready and available. rooms are large and with ample space for luggages. the bathroom are clean and nice as well location is great if you are looking at a place outside of central rome. our group normally takes the bus and metro in the morning, we just have to spend 1.5EUR per BIT and it gets us to any destination within rome centrale. After the day is over, waiting for bus takes you forever, what we normally do is to take a taxi going home, the taxi fare is about 10-15 EUR going back to the hotel. there is a supermarket just across the hotel, if you wanted to get small snack, wine or liquor of your choice, its a very convenient to just buy them there. there's a few good restaurant close to the hotel, we only found 2-3 of them during our stay. the hotel also offers breakfast for a small fee.
A good bathroom and comfortable firm bed. No tea or coffee facilities in the room or iron etc.
Great hotel but 20min walk to Tiburtina station
Great hotel with great service. Rooms were spacious and nice. Good reception and supportive throughout with information etc. However Roma tributina station is more Thath 600m that they advertise. I was disappointed when I first walked to the station from the hotel, took me 20mins. If you were to do the walk in mornings of evenings, or times other than summer, you will not be disappointed. Recommend and I will come back.
Very convenient and easy access to a great deal of tourist attraction in Rome.
We are Americans and really enjoy the comforts of home. In Europe they don’t use the air conditioning as much so the room wasn’t cold enough for us ever!! Also the refrigerator in the room would not keep our drinks cold. Again that is probably very normal in Europe.
Good and cheap food in the area. There is a supermarket across the street. Street parking is free.
Comfortable stay
Comfortable 1 night stay at the hotel
Staff were extremely helpful and nice, helped us navigate the Subway with great counsel, and were attentive to our needs.
Rooms were very clean but the beds were extremely uncomfortable. The breakfast was ok but needed to pay 15 euros ea. person as it wasn't included in the room charge.
location ok but clean place
The people front desk were friendly. The area not much to see but close to the metro walking 15-20 minutes or cab ride $6-13 i guess depends cab driver.
The rooms were small. The bathroom had a smell. The hotel is located far from center city Rome. The area was not safe to walk at night. There were a lot of homeless people sleeping in the area. The hotel is across from a night club that played loud music until like 5 in the morning. When you call the from desk they say they are calling the police which is a lie. The music continued all night. It was a very loud hotel. Elevator is extremely small. The staff was extremely friendly however. I rate this hotel a 2. The bed was extremely low to the floor and the mattress was hard and pillows were flat.
An 1-or-2-star hotel claims to be a 4-star hotel
My wife and I arrived at this hotel on a Sunday at 2:00 PM. The first eyesore I noted was the deteriorated façade. Gravel spilled from a rundown street into an unkempt courtyard at the entrance of the establishment. Across the street were a partially demolished brick wall and neglected houses. The service desk had only a receptionist who treated us courteously, handed us a map, and warned us about crime in Rome. No bell desk, no concierge, and no restaurant because it closed on Sundays. The room was very small. A little low-framed double bed had been crammed against the walls, so it allowed a narrow space for one person to move inside the room. If in the middle of the night you needed to go to the bathroom, you would have to climb over your bedmate or slide down to the foot of the bed. One reading lamp hung above a single rudimentary nightstand. Across from the bed, a doorless wardrobe stood in a corner, almost attached to the nightstand. It contained several hangers and a tiny safe. A plain corner desk with one simple chair sat next to a little window. A small TV hung above the desk on the same wall where a hair dryer hung too. The bathroom had a small shower, no bath—although the website had indicated shower/bath—a sink for a single guest, a plain toilet and a bidet. Back in the reception area on our way out to another hotel, the receptionist was kind enough to call a taxi for us.
Our stay was fantastic! Staff are very friendly, polite and helpful! Hotel was very clean and we certainly appreciated an upgrade after travelling for so many hours to get to Rome. We’ll stay again for sure!
Nice trip!!
