Good choice

A lot of previous reviews mentioned staff being rude, we met 3 staff on different occasions and all were very good and helpful. But I can see how the natural manner of Barcelona people could be interpreted as rude by international visitors. The hotel is well placed by a Metro station and a short walk to the shopping centre. The room was clean and functional like most budget city rooms. My only negative is we had a room at the rear, adjacent is a construction site where work starts at 8am.

very nice stay

Great value for money & great location! It's 5 minute walk from the drop off/pick up of the A1 or A2 bus from/to airport. The shower was modern but the bedroom was very simple. The bed was two small twin beds combined and I woke up with half the mattress hanging off the frame. Since it's very light, the frame/bed slid around a lot. The one thing I really enjoyed from this hotel through is that they had small pre-packed kits: shaver & shaving cream, toothbrush & toothpaste, comb, Kleenex & even a shoe cleaner sponge. The breakfast was great! It has a wide variety of deli meats, cheese, breads, pastries, eggs, bacon, and juices. I would stay here again. Hope they get heavier firmer beds.

Disappointed staff behaviour

The shower pressure was ridiculous impossible to take a bath the hot water pressure was so low, same for the shower I noticed it to the reception guy, and it’s the first time someone behaved like that so rude just for that reason I will never go again in that hotel. On top the windows are not soundproof at all. I did many hotel in the city but this one was the worst one. Specially for the price if the room it’s disappointing.

One night stay

It suited my needs location was good. No lift working and heavy bags to lift. It had a kettle and Tea that’s good. Room looked into corridor that was weird.

The location was very convenient. There were a few stains on the desk and walls from regular wear and tear. My only comment is the key card takes a few tries to unlock the room door.

I stayed here in June 2023. The front desk staff were super nice and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. The AC worked well. The room had a working safe. There was no gym. There was however a cafe and a Metro Station down the street. The room had a mediocre view from the window. The main issue with this hotel was the large waste bins outside near the front entrance of the hotel and the cockroaches that I saw walk by it. Everything else was pretty good.

Convenient location, 24hr front desk.

The location is fantastic - close to metro and bus stops. The staff were lovely especially Marco who works in the dining area and provides 5* service - going above and beyond in his willingness to provide excellent customer service. He even made bacon for my husband one morning when bacon wasn’t on the menu. The staff did a great job keeping the property clean - but there were some messy guests who spilled food in the hallways at night. As for the negatives - the rooms are small and air conditioning wasn’t available even though the temperatures some days warranted it. The walls in the rooms are very thin and inconsiderate guests coming in late banging doors and shouting instead of talking in civilized tones spoiled our stay a bit. Overall though I would sum it up by saying Metro, Marco and local nearby Markets make the hotel value for money!

It was straightforward, simple and clean and friendly staff.

Pro: the hotel is located close to the public transport, shops and bars. Con: there is no fridge in the rooms, I lacked it in August when the temperature was very warm. Although the rooms have air-condition, it is not enough for a cold drink.

The level of room air conditioning was totally unsatisfactory. When the lobby can be maintained at one level, the rooms should be the same level of comfort.

Internet kept falling in and out. Had to keep logging in. Air conditioning in my room was weak - 78° was the lowest it could go in the heat of summer. Breakfast cost extra - 10 euros /day

The AC good barely cool the entire room. It was hard to sleep because the room the AC can't cool the room. There is no napkins in the room.

Breakfast was delicious one of the highlights. Hitel service was friendly and informative. Location is perfect since is in the middle of Plaza España and Plaza Catalunya. Lots of places to eat around. Perfect for staying when you are out all day walking and exploring the city . There is a train stop vlose to the hotel too.

The hotel is in a great location. 15 minutes from Barcelona Sant station and from Plaza Catalunya. Plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is modern but our room was quite compact but very clean with a comfortable bed. The wifi was fine but you had to log in every time you wanted to use it. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice.

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. No AC! Rude staff! The room looks nice but it's not comfortable, especially while you're sweating.. I would definitely consider another hotel unless you are desperate.

I liked the location. Guy downstairs was a little impatient when I asked about the AC not working. He just responded saying “isn’t it cold outside” so I don’t think it was the most friendliest answer. Other than that stay was ok

If you want sleep after 9am, you have no luck in this Hotel, cleaners make sooo much noise! There is nothing in the hotel except the room.

