Was a nice hotel for a city centre, limited parking.

The staff was great! I always stay at this property for its location mainly.

On the edge of the old town

Good location to walk to the old town. Receptionist was rather blunt, but the other staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Room was a good size and beds were comfortable.

The hotel is situated in a great location. Breakfast was average, checking was not courteous.

Easy access to the whole downtown. Fairly new, clean and well maintained hotel.

Nice hotel well situated and issues to improve

The people atbthe hotel were vey helpful withe the car park although they were full. Breakfast was good. The room had the right size. Through the mattress you could feel the wiring and ony having a top sheet instead of a summer duvet, for me was insuficient. What I liked the least was the water heater in the shower, no water pressure and jumps of heat. The towels were awful.

Fantastic location, friendly and helpful staff. We stayed here after a long journey (24 hours in transit) and were relieved to have such a quiet and clean hotel room for our first night in Romania. If we had been staying longer in Bucharest we would have stayed at this hotel for more than one night.

No service. No air condition. Internet slow and cut off every gfew minutes - cant be used for working. Location is fine. Breakfast is fine. No way this hotel was rated 8.8- it is a faked rating - it doesnt feel like a hotel at all. Just a room to sleep in. Not even a lobby. Thanks to hotels.com relocation department - John and Armano - who saved us and moved us to a near hotel.

Not a big hotel in an excellent location

Not a big hotel in an excellent location, walking distance to all the important places. A clean and quiet hotel with a restaurant and a rich and delicious breakfast. Unfortunately, the staff is not so cheerful and does not try to help. For those who value a central place to stay, this is the most suitable hotel.

I liked everything. It was closed to downtown and closed to the bus Station at Pl Romana. Very clean, comfy and cute. I will definately stau there again.

If you’re looking for a hotel with reliable Internet this is NOT the place. I reported that the Internet in our floor was down during the second day of a four day stay. It never got fixed. Disappointing.

Great Hotel Just a Little Away from Old Town

Overall the hotel was great - the room was comfortable and the staff were super helpful. My only issue is that i wish I'd booked a little closer to the old town area since there wasn't a lot of bar/restaurant options close to the hotel.

I had a great stay. The reception desk was absolutely amazing. They even let me check in a little early. The room was beautiful and so very clean.

Excellent location, very good value, very accommodating staff, willing to help and eager to please. I wish they were more inclined to wear the masks properly. Also, I had to insist for them not to change my towels every day and the bed sheets every other day. I know the efforts to make you feel great are actually causing the disregard for saving water. Protecting nature and being eco-conscious are relatively new concepts in Romania. While being hospitable and generous with your guests is deeply ingrained.

Good location good breakfast

The staff is nice and a reasonable help people we booked Triple room for 3 but it is was a small double room and added a sofa so it was very crowded and difficult to move It was warm in the cooling system room did not work transitional period and did not invent an alternative We were told to open a window overlooking the street was on the first floor and it was very noisy

Perfectly serviceable and good value

Clean, quiet, and good value for a no-frills business-oriented hotel. Breakfast was underwhelming, the lighting on room floors too soft/yellow, and the red carpet in the rooms outdated compared with the modern lobby and restaurant.

A good place

Overall a great experience. There was a little bit of a misunderstanding and confusion with the check in process and coordinating transit from the airport. But otherwise staying there was wonderful. The staff was nice and helpful, the room was cozy, the location extremely convenient, and the breakfast was pretty good too. I found the price to be fairly reasonable as well.

Good hotel. Great location and excellent breakfast buffet. Staff wasn't as helpful as some of the other we experienced at different hotels on our trip.

Perfect location, very nice selection of breakfast choices, staff was friendly and trying to guess your next need or wish. Only thing i hope they would improve is that we left a request to keep the same towels yet they still changed them daily.

Pleasurable stay

Hotel is ideally situated, close to the old town centre and a good array of shops/restaurants/museums. Breakfast options somewhat limited, especially towards the end of the allotted breakfast time, but satisfying nonetheless. Staff is pretty chilled and helpful, a relaxed atmosphere overall. Small tablet in the hotel lobby not really working, might be helpful if it was looked into. Pillows rather clunky and hard, almost as if inflated and the shower head would not stay into place. At least it was clean and with good amenities (coffee/tea maker provided). Tv a bit on the small side, but that is rather irrelevant. Good eating places just around the corner. Will probably stay here again.

Staff greeting was friendly and they were very efficient. I really enjoyed chatting with the staff members. Hotel is located centrally which is great for a first timer like myself.

Excellent hotel in great part of the city

The only draw back to this hotel is the amount of stairs. For the elderly or any one with mobility difficulties it is a problem. The staff were very helpful but had I known there were so many stairs I would have chosen another hotel.

Nice Hotel in Bucharest

A pleasant, clean hotel - well priced and close to the old town. They speak english and the room was comfortable and close to some nice restaurants and shopping. I would stay there again.

A Truly Top Notch Stay

I cannot say enough about this hotel, and all of the staff I encountered. To begin, I had made arrangements for an airport shuttle to pick me up, but the driver had car trouble. When I spoke to the hotel, the staff member spent a good deal of time, in English, explaining exactly how to get a reasonable fare and an honest cab driver. When I arrived, she informed me that my next transport would be complimentary. It was, and the driver was delightful, and the vehicle was gorgeous. As for the hotel, my room was fantastic. It had every possible amenity, with a wonderful assortment of toiletries, slippers, robe, and much more. The room was lovely and quiet, and I had an excellent night's sleep. Every single staff member was very friendly, extremely polite, and spoke excellent English. The breakfast was outstanding, and the restaurant was very pretty.