It was a nice stay for 3 nights. The standard rooms which we opted for small rooms and just adequate double beds. Good value for the price though! Rooms were neat and well maintained. I had booked two rooms for my family. In one of them there was a smell in bathroom but frankly I did not care much. Breakfast had a nice spread and found it more than adequate. Staff was courteous and quite helpful always. Good property but dont get too influenced by the 4* category.
Great Staff
We weren't sure if we made the right choice for our family trip to Rome, we wanted something close but not to close so it wouldn't be so touristy. We weren't disappointed. Blu hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff here is so nice and helpful. They will show you how to get to the bus stop, metro and even help with shuttles and taxis if needed. We preferred the bus and Metro system as its easy and inexpensive. The hotel has a restaurant and the food there is so yummy. My youngest said the older gentleman was her bestfriend and her favorite person. He introduced her to chocolate Gelato :-). The breakfast is a mix of Italian and American which was perfect as the first day my little one wasn't ready to try new things and just wanted bacon, by day three she was eating a real Italian breakfast. We did have a small issue and I felt horrible to complain as I never complained when I'm on vacation, however I did mention it to the staff and immediately they took care of it. The Manager made it a point to say always ask if you need anything as we want you and your family happy. This truly made my day as I was afraid to complain as I don't want anyone to think we are being problematic. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants friendly staff, clean rooms, close to attractions by bus, and yummy food. Thanks again
Not a comfortable place
Air conditioning not working. Had to open windows to get some air. Not comfortable
We were a bit far from the city of Rome but we were able to get city bus to metro train for a mere 1.50 euro. By taxi was a bit pricey any where from 12 Euro to 40. euros. Some of the taxis were also ripping us off by not turning on the meters (A big No No in Rome) so they tells their price before we get in the Taxi. We found that out on our last day Not good!!
Very quiet place, clean room, convenient to go to train station, restaurant and grocery store.
It was terrible everybody was making noise they wouldn't let you sleep the staff was always angry not willing to help the worst hotel I stayed in in a very long time do not recommend this to anyone ever
Great Hotel but difficult location
This hotel is great value - new feeling, super clean, great breakfast, efficient staff. If you’re ok with taking taxis from the historic centre, or public transit like the Romans, then book here. Just remember it’s 4 stops on the blue ‘Rebiba’ line from Termini station, then go to the Far East end of the Tiburtina station (local busses, not regional busses) and it’s the 409 bus or the 545 bus. Don’t try walking from Tiburtina!
Clean but not coming back
Check in says 1pm, we got there at 1:30, front desk said it’s at 3pm. Don’t want to argue anymore because we were tired from our trip. He got the room ready at 2pm. AC is not controlled in the room. They said they have a law that they can’t turn on AC if weather is cold. What!? It was warm/hot in the room. I wish they have at least a fan! Room is always clean. Water temperature in the shower is VERY hard to control! Worst part... very far from city center, far from the train station and bus takes forever!
Clean hotel
The hotel was clean and the staff was nice enough. They took a copy of our passports which is fine, but when I went down later to get something the copies were just sitting on the counter. I would have appreciated if they were in a more secure area away from literally anyone’s eyesight.
Nice hotel at just 10 minutes walk from Metro
Excellent hotel, good to stay with family. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Located at a very convenient location just 10 minutes walk from Tiburtina metro station. Cleanliness of room was very professional. Breakfast was excellent. Recommend to stay every visitor to Rome with family. I will stay again at my next visit.
Nice Hotel and close to major train station.
The staff were wonderful, helpful and very accommodating. Should I be in that area again I will definitely stay at the hotel.
Best Western Blu Hotel - Rome
This property is new and CLEAN! There is a front desk person named Manuele who is excellent!! We enjoyed our stay at this property.
Small room. Unhelpful staff. Far away from tourist areas, although walking back and forth to the metro for 1km each way provided a glance into romans lives of today, although it wasn't anything special.
Nice hotel with close proximity to metro station
Staff were very polite. Fast and reliable internet access. Hotel is 15 minutes walk to Tiburtina station that will get you to Roma Termini, Colosso etc.
