Great place to stay
Good Hotel
Hotel was great. Restaurant staff need training. Food was good but two few options. Service inconsistant.
Good valued hotel in Beijing!
The stay was excellent, Asia hotel is definitely one of the best valued hotels in Beijing, in terms of value to price ratio. It shows some wear and tear as all Beijing hotels are, unless you pay premium price. The staff at the hotel is wonderful, always shown professionalism and goodwill. Occasionally you small smoke either in the elevators and public areas which is some less cultured people not the fault of the hotel. However I would encourage the hotel management to enforced the none smoking mandate.
Great place to stay
Excellent service at front desk.
Amazing service. Great personal working at the hotel.
Probably worth staying elsewhere
Really old hotel and smell of smoke in the rooms, the pool is out dated and not pleasant to stay in. Location is good but I would look for better hotels in the area. The breakfast is expensive and not worth it
The rooms were fine, and it is very close to Dongsishitiao Metro Station. However, there is no place to sit in the lobby (unless you pay a very high price for a drink in the hotel café). We just wanted to sit down for an hour after checking out, while waiting for a friend to pick us up. The ground floor staff told us there were some seats on levels 2 and 3, but when we went up there, the staff upstairs said those seats were not available for guests to use (even though nobody was using them at the time). They made us feel like we were causing trouble by asking for a place to sit down. Why don't they just put a few sofas in the massive lobby for guests to use, like most other hotels? Also the outside of the hotel looks much more shabby than in the photo: bits of masonry missing and signs up beside the building saying 'danger: falling plaster'. Needs some serious external renovations.
A thumb up for me
A thumb up for Asia Beijing Hotel for me, I arrived the hotel early and was arranged a room to check in as early as 9.30am ( normally check in time is 2pm) and to my surprise, the room was not only clean and spacious as well! Everything was good from details including the bathroom toiletries. The ground floor manager and staff are all polite and helpful. I enjoyed my 4 nights stayed very much and there is also door knocking in the early evening.... A cleaner to ask if I lack of anything or have any further requirements, this is very thoughtful to the hotel guess indeed. Miss Hero also allows me to check out late on the last day as my flight was delayed to the late afternoon. There is 4 restaurant in this hotel and I really enjoy my Cantonese cruises meals at the Boat Restaurant. I should is excellent and price worth. Across the street have McDonald's, outlets and Pizza outlets that allow a quick breakfast or dinner. The location is good as is only approx 5 minutes walk to Subway Station and the bell boy will help you to book a taxi if necessary. Location convenient / Clean Room / Staff helpful and polite is all what I needed in overseas trips. Nothing is perfect, there are just only 2 suggestions to make it even better. The guest price for breakfast should be more affordable given with nice food and the hotel should cater a nice cosy space for drinking beer or wine. Seems perfect for me. I will stay in Asia Hotel Beijing again the next visit Eldrick Mak 22nd April 2019
We enjoyed our stay at the Asia hotel. The pool and sauna were a great addition to ease us after travel and to rejuvenate in between business meetings. We were walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Very clean and we had a plate of fruit waiting for us in our room when we checked in. My only personal complaint is the lack of non smoking roooms. The smoke travels throughout the floors but they did have air filters in the room to help with this. The Old Dock restaurant in the hotel also serves delicious Peking duck and the old boats to sit in are lovely. We would stay at this hotel again on future trips.
This is a old hotel, this time our room curtains are broken could not open it. It’s not easy to get a taxi from hotel, have to wait 30 min to go to a near by restaurant. But the hotel staffs are very nice and helpful!
hotel is good, convenient location, welcoming service. The only thing that’s slightly disappointing is the breakfast doesn’t taste very well.
Bad air circulation
Not so near to tube station or the malls. But walkable. The thing I cannot stand is the air con system. I stayed in non- smoking room but my room was just filled with cigarette smoke and smell from the aircon system which was recirculating all the bad air from other smoking rooms. 4 stars? I’d give it 1 star.
Great location, beds not so much ...
I stay here a lot due the awesome location, but the beds are as hard as a wood board - not the most comfortable.