OK but would not stay again

An OK place. As reference, I booked their "Standard double room" and stayed for 5 nights. The good: Close to many sights. Mattress is comfortable. Newer hotel. Clean room. The bad: Very small and claustrophobic room. Wifi is slow during busy times and freezes. Staff unfriendly and very dry, especially the breakfast crew. Very small shower with lousy water pressure. Thermostat impossible to figure out and you have to call reception to get the temp changed from their main computer - it took 2 days and 2 visits to reception to get me heat, they forgot my request the first time around. Breakfast is ok but plates/utensils not cleaned properly.

Awesome value in Bucharest

Stayed 2 nights and had a lovely experience. Nice quiet safe hotel about a 15-20 min walk from old town. Staff was great and free breakfast was an added bonus.

Comfortable hotel

It was good although would have appreciated they refilled my coffee. My additional night booking with Hotel.com was considered as an extension of my tour and they refused to refill something as simple as coffee for the room.

Overall it was good but there was an empty bottle of metaxa under the bed which I thought was a bit sloppy. There was also a mild but strange smell in the room like stale alcohol.

Enjoyable Visit to Bucharest

Great hotel; excellent service and a great location near the Roman Anthenum for meeting my tours.

They made me feel like I was trying to cheat them.

During the 2 days stay, I felt like the staff was always very suspicious and that made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. They kept asking what my room number was when I was walking in and while attending breakfast. The hotel itself is good. Very clean, modern and well located. But the temperature in the shower kept changing from hot to cold on its own and the pressure wasn't that great either. There are many hotels in the area and the other 2 we stayed at offered a better experience for the same money or less. For that reason, I will not go back.

A small hotel good for one night stay

The hotel is clean and cosy, however not cheap. For the same price in the time of my stay was possible to get 5* hotel accommodation. Missing is a tea cattle in the room. Some amenities as the slippers and show cleaning kit are provided, however just once per stay. And As I stayed for several nights this was not pleasant. Perhaps I should check in and out every day? During my stay they were some construction work and after 9 am a considerable noise was created by this. The breakfast was very good, however close to the 10 am not everything always available Conclusion: not bad, but for that price should be better.

Not a 4 star hotel but rooms were clean. Breakfast was fine. About a 15 minute walk to the old town. Be careful about hiring a taxi. Agree the fee before you set off.

Hotel Berthelot

The hotel is very placed, in the center of Bucharest. It is relatively small, 5 floors above the ground, but cozy. The staff is helpful and well mannered. Overall, a pleasant stay. I would highly recommend it.

Spacious, convenient, fabulous breakfast

Though the street on which the hotel is located doesn't look terrific, I felt entirely safe and was right around the corner from the main drag, Calea Victoriei and the Piata Revolutiei. Easy walking distance to many sites. The room was larger then any single room I've ever visited in Europe, comfy bed, large bathroom. And the breakfast!! Every kind of meat, sausage, cheese, salad, fruit, pastry. I stuffed myself which I never do in the morning! Good pricing too.

Great Hotel

My husband and I stayed at the Berthot for two nights, and it was a very good experience. The rooms are big, the bathroom is a good size, and the location is good - close to many sights, but off the main street enough to be quiet. The only issue we had was getting recommendations for things like restaurants or places for a drink, and the first day we arrived, we asked at the front about the museums, and while we were assured they were open, they were, in fact, not. Otherwise a great hotel in Bucharest!

Bucharest Delight

Hotel is near-boutique in size but definitely out-sized in its attention to its clients. Staff outstanding from bag-handling porter to reception to restaurant and bar service. Located within walking distance of most of the city's tourist spots.... with taxis plentifully available when less energetically inclined. Just one more pleasantly delightful Romanian surprise!.

Very Good Hotel in almost very center of Bucharest

Comfortable hotel with fair prices in central part of Bucharest. Located behind the Radisson Blu and it is within 1 minute to the Victoria boulevard - which is most beautiful street in Bucharest. To the heart of the city you just need to walk no more than 10 minutes. The hotel amenities are good with very clean rooms and surrounding. There is very nice terrace and when the weather is good you can enjoy there much. Breakfast is quite good and probably is average to other 4* hotels. Price of stay is moderate comparing to others, providing a very good value. Only two drawbacks i found, first that my room was not cleaned on Sunday and they had not sent anyone to do it later when I asked and there is no Gym.

Consistently good

My 2nd stay at this hotel in recent months, in a city I know well. A good central location with a friendly and helpful staff. The room was fine, with good wifi connection. It is one of those functional but pleasant and enjoyable hotels you almost want to keep a secret, in case too many people discover it and you can't get a room next time you need one ! Fully deserving of the scorings it recieves, particularly in relation to the staff.

Great hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff. Miklos in reception was exceptionally helpful. Very reasonably priced as well.

A good start to a visit of Bucharest

This is a very nice hotel in a wonderful place in the city center at a walking distance of most importanta sight seeing places or at most 5 minutes with a taxi. The service is good , the staff very helpful . A nice morning breakfast and when needed a nice fix and good lunch for 25 RON . The restaurant has an extensive menu. At 5-10 minutes walk many restaurants , caffes, 2 concerts halls , a few theatres and some casinos for the interested persons. To summarze a very nice place to spend a few days in Bucharest.

Wonderful attitude

Hard to describe warm and heartfelt attitude of all staff and especially the local Director Mrs. SIMONA Fantastic location, 3 minutes walk from the main street / 10-minute walk from the historic center. Equipment and modern furniture and excellent maintenance. The food is delicious and plentiful. Great surprise
