Lovely & clean in a great location. However the resort charged my business credit card that I’d used to secure the booking, prior to arrival which was annoying as I’d specified I wanted to pay upon arrival. Neither the resort or the booking site Wotif would take any accountability unsurprisingly.

Great property conveniently located near the beach and harbor, awesome friendly personnel. Our unit appeared to be either renovated or new. Great experience all round.

No AC, it was a bit stuffy, but opening windows fixed that. I guess nobody has AC there

Great location, very walkable. Front desk closes early which is annoying for late arrivals and rooms feel a bit dated. But I don’t think you’ll find much better in Whitianga.

Nice room. Single bed in the lounge was uncomfortable. The supplied milk was UHT - yuck.

Very friendly staff. Very comfortable quiet accommodation. Very close to beach, shops and wharf.

Nice accomodation close to the beach and town. Comfortable rooms with lots of space and access to a heated pool. Loses one star due to only having a very limited number of plates, cutlery and utensils in the unit which made meals difficult.

Best location for a family holiday

Roomy, clean, great little kitchen, fantastic bed(s), awsome balcony, plenty of utensils, safe, stone throw to the water, 2 stone throws to cafes, shops, eateries etc, well maintained, attracts like minded holiday seekers, one of our best accommodation find out of 20 different places we've stayed over our 4 week stay in NZ, with our 2 kids, both islands!

Great location!

Perfect location near the beach. Walkable restaurants and a 30 minute drive to Cathedral Cove. Room was clean and spacious. Would highly recommend staying here if traveling to Whitianga

Newly renovated Apartment, spacious and clean. Very close to beach and wharf area. Highly recommended.

We had an excellent two-night stay with family. The lady at reception was very friendly and welcoming. The location is convenient, close to shops and dining options, and just a few steps from the beach. We’d love to return and stay longer next year! ;)

The property is nice and beautiful. Clean. The pool was nice.

There was an unknown dripping substance on some of the walls and the fridge hadn’t been cleaned after what seams like someone had a fish in it

Very spacious, central city location

This is a very nice motel. I had booked a one bedroom unit and the only thing I didn't like was that the bathroom was attached to the bedroom so we had to walk through the bedroom to use it (especially if people were asleep in the bedroom)

Dated and not so clean

We stayed for one night. Greeted by Jacqueline at reception. Such a lovely and friendly woman who showed us where our room is, and where to park. The place is clean, double bed in a separate room with ensuite. Ensuite has a shower over bath which is also a jet spa. Lovely water pressure from the shower. A single bed in the lounge. Functional kitchenette with tea, coffee making facilites. Quite creaky floors, we were on the 1st floor. Otherwise was a quiet area, near the beach, walkable distance to the four square, bar, restaurants, takeaways. Easy to explore the area on foot and get your steps in.

Great place to stay

A beautiful resort in a beautiful beach town. Room was spacious and clean, dining room served great food, laundromat on site. Lots of dining options near the hotel, beach is just across the street, grocery is close.

Looking forward to coming back

Nice place to stay at a reasonable rate. Room was clean and comfortable. Convenient to bars and restaurants. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable and recommended some great places to eat drink and get great coffee. Will come and stay again next time we are in the area.

The Beachside resort was an excellent place to stay for the time we were in Whitianga. It must be a new place because everything is very well designed and spotlessly clean. The staff are friendly, relaxed and professional. A bonus is that the lost spring hot pools are just through the back gate. Next time we will bring our tennis racquets.

Great place to stay

Excellent location close to town centre. Very clean. Only issue was water pressure in the shower was low in the room we had. But a minor inconvenience

We had a great 4 days here. The accommodation had everything we needed and our room was 100 metres from the beach. The only negative was that the lounge chairs (imitation leather) were in very bad condition - the outer layer was peeling off badly - we covered the lounge with a spare blanket which did the trick so we couldn’t see it. Despite the lounge, we would go there again.

Warm welcome from office staff on a very cold day. Quick checkin as bookings through Hotels.com / Expedia and nil card surcharges. Room was well appointed, great size for the two of us and warm as the afternoon sun was streaming in. Bed, lounge suite comfortable, smart TV for signing in, kitchen stocked well for a meal at home. Very happy with our total holiday.

Best motel ever!!

We had a one night family stay, but we could have stayed for much longer!! It is the Best Motel I’ve ever stayed at. It had everything: comfy bed, clean bathroom, nice kitchen, tv and dvd player and free parking. There was also a heated swimming pool as well as a children’s playground and tennis court!! It was a2 minute walk to the beach and 5mins by car to the town centre or a supermarket. We can’t wait to go back!!!

Average Motel in Scenic Area

Please do not be fooled by the title of the place as it is in fact a motel. Everything is quite average of a hotel, despite the fact that after I left, I was covered in bites from head to toe. I went to reception and they tried to blame it in the fact that I probably walked on the sand. Which I in fact, had not. Next they tried to blame it on allergies. All to save themselves a pretty penny. Do yourself a favour and book somewhere else.

Property is well located to town where multiple venues for eating and drinking are available. The additional twin bed was quite uncomfortable. It is an older hotel that does need updating

Great location and comfortable room

The room was everything we needed, easy walking distance to town and waterfront. The lost spring is through a gate at the back of the hotel, super handy after a few cocktails in the pool. Really enjoyed our stay

It is close to the beach and town centre. Th3 only thing missing in the rooms were heat pumps for the AC as it was warm in the rooms. A fabulos place to stay.

