Rooms were cozy but need a deep deep cleaning !! Staff was friendly but not overly helpful. Hot pool was nice but cleanliness is neglected!! Cute and cozy
Shockingly quiet hvac and fridge. Usually I turnthem off but they were actually quiet!
Sauna/hot pool was full of kids
Great as always.
Loved the hot tub and real fireplace in the lobby
Great accommodation and location in Banff. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Room upgrade was worth it.
Had and a wonderful stay
What a great location to stay in Banff!!! Had the most wonderful family trip, nearby everything and free underground parking!
We enjoyed our stay very much. Room was clean and quiet. I really enjoyed having my morning coffee by the fireplace in the main lobby. They definitely could use a little coffee shop and other dining options.
The staff were amazing both in the hotel and the restaurant.
Very good
room had no heat for 2 night so the hotel provided a small heater that when plugged in would trip the breaker resulting in no power in the intire room had to go down stairs 3 times. to get the problem fixed, No Wifi for the last night and couldn’t finish important office work that i needed to complete.
I really enjoyed the service, staff had amazing tip and advice on where to go and what to do around Banff! Would definitely return
The Hotel is older but nicely renovated. The staff were nice and very helpful. Free parking was a bonus!
Amazing staff
Great hotel within walking distance of everything. I would have liked the gym to have more options.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I liked the wood burning fireplace in lobby. The rooms and property were clean and comfortable, however it is a little dated and in need of some updating. I still believe it is good value for the price.
Really loved the hot tub area.
Parking spots were extremely limited and was extremely difficult with a half ton truck. The hot tub had so much chemical in it, it made my eyes burn and skin itch.
We enjoyed our stay. Good location, cozy and fair prices.
Thx
It was nice and clean. Waitress at the keg was amazing and very friendly. andJust staff don’t explain about free wifi or amenities on property or tell us anything going on into.
Nice impromptu stay!
Our destination was in BC but the roads were bad the further we got so we made a stop here for the night. Everything was as it should be, nice hotel. We enjoyed a lovely dinner at the Keg downstairs and a relaxing swim in the hot tub.
Wonderful hotel. Friendly staff.
It was ok
Hotel was decent looking, our room was clean, on the smaler side but ok. Staff were nice. The chlorine in the pool seemed extra strong. The fumes burned our eyes and stuck in our throats, we could not stay longer then 10 minutes. The pool was also so foamy it just didnt look right. Staff informed us that the pool was at the right chemical levels but i have never been in a pool that burnt my eyes and throat before.
Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, Loved the wooden fireplace, The only complaint is despite me requesting an upgrade( eligible as an Expedia Gold member), our room wasn’t upgraded and they said they are sold out of upgraded rooms
Not so clean
Ok but not wow. The toilet was not centered and made it hard to sit. Very small height for the toilet. We were squeezed and our arm was in the way of the toilet paper holder. There was hairs in the bed sheets, wich is discusting for my point of vue. We could see a brown residue in the toilet bowl. Beds were confortables. For 4 people, it was a small room.
Smooth check - in … offered two complementary breakfasts
Pet friendly first rate accommodation
We’ve stayed here a few times. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The restaurant is first class.
Have stayed many times and enjoyed our stay again. Disappointed by the fitness area which needs to be updated (equipment doesn't work) . Prices are getting a bit steep. Spa was top notch. We'll be back.
Well, the shower didnt drain properly, the toilet recycled every 1/2 hour, two metalic noises loudly sounded when it was windy. They moved me to a different room finally but the fireplace didn't work And it was supposed to be newly remodeled but they did a poor job. I would not go back here, it was not worth the money plus they would not give me a discount due to the aggravation suffered during the stay.
We were upgraded to a superior room. Not sure what was superior about it. Lots of wear and little maintenance issues.

No robes in room. Trying calling down numerous times no answer. Rooms to utilities left open. Staff not helpful or friendly when trying to get to our room. Acted as if we were a bother. Would be great if the bathrooms had a fan and maybe a makeup light. Toilet seat is so close to counter - super weird.
Excellent location and services, lots of dining options available around this hotel and the Keg in the Lobby area. the only negative, is the property is dated and in need of a refresh. The furniture and condition of the property is a bit worn out. However, I believe this is the case with most of Banff hotels as there is a vary high turnaround of traffic through this beautiful area.
