Paradise lost
This is an amazing location with wonderful views - unfortunately the weather was overcast and cool for summer so no stars at night. The rooms are good and maximise the views. Ok its not really five star but good given the location. I do have to comment on the food. A few tweaks could have made a big difference. The beef was beautiful produce but sadly overcooked. and I would not call a bowl of cold brocollini and sum raw baby spinach with a simple dressing a course. its an accompaniment. And some seasoning, lemon or lime and chilli would have gone a long way to lifting my breakfast huevos rancheros to a decent level. I had to do that myself
We spent a long weekend here and it was breathtaking! The service is outstanding and the food was great. I highly recommend the BOMC for a romantic getaway!
Great views, secluded 5 star retreat
A beautiful place- should be a secret!!
Delightful spot for a spell of “down” time. From the greeting at the dock to the farewells the staff were engaging and very friendly. Clean and very comfortable accommodation.Food delicious if slow service at times. Gin and wine advice from 18 yr old gap year students was amusing!Boating on the water, swimming and walking provided exercise and the dolphins, seals, stingrays and birds also greeted us!! The lookout walk was our greatest challenge- very steep but views over 360 degrees were stunning. Water taxi transfer across the Sound was also spectacular. Thank you
As soon as you arrive at BOMC you are greeted by a staff member and shown around. Our room was absolutely stunning, amazing views, comfy bed and pillows. Once we heard of the Peanut Slab challenge of course we can to do it. I loved the pool and hot tub. The staff were all friendly and the turn down service is definitely the best I’ve come across. Loved there was a free laundry service. The ONLY thing that we thought let it down was the food. Our meals were very average not what you would expect at a 5 star lodge.
Not sure about 5 star
Unique location accessible only by water taxi so getting charged an extra $200 for the privilege of getting to and from the hotel mildly amusing or if you’re remotely budget constrained a bit of a cheek. However service at the bight cafe venue was truly dreadful for a purportedly 5 star hotel. Being told to get your own sauce from the bottle rack wasn’t great (waitress could just as easily have brought it over rather than pointing to their location in a pretty aggressive manner) but the ‘manager’ of the day (English and red headed) seemed so much more interested in serving 2 young ladies their second bottle of champagne than a couple of hotel residents it felt plain rude. Check out was a farce with the duty manager attempting to charge for dinner and breakfast meals when we had booked half board And then telling us we didn’t understand before finally (bit of an argument ensued) taking the additional charges off the bill. If you do go there make sure the hotel includes dinner bed and breakfast (you are a captive audience so may as well)
We'll be back!
Amazing and unique location on the north end of the south island or NZ. Fabulous welcoming, wonderful apartment with amazing views. Great food. Great Service.
Paradise
We had the most wonderful 3 days away in paradise - the staff were fantastic and friendly and went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. The food is exceptional with a highly skilled team of chefs who were happy to catering to individual dietary requirements. And thanks to Natalie and Elaine for their help to make our special day so wonderful too!
Hot tub didn't work and food was quite expensive otherwise great
Beautiful quiet resort, highly recommended!
I had a wonderful stay at the resort. It is beautiful and remote, gorgeous views from the guest rooms, and the owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. A great place for a peaceful getaway!
Great hotel
Great hotel, loved our stay.
Lovely overnight stay
We had a one night stay in November. The resort has a spectacular view. The service is amazing and the staff are all very friendly. They had wine tasting the night we were there which was thoroughly enjoyable. Actually - it was more than just tasting. The servings were very generous and the tasting was accompanied by lovely 'nibbles'. The only negative is that our evening meal was not up to standard. We had pork and it was very dry. Our family who stayed longer than us said that the rest of their meals had been lovely so we may have just been unlucky that night. The lunch and breakfast meals were both very good.
Facilities: Outstanding; Value: Fantastic; Service: Go the extra mile, Outstanding; Cleanliness: Immaculate;
Lovely luxury escape close to Wellington
We've been before and will go again. Great spot with just enough of everything to do or not do. The staff are lovely and low key, the food is great, rooms are comfy and clean and the location is second to none.
Restful Getaway
It was our last stop after a 8 day vacation, and it was perfect. Beautiful, serene, and romantic. We ordered room service so we could enjoy the cool room, beautiful view, and keep the romantic setting going!
Luxurious accomodation. Expensive but overall an excellent overnight stay
My best hotel stay ever ...
Absolutely incredible! The Bay of Many Coves is extremely special in every way - from the beautiful property to the exquisite food to the limitless activities to the thoughtful and compassionate attention from each and every member of the staff. Nick, Pip and their entire team enhanced our stay beyond what I ever could have imagined. I will never forget them and plan to return to The Bay of Many Coves in the future. A truly life-changing experience in paradise!

This is no Four Seasons, but it is priced like one
In no way this is a 5 star resort. Completely overpriced for the level of services provided. Staff members were all polite but definitely not well trained and transactional, food very mediocre. Spectacular location. This resort is priced at the level of an Aman or Mandarin Oriental-type property and it is very far away from that. Very disappointing for the price we paid.