The room was wonderful, spacious and clean. The only issue is ants. They kept coming in the kitchen and bathroom.

Stay was good, clean. However, when I booked through Expedia, the price I clicked was $180. I was charged $210 by the resort, despite providing screenshots of the price I agreed to. They also need to get a different brand of instant hot chocolate, as it was terrible.

Very pleased we decided to come to Whitianga. From the time we arrived we have felt genuinely welcomed. Unit is very comfortable. We have a view to Buffalo Beach. Service staff always helpful We even stayed an extra night. We will be back

Was awesome and nice quite place.

Loved this as accommodation for our vacation. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The unit itself contained everything we needed and more for a comfortable stay. Definitely will be coming back on our next stay in Coromandel!

Great room sizes, nice and close within walking distance to the main town, playgrounds, eatery, shopping and most importantly the beautiful beach. Perfect for families! Some ants 🐜 were visiting during our stay however but otherwise a fantastic stay.

Clean room n nice staff

We had a ground floor property with no air conditioning and only two windows that could open. The large window by the road had damaged stays and the securistay was missing . The only way to keep the property cool was to leave the window open however this was too unsafe as it opens onto a busy road . This was the worst nights sleep we have had ever.

The property is well maintained, and the unit itself had everything we needed for a three night stay. The location made it was easy to walk to restaurants or just wander about town.

The rooms were lovely. It was ckose to everything. After a long drive we could park up and walk every where.

Whitianga for a party

Chose the room for the view from the bslcony but didn't end up spending time there. Room was spacious & comfortable & well layed out, but bathroom was dated with cracked floor tile & marked basin. Woken early both mornings by glass bottles being dumped in the central recycling bins under the external stairs below our room.

Side View

The room was on a side road off the main beach road with a side view of the sea. Hence "Beachside Resort". Tv was minimal with only 4 freeview channels but there was you tube etc. The shower didn't work but the lovely lady arranged another room which was fine. No aircon or sky.

Great location!

Excellent Overnight stay. From checkin to check out. Had ground room 1 bedroom apartment which had queen bed and a single bed in the lounge it had everything we needed. The grounds are beautifully kept. Next time we’ll bring the kids. Walking distance to town nice 5 min walk. We booked here to go to the Lost Sorings which was amazing 2 min drive away. The pool is awesome just had the most relaxing stay in the middle of winter! Quiet and peaceful and safe. Beachside resort highly recommended for that quick getaway 🙌

I book a superior full beach view and paid an extra $60 but was given a partial view room. I bought this up with the lady reception but the Staff tried to talk their way out of it. Felt that we were misled by either Expedia or taken advantage of by the motel. This was not how the motel should treat the customers advertising one thing but giving another Honesty goes a long way. The motel itself was well situated and was well maintained with all utensils for a quick easy cooking.

our stay was good. Only downside was hotel staff getting maintenance guy in to look at something in our room after we had checked in. Was a bit disruptive.

Very nice view from our room. Decor is understandably tired but it's evident that progressive renovation is underway. Room facilities are ok with all the required badics for self catering. The shower was a bit random but still useable. Could do with brighter lighting throughout. The bed was a bit harder than i like but bearable. The reception team was really helpful and efficient. The property is only a short walk from town centre...really convenient. Would definitely stay again.

I had paid for the upgraded double room superior with balcony for 4 people, but was given the basic double room. When asked, I was told "that's all we have". The breakfast table had 3 chairs instead of 4, so one of us had to eat standing up. The hotel is well-located near to the beach, playground, convenient for car park and restaurants near by

Great stay would love to come back but in summer it may be too hot with no aircon!

No housekeeping provided. Not made known pre booking. Recycle bins stored outside the room. Heard every noise from upstairs. Room view unlike any photo on the website. All this in a ‘Oceans Superior Room’ at $251 per night. Avoid

Unit needs a revamp at $220 per night the unit was very tired. The fire alarm went off both nights we stayed which was not ideal and a tree shredder started up early morning. Unimpressed with the complex given the high cost per night

The apartment was spacious, quiet and had a balcony with a partial sea view. You could get a nice sea breeze and hear the ocean with the sliding door open. It was only a 2 minute walk to the beach, grocery store, takeaway and cafe. Other eating spots, shops and the ferry were a ten minute walk away. On the downside, there was a horrible musty smell in the apartment and the bed was too hard. The kitchen was adequate but could do with a frying pan and tea towel rail.

Great place to stay

Lovely staff, nice tidy room. The only downside is that there’s no AC unit. For 2 sleeping areas (for a family of 4) there should’ve been 2 fans instead of just 1 especially during the summer. Other than that we really enjoyed the pool in fact we spent the majority of our stay in the pool! Thank you!

The property was dirty, we had to request for it to vacuumed. That set the tone for the one day we ended up staying.

No Air Con and No Fans - HOT!

The resort is getting tired. We were told to bring a fan as the room only has one. We couldn't find any in the local area. The rooms have no ceiling fans or air conditioning and it gets very hot at night. We ended up leaving a day early because we couldn't bare it any longer. Otherwise good location and set up. Definitely not 4 stars anymore.

Very clean and well organised. Excellent staff providing great customer service Not sure it was tucked away but a fan or air conditioning would make it 5* for me especially with the room rate charged and middle of summer. Very hot