Ok location for the price
Location was ok, rooms are a bit on the smaller side. Hard to hale a cab outside, must go through hotel in order to have one to sent. Breakfast was good. Avoid eating at the hotel restaurant at any cost. Major rip off menu and the most rudest manager I have ever encountered.
Most worst hotel I ever stayed
We stayed 3 nights. The centralised air conditioning was broken several days ago. They didn't repair it during our stay. It was hot in the room. No kettle and no shower gel. Shower was terrible few seconds very hot and for few seconds very cold water. We complained but reception staff didn't do anything. It was nightmare having shower in this hotel. This is not 4 star hotel. I recommend never stay in this hotel. I thought bestwestern was big chain and they maintain standards. But I realise during our stay this hotel was not part of this chain. Very poor reception services.
close to Tiburtina Station
We stayed in this small but comfortable hotel only one night as it was close to Tiburtina Station which we needed to get to early the next day. It was clean and comfortable and provided breakfast for a small extra fee. The front desk staff was extremely helpful when a situation arose with another Best Western Hotel booking in Rome for later in our trip. We were impressed with the front desk professionalism.
Close to traía stayion
Ir was very convenien to move around with public transportation
Great !
It was great indeed. In the North America Best Western never charges for parking. I recommend strongly not to charge parking regardless. We hotel's guest and customers.
Decent experience
Stayed here for 3 nights during our holiday in Rome. A decent Hotel with friendly staff. The rooms were spacious but did not have a modern feel. Decent breakfast buffet, though ordinary. The location of the hotel, though not central but well connected to Roma Tiburtina Station via very frequent bus connections. overall a decent place, but not sure if this was worth the 4 star rating.
Very Clean and Spacious Hotel Room
The room was very spacious and clean. The bathroom was all marble tile and even had a jetted tub. The hotel staff was great, very friendly, helpful and spoke English very well. There was a major train station and metro stop within a 20 min walk, which made it very easy to travel around the city. The only problems we ran into were there were quite a few ants in the room and the mattress and pillows were a little too firm. We would definitely consider staying here again if we travel back to Rome.
A bit further from the metro than I thought easy bus connection tho. Supermarket across street nice,
Romans need to work on their attitudes
Arrogant staff. Not cooperative and we were about to miss the train because of incorrect information regarding taxis.
HOTEL OK BUT TO FAR OUT OF TOWN
HOTEL QUITE CLEAN AND TIDY FRIENDLY STAFF BUT TOBFAR OUT OF CITY AND NOTHING AROUND THE HOTEL AT NIGHT TO DO
The room is quite small and even there is no space to open my bags. The distance to the Metro station is quite far. It takes about 20 minutes to walk there. The breakfast is very ordinary. The bath room has got some smell from the drainage. Not recommended for family holiday travelers.
A bit far from the tourist attractions but the front desk is really helpful and the train and metro station is a 20 minute walk.
Definitely not 4 star clean, close to bus and train
The hotel is close to the main train station that comes from the airport and also the Metro and bus lines. The 409 bus which you can get right outside of the train station has a stop a few steps from the hotel The hotel is definitely not a 4 star hotel. It is a budget hotel but very clean and neat. we were not in the room that much as we were sightseeing all day so for that purpose it's fine. The room is only one room and the bathroom. The furniture is scarce. The mattress was thin and hard. There is a good breakfast for 1 euro per person a day if your room rate doesn't already include it. There is no pool at this hotel. There is a restaurant we ate there once and the food was good. The waiter was also the chef as well as the front desk person is also the bartender. Would recommend to a friend only if they couldn't find a better hotel for a decent price or location.
Find somewhere else to stay
This place was awful. It's pretty far from everything. The rooms are very warm and they do not run the ac even if you request it. The beds are not comfortable and the wifi does work.
Nice hotel very close to subway
Staff are very friendly. Nice clean comfortable quiet place. Most especially very close to metro subway. Had a satisfying place to stay during our vacation.
Rome for 5 days
I went went with my 2 children and although our days were busy and tiring it was nice to come back to a warm room with comfortable beds and hot water for our showers. There was no problem walking to the metro and getting connections to the main Termini. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Anything we asked for such as coffee making facilities were delivered to the door within minutes. The breakfast offered was of a good choice and quality.
