The rooms were great but not incredible. It's essentially a normal hotel room but instead of drywall walls it's tent walls. There's an indoor and outdoor shower but nothing fancy or luxurious about it. Nice but not lux. The staff were all great and particularly the chef made the best food. That was truly surprising if nothing more than the logistics of cooking great food out there. All of the soups were soooo good. Major downside is given the layout of the rooms spread so far apart there's no wifi in the rooms and the camp is off the grid meaning generator power so even if you're in the main area between meals you won't have wifi because the generator doesn't run in those times.
Perfect safari stay
We had the most amazing safari. What a perfect location and the staff were so attentive. The Masai guides were the best!

STAY FAR AWAY. My stay at the Basecamp properties was a nightmare. My guide had no idea about wildlife, didn't bring water on a 5 hour drive, & took my camera without permission & started taking photos of me. I requested to switch guides & to be in a car with other guests. For 1 day, I was with other guests, but then was put back in a car alone. The translator for the guide repeatedly asked me if I watched porn, if he could come to my room, asked me if hyena sex turned me on, etc. I told management & they continued to send me out with the same person. I finally had a breakdown with a female manager & she removed him. But it was a horrific experience. I was the only guest at Leopard Hill, so felt completely unsafe. I asked the manager to cancel my stay & change my flight & they said that it was non-refundable & I would have to book a new flight. These camps are completely isolated, so I felt completely trapped. I also got eaten alive by mosquitos in the Leopard Hill room (~$1,000/ night). I asked for a mosquito net the next night & they said that they didn't have one. After much insistence they brought one that had holes & didn't fit. Do not travel to the Basecamp properties. They also tried to charge me $250 for a Covid test, which was $120 at my previous camp & that company said they would gladly come test me for $120. I paid 1/5 of the price to stay at another camp the week prior, which was amazing & had the best guides. Basecamp was the worst lodging experience.