Excellent location
Overall, a good hotel. The room cleaner is very helpful, friendly and polite. The hotel is clean and nice. Only one small but perhaps not so trivial issue. I really don't want to find fault with it but I paid for a higher price range room because I thought it is newer, and I expect it to be better, but still the toilet has some stains in the bath tub handle. It should not have been the case because the stains can be easily removed. Not so bad but bad enough for me. Previously, I stayed in another room and it is cheaper and same size and looks like no such stains. Also, I don't understand why they don't let the guests control the aircon temperature since it is already May. However, because of the location and it is still a clean and nice hotel, better than the Swissotel further but not so far away, I still give it a 5 star rating.
Room old. And smelly. Also some cigarettes smell into my room ... as non smoker .. it is tough
Staff needs hospitality trainng
Front desk staffs really need professional training. the management of the hotel looks no good.
Mediocre Hotel
This hotel was of average quality, nothing really stands out good or bad, with the exception of the bed which was the hardest bed I have ever slept on.
Disappointing room
We booked the standard room. The room was very small with no window and decent facilities. the first room we got had a smoky smell and the second one (we changed the room) was dirty. the reception team english is not very good and its hard to communicate with them. don't book this room!! Disappointment is guaranteed.
Nice and comfortable hotel in Beijing
Beautiful hotel., very comfortable, close to everything (like metro) in Beijing, reasonably priced, very friendly staff - I would recommend it to everybody
Comfortable hotel easy transport links
Hotel is 200m from a central line subway station, which is close to the subway link to the airport. Subway also has good links to the main tourist attractions such as the forbidden city and Temple of heaven. Staff are friendly and some (but not all) speak good English - it would be helpful to have a few phrases of Mandarin. Rooms are comfortable & clean and the hotel is well equipped. Probably best for couples or individual travellers.
need some refresh
hotel is old, need some refresh (bathroom, bed). noise from the street as window isn't closing properly (even on executive floor on 18th floor), Air Conditioning is not working, they that in cold season only heating works (it was 25°C in the room) breakfast is average
Very accommodating. Staff was excellent. Excellent
Very accommodating excellent service staff very friendly location is good
great location and very helpful staff in general
I spent three weeks in total and was in general very pleased. Issues that need to be addressed are the flexibility of staff to interpret rules and regulations. They need to have clear that a customer needs to know that he/she is listened and actions are taken and not to argue with them. Also, the need to be flexible with charges that are subject to interpretation. Example, my reservation included breakfast and yet one day that I had to have breakfast at the room I was charged an additional breakfast despite the fact that the breakfast was very limited compared to the one offered at the restaurant. In this case, the management should have not charge me additionally and should not have me request a reimbursement from Expedia.
Good stay
Classic Chinese hotel with a slightly faded glitter. Good service. Tiny gym, but a reasonable sized pool. Not next to anything, but central location if you are willing to walk for 10-15 minutes.
Nice hotel with great location
Very nice spacious, clean and comfortable rooms. The hotel has a very good location close to the metro and there is a bus stop right across the street. The staff is good but could be more helpful.
Great place to stay
The location of the hotel is perfect. Near subway and in a good neighborhood. I felt safe walking around with my luggage at night and returning late the rest of my days. The staff were really helpful and kind. Room was really clean.
Great hotel in very good location
The room was very nice, the staff were very helpful. It's only a few minutes walk from the subway. I had a great time there and would book it again.
Disappointed - requiring upgrade
My main issues with this hotel are: 1) it had not been kept up to the expected standards since my last trip here two years earlier. The exterior of the hotel looks dated with some parts of the building requiring upgrading / repairing. Even the sign on the hotel could do with a clean! 2) upon checking in I was asked for a cash deposit. My hotel room was fully paid for through Expedia. The deposit requested was Almost the same amount I had paid for two weeks stay. The hotel reception (3 of them) insisted I must pay this. I advised I wanted to cancel the booking because if this. The hotel said I couldn't. 3) attitude of the hotel manager / booking department. Having had the issues mentioned at (2) I contacted Expedia. Three Expedia agents tried contacting the hotel - who the kept refusing to discuss with Expedia and would then hang up (according to the Expedia agents). Expedia eventually advised me they would refund the majority of my hotel costs (it took them two days with numerous emails to the hotel) and I arranged to book another hotel via Expedia. Upon checking out the receptionist told me I couldn't! They advised there booking department had not received any contact from Expedia and had not received any emails. They attempted to stop me leaving - I ignored them and left as agreed with Expedia.
