Very nice staff, but room, and particularly the bathroom, in need of some attention and renovation to modernise. Still, a pleasant stay, we were really only there to sleep.

Outrageous pricing

The stay was fine and what you would expect, my only issue was the extreme rates being charged $420 per night as they knew the soccer comp was in town. We joined the team later so could t book far in advance and in terms of value for money it was very poor indeed. That rate is comparable to a 5star luxury hotel and as such it fell way short. Really taking advantage of parents.

We have stayed here before, they are good sized rooms however like a lot of motels the bedside lamps and lack of PowerPoints can be an issue.

Each time that we have stayed at the Ben Chifley, the rooms have always been clean tidy and the beds are very comfortable.

In Room 4 the shower head needs to be replaced & the air-con unit needs a service. Otherwise very happy with the accommodation. Many thanks

Stayed here for 1 night. Position of motel is good, with not much traffic noise. Parking on the other hand is a different story. We could not get parking outside our unit due to an inconsiderate driver taking up two parking spots. This made it extremely difficult to get a park when arriving back at motel around 9pm.

Lovely personal at the Ben Chifley. Place is quite ok for a night or two. Definitely needs a facelift, especially in the bathrooms. Some USB ports would be nice! Generally a good stay for us. Very good friendly service and it was clean. Comfy bed too. We would stay again.

Basic and OK.

A good basic room with a king bed, double lounge, dining table and 2 chairs. Blankets and 2 spare pillows in cupboard. Equipped with toaster, jug, microwave, crockery and cutlery. BUT 3 lights not working and smoke alarm missing.

Staff were wonderful. We had a late check in and early checkout and they were very accomodating. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Room amenities were good, milk was in the fridge, and shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the bathroom. I would stay here if travelling through Bathurst again :)

Pros: - When a 2 inch arc of electricity erupted from a powerpoint on our first night, as we plugged in the room heater because the air con for whatever reason was only outputting cold air (why it wasnt set to heat in winter, and checked, was anyones guess, we couldnt have been the forts people there this winter...), and made me get instantly straight with Jesus because i thought i was going to die, while we had no electricity for about 2 hours and went to bed in misery and freezing, at least a text at 10:30 at night DID get a reply and a fix hours later. Genuinely appreciated someone attending to the lack of electricity at midnight, especially as my partner had a job interview the next morning in Dubbo and needed to iron her dress to be ready to go at the crack of dawn the next morning. - Cant argue the room layout of the triple room, and the general presentation of the room - Great shower water pressure and temperature Cons: - Felt i was going to die from faulty powerpoint about 15 minutes after getting there, not a great start :) - Room not serviced properly: when we left the please tidy my room sign the next morning and headed for Dubbo. Beds were (re)made and towels changed, but the dishes we rinsed and left to obviously be changed were still there up;on our return at 8:15PM that nigth, after a long day, and just wanting to crash and have a relaxing night (this is why you book a motel/hotel). Bins also untouched. - TV where even changing volume was a task.......

This motel is a little dated and in need of some work with fixtures and paint showing there age. However the room allocated to us was more a suite and had one queen bed in a separate room and another in the main area plus two singles. We ended up sleeping in the main area as the heating was not operating in the bedroom ( not ideal in Bathurst). The pillows and mattress we're ok without being great. A toaster, jug, microwave and utensils were provided though the cutlery still had food on some of them. On a more positive note the staff were very friendly and we walked just down the road to a nice pub for dinner, the area appears safe and there was ample parking.

Bathroom smelled really bad like a leaking septic pipe. Had to keep the door closed because the smell invaded the bedroom. Shower was luke warm despite waiting 10 minutes for the hot water to become hot. Something's not right at this place, no staff on premises and higher price point than better motels.

