BenBen was a beautiful property that felt like I was transported to Santorini, Greece. The staff, the hotel, the spa, and rooms were amazing! I’ll definitely visit again.
Thank you
Incredible property and service. Our room faced the Philae Temple. The staff were very friendly and professional. The food was delicious too.
As someone who rarely complains the ratings and reviews about this property are completely inaccurate. The property is on an island where you need to take a boat to get to. The boat is very limited and it is difficult to get onto and off of the island. There are small carts to transport you around the property called “tok tok” they are very scary up and down the hills of the property. They are a safety issue people, they are frightening to ride and unfortunately they’re the only way to navigate the property. I’ve heard several people scream while riding on it. There is limited food available, they have only one small restaurant with very high prices. The food is not worth its price value. The worst part about it was I got sick, and had a headache and fever. We asked the front desk if they had any medication to purchase, they told me they would order it from the pharmacy and would be there in 15 minutes. After 10 phone calls and 5 hours later I finally received the medication. We were expecting better service from the staff at this property. This was a subpar experience, and I wouldn’t recommend this property. They’re overpriced and unprofessional.
Beautiful hotel and environment , staffs are very friendly. It’s a great place for vacation. We regret to stay one day only. We will book here when we come back to Aswan.
Very exotic remote serene beautiful place unlike a regular hotel. Loved it once in a lifetime to experience.
Overall good.
The boat ride was always fun and the food was good. Service was also good. The pick up services are a little pricy considering the cost of living there, but was more professional.
Amazing location on an island. Excellent staff and service. The food and juices were incredible. Would recommend sun loungers in patio area. Jacuzzi was not warm. They staff tried to hear it up but it didn’t work
While a little tricky to get to, especially at night, this property is absolutely gorgeous. The staff is superb in every way. The breakfast was delicious. This hotel is a gem - I only wish we could have stayed longer!
The staff and the views save this place. The restaurant staff, the housekeeping, and the boat guys are very nice and helpful, always greet you with a friendly smile. The hotel needs repairs though. The jacuzzi malfunctions, and the SHOWER needs big improvement. Stayed at room 403, and the shower cannot give proper temperature water; either too hot that can hurt you, or too cold, which made the showet experience uncomfortable. Mosquito nets needs better renovation and please put mosquito nets or repellants in rooms, as mosquitos are not something the hotel can control, but can simply help the customer experience be better by working on these points. Again, the hotel staff is the best, the restaurant staff, the boat guys, expecially Ahmad, are top notch! Manager is also kind and helpful.
Beautifully situated and designed hotel. Unlike many alternatives, it is in a distance from Aswan city, creating a very peaceful environment. Also, it is close to the Philae temple complex. If arranged with the hotel, the boat ride there and back is expensive (currently 30 dollars), but is simpler and more flexible than from the main dock (e.g. for checking out the original location of the temples, birdwatching). The only negative we fould was the water temperature of the jacuzzi - probably not an issue in summer, but felt a bit chilly in January. Finally, two suggestions for management: - Play local music in the restaurant, while jazz was better, pop songs are really not a good fit for the property. - Sell the beautiful traditional pottery used in the restaurant as a side business. We tried to purchase coffee cups and a pitcher, but unfortunately it was not possible.
Unique and dramatic hotel on island of granite boulders overlooking the Philae Temple. Lovely warm rooms. Great food and spectacular views from the terrace. Downside is that everywhere is a steep climb or series of stairs. Not for the mobility impaired or elderly. If you’re young and active, a perfect spot.
Breathtaking oasis with stunning views
I understand why people like it, but.
My husband and I stayed at BenBen for 1 night. We were originally supposed to stay for 2 nights but decided it wasn't for us and ended up moving to a different hotel. I don't think it's a bad hotel, the aesthetic is nice, it's very niche, but it just wasn't a good fit for us. I am leaving this review only because when we booked this hotel we only saw 10/10 reviews and didn't feel that this was our experience. Some things to consider- you are on an island. It takes at least 15 minutes to get to to the hotel or onto the mainland by boat. This was challenging with early sightseeing tours but obviously no fault of the hotel, we just wish we realized the gravity of how isolated the hotel felt to us. This may be a major perk for some, just not for us, and that's OK. It's also a dry hotel, they advertise this and make sure you know before you go. Again, no fault of the hotel but we didn't realize how much we like the option of a pool and bar to enjoy during vacation. Overall the service was alright. Not bad, but not as friendly as other places we stayed in Egypt. We did think the food was some of the best we had while in Egypt. Us deciding to switch to a different hotel wasn't the fault of BenBen, but the things I mentioned are simply priorities of ours that I wish we would have realized before booking. I can understand why people like this hotel, it just wasn't a good fit for us.
This is an amazing location - the hotel is built on a series of levels high on a rock outcrop that overlooks the ancient Egyptian Philae Temple with stunning 360° views. The rooms are each individually designed, all have pools or spas, and the staff are wonderful. You can only reach the hotel by boat so it’s not the place for busy executives (although WiFi is very good.) there’s the BenBen meditation rock and lots to think about.
Beautiful hotel, very friendly staff and amazing spa. Also the food is delicious. Hope we stayed for more days
The boat ride to the property was amazing and the rooms were even more amazing. The staff was very pleasing and our dinner and view has no words. 2 thumbs up for BenBen
One of the coolest, most relaxing and wonderful places we have ever stayed before. This was such a treat for us, everything was wonderful from the moment we stepped into the hotel, the staff was so welcoming and friendly and did everything they could to make sure we had a lovely stay. It is designed beautifully and our room felt so special. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Egypt and we wish we had more time at the Ben Ben. We also loved the live music every night at dinner, the Nubian music was beautiful. We will definitely be coming back to Aswan for many reasons and this hotel is one of those reasons.
Best place to stay in Aswan!
We stayed here before going to Abu Simbel and afterwards in the cruise to Luxor. Fantastic hotel with unique ambience. Highly recommended!