Good hotel
Check in was a breeze, but some mix up on the room. The ac did not work proper, so we changed rooms next day. The rooms are a bit small, but clean and cool. That's what you need in Beijing in the summer!! Beds are comfortable. Great location to subway and some decent food around there.
Convenient place and friendly service
Enjoyed our stay here. It is walking distance from the subway and one stop for Dong Zhi Men Subway where you get the Airport Express. There isn't much to do right outside the hotel but its a short walk to Sanlitun where there is shopping and food. The pool was a big plus for me given the hot weather!
Smoky but ok for price
Impossible to avoid the smell of smoke. We originally checked in on the 18th floor but asked to move as that floor smelled like a chimney. We were then relocated to the 13th floor which was an improvement but you could tell previous guests had smoked in the room even though it was posted as non-smoking. The room on the 13th floor was recently renovated as the bathroom was much nicer than the one on the 18th floor. The food for breakfast on the other hand was excellent.
This hotel is quite and also have good service. The room is small which I was stay. But is the cheaper one, so I think is fine.
Better than Average. But not great. Not bad either
Pretty good, better than average. Not sure its worth paying for the 'slightly better' rooms as they seemed pretty much the same as the bog standard room. And trying to change them through Hotels.com after you arrive is nearly impossible.
convenient, quiet, and clean hotel. I liked their fruit plate a lot.
Very clean. Sewer smell in room at times however.
Very clean room and hotel in general. Breakfast not complimentary and very costly. At times the room smells like a sewer.
Absolutely great experience. Walking distance to subway station, great food across the street. Will come back next time in town.
Nice hotel
The hotel is a little far from key attractions (6km to Forbidden City) but Dongsi Shitoao metro station is a 5-10 minute walk. Very few staff know English but most are eager to help. I had some good meals at the restaurants across the road and there is a supermarket to stock up on fruit or snacks for your day trips and a bank to change money. Overall great hotel.
Nice hotel, clean rooms, good location, great price
Beautiful hotel
A very classy hotel which is excellent value for money. The staff were very helpful and the food was good. The room was comfortable although the mattress was a little too firm for my wife and I.
Stayed for three nights. Everything is good. Easy access to food places.
$160 room worth $60
"$160" room on sale at "$81". This was not a $160 room, wasn't a $81 room either. Maybe $60 is more appropriate. Room was very small compared to photos of it. Mold in shower and this was said to be a "non-smoking" room but deffinately smell of smoke. I don't write reviews often and I've stayed in maybe 150-200 Chinese hotels. For the price (ended up being $90+ after tax) there's much better out there. Funny thing was my cab driver warned me that this hotel has gone down hill, but I disregarded it as we arrived and I saw a Bentley out front. I won't stay there again given the many other options.
Good option for Beijing
Good hotel, plenty of easy to access eating options close by, including a McDonald's if you want a change from Chinese dishes. Also a supermarket across the road. Rooms are comfortable and good hot water in the shower. Toilets are those old Asian style though which can block just by looking at them. Television includes HBO. All in all a good option for a Beijing stay, I did walk to forbidden city from hotel, took about an hour.
Nice Hotel
it was a nice hotel, but couldn't sleep whole night because heating system of room have a problem, can't control temperature......too much heat
Nice hotel - good price
I always stay at this hotel when I am in Beijing, The location is good, clean and good service.
Good hotel
Friendly staff, large lobby, and fast service checkin and checkout was a breeze. Lobby looked great, friendly doorman.
Wonderful location
Top floor rooms have a wonderful city view. Really easy to get to all attractions by public transport. Really friendly staff.
Great location hotel
The hotel room is clean and nice. But the isolation is not very good if you want to have quiet room. And the shower is not good due to the small stream of water out of the shower.
Great first impression of Hotels in China
This was the first hotel I had stayed in in China at the start of a 4 week holiday. The hotel itself was great, central to most activities and the rooms were very nice and modern. The staff did not seem to speak a lot of English, I was lucky I had a mandarin speaking friend travelling with me through this part of China. but apart from that, they were very friendly and more than willing to try and help out.
hotel is good for the price.
easy access to main attraction by local transportation.
Quite nice for business people to get around without much traffic.