The room is quite nice! Beds are comfortable but the pillows are too thick. The decor is very nice but the designer of the bathroom didn’t do their job very well. The toilet is too close to the shelves and is not to building code standards. The sink depth is too deep and doesn’t hold water. The noise from the hallway pressurization shaft that is directly across from Room 464 is too loud. Mechanical consultant needs to adjust it to reduce the noise. Love the heated parkade.
Rooms are cold unless there is a portable heater in sink and bathtub very slow to drain
Only stayed for one night and we had a great stay. It was quiet, convenient, and pleasant place to stay.
Took the girlfriend to the Caribou Inn because of the underground parking the spa.
Clean and efficient
Told us that we could check in early. Arrived and we weren’t able to check in early. Then we checked into the smallest room that the heat wasn’t working so was so warm. In the morning 2 staff walked into our rooms without knocking 2 different times. Very very unimpressed with the service and the experience. Will never stay again.
Great stay everything was close by and clean
Love that the Keg is in the building. The rooms could use some touch ups
Loud, hotpool over run with drunk people and kids running around.
Very nice, clean and convenient
I loved our stay. Would recommend this hotel
For the most part everything was great. The one downside was that there were children’s hockey teams staying there and they were allowed to run wild and scream non stop in the lobby and hallways. Not necessarily the hotel’s fault (more like the parents) but it would have been nice if they had a room to go to in order to have their pizza party instead of taking over the lobby/entrance to the restaurant.
We booked this hotel for a family Christmas and New Year ski vacation. We booked the Hotel and flights (from the UK) together on Expedia and was happy with the package and price. Our room was on the 3rd floor overlooking the front of the hotel. There was no issue with road or other noise, either from inside or outside of the hotel. The balcony was nice, and the view out onto the portico and front of the hotel, decorated for the holidays was lovely. Nicely done Caribou team! Some of the reviews list the rooms as "tired" and I guess the carpets are showing a bit of age and the TV stand is certainly a bit "retro". But apart from that the room was warm, beds comfortable and always clean and niceely serviced. The hotel is about a 10-mimute walk from the main shopping area and all the hotels on the main drag have resturants attached, so there is lots of choice. Carobou has a "Keg" steakhouse, which offers really good quality food (if a little pricey) if you are on a budget). One minor point: You can't sit in the inviting hotel lounge with a drink from the Keg bar because of a licensing issue. For me, that's a bit of an obvios "miss" that needs addressing. For Winter Sports, this hotel is an excellent choice. There is carparking under the hotel, and lockers for skis/boards, etc (the hotel will provide a padlock). The ski bus to/from Sunshine and Like Louise stops right outside hotel - so absolutely ideal. All staff super!
Dated, but just fine for a stay
Fireplace in main lobby was nice. Rooms are a bit narrow and cramped.
We loved everything about the caribou lodge. We especially loved the fact that we didn’t have to leave the hotel for dinner. Having the keg right down stairs was amazing.
2 stars standards
Great stay
We like the convenience of The Keg rooms service and the beds were very comfortable
Got upgraded but went from 2 queens to two doubles. Don’t seem like an upgrade.
We had a great time. Thank you
Decent hotel for the price hot pool pretty dirty and the shower in our room didn’t drain
Bathroom: toilets didn’t flush properly and sink was clogged. Room wasn’t as clean as other places
It was a basic hotel, could use some renovations. Our room was by the pool and all I could smell was chlorine. My eyes were burning in my room. They were completely full for the first night so we couldn’t change rooms. By the next day at 4 we didn’t see the need to change. It was kinda noisy being by the spa and pool. We had a lot of nocks on our door at all hours of day/night. We had a staff member walk right into our room, awkward!! I didn’t even have time to get up to get the door. The keg was great and the staff at the checkin were very friendly. We never used the hot tub because of the foam that was on top…gross. I would stay again if the price wasn’t so high, didn’t feel like it met our standards for what we got.
I was very excited to stay at this hotel for the first time but upon arrival, the man working at front desk was very cold and he seemed annoyed that I came into the building and interrupted his conversation with a coworker (I waited until they were done talking to finish walking up to the counter) He did not greet me kindly and he talked so fast and had a thick accent so it was nearly impossible to understand. Not one smile came across his face, which made me feel uncomfortable Hotel itself was nice. Hot tub was clean and relaxing. The pillows were horrendous and lumpy and we found random cat treats in the corner of the room which was kind of gross. The keg was delicious and the staff were super kind there. The next day we had to ask the front desk a question and this gentleman was incredibly kind and helpful. Wish he was working when we arrived. First impressions are everything.
