Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and spacious.

Very rowdy other guests, smoking into our room, parties all night until 3am, rather rough and intimidating

The room was very small, nothing like the photos on the website Bed was very uncomfortable

Nice clean and convenient room. Single pillows on beds made sleeping comfortable impossible. Shower had fantastic pressure. I was unaware of the need to have a $200 bond. This would have been easier if I had a credit card. Apart from this it was a pleasant stay.

I like the location and the room. I found the room was overpriced for the stay. I expect the rate reflected the long weekend and the Rugby Sevens that was up the road. Internet was weak.

Good location for Waikato Stadium

Motel clean and efficient staff. Somewhat jaded rooms....needs a refresh.

I enjoyed staying here, great location, lovely spacious room, love the little court yard, loved the set out of everything, I will definitely stay again.

One of many motels on a busy street. Not as noisy as first thought. Room was big, very clean but furniture getting a little dated.Check in and check out was easy.

Value for money

Rooms were comfortable but there were cobwebs above kitchen bench and bed was not in a practical place.

It took about 30 minutes of arguing that I had booked via Wotif and had paid on booking. The receptionist had not heard about Wotif and said I will have to pay because I should have booked through Expedia. I suggested she get it sorted with her equally screechy manager- who she rang three times during the discussion. I remained quiet as I started to think it was not worth the hassle at the end of the day- but too tired to go off as hunt down a motel at 6 pm on the hottest night in Hamilton. Finally sorted when she found that my credit card had paid for the room earlier in the day - so sorry. The room, a good size, very dated but adequate was ok till I take the bed cover down and see the stains in the underside. Any way, I survived the 80’s nightmare and will not stay there again

Nice and clean but old. Deck and bathroom floor (around spa bath!) seemed in need of repair.

Disappointing experience

We chose this motel for the pool and spa facilities, but the spa pool was out of order. The air con didn’t work well which meant the room was very stuffy. Opening the windows meant really loud traffic noise as we were right beside the rd. There was mould in the shower and on the net curtains in the main room. I would have expected more from 4 and half star motel.

Good location for Waikato Stadium

We had a small studio, dated and old but clean. It has everything you need. Towels looked like they needed to be replaced. The best thing about this place is how close it is to Waikato stadium which is a 10min walk away. Parking was right outside the room.

on arrival the receptionist was very pleasant and quick to check us in. the suite was a great size and provided alot of space for us, also very clean. upon leaving, the check out was also very quick. great stay!

Good motel

Good motel with good services. Bed was rather hard so uncomfortable sleep for the whole week. Good and clean facilities Car parking a little difficult due to having a biggest vehicle (ute) so was hard to get in and out some days

Great location

Didn't end up staying there! The first room we were offered smelled of stale tobacco smoke and the heat pump didn't work. The second room smelled alright but the heat pump didn't work and the rubbish bin hadn't been emptied. The refrigerator was VERY noisy, so much so that if we had used that room we would have had to switch it off to be able to sleep. The third room was okay and the refrigerator was silent, because it didn't work despite the receptionist pulling it out from it's alcove and checking the plug, wiring etc. Each unit had an "out of order" sign on the spa pools despite the sign at the roadside which boasted private spas in each unit. All three were an eyesore with broken covers etc. I am happy to pay $200 a night for a good motel but this one in no stretch of imagination rates the four star it is supposed to be. In my opinion it would struggle to achieve two stars! We left and stayed at a very pleasant, clean motel which, incidentally was $50 a night cheaper. Certainly would not recommend this hotel.

Good for a stopover

Very clean room, pleasant staff, lots of tv channels to watch and kitchen well stocked with utensils/appliances. Found a room service breakfast menu in room but not told about this on check-in so not sure if it's available. Some bedside tables would be very handy addition also!

My family were really happy with our Family Suite which included a spa bath. Friendly staff and happy with facilities and great location. Highly recommend for families.

the staff kept reception open later because we had rung to say we would be much later than expected, so they waited for us. Very helpful too

The room smelled of old cigarette smoke and it was in a not very nice section of town.

Everything you could need

An older style motel, but very clean and well equiped. The host was very friendly and welcoming. Great easy location. Comfortable beds, fantastic shower and air conditioning along with free wifi. Great experience. Would absolutely stay again and would look at hotels/motels within the Barclay brand after this experience.

Run down and dated

Booked in for 6 people and only 5 beds made! Run down room and even had a mattress protector as a duvet??

Short overnight stay

Room was the closest to the main road. Arrived about 5pm; traffic was heavy and very noisy. The noise dropped about 9pmish. Rooms were super clean and presentable. Staff on duty were pleasant and helpful. Good price for the value of the room offered. It included a spa pool.

Well located to Hamilton central

Very enjoyable 2 night stay. Accomodating staff who were very keen to help!
