The host, Raymond is very friendly. He came to meet us at the Square and explained in details on every houseware.

Great spot but air conditioning wasn’t working

Our hosts couldn’t have been nicer. They allowed us to drop off our luggage before check in. They asked us if ee wanted water or coffee and cake even though we hadn’t actually checked in. They provided us with a map and advice about local beaches and places to eat. Its a beautiful building in a quiet street with a modern and comfortable large room and en suite bathroom. It was spotlessly clean and the air conditioning worked really well. The two windows and balcony made the room light filled but the wooden shutters when closed ensured a good nights sleep. There was even hand embroidered curtains . The bed was comfortable with good quality linen. Breakfast was good value for money and tasty. The homemade cake was incredible.

Fall vacation

We had a fabulous time in Siracuse. Our stay was most pleasant, the owners want nothing less than showing you a pleasant stay in their beautiful and comfortable home.

The people were beyond nice and cordial. The place was clean...close to everything and comfortable

Great stay in Siracusa

B&B Vergilia was a great stay. We were there only one night but felt most welcomed. We arrived in the late afternoon and got settled in to our comfortable and fairly large room. Nice, updated bathrooms as well. We walked down to the old town area just across the bridges and found a great place for dinner. It was about a 20 minute walk and mostly through family neighborhoods. After dinner we strolled back ‘home’ through very quiet streets. We discovered the bus lines the next day and they are very convenient to the B&B. Great nights sleep and a yummy breakfast. Our hosts whipped up eggs and bacon for us besides the traditional sweets. We packed our bags and left them in the reception area when we went out for the day as we didn’t want to leave them in the hot car. Just a 10 minute walk to the Greek ruins. From there we caught a city bus down to the island for a day of sightseeing. Took the bus back to the B&B in the afternoon to head back to Catania. Very welcoming and comfortable B&B!

Very well located and recently renovated properti e

We had a lovely stay at this comfortable, totally renovated B&B. It is clean and modern. The location is ideal, very close to Ortega and many other historic sites. Parking is right in front. They provide a good healthy breakfast. Best of all, the staff is so friendly and accommodating. Carmelo and Maria do all they can to make their guests feel at home. We hope to go back someday!

In addition to the extremely nice and helpful owners/managers, the B&B is in an ideal location for exploring Syracuse.

location is great, approx. 15-20 min. walk to old City Ortigia. The Greek Theater can be reached on foot in less then 15 min. With Interbus service (bus stop approx. 5 min. walk from B&B) we went to Noto. The Interbus Station from Siracusa to Catania Airport is very near the B&B, can be reached in less than 5 min. on foot. B&B Vergilia has a warm family atmosphare. Sister and brother who run the B&B are very nice people. We enjoyed our stay very much and recommend this place very warmly. Without hesitation we will chose to stay here again the next time when we come to Siracusa.

A great B&B in Siracuse!!

From the moment Carmelo opened the door to us we knew we were going to feel relaxed and happy with our choice of B&B for our 2 nights stay in Siracuse, and we were not proved wrong. A welcome coffee, shown to our impeccably spotless room with all the comforts needed. Carmelo, his sister, Anna and Mum, Maria were all so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We were advised about sights to visit & the restaurant suggestions were excellent - the menus interesting & delicious! The breakfasts were relaxed & 'self-service whilst offers of something made to order were also easily available. It was good to be reassured that there was always one or more member of the family on site to be there to answer any questions. All in all we were more than delighted with the hospitality, the standard of our room & bathroom and have no hesitation to recommend Vergilia to our family & friends. It's situation not far from Catania airport is also a big plus! Thank you, Maria, Anna & Carmelo!

The most genuine experience

As Americans, we learn from an early age adages like, “if it’s too good to be true, it is”, and to beware of others. Two days at Vergilia and my mind’s been rewired to believe in the genuine spirit of humanity again. Our hosts graciously opened their home and hearts to us. From giving us a great overview of their favorite places in the city, to making sure that we didn’t need one last cappuccino to start our day, to helping us search for items at local shops, we were comfortable and felt supported every bit of our short time in Siracusa. Come for the beautiful city, and stay for the wonderful conversation, amazing people, and freshly-squeezed orange juice that’s unlike anything you’ve had back home. “Vergilia” is a reminder that life is about the journey.

A lovely place to stay and friendly owners

When we arrived the owners helped us to get a good sense of Syracuse. Our room was very clean and spacious - a lot of time and effort was put into refurbishing the rooms! We were also given a choice of what we wanted for breakfast! I highly recommend staying here! It is also very close to the museum and the archaeological ruins.