Great hotel
The corner suite was amazing!
Clean, convenient, quiet and hot pool is great
Another enjoyable stay!
Loved the Keg
Great
Clean and staff is friendly.
Great hot tub and sauna. Staff was friendly. Room was clean and quiet.
We liked the beds, the parking was plentiful and secure. Location is ok, a bit far from things but we knew that before we came as we've been here before. Rooms are a bit dated. Housekeeping was a 5/10, they made the beds and replaced towels but they didn't vaccuum or replace sugar and coffee supplies. The fridge in the room froze our drinks solid and I was surprised to discover there was no microwave. The absolute worst thing was the wood fire smell from the lobby fireplace that permeated the entire building and was so strong in our room it triggered a migraine our first night in Banff. We had to leave a window open and a fan going 24/7 to try and air out the room but it didn't help. If ruined our stay. It burned our noses and stung our eyes. I told the front desk about it twice and was told to open the window and if that didn't help to call back and they wouldn't put anymore wood on the fire, I did that, but it didn't help and they just started the fire back up shortly after it went out. I even emailed the hotel to see if I'd get a more compassionate response but they just said they'd send in an inquiry and to let them know if we needed help with future reservations. I'm very disappointed in the lack of care from staff. The hotel needs to fix the ventilation or stop using the fireplace.
We love this hotel, our third stay there. The wood fire they have in the lobby creates a lovely smell throughout the hallways and lobby. The hot pool is excellent after a long day. I found the parkade a bit tight for my truck, but overall a great option that won’t break the bank.
I really liked the size of the hot pool. I didn't like that the sink in the bathroom drained very slow. It needed a good dose of Drano and/or a plunge to get it draining properly .
Perfect for a short weekend getaway!
Beds are poor
The room and amenities were very good for a reasonable price

If I could attach the pictures I took of the room I was in, it would definitely support our low rating of the condition of the room . When I brought it to the managers attention , her reply was “if you wanted modern amenities, this is not the hotel for you”…..WOW..!!!! I replied that I’m not looking for “modern” , I’m looking for a clean and well maintained room , which this hotel offers neither. This does not even touch on the sub par breakfast buffet that was offered. My recommendation would be to choose another hotel.
Hot tub was excellent. Complimentary coffee/tea in the AM was so clutch!!! Awesome to have a quick cup before hitting the slopes. Thanks!
The property is good
The location is very convenient. It’s near downtown area. There’s a lot of dining options around and public transportation is just in front of the property. The walls are too thin though that you can hear everything. Some maintenance can be done in the rooms, too ie, squeaky door in the washroom that hardly closes and broken shower head. We were just there for a short time so we didn’t bother asking for another room instead. Otherwise, it was a pretty decent stay.
Very comfortable and helpful staff.
Very nice .. respectable staff
The only issue I had is the first night we stayed there. There was a fire place smoke smell throughout the building and when you're partially allergic to smoke, it's not a very good environment.
Service was great but property is showing its age.
Excellent experience at this friendly hotel
Stayed a few times , rooms clean , beds comfortable , hot tub is great
The only downside was the hot tub was not managed close enough. Too much chlorine was added. Had itch and burning eyes because of it. Possibly should consider not allowing children into hot tub.
Decent place to stay for a quick Banff trip.
Was good!
Always great
Great!
Nice place to stay.
Great clean property attentive staff and The Keg attached!
Easy to walk to town, accessible to resto, very friendly staff 😀 👍
The hotel was within walking distance of all popular landmarks. The location is just perfect for a walk around the city centre
Didn't much like parking, other than that great place, super staff.
A cozy spot
The Banff Caribou Lodge is always a great stay - especially for Christmas! A 20 minute walk downtown, free parking and close to the roam bus - rooms are clean and cozy
Solid hotel accommodations. Would've been nice if the staff would have explained more about the amenities of the hotel at check in. They were very nice just not very informative. They were very responsive when we had needs. Towels and TP were delivered quickly upon request.
Needs major renos, proper pillows, fitted sheets
Great stay