Located in a place were thi gs are easily walkable and close to a main metro line.

Expedia offers this as a 4 star hotel and BCN lists it as 2 Star. The absence of adequate lighting, natural light, makeup mirror, no seating other than the bed and relatively high price exclude this from even a 4 star property.

The room and facility was clean, staff were mostly pleasant unless you asked too many questions re: the computer. The room was quite small.

Very clean, helpful reception staff and good location.

We arrived from a long trip around 11:00 am and we were able to ckeck in but not to receive the room until 3:00 pm. They told us to live the luggage in the reception and come back later. To summarize: very small room, no place to accomodate your personal belongings, shower did not work properly, that is, just a small thread of water came out, no small fridge provided to keep your beverages cool. When we inquired about the fridge they said thay this was a two star hotel and we shouldn't expect to get any additional services. We then ask for ice and told us to go across the street to buy it! On top, the control tv did not work. After trying many times, we finally made it work, but it was the same frustrating procedure all the time. The only positive side is that the room and bathroom were very clean every day. These comments are not intended to criticize but to make hotel management aware of the improvements that are needed to give a better service to their guests.

Nothing unique. I liked the system where you turn the lights on by inserting your room card. Lighting in the room was good. I am always happy when I can comfortably read in bed. Things I didn't like: the shower floor was slippery. The room was a bit cramped.

Amazing stay, clean room the only thing letting the stay down is the air con in the room was awful way too warm !

The AC did not work well at all. I was sweating throughout the night and felt awful bc of it. Also, I would return for a siesta in late afternoon bc of outside heat and my room would not be clean. Therefore, my room was never properly cleaned bc they waited so long (I was retiring around 3-4).

Wonderful hotel. It’s definitely closer to 3 stars rather than 2 stars. The staff was friendly and helpful the whole way through our stay. The hotel itself is centrally located so it’s easy to walk or grab a quick cab. Make sure to add breakfast as it too was awesome.

I complained several times about the air conditioning and they told me at the front desk that that was as cold as the a/c could run. Sweating all night long!

Not recommended

We were unfortunately allocated to a room facing the rear, no light and quite depressing; the staff were not being helpful either. We asked for toiletries amenities as they were used up and were not refilled after daily housekeeping but the staff at the reception desk simply said that the toiletries were “just a welcome pack and won’t be given”. The location of the hotel was however quite good, very close to metro.

Rooms are really tiny and the front desk did not told us about the change in accommodation and bedding arrangements during check in. Other than that the hotel is decent, clean and staff is courteous.

The property was clean and near the tourist areas of Barcelona. It had everything you would require for a holiday.

The day time service desk staff were miserable unhappy people that didn’t even great us with hello. Just scowls and unhappy faces. Then when I got the bill it was 100 euro more than expected or quoted. They charged more for weekends. It was an unpleasant shock at the end of our stay. Never again!

I stayed in this hotel for three nights and I was very impressed with the hotel and its staff. The hotel building looks old; however, everything is renovated and quite new inside. You need to use your room card to access the building so it is quite safe. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was very clean except some parts of the bathroom floor which didn't bother me much. Breakfast was excellent and breakfast area was very clean. The hotel location is pretty good, you can pretty much walk everywhere. It is in a safe neighborhood. Metro entrance is 1 block away and the airport bus stops are 2 blocks away. Many grocery stores and places to eat in walking distance. Overall I enjoyed staying at this hotel a lot, it definitely exceeded my expectations.

The rooms are clean and tidy. A double room use for triple occupancy is a bit small and space are on the right side for 3 persons and their luggages. A safety grab bar is recommended for ease of get in and out of the bathtub. The location of the hotel is good and is close to Urgell Metro station.

We liked the hotel. The room was perfect and so was the bathroom. Spacious and clean. We were not too crazy about the fact that the only window in the room opened up all the way to a terrace where other rooms have access to. Walls in the room are super thin. You can hear everything that’s going on. Breakfast was good. And the hotel always smelled clean. Close to the train station, cafes and restaurants.