Très bon B&B, totalement rénové avec des matériaux de qualité. Les gérants et l'accueil sont super ! Parking gratuit dans la rue. Ortigia à 15 min à pieds. Attention il n'y a rien dans le quartier. Merci aux propriétaires !

Rent och fräscht B&B med hjälpsam personal

Rent och fint med eget badrum och bra sängar. Trevliga ägare som var väldigt hjälpsamma. De hjälpte till med att kontakta biluthyrningsfirmor och tog reda på priser m.m. Arkeologiska museet ligger inom 5 minuters promenad och Grekiska teatern på 10 minuters avstånd. Restauranger hittas ca 15 minuter bort.

Die Besitzer sind sehr nett, das Zimmer war groß und sauber, Bett sehr bequem. Das Bad klein aber fein. Die Lage ist strategisch gut, man kann direkt vor der Unterkunft parken und dann ist alles zu Fuß zu erreichen.

Die Besitzer wohnen selbst im Haus, so das eigentlich immer ein Ansprechpartner erreichbar ist. Die Lage in einer eher ruhigen Strasse mit Parkmöglichkeiten war eine Wohltat zum sonst sehr hektischen Verkehr in Syrakus. Es ist auch ein prima Ausgangspunkt, um zu Fuß die Altstadt auf Ortygia, den Parco Archeologico della Neapoli oder die Kirche Madonnina delle Lacrime zu erkunden. Das Zimmer war schlicht eingerichtet, ein schwedisches Möbelhaus ließ grüßen, aber es war sauber und alles funktionfähig. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder buchen.

Ottima sistemazione,la gestione viene esercitata da Maria e Carmelo con aiuto della mamma ,persone gentili serie e disponibili ad ogni esigenza di chi soggiorna nella loro casa. Nice visit in Syracuse

Vergilia was a very pleasant surprise. Nice spcious room and bathroom. Everything in excellent condition. Hosts Maria and Carmelo were nice and helpful. They gave us lots of good advice about where and how to see Syracuse. Practically everything in the city is in a walking distance from the B&B. Very pleasant stay in Syracuse.

Professionalità e cortesia

Dopo un’accoglienza che più calorosa non ci si potrebbe aspettare, durante tutta la nostra permanenza abbiamo gradito la cortesia e la professionalità dei proprietari. Mamma Maria e i suoi figli non avrebbero potuto fare di meglio per rendere il nostro soggiorno a Siracusa e dintorni un’esperienza di cui serberemo sempre il ricordo. Ci hanno dato preziosi consigli su luoghi da visitare, ristoranti, ecc. ed erano sempre disponibile a scambiare con noi quattro chiacchiere. La posizione del B&B è molto strategica in quanto si possono raggiungere facilmente a piedi i principali luoghi di interesse turistico di Siracusa mentre, se ci si vuole spostare fuori città, si esce facilmente con la macchina per le vie principali. Consigliatissimo!

Nous sommes enchantés de notre séjour et le recommandons vivement. Très belle chambre refaite à neuf, ainsi que la salle de bain. Propriétaires adorables et accueillants nous ayant donné des conseils sur les visites, les meilleurs endroits où se restaurer ... Bon petit déjeuner servi par la propriétaire dans la belle pièce commune.

Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt in Syrakus. Das Zimmer war groß sauber und modern eingerichtet, genauso wie das Bad. Die Gastgeber waren super hilfsbereit und jederzeit erreichbar. Ich würde hier jederzeit wieder herkommen. Die Altstadt erreicht man zu Fuß in ca. 15-20 Minuten. Parken kann man kostenlos in der Seitenstraße.

Sehr familiäres Bed & Breakfast in Siracusa mit perfektem wohlfühl Charakter. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß erreichbar und direkt vor der Unterkunft gibt es kostenfreie Parkplätze. Ausstattung und Frühstück sind sehr gut. Die Insider Tipps der Eigentümer sind sehr hilfreich. Jederzeit gerne wieder.

Persone squisite, che si vede subito ci tengono molto a far bene il proprio lavoro. Camere nuove e pulitissime. Zona tranquilla ma comoda per raggiungere i principali posti di interesse in citta.

B&b pulito e molto confortevole. Le stanze sono belle e isolate acusticamente. I proprietari disponibili e molto socievoli. Consigliato. Mi dispiace per la città, l'ho trovata sporca e l'igiene lasciava a desiderare.

An excellent place to stay

A delightful, family-run B&B. The room was large, very clean and quiet. Wi-fi connectivity was among the best we found during our trip. Parking, at no cost, was available on the street outside. The archaeological park and museum are 5 to 10 minutes walk away. The old town is an easy stroll. The family take their role seriously as hosts and are anxious that you should have a most comfortable stay and the best use of your time. I would strongly recommend this property,