First time visiting Beijing, good experience
Overall the hotel is good. The front staffs were very nice and eager to help, but the bad thing for us was very few of their staff knew how to speak English.
The room quality wasn't to my usual standards with western brand hotels, very basic and average room, deco and comfort is really just average as it was very aged and simple.
Nice stay in Beijing
Good hotel to be near the subway line #2 and also within walking distance to Sunlitan area. Maybe not that many good restaurants around there, but the food we found was decent.
Nice executive 17-19 floors services with ti
Not too bad except when checking out of the hotel, we were held up for more than 35 minutes!
Beijing Asia Hotel stay
Hotel was conveniently located in proximity of subway station. Very polite and helpful staff.
Nice hotel. Staff have no customer service skills
The room service breakfast card was not collected so I missed out on having breakfast. When I brought it to the staff's attention they were not interested. The F&B Manager finally emerged and assured me that I would receive it the next morning. It was not. Back to reception where more trainee staff were pushed at me even though they could not speak english and we both struggled. The duty manager came and whilst I was telling him my dilemma he reached over the reception counter to answer a phone that any of the 4 reception staff could have dealt with. He did not even give me a courtesy pause. So rude and dismissive.
Ok hotel that should be better for the price.
There was nothing terrible about the hotel, but nothing great. It had a nice looking lobby, but the shower walls were rusty and looked like they were out in 1973. It had a staff that worked hard, but I called for a washcloth, because the maid took them and left no new ones, and they show up with 2 towels. Bottom line, you can do better for the price.
Review of Beijing Asia Hotel
Overall the stay was pleasant and nice esp since this is located in the CBD.
NICE !
Very nice room , staff !
Nice hotel
great
Convenient location, close to metro
Close to Dong Si Shi Tiao metro station, facilities were in good condition, hotel was clean, staff were accommodating. The gym was not much of a gym as there was only a treadmill, some dumbbells and a lat pulldown machine, but I'm not staying there to use the gym.
Nice area, well maintained hotel with poor air con
The air conditioning was terrible. The room was so hot and the room temperature couldn't be adjusted.
great place very friendly
excellent for shopping near all site
Good hotel close to attractions!
I enjoyed staying here! Service was good, rooms were very clean!
OK neighborhood; very close to subway line 2.
You have to look for the right employee that speaks enough English ....., nice people, though! Concierge helped us a lot forwarding ou luggage to another hotel by calling them and arranging transport, etc. All well done.
We stayed in 2 locations in Beijing during our Asia Holiday. We really liked the location of this hotel and the hotel looks very swish in the reception area however the room although adequate could do with an update and better air conditioning. Please don't let this put you of as there are many plus points:- the garden, the boat restaurant and a lovely pool. I gave the other hotel a better rating because of the air con and the decor in the room but if I was to go back I would probably go back to Hotel Asia.
Conveniently located with affordable price
I was there for two nights, the hotel is 15 minutes of walking distance to Sanlitun, and 5 minutes to the subway. The lobby is grand but the room seems a bit of outdated. I was first put in the room that the AC was broken, then was told that it was because the hotel turns it off for the month of September since the heat will be turned on in October (i don't see the logic here but that was what I was told), but a mechanic came in to check and said that it was actually broken nevertheless. so I asked to transferred to another room, this time was put in the executive floor, the room is smaller, still looks a bit old but everything was functional. The staff is friendly and helpful, came in to do the air spread since the room smell smoke. Checked out the pool, it was old and needs a swimming cap, so i didn't jump in. The gym is just a small area where they put a few machines in. Don't expect it to be a 4-star but it's a good choice for the location and convenience.
Not bad, but pictures are better than the actual
Chose this hotel specifically because of their big pool, but it was too cold. Water should be heated but it is not heated. No hot Jacuzzi. Shower facilities were dirty. No steam room. Dry sauna wasn't working. room was clean.
The location is very good, close to Dongsishitiao Subway station. Easy also to get cabs, although traffic around Sanlitun area can be a mess. Plenty of options for food-restaurants, coffee shops and supermarkets-nearby. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has a fabulous swimming pool and nice health facilities. The buffet breakfast had a lot to offer but was way overpriced. The room rate without breakfast included was very reasonable, though. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Easy stay
hotel is 5 min walk to the subway. Room is clean and comfort. However the hotel elevators have very old carpet and smelly. Overall experience was great.