Luci took very good care of us. This place is so convenient to everywhere. The room was comfortable, the bathroom very clean and modern, the breakfast is a great deal, and the neighborhood was very safe

Great hotel for the price

The hotel is great, the location is great. Sometimes the room is not well cleaned, but all the rest with the service is great. Staff at the register is very helpful.

The location is just a few meters from the subway. Room was big and clean. The only drawback is having to use the coin locker when leaving the luggage during the check-out.

Good location. Very near metro & bus stops. Airport Aerobus stops nearby too. Room just right size, very clean & nice. Many restaurants nearby, supermarket just next door.

Quiet, clean and close enough to the popular spots

The hotel is about a 15 min walk from all the main sites. Metro at the bottom of the block, 3 min walk! Excellently situated and away from hustle and bustle and noise meaning you could sleep at night. Rooms and public areas are clean and well maintained. Staff are friendly and really helpful. Air con in room is fab and room had hairdryer and a safe. Iron was available if needed. Towels and linen changed requently. Great wee hotel!

This hotel was excellent. My room was extremely spacious and clean. They added a little touch with candy on the pillows and I appreciated it. The staff was excellent and friendly. After hours, I wanted to warm up some food and the assistant was so kind to warm up my food. Great location - near the metro and lots of places to eat. Would definitely go back!

Good basic hotel, centrally placed

Staff were generally helpful. Breakfast is pretty basic but does the job. Tv in the room was temperamental and kept freezing. A couple of things that disapointed was that they ran out of coffee for the rooms and only had decaf, and they also charge €2 euros to leave your bags in a locker when you check out, which I found a little odd. Overall though a decent stay for what we needed which was a central base for our trip.

The location was excellent. Everything was within 1-2 miles and easy to walk. My room was not facing the street so there was no noise at night. The room was small but no different than pictured on the website. I spent 5 nights and really enjoyed it.

Not Happy

Location is decent. Hotel is clean. The Air conditining is really bad. We were sweating all night long. The breakfast is not worth it. Do not pay for breakfast and do not stay here in summer. Rest is good.

Good hotel

Great location. Most of the stuf was nice and friendly, but one of them was not very polite. I would come back to this place again.

I was not impressed by this place.

Most of the staff was rude, I booked with breakfast included and was told that wasn't true and still had to pay, and they deactivated my card the day before I checked out in the morning so I couldn't get back into the building. Will not be coming back here ever again.

No sleep from early morning

We selected this hotel, because we received news from other one that there were no double beds left, however we came here knowing that is double bed( when we booked we selected this option and put comment), and only at the reception we were ware that they run out of double bed rooms.... However beds were together at least... next thing, that was only very annoying thing during holidays, that from the early morning ( around 8 o'clock) workers started to fix rooms or something inside hotel same hall I guess, was not possible to sleep and had me and my partner hadache half a day.. Could not understand who is drills walls and so on in the morning ? If it is nessecary to do, start it around lunch time, when you sure no one is asleep. Really annoying. Other than that was ok for the little price, nothing special.

Nicely located, but rooms facing the street are very noisy. Someone was smoking in the hallway one night which was little annoying. Service is okay not wow.

It was really terrible and stressful the staff were very rude and the room service walks in on your room after one knock and when it’s time for check out they terrorize you by knocking on the door about to break down the door as if it’s a bomb squad team on the door I wouldn’t recommend to anyone

disappointing

5-10 mins walk to train station. Not much attraction nearby will need to take a train or taxi. Basic hotel, very basic. Would have chose a AirBnB instead for the price. Water kettle had a weird smell, its like they used the toilet detergent to wash the kettle?! Requested a change but had to wait till the next morning and the kettel smelt the same. Also, requested for air dryer replacement as the one in the room was not working but was told to go to the reception to change it. Not all hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Requested hot water as the kettle was not working but was told to get from the water dispenser. Worse is, one of the dispenser only dispense cold water.

Perfect for a city break

For a 3 night stay, we really only needed somewhere clean to sleep and shower. The location was brilliant for the Aerobus, the metro (Urgell) and close enough to be able to walk everywhere. The staff were lovely. The rooms were small and functional, with a great shower and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel and the rooms were very clean and fresh. We had interior rooms and, having stayed in a few hotels in Barcelona, this was a lot quieter. For a 2* and the price, it really was a brilliant find.