My parents stayed here while visiting us in Bathurst during winter. I had checked online that they listed electric blankets before I booked, but apparently the new owners got rid of them when they took over. The heater did not work the first night and the bathroom has a section of mesh above the window which is open to the elements. A bitterly cold environment for two elderly people. The room was not serviced on Sunday and when they called to ask for fresh towels, they were told it would be $50 to get them. Not happy! 😡😡😡

We was in room 4 we couldn’t even park outside our door we had to 4 spaces away from our door that’s the only bad thing everything else was great we will stay again if we have to

We stayed one night and it was by far the smoothest, hassle free stay we’ve ever had. They sent us an sms message on the day with instructions on how to access our room and have us wifi password. The place was dated but clean and had all you needed for a nights stay. Exiting the motel was also very easy. Thank you!

We stayed in Bathurst for rd 3 WJL Basketball & the motel is convenient to the stadium. The room was quiet small but very clean & tidy.. The traffic was unbearable on the friday night, so loud & constant, we had room 9 which was the closest to the road. Would probably find a quieter spot next visit.. many thanks

Not enough parking spaces close to rooms. The key return box is not low enough for short people.

Room was clean & tidy. Water pressure in shower left a bit to be desired. When all is considered not a bad place to stay.

Only thing we found the.. traffic noise, trucks etc were loud, very busy road. Garage next door, handy for fresh milk etc, the pub 5 min walk away had a really nice bistro, good and surrounds. Old bar at front lovely and people friendly. There is a pizza place across the road but closed Monday.

Did not appreciate the snoring clearly heard from room next door from midnight till we left at 9am.

The bed was comfy however there was no soap or shampoo or conditioner provided like other hotels, I was unable to wash my hair.

Bathroom needs a renovation

Very comfortable and secure room but only downfall was the shower screen door would not close and upon checkout no one was available to report this issue to as office was closed.

We did miss bed lamps in the room and only a double bed , we found was too small for two people. Room also too small for two people. Otherwise clean. Thanks

Rock hard beds, rock hard pillows, a shower that never stopped dripping, plates and cutlery weren’t clean, and stupidly expensive. Would not come back.

Booked queen, got double. Tiny tiny room (23). Requested back room due to road noise, got it. Clean. Good shower & nice shower gel. Netflix bonus. Pool clean and nice to cool off in. Stayed one night on road trip.

The venue itself was great. However, after informing the motel I was leaving that day, the cleaning staff took it upon themselves to pack up all of my belongings, removing items from the bathroom, drawers, wardrobe, etc... and stack them on the bench along with my bag. The room was paid for covering the next 2 nights and no refund was asked for or given. The manager/owner didn't appear to be concerned about this breach of privacy and security. Extremely disappointing.

No bedside light! Nearest switch 6 ft away……..so no reading in bed. Pity. Getting up to visit the bathroom during the night……….tricky. TV ……..you have to fix that! Awful.

The suggested dining option within walking distance was great. They gave us a unit at the back of the property to be mindful of the highway traffic noise and we were not disturbed at all.

It was such a nice room and the gentleman in Reception was so nice. When we returned in the late evenings, our heating was turned on for comfort and fresh towels everyday. It was so lovely. I would definitely stay again and recommend them to everyone.

We booked a room with 2 queen size beds as there was 2 adults and 2 children staying. When we checked in the room only had 1 queen and a single, when i questioned the room at the front desk. They were not very helpful and just said sorry but we are fully booked out and pretty much youll have to deal with it. The room was booked more than 2 months prior to staying and not even a 4th towel or fold up bed was offered. It was a very squishy nights sleep thats for sure.

Property was clean and tidy with some flaking paint in the bathroom area. Ben was a little bit to firm for my liking.

Excellent three night stay

We stayed three nights and found the Ben Chifley Motor Inn to be excellent. The room was perfectly clean and reasonably modern, the bathroom fine and the shower excellent. Our room was toward the back of the complex and was very quiet, front rooms may get some noise from the traffic. The Dudley Hotel just down the road serves excellent meals; other restaurants or pubs/clubs are a bit of a walk away. Be aware that there is a rather excessive 2.75% credit card surcharge when paying direct to the property.