Great hotel, lovely staff. Not far from center.
Great staff and facilities. The hotel is five minutes walk to subway at Dingsi Shitai. From there a few minutes to Wangfujing, Tianammen a Square etc. Hotel facilities were great. Hotel is very clean. Staff are lovely. Rooms kept very clean and TV has HBO, BBC and Star Sports in English. My Overall experience was great. Beijing is an amazing city and I've stayed in several hotels over the years. This was the best and the hotel I would recomend. One complaint is some of the junior staff are not the best at English. This led on one occasion to a member of staff shout.ing at me. When I asked what the problem was he said 'no problem' and seemed to calm down. This was a one off an overall i would highly recommend this hotel.
Stay in China
Great stay originally booked for 10 days and extend it by another 3 night.
Clean, closet to subway!
Annoying Noise until 2 am, very confused.
Holiday in Beijing
The stay was great. Had no issues. Good location to public transport and places to eat. Stayed for 10 days.
Good luxury hotel,in business district
Stayed 1 night here as it was slightly closer to the airport for an early flight. Compared to a hutong style hotel this place has all the trapping of a luxury hotel and is very comfortable indeed. If you like swimming the pool is a good plus too. You can also walk to the trendy saluntin area but it isn't near the more central attractions. Lovely hotel, would stay again
A mature and good stay.
My 2nd time at this hotel because it is in good location for using all transit and is well priced. Also it's not too hectic and is a mature hotel. The rooms are starting to be a bit dated and smoke odor but I'm not that picky so felt comfortable after a few days. The restaurants are very nice but very $$$$ for rich non-guests.
5 star value at 3 star price
We booked 5 nights . On the first night the rooms air conditioning was not working and we were having trouble with the wifi. A young trainee came and called for specialists to fix the problems. When the problems could not be fixed the young trainee moved us to a new room . the restaurants in the hotel are 6 star.
I had pleasant experience with the hotel: h elpful staff, clean room, convenient location...though the furniture is a bit old.
Nice hotel close to subway
We arrived earlier in the morning and hotel let us checking in. Nice shower size with very good water flow. It charges extra for extra person. We stored our luggage there after we checked out for several hours and the hotel can call cab for you.
good experience here
We were here for a business trip. We actually booked for a superior room, but when we arrived, the room was not available. So, we got upgrade to suite room, which was pretty nice. Two comments would be the room has smoking smell although it's non-smoking room, and air-condition couldn't be adjusted. The location is great too, in walking distance to subway. The reception is very nice, also helping us for a taxi to the airport.
Strategic location but average hotel
Pros: Strategic location very near to Sanlitun Street, close to Subway Station, easy to hail taxi in nearby highway, good overall english skills among front desk staffs, good flat screen TV Cons: Internet speed in the room (wireless/cable) are slow most of the time, old carpet (need "extra" cleaning or being replaced), pricey breakfast, poorly maintained equipment in the gym, need to plan ahead for length of stay (on the spot booking for stay extension could be very expensive and need to be rebooked from travel site (Expedia in my case); staff not really competent in handling these types of matter), noise isolation between rooms not effective
Best kept Secret
As an avid swimmer, the Hotel offers the best sized pool in Beijing, short of the Olympic stadium pool. The Bamboo Garden is a favorite summer hideaway to enjoy a beer and a snack surrounded by an oasis of greenery with Goldfish enjoying the calm. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the Chinese food is great. The "boat restaurant" offers a number of floating eating hideaways inside boats that are actually floating. This is a great place to finish a long day with good friends and a bottle of wine. I enjoy myself when I stay at this hotel and have been going back for many years....but don't tell anyone!
Beijing's best kept secret
I have been going to this hotel since it was built. It is in a great location near the 2nd ring road and subway station. The hotel was renovated a few years ago...transformed would be a better description. The swimming pool is huge! For an avid swimmer like me this is awesome. It is open to 11 PM every day. It has a sauna as well. A restaurant allows you to sit in floating boats like a Chinese fishing village...such a surprising environment. The. Shanghai restaurant is like a Palace environment and the ground floor Bamboo garden is an oasis in the summer. A surprising and pleasant experience.