A gem, far from the madden crowd.
Comfortable bed, clean room, good breakfast, but, most of all, FABULOUS STAFF! Very helpful. Emanuel was wonderful. Very good value and positive experience.
pleasant experience
The wonderful staff- they helped me set up three of my tours. also were very helpful when I had my wallet stolen. room was very clean as well.
Dont expect high !!
Its as good as a budget hotel in Asia dont expect high quality as i had expected. There is no one even to help u with luggage which is standard in Europe ! Breakfast was bad except for the coffee
Staff at the reception were very friendly and cooperative. There was no kettle to make Tea/coffee in the room. Location was convenient for transport to the city centre.
The warm welcome from staff at Best Western Blu was really nice. They greeted us warmly on arrival, and we were checked in quickly and easily. I booked two rooms, one for myself and one for my mum who was travelling with me. They very thoughtfully put these two rooms next to each other, which was impressive and made life easier. The rooms were pleasant and tidy and had everything we needed. There was also a fridge in the room which contained bottled water. The room was also air conditioned and had a balcony. The bed was a little hard for my liking, but this is purely down to my personal preference. The room was spotlessly cleaned every day. Free WiFi was provided, this was high speed and reliable, and was extremely useful during our stay - a great touch. Something you need to be aware of is that the Blu is some distance from the city. It would be over an hour's walk to get to any of the attractions, or alternatively you can take the Metro (underground). Tiburtina station is a ten-minute walk from the hotel. The hotel staff are a font of useful information, armed with tourist maps and local knowledge to help make your stay that bit better. They couldn't be more helpful if they tried. The breakfast service is pleasant, running from 7-10am, which gives you the opportunity to be out early, or have a lie-in. It's far more flexible than I've known in other hotels. I would highly recommend Blu Hotel to anyone... as long as you're happy not to be in the middle of the city.
The hotel was fine. Nothing spectacular but the rooms were a decent size for Europe, and kept clean. Breakfast was plentiful and the hotel restaurant was surprisingly good. We stayed for 3 days at the beginning then another 2 nights at the end of our trip. During the second stay we had a small room where the AC unit wasn't functioning properly and was very loud. They sent someone up immediately to look at it but couldn't fix it, and were fully booked so could not offer us another room that night, but made sure we had a new room with an upgrade the following day. The location is not ideal; it was not close to anything in the city of Rome and there was not much nearby as far as restaurants or evening activity. Reasonably close to the train but still quite a hike if you have luggage.
It is a nice stay!
The hotel is a bit out of the way. However, Bus 409 is literally outside the hotel and it comes by very five minutes and take us to Tiburtina station. The breadfast is sufficient and the staff is very friendly and helpful. So even though it is a modest hotel, it works for us. We enjoyed our stay.
Upon arrival at reception we where asked to wait so sat down. After a while i asked why the hold up thinking some problem with booking no real answer it seemed that she was finishing the filing of receipt. Soon after she said the room was ready shame she didn't mention that from the start. That point onwards every thing was fine easy to get into town although our three day trip was far to short.
Top notch hotel, would stay again.
Hotel was nice and clean and the staff was very helpful in making sure the stay is very comfortable. Room was very clean and simple, and the breakfast bar was good. Hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk (depending on how fast you walk) to one of the main Metro station (Tiburtina) which makes it so much easier to get around the city. The surrounding area was nice to walk around in the evening, I felt safe being able to tour the smaller streets of Rome, this was especially rewarding as there are a couple of really good restaurants around the area, one recommendation is one towards Tiburtina just before the junction (about 5 minutes walk). Overall, we had a great time in Rome and the hotel as well as the location of the hotel made our stay in Rome very memorable.
Wifi would not stay on and was very weak.
Neighbourhood was seedy and not that close to metro. Wifi was horrible and constantly cutting out. Staff was nice but even the room safe was broke and never fixed.

Great front desk staff and very clean hotel. Will definitely be staying here next time.