Superb Hotel and much better than what it looks
this hotel was better than i expected. it is located 5min walk away from a major station. it is in an excellent location of beijing. food and ammenities are all nearby of walking distance. staff are helpful and the rooms are very comfortable.
Nice, classy hotel, very close to public transport
Hotel room was wonderful. There was a little problem with the language barrier since I don't speak Chinese and most of the staff doesn't speak English, but overall good stay. However, the Hotel restaurant was less than desirable. We waited 30 minutes for the bill. I finally had to walk across the restaurant to interrupt the wait staff from their hang out around the host stand and ask for the check. Food there was over priced and nasty.
A World Class Hotel
One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Ultra 1st Class in every way. The low $ rate that we got from Hotels.com was far below what this hotel was worth. Breakfast had many western favorites as well as Asian specialties. Couldn't be more pleased with our 3 days there.
excellent location with good value!
the hotel is well located and near the subway. i got a great rate and the hotel is nice, clean and the service was good. they cleaned the room twice in a day!!! although the internet was provided, it was kind of slow. a good stay!
Asia Hotel
Do not stay in this Hotel noone will b able to help u it will take entire staff to answer your quistion !!!!
5 star service at a 3 star price
Was there 4 days. There was always someone on staff that new enough English to take care of any question. Will stay there again my next trip in Beijing.
No air-con during Autumn
Hotel shut- down the air-con during our stay (23~25 Oct). Was informed by Front Desk that hotel will shut-down the air-con during the Autumn period. We had difficult times to sleep as the room was warm. We requeted for a fan and was informed that there was no fan available! Overall, the staffs were helpful.
Asia hotel, Beijing
I stayed here many years ago and was very impressed with the hotel, that,s why I decided to try it again. It has not changed a bit. It is still a good hotel at a great price if you book early enough. I booked it for the week of a trade show in Beijing, but decided to go early and see some places I have never been in Beijing. The price of the hotel doubled when I tried to add days. I ended up staying at another hotel the week before the show. My only complaint is not with the hotel, but the breakfast. It is not very good when you consider that the price is $26 for a less than average buffet. The only other food is across the very busy street at McDonalds. They really need to reconsider this exorbitant breakfast price.
Its a nice hotel.....but remember....it's China
Picked this hotel for location, which is fantastic, rates, which were good, and photos, which looked nice. The room was very large and nicely appointed. It needed the carpets cleaned as there were a lot of stains. The biggest issue was the air conditioner, which they evidently turn off at some point in October. The room was warm and their suggestion was to open the windows. Have you ever seen the smog in Beijing? It was a bit of a struggle before one of the rooms was switched to a wing where the a/c was running at partial. That was after a "discussion" where they wanted to charge me like $100us a day more. I prevailed and the rest of the stay was nice. Breakfast was good. not great. but varied and good. Staff in general was very helpful. I would stay there again
a very comfortable stay
Very convenient location, helpfull staff,5mins walk from subway and plenty of nearby places to eat.
Nice location, Excellent Hotel
We stayed 4 days. No complains. Rooms are very comfortable. Location is a few minutes from the Metro #2 line, very convenient. Travel to and from Airport by Airport Express Train and Metro takes about 45 minutes. Highly recommended for any traveler. We got a discount price through Expedia, so it is the best priced hotel in city. We had a 2 year old with us, and he slept through the night just fine.
Very nice. confortable
If you are used of 3 star hotels like us, this one was comfy! If your used to 4 stars and more, you might find it a little run down (just the bathroom). There was a lot of little treat like the heat light in the bathroom, fridge and splendid view on Beijing. The staff didn't understand everything in english but did their best to accomodate us. They were kind. Near subway station. Mc Donald in front street for breakfast!
Warm smiles!
Excellent! Especially there were sweet smiles on the staff's faces.
Very Satisfied
Nice services, helpful and polite. Good location 5min walk from the metro.
Beijing Asia Hotel | Hotel in Beijing | Travala.com
Great value to your bucks, it’s one of the older hotels in Beijing, but the staffs are wonderful, no less professional than other hotels, even newer ones. The house keeping people are also in great spirits and very helpful. Nearly free laundry is essential for guests who stay for longer time, because dry clean stores are hit and miss kind, so it’s an added advantage. I strongly recommend Asia Hotel.
